I love the road trips with Pops, but I've also really enjoyed some of your adventures with your wife, too!🍒 Thanks for sharing so many wonderful places with us who wish to travel more, too!🎶 My favorite thing about your vlogs is how positively you narrate, Josh~💯
You two are so blessed to enjoy such a wonderfully close father/son relationship. I dont think they are so common and so it's very wonderful to see! God bless you and keep you safe in your travels!
We do realize how blessed we are and don’t take it for granted. So sad some of the difficulties people will share in comments that just break your heart. But we always appreciate the reminder so thx!

I love the twins are developing memories of the trips they have been on. . . so far! Cherry Blossoms and glaciers, spot on! Too, cute. I love this Q&A embedded in your trips!
I (female, solo traveler) just stumbled across your vlogs a couple months ago and absolutely love them. I have binged watched a lot of them, including with your wife and twins and all of them inspired me to do the same, once I retire (late 2025). I just can't believe Pops hasn't been to Lake Tahoe. I lived up at the lake for 13 years and would move back in a heart beat. But for the time being I'm stuck in Florida. 😞You have to do a road trip there. It is breathtaking beautiful. Thank you for sharing and I'm looking forward to many more videos.
We enjoy the chemistry that you had Pops have, you both make a great team. But we also love to watch when your family is going with you. The kids are so cute. We also love the destinations that you showcase. Great Job. Safe travels.
I love the relationship between you and your pops. You are so blessed. The banter is so entertaining and refreshing. Will watch your videos over network reality TV anytime
We love your videos! When my wife and I started planning a road trip from Ontario Canada to San Diego in 2022, your videos inspired us to see as much as we could... especially the Route 66 videos! Now that she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's in her 50's, travel is one of her favourite things, so we've been creating our own travel videos... We don't get a lot of views, but our friends love seeing our adventures, and you were a tremendous inspiration to us! Thanks so much!
Your Route 66 video is how I found your channel. My family mostly travels via road trips. Your channel is my first stop when planning! I loved your answer to the souvenir question because we visited Roswell back in April and because of your video I to had to get my own wooden alien! Thank y'all so much for these videos and safe travels!!
This was a fun video! I appreciated hearing about your takes and memories from among the different trips you have made. It would be great to hear some more about your planning processes. Your trips are always interesting and it goes without saying they wouldn't be so without all your pre-planning.
I loved that give gave us a more "inside look" at your travels. My husband and I have watched every single one of your videos. We are planning a New Mexico trip for Labor Day and Utah trip for November! You and Pops have a very special Father/Son relationship, you're blessed!
Thanks Josh for including this video You kind of touched on it a bit and your Dad did. a lot of hard work and thought goes into your videos but there is enough spontaneity to allow you to shift around to what you think would interest you and Pops which in turn draws your audience in. Keep up the good work and expanding your viewer base by going outside Cali
Hi Josh and Pops, at the risk of sounding sappy, I have to thank you both for posting these videos. The father-son ones (esp when you get out of California) are so comforting to me from the playful energy you both have, the stops you take (things like the Dr. Pepper museum, donut shops, etc.) and even the background music. I struggle with depression (so sometimes getting out is really hard outside of work), and I had a pretty traumatic Route 66 road trip experience with an abusive partner who made me feel bad for wanting to take fun sightseeing stops to take pics and explore. Your videos bring back memories of better roadtrips, and give me hope that maybe I too can one day have comforting, easy-going, playful roadtrips with a partner like y'all who are proof that not all dudes have toxic masculinity, and that some just like to have some good, old-fashioned, fun. :)
Wow that sounds really rough. Glad our trips can lighten things for you a bit. So encouraging to us for you to say that! My prayer is also that you can find a partner to share your love of travel with you!!
@@popshiking I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comment! Thank you so much for your encouragement & prayer! I will hold onto this. 🙏🏼 (BTW, I didn't know you had your own channel until now! It looks great, & I'm excited to have just subscribed. I'm a millennial but sense that all of your "Grey Hair Hiking Tips" will be more than applicable, fun, and inspiring for me too.)
