- Thus the UBs were to embark on a tour that would take them from California sun to Russian snows. From where money is God to where Lenin is Jesus Christ. The idea was intriguing. How much is really known of the country about which everyone has an opinion. The contradictions were startling. Rennaissance beauty offset by Orwellian gloom. The hand of friendship gloved in suspicion and fear. As exotic as the third world yet unmistakably European. Somebody,somewhere in the russian ministry thought it a good idea to invite the UBs. They would be the first western pop band to enjoy such a privilege. They had been given an offer they couldn't refuse....Doctor X

I went to all four concerts, with friends from Patrice Lumumba University. Police prohibited us dancing. At one point the security removed me out min 28. TwoUB40 staff came out very angry. Told the security I was one of them. I went back again. Minute 28 you can clearly hear vocalist Astro screaming on them (let the man dance, what’s wrong with you). Ali Campbell asked me to come up and handed me the microphone. I spoke briefly asking the security to allow people to dance. Oh what days! Ahmed/
One of those staff members was a friend of mine John Dowling.
The band had a big fight in a club with the Helsinki hockey team

When cd’s were first came out, this was the first one I bought. UB40 live In Moscow. Great video. Brilliant and fun band.👏👏👏

This brings back so much memories. My dad was crazy about UB40, he recorded this concert when it was shown on TV, I must have watched if over a thousand times.... Johnny too bad my favourite....

I was on holiday in Russia just before UB40 did their tour and a lot of the stuff which is shown in the film was part of the standard Russian tourist circuit. I stayed in the same hotel in Moscow (you didn't have a choice - hotel rooms were allocated by the state tourist board called Intourist) and I had to laugh at the way you had to book a phone call hours in advance. I love the way they manage to show how basic things were - just look at the funfair - and the way they make things up when they didn't know the names of the places (e.g. Icerincksky Stadium). A very underrated band who committed suicide when they could have continued making great music.

Thank you for this. I have been listening to this album since I was 12 years old in 1986. It's absolutely amazing to see the performance for the first time on video!

That first song was not live. ESPECIALLY Robin's vocals! It sounds like this show is a mix of live singing and recorded tracks.
