Yellowstone National Park is an American national park located in the western United States, largely in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana, and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular. While it represents many types of biomes, the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.

I grew up on the Idaho side of the Grand Tetons just outside the West Yellowstone entrance. This video is amazing and really shows the beauty of the park but if you can ever visit in person you should. Every time I visit I leave realizing that I need to take life less seriously and enjoy and appreciate the things I have.

The wolf-bear dynamic at c.24 minutes in was VERY interesting. The bear mother reckoned her cubs were safe enough to lead them in and was more hostile to the male bear than the wolves, who themselves hung around reckoning the bears would leave enough to be worth their while staying.
Neither will kill the other over a meal, the wolves might try an easy kill of a bear cub but when the stakes grow too high, they fold and quit the table -not cowardice, just prudence. Hunting is not fighting; it's food provision, any sign of a fight and they hedge their bets to look elsewhere. You may wonder who'd win a fight to the death between a grizzly and whatever-number of wolves; but the wolves or bears wouldn't want to know.

Yellowstone is there because of plate tectonics. It is over a "hot spot" just like the Hawaiian Islands. It last BLEW up when it was in Idaho. I forgot how many years ago! I learned all about it and lots of other things from Nick Zentner a geology professor that is with Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. We have the Cascadia Subduction about 55 miles off our coast from Vancouver Island about 700 miles south to Cape Mendocino, California. The Cascade mountain are here because of the Cascadia Zone. 👵🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛, me,Teo, and Two Two my 2 cats