So sorry to hear of your previous road trip, that is really sad to hear. I hope the videos do encourage you to get out on the road again and to make some better memories for sure
@@ThroughMyLens TYSM for your comment! You & your Dad are pretty iconic to me (more so than celebs since I watch your videos more than TV these days), & its so nice that you both took the time to share some supportive words. Y'all are kind both on & off the screen. I really appreciate it. :)
So excited for Pops & Josh going to another Experience for them And US!! Recently returned from that area wish I had more time in the area looking forward to seeing it Through Your Lens!! Safe Travels All The Best! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
We absolutely are hooked on your videos. You and Pops make a great road trip team and we plan our trips based on your itineraries. And our motto is: “Be Like Pops-Eat More Pie.” (Maybe y’all need to sell T-shirt’s with this ;) ). Happy Travels to all of you.
Just got back from Iceland, spent two weeks there and the way you plan your trips is EXACTLY how I do haha how much time do we have? What's our route? Points of interest along the way? Must see things. build the skeleton. estimate times. But yeah if you go to a place and feel like you didn't see it all, that's a good thing in my opinion, shows you what an amazing place it is!
0:53 Pops has the right idea😊 Seriously, nothing beats that view. I remember going there for the first time when i was 8 years old it almost felt like i was looking at one giant painting
Hey there, I’m really grateful for your videos. You and your dad or wife have a way of making me feel I’m with you and that is. lol. Keep on trucking my friends and taking videos. 😁
This was an excellent video. Thank you for answering questions that I did not know that I should have. I have retired and my husband will be in the next few years. We want to visit so many places. You have given us so many places to visit. Thank you both. We enjoy watching. As with many others, our initial video was your Route 66.
Love what y'all do. My wife and I watch all the videos from New Orleans. We are moving to Cali in two years and your videos help keep us sane until then. Thanks!.....do not come down here in the summer. The heat and humidity is not fun.
This was an absolutely delightful video!!! I loved how you asked all of the family members questions. Pops is just a great Dad, Grandpa, and traveler!! Go Illini!!! 🧡💙
Route 66 was the 1st of your videos I saw. Blue Ridge Parkway was among my favorites. Seeing all those grizzly bears was scariest. You go to a lot of places and I like to see where you guys show up. Well done mates...well done 👍
Excellent video, as always. The top three national parks are really hard to choose. For me: 1: Yellowstone 2: Grand Canyon 3: Bryce Canyon, but being "East Coast" people does figure into this very tough decision. There are so many great national parks and we love your videos on all of them. Thank you!
I enjoy watching and traveling with you and Pops!! You have a wonderful family, I enjoy your channel very much and you guys are awesome!! Where are we off too next? I’m ready.
Just came back from a trip to Big Bend National Park totally inspired by Josh and Pops. The awesome insights that you provided in your travel guide made my trip so much easier to plan, especially with travelling such long distances. I am already planning my next trip to Alaska. I'm sure I will be rewatching all your Alaska videos many times before I head off. Appreciate all the travel tips and insights.
Love this video dynamic of you and Pops. It was fun to see you guys on the road answering questions. Well, you already know that I’m Pops number one fan 😂 so any videos with Pops are fun to watch. Also, it was a nice twist to hear the whole family mention their favorite spots. Thanks for sharing, Josh. 🙌🏽
You are my BFF fan! I was especially impressed with the twins answers. Even as a barely 3 year old Jack would mention how beautiful the mountains were as we drive through Alaska! Thx so much for your support!
Started watching your videos recently and my favorites are the ones with pops. Anytime he’s in one I’m stoked. I lost my dad 2 weeks ago and let me tell you this Q & A with your pops brought out all the feels. Also, I live on the Big Island about 30 minutes from Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. I think you’d find so many more things to do on the Big Island that would shine in your videos so please consider making a trip out one day soon!
Wow I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you have many beautiful memories to reflect on. I’m always remembering that there is a finite number of times we will be able to travel together and I want to make each time memorable. Thx for reminding me of that once again! May God comfort you and your family in your loss.
