Hardly any other natural wonder on earth is more impressive than the Grand Canyon. Over millions of years, the Colorado River has dug up to 1,600 meters deep into the rock and created a gorge that is almost 30 kilometers at its widest point. To protect large parts of the canyon, the US government established a national monument in 1908, which became Grand Canyon National Park in 1919. In 1979, UNESCO finally declared the Grand Canyon a World Natural Monument.
Mexico has a giant canyon that's three times bigger n its deeper! Its full of brush, trees some scary n deadly bugs n snakes. Not all of its even been mapped yet
Beautiful, Majestic, Breath Taking, words do not do the Grand Canyon justice... My favorite time is winter on the North Rim, words cannot explain the beauty...
Do u think u cld ever take it for granted.Ever see it again painted in snow without feeling anything in ur heart? Somehow, Ur comment tells me, no. I don't think ur like that. U sound like u truly enjoy its natural beauty. Not everyone would do that in winter, most would be summer, I'd imagine. But the things u see in winter are not the same things in life u'd see in the summer months. Extremities in nature tend to do that, create unusual and breathtaking scenes. I envy u ur beautiful country as u may envy me mines? But not in a bad way. We all jst love beauty. ✊🏻🏴✊🏻
Asked by my daughter if I could have one wish, I told her I wish I had the means to take my family to little traveled places around the world every summer school break. Just think of her answer when the teacher asks what she did during the school break. With all the wars, hate, crime, and evil thrown at us as part of daily life, it would be wonderful to show my family the beauty and wonder the world still has to offer.
Until you can - wonderful documentaries and books. Heinrich Heine (a German author from the Romantic period) said this: of all the worlds we have created the world of books is the most powerful. Tell you daughter to read in the meantime. Which you two probably already do 😀 Good luck and I’m rooting for you
This was amazingly well done on every level. The actual canyon is amazing but the photography was off the charts- very nice combination of animals and the surreal beauty- wonderfully done. thank-you.
I hope someday, I'm going to visit this place, I've been dreaming it for sometime. Watching it now, it's really amazing, a breathtaking views of the landscape. I really love it..thanks for the wonderful video ✌❤
what a masterpiece 🙈💖thank you so much for this treasure shared with the rest of us 🌻✨ i will probably never see the grand canyon with my own eyes and so many other places full of life and splendour but thanks to many marvelous ppl that make documentaries and their generosity i am able to enjoy some of the magnificence as well💖thank you🍀✨
July, 2005, I spent 4 Glorious days on the North Rim. Just as Great was the road trip from Phoenix. Went via Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and back via Sunset Crater. Fabulous Trip.
Would love to know how many people and how long it took to make this for us to see. Thank you for a wonderful video that transports me from the comfort of my home into the wild.
@@00tonytone It isn't one or the other. It's both! Take a look at (and maybe read/listen to a bit about the James Webb telescope if you want your mind blown! Then consider if this is God's work, too! I grew up a nature and science person, and also in church. I question everything, yet the more I learned and saw in nature and science, the more I believed in God. That may not make sense to some, yet it does to me. The time the universe has existed, the unplumbed depths of science and its deep complexity, the breathtaking beauty--where did it all start? God perhaps?
The grandeur of Grand Canyon is really breath taking, in this harse atmosphere life can thrive is a natural wonder, though peopled by the Pueblo tribe it is no wonder that it must have had a softer climate early on. I am jealous of the North American continent that possess so many spectacular natural creations i.e the Mississippi, the Niagara Falls,Rocky mountains, etc may these be conserved.
Great nature documentary in my top 5 and I seen alot. That son mountain lion is a bad cat. That's your mom's at least give her a bone . She gave you mad milk for you to get to that point and that's the thanks she gets. No cat heaven for you if I was the cat God.
Great video Lisette! I can't wait to see the rain! 🙏🏻🌧 I t's been so hot and dry here for weeks! 🥵🥵🥵 The bowling Greens that I look after at work are Yellow 😮😮! The start of the video reminds me of a song by Icelandic band, Sigur Rós called Hoppípolla. It means Hopping into Puddles😃. Have a fantastic weekend gorgeous! Much Love as always! 🤗🏴❤️
Excellent documentary focusing on the wildlife of the Grand Canyon. Didn't know the mountain lion was the 4th largest cat species. Always figured the leopard would be bigger, but the mountain lion's slightly larger.
We don't have anything like this in the uk, I do Watch a video channel were a gentleman travels all over the USA, this is beautiful, I would love to go and see for myself, well narrated and very educational, thank you very much. 😊
It sure is beautiful even on tv/phone screen and it can't even do it justice, this is cliche and I hate saying it, people say this about most natural beauty but man its so true with the grand canyon is mind blowing when u step up to the rim in person it's so big and intimidating it makes me dizzy
Yes, it's quite something. Even with the beauty of the photography the most telling is in narration at the beginning where he says something about the mind not being able to comprehend its vastness. The Canyon is the center of the vortex for this continent. He said it was humbling but when you arrive there you are immediately transformed into an ant... IN GLORY. What I liked about this documentary was the footage at the end where they show the Canyon in the deep red colors that appear after a rainstorm, and the slate grey clouds. That is when the Canyon is most nurturing, welcoming, enfolding. Now, with the heat in the west, the Canyon and other desert parks are going to get deadly. With the Canyon, most people don't really know the winter is the safest time visit if you plan to do any hiking.
THE EARTH IS FLAT !!! GRAND CANYON IS ALL TREE STUMPS FROM THE BIG TREES THAT WERE IN THE PAST .. WAKE UP THOSE ARE ALL TREE STUMPS AND TREE REMNANTS FROM THE BIG TREES OF THE PAST ..
Copper Canyon in Mexico is just as spectacular! While standing on the North Rim(one can go to the edge and look over) 4 ravens were doing dives over it and dropping hundreds of feet, before taking wing. They flew over me so close I could hear the flap of their wings. The Tataumata had built a lodge along the canyon wall! Theyd built rock shelters for centuries! They are tiny people! Miniature race. The mothers carry their babies in a sling on their backs which ends wrap around their foreheads! They are a gorgeous, really handsome race! In the middle, the canyon takes a dogleg! It goes north and is as big and spectacular as Copper Canyon itself!

We as a family threwout my youth we traveled to other states and stopped here. It is beyond fascination. My parents always had something knew to share about the grand Canyon, with us.
Absolutely beautiful of the scenery and nature wildlife animals and you are right is stairs Ways to haven , Not just as animals Also for the people who love to explore the land.
Ravens are like the einsteins of the bird world. I seen documentary where they make a hook toool to get a little bucket with a tray out a place he couldn't reach to get the treat. Also they tapped on screen color to get a treat for picking the right one. Its amazing how smart they are.
The Grand Canyon was carved out by at least 6 ice ages melting. It's sits at the edge of a massive ice age glacier 4-6 miles high. Once the canyon was started by the first melting, every melting after that sent warm air up the canyon carving out a canal in the ice that sent all of the melting water back down into the canyon, carving deeper each the until you see what we have now. But that's just my theory.
How do you know those details? You comment as if you were there when it happened. There are different explanations on how the canyon formed, each with its merits. A little water over a long time is only one of these. Alot of water over a little time is another explanation. Either way its beautiful.
The walls are very eroded, yes. But I'm pretty sure the glaciers only came as far south as Illinois or the high Rockies and Sierra, not the Grand Canyon, which is lower in both altitude and latitude.
