    We ate at Haunted Burger tonight. It is such a gorgeous drive. Staying the night in Flagstaff tonight. We decided to take the scenic drive through Sedona not realizing it was 30 min of steep mountain incline switchbacks in the snow 😮

    Always when i see videos or documentaries about such landscapes in the US i think to myself: how cool would it be to be there in around 1850 to 1880
    What i also wanted to say.... thank you guys for making those amazing videos... i always feel like be there with you. Your style to make those videos is unique and exceptional good... thumbs up and keep it up :)

    This is a wonderful video of Arizona! When you were at the Hall of Flame Museum in Phoenix, at 34:45 this firetruck was donated by my friend Alexander Black here in Douglas, AZ. He was a firefighter originally from Syracuse, NY. I believe that's where the firetruck was originally from. Alex would drive it in local parades, but had not restored it to this point. He donated it to this museum in his will. I'm sure Alex would be pleased with the beautiful restoration job they did on it. He also donated a large amount of antique fire alarm boxes, nozels and other firefighting memorabilia to the National Firefighter Museum. Thanks to you and your family for all the great videos!

    As a person who leans towards the claustrophobic I imagine I would be hanging out with Pops. Just watching you go down into the mine was affecting my breathing pattern. I definitely like it better above ground but watching this gave me an appreciation for the miners , the conditions and the work they did.

    My husband and I love your channels. We especially enjoyed this video of so many beautiful places in our state of Arizona. We love how you incorporate the history of the places you visit into your videos. My husband Craig is a railroad fan and we appreciated your knowledge and explanation of the El Tovar Hotel as a former Harvey House! Most other videos we've seen of various hotels near the rail lines fail to mention the whole existence of Harvey Houses. While we haven't stayed at the El Tovar yet, we have stayed at another former Harvey House, the La Posada Hotel in Winslow; it was a really cool experience.

    • @popshiking
      @popshiking 2 месяца назад

      I really enjoyed El Tovar. With many of the old National Park spots, you trade the quaintness and history for less modern conveniences and I am happy to make that trade myself.

    Just did a family trip in March myself and went to Arizona. Did almost the same except in reverse! Started in Phoenix, stayed in Sedona then went to Grand Cayon then Antelope Canyon and Glen Canyon Dam and back to Sedona. Long drivesbut well worth it! The fog happened to us too when we got to Grand Canyon but it cleared up in almost an hour and a half.

    I can’t believe you got to see antelope canyon by yourself. I saw it in a huge tour group that took several trucks to hold everyone. At least 50 people. It’s so incredible! The ride to there was pretty wild. lol. We got done with our tour an hour before sunset. I love the path out so traffic stays one way. We got horseshoe bend at sunset. It was incredible. Didn’t get to glen canyon or the lake. Horse shoe bend was amazing.

    Great video!! My mom and I are going to Arizona in September…mainly Sedona and Grand Canyon, but I definitely have some great ideas on how to spend our time! 😁

    You might not have gotten the views you wanted but you show a side of the GC that most of us never seen. I didn't know it snows there so thank you for sharing this.

    Sedona is one of our favourite places in the US. 5 years ago on the 6th April 2019 I claimed the bell rock, 24 hours later I had to have a quadruple heart bypass at the hospital in Flagstaff. Can’t thank the surgeon and staff enough, they were fantastic. Hope to go back again soon . We watch all your vids and agree with all the other comments they are great. Mick from England

    I was in Page just under a month ago, incredibly beautiful place. It was an unexpected visit on my way to the Grand Canyon, so i didnt see as much as you did, but really enjoyed the scenery there.

    I visited Arizona in 1997 and drove almost 1500 miles within the state. It was the best vacation in my life. I remember the Phoenix Airport had some construction going on when we landed. Good old days.

    I was introduced to Sonoran Dogs at Tacos Y Hot Dogs El Manantial in south Tucson. It's just a little cash only food truck but pretty amazing. $4 gets you a great hot dog. It's good living in Tucson, especially if you do like Mexican/Sonoran food. I've become a pozole fan recently.
    My last trip to the Grand Canyon also featured snowy, foggy weather, but there were some nice breaks in the clouds for some good photo ops. I do love the Grand Canyon in winter due to the lack of crowds.
    I am envious of the fog you got at the US 89 viewpoint south of Page! That was amazing!
    I've been back in Arizona almost three years now and there's still new things I'm discovering. I'm more of an outdoors sight seer, so place like Chiricahua & Organ Pipe national monuments are of more interest than indoor museums. I also enjoy showing Arizona natives their own state since it seems like so many people never explore their immediate surroundings properly.