Lots of fun, as always with you two! It was nice to get some behind-the-scenes info on your trips and your individual choices. Josh really puts in a lot of effort on the videos, Pops adds his own flavor, and the combination is perfection! Loved the twins' answers, and I'm with Pops on the Fritos...Original only!😁
I’ve traveled for nearly 50 years taking the wife, kids (when we could) and other extended family. I never realized it was so unusual until my now 49 year old nephew introduced me to his new wife as his favorite relative. He told her that I was the only person to ever take him to the Grand Canyon (when he was 16). Now at my advanced age it is so pleasing to know that impact on children in the family. We all got great experiences seeing and doing these travels together.
I've been watching you for the last 6 months or so. I always thought your Pop looked familiar. Since he says "hoagies" and cheesesteaks I assume he's from South Jersy. I was born and raised in Philly but have been living in the South Jersey burbs since the late 70s. I'm about your Pop's age and maybe a little older. In the early 00's I started taking an annual camping road trip out west with my adult son and later with my son-in-law. Great times and great memories. Keep up the good work!
My husband and I have been thinking of buying a small camper...but I argue...we could do road trips, save $$ on gas, stay in hotels...like you and Pops !!! I would love to see a tally of how much some of your trips actually cost to make my case !!! Thank you ! Love watching your videos - thank you for taking us along !! PS - you have such a wonderful family !!
Thanks! I shared the full cost on the Route 66 tips video and the Alaska Highway video too I think. It is more than an RV but it is also faster and more adaptable so we prefer it at the moment. RV could be fun in the future rhough
Never been to Lake Tahoe? I'm revoking your California card right now Pops....deporting you back to New Jersey (hey what exit?)!! You gotta hit Lake Tahoe!! Ok to serious stuff...I enjoy all your channels because you show me places I've been, but a new angle/look on them. You show me places I haven't been...and the video style and voice over stuff just makes it fun to watch and learn. Not gonna lie...I've been to a LOT of the places you've been to...haha. Great minds!! haha. Keep on doing what you all do!! Thought it was funny that Pops hates heights and his wife's favorite place is the PCH....rocks and cliffs...wonder if she's been to Big Sur? HA!
I plan my road trips the same way you do and for my upcoming road trip in New England in October, I used a lot of info from your videos when you and Pops were there. Big thanks in advance! BTW...Custer State Park is amazing!
This was great. Always good to see you both doing things together. I'm gonna have to side with Pops on the sandwich thing though Josh. We are hoping our next trip to Hawaii ends in seeing lava, which did not happen the first go round. Long strange story haha
Thank you for sharing your vlogs with us ,some of us are home bound . The pandemic turned me into a very cautious person I started to freak out Thank you with lots of ❤ & 🙏s 💯
Nice to hear you are exploring South Dakota! Always looks like an amazing trip over there, can't wait to see the video. If you are still in the Black Hills and it fits into your route, check out the Bicycle Sculpture in Pringle, SD--just the sort of wacky roadside attraction you guys love to see!
That’s a good idea. Josh could glean all the food arguments from the videos and compile them!! Need to give you credit if he ever does that. We’ve had fun over those arguments!!
Well as time would have it, I was watching this on a lunch break...eating Subway. LOL Great video once again. Lots of good questions and answers. I like how you get the whole family involved at the beginning. God bless!
I have been to 48 countries. The most beautiful place I have ever been to is: "Garden of the Sleeping Giant." A huge orchid growing area on Nada, Viti Levu in Fiji. OUTSTANDING!
Thanks for the Q and A video Josh. My husband and I watch most of your videos, we live in Australia and love arm chair travel! You and your Pops have a lovely dynamic that is a joy to watch. I was wondering if your videos and photography is your full time job?
I thought I was the only one who planned trips using spreadsheets and a custom Google Map! This was a fun video to watch so we could get an insight into how these videos get planned. And to see your interaction with Pops!
Hi Josh! This Q&A was great and I have a question about a trip you may or may not have done! Have you been to the Avenue of the Giants? Thanks for this video! I enjoyed seeing your whole family on this one!❤️😀🇺🇸
Can't wait for the South Dakota video. My wife and I just got to Kona HI today and are going to Hawaii Volcanoes tomorrow for the day. I heard the volcano isn't bubbling now but it's the best at night according to some locals
Dots honey mustard pretzels are the first thing I look for when we come over from the UK! Went through a lot of bags when we just did Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Back over for the Washington State parks in August so will be looking for them again!
I can’t tell you how much I treasure your Father-Son travel videos. I’d LOVE to hear your Pop’s feedback on Cousins Subs if you ever find yourselves in Wisconsin. They are so good!
Great video ! And Pops please go to Tahoe (shoulder seasons) and see Tallac / Valhalla Historic site walk (millionaire mansion walk) and Ehrman mansion / Sugar Pine Point . All of these have gorgeous old homes (some with tours) with the iconic views of the lake and lots of historic interest. Then Taylor Creek Visitor center with wooden boardwalk and stream profile chamber, beaver trees gnawing, and early morning / sunset possible bear sightings. All of the above are flat, easy, and well maintained walks with history and yes , FRITOS RULE!
+1 for Kansas and Merrills, Yosemite and Yellowstone. They're my favorites as well. If you haven't yet been to the Black Hills/Devils Tower/Badlands NP area, you owe it yourself to go. The Black Hills has Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Monument (a work in progress), Wind Cave NP, Jewel Cave NM, Custer State Park, the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, Deadwood, Lead, etc. Rapid City has life-size statues of the US Presidents scattered about in a vibrant downtown and a wood stave church (Chapel in the Hills) that is an exact replica of the Borgund, Norway, stavekirke, which dates from the 12th century. But, wait, there's more....🙂 //EDIT: Then you finished up talking about South Dakota. Have a great time.//
They just don’t make men like your Pops any longer! What a great role model for his son😊
Yeah they do its called a man with common sense.
@@2CorgiMom 👍 agreed

just found your channel, and man i love it! i love the outdoors so much and i enjoy watching all these amazing videos! keep it up!!
I grew up in Cinnaminson but left when I got married in ‘79. Haven’t been back much since as the family has pretty much all moved away.
Love this new video setup too! Looking forward to more 🙌🏽
Yay! Thank you!
I didn't plan on commenting, but when your pops said he's never been to Tahoe, I had to comment and cast my opinion to get him there!
Point made! I need to get there!!
I agree, he needs to get to Lake Tahoe
HA!
Haha deport pops back to New Jersey!
I plan my road trips the same way you do and for my upcoming road trip in New England in October, I used a lot of info from your videos when you and Pops were there. Big thanks in advance! BTW...Custer State Park is amazing!
So glad it was helpful. We loved our time in New England!
I agree with “pops”, Jersey Mike is great! #13 Mike’s way.
I will have to try that one!
Same, but I also add either jalapeños or cherry pepper relish!
This was great. Always good to see you both doing things together. I'm gonna have to side with Pops on the sandwich thing though Josh. We are hoping our next trip to Hawaii ends in seeing lava, which did not happen the first go round. Long strange story haha
We love Spain too. Just returned from a wonderful visit there.
So cool! Yea it was one of the best trips ever for my wife and I
Thank you for sharing your vlogs with us ,some of us are home bound . The pandemic turned me into a very cautious person I started to freak out Thank you with lots of ❤ & 🙏s 💯
Thank you so much for watching them and for the comment!
Loved this! Always look forward to the road trip videos with Pops.
Really appreciate you watching!
More to come! We have a bunch of videos coming up when I can edit them haha
I’m from California, I was surprised at how pretty the metroparks were in the suburbs of Cleveland (Lakewood, rocky river, etc).
Love the videos. Esp you and pops. I wish I was able to do that with my dad. Live life every moment with your love ones and keep traveling
Thanks for this great and really informative vid. Excellent! Oh and I'm still in love with Pops, my dream man. 💓
Hahaha that’s funny! Thank you for watching!!
We missed that, next time! We loved the Black Hills SO much
Cool Q and A on the road trip.
Thanks for watching!
Pops is a great guy! You have a great dad 😊 That’s why you’re a good one too!
That’s really kind! Thx!
😊 thank you
❤Family.❤
Love the food arguments. 😄
That’s a good idea. Josh could glean all the food arguments from the videos and compile them!! Need to give you credit if he ever does that. We’ve had fun over those arguments!!
Haha we love joking with each other
Haha love your snack lady comment! Yeah the crunched up Fritos with like chili in it was called hay stacks I think.
Well as time would have it, I was watching this on a lunch break...eating Subway. LOL
Great video once again. Lots of good questions and answers. I like how you get the whole family involved at the beginning.
God bless!
haha! I hope it was a good sandwich!
I have been to 48 countries. The most beautiful place I have ever been to is: "Garden of the Sleeping Giant." A huge orchid growing area on Nada, Viti Levu in Fiji. OUTSTANDING!
Sounds amazing, I would love to see that!
@@ThroughMyLens Do a Google search. They have a nice website too
Thanks for the Q and A video Josh. My husband and I watch most of your videos, we live in Australia and love arm chair travel!
You and your Pops have a lovely dynamic that is a joy to watch.
I was wondering if your videos and photography is your full time job?
So cool, I would love to go to Australia! It has been on my bucket list for so long! Yep, this is my full time job, it has been for about 6 years
Great video I love watching you both ❤❤
I very much enjoyed this video. Motivated me to get busy planning a road trip or two!
So awesome to hear, I hope you have a great trip!
We love your videos and your pop is awesome keep up the good work
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
Thank you! Will do!
I thought I was the only one who planned trips using spreadsheets and a custom Google Map! This was a fun video to watch so we could get an insight into how these videos get planned. And to see your interaction with Pops!
Glad you liked it and yea, I am a google maps lover haha
The Best!! Love ❤️ this channel to the Moon 🌙 and Back !! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Really appreciate it!
Love you guys and all your videos!!!!
Very kind of you to say!
I love your videos. Being able to have adventures with your dad is pretty cool.
Haha we have a good time. Thx for stopping by!
We have such a great time traveling!
Hi Josh! This Q&A was great and I have a question about a trip you may or may not have done! Have you been to the Avenue of the Giants? Thanks for this video! I enjoyed seeing your whole family on this one!❤️😀🇺🇸
I have, here is a video I made 4 years ago on it ruclips.net/video/30t_EsuGG60/видео.htmlsi=_qH7t2h6qjrcSt8J
Can't wait for the South Dakota video. My wife and I just got to Kona HI today and are going to Hawaii Volcanoes tomorrow for the day. I heard the volcano isn't bubbling now but it's the best at night according to some locals
Oh wow, I hope it is awesome!
Props to Pops. That's a lot of hiking. I plan all my trips too and try to get as much as I can in because I never know if I will be back.
That’s how I feel. I always hope to be back but you never know!
Love your channel currently visiting Paris!
Might be my fave episode!
Really kind of you to say that
oh - and the route 66 "blew up" not because of Covid etc. - it blew up because it was excellent !
Very kind of you to say!
Sixties and early seventies is the best music ever.❤
No argument here! Haha
New video from Josh and Pops, gon be a good night!!!
Thx for watching!
Thanks for watching!!
Dots honey mustard pretzels are the first thing I look for when we come over from the UK! Went through a lot of bags when we just did Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Back over for the Washington State parks in August so will be looking for them again!
They are soooooo good haha glad you like them too
I can’t tell you how much I treasure your Father-Son travel videos. I’d LOVE to hear your Pop’s feedback on Cousins Subs if you ever find yourselves in Wisconsin. They are so good!
Josh definitely overstated the whole sandwich thing. He is mostly trolling me with that! I’d love to try that place!
We will have to try them!
Great comment with lots of suggestions! I will pass them along
But, wait, there's more....🙂
//EDIT: Then you finished up talking about South Dakota. Have a great time.//
We went to a lot of these places but I loved the black hills so much I already want to go back and explore more
