The symbol of the Wild West: The mighty saguaro (pronounced su-ah - roo) cactus gives the national park its name and offers many animals a well-protected habitat Arguably the most unusual desert in North America lies in Arizona. Extreme temperatures, endless droughts, vicious winds and ravenous predators present the desert dwellers with a never-ending ordeal. Despite these adverse circumstances, Saguaro National Park is one of the most biodiverse deserts in the world. In the midst of the barren landscape stands a silent sentinel. A giant.
Hello Free Doc! Thank you for the superb program! Only one tiny bobble. To say "saguaro," the "g" is pronounced as of a "w" in Spanish. Sa (short "a") - "war" - "o."
I have lived in Tucson for 74 years. I have never seen a video this good about Saguaro National Park. Thank you very much. The video makes me feel proud and very fortunate to live here.
Thank you so much. Absolutely beautiful cinematography, as well excellently done narrative, with facts and humor. I fell love w/ wild wild kingdom as a child, & love of animals and God's beauty of Nature. It has never left me, & I hope it never does. Thank you again. A-1 rating.
What a wonderfully marvelous nature film. I enjoyed every moment of it and had no idea about this marvelous desert. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day!" 💖💖💖💖
I lived in Phoenix Arizona a Total of like 11 years..... I took pics of a paif of adult Roadrunners feeding a pair of babies, nearly they're SIZE. I LOVE THE WILDLIFE THERE!!!!!!
For one year I lived close to the national park, in the yard were several saguaro cactuses. I loved it. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty. Excellent film!
I live in Tucson. This was not only well done, it was quite accurate. Nearly all of the creatures in this film actually visit my back yard, and behave much like you see here. The Harris's antelope squirrels are hilarious!
What a magical place!! It brings me sweet memories of my holidays in Green Valley...an hour or so from Tucson. The saguaro in front of our house, the roadrunners, the gorgeous sunsets, the mesmerizing nights..... 😍...I miss it!! ❤
The heat’s not that bad, I’ve lived in Tucson my whole life. I would rather have dry heat over the humidity in the rest of the country which makes it much worse. Arizona is the most incredible place on earth in my opinion, it’s beautiful beyond belief.
As a Californian that visited Arizona a number of times with my parents living in Scottsdale, in my younger brother living in Gilbert; the Sonoran desert is definitely a unique place to get used to. It can definitely feel like an oven, but the wildlife is something to admire. With all the caution, I eventually want to behold a javelina or see one myself.
In my admittedly biased opinion, the most beautiful national or state park I’ve visited, especially when the cacti are in bloom. It’s full of life and stunningly beautiful.

Love this documentary. I love Saguaro. I live in Ontario, Canada, and though I have never seen a full sized saguaro my grandson obtained some seeds and started some babaies. Mine is now about 3 to 4 years old and about 2 inches tall by about 1 inch in diameter. It'll never be full sized in my lifetime. I hope one day to take a trip to Arizona to plant my baby out in nature. Thank you for this beautiful Documentary.
Thank you very much for this educational yet awesomely intimate look at this place which I have visited several times, but were it not for the Museum near Tuscon where many of these species are displayed, I would have had no idea of the diversity and interconnectedness of so many different species and plants.
Bravo beautiful nature documentary for everybody who likes nature and preservation to next generation and I really enjoy .Program is fenomena I like it very mach. Thanks for this beauty of nature.
Antigamente eu assistir este documentário dublado em português. Por que vocês retiraram ele? Por favor, adicionem ele novamente. É um documentário ótimo (mas em português).
Humans don't just revere the Road Runner for its speed, strength and courage, we also have named our most frequently used utility after itself; the Internet lmao
I've been very concerned recently about the Gulf of Cortez Marshes having had dried up decades ago when the Hoover Dam was built! I thought for the longest time it was because of a maybe nonexistent canal from the Colorado River to Phoenix. Nevertheless- I recently learned that Phoenix's canal gets its water from a different river. Reminds me of the terrible Karakum Canal that drained the water from the Surya Daya River, leading to the death of the Aral Sea!! As we speak, Turkey has built a horrible dam at the headwaters of the Euphrates River -already leading to the poor thing drying up and likely exacerbating Iraq's violence. At least the U.S deposed Saddam who drained the Basra Marshes. As far as I know last time I checked they were recovering nicely from restoration efforts.

@SSL. Yeah, maybe we should abandon capitalism, because communism has always worked so well in places like Cuba, Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union, North Korea etc.

Malone is a bull. But he can pick whatever animal he wants to be. Like his dad. The sea otter.

How big is that park acres. Or mile wise
From National Park Service website, about 145 square miles. By contrast, Grand Canyon National Park is about 1900 square miles.

Funny
How did they get the shots of the saguaros falling 😭
NARRATOR SOUNDS TOO MELODRAMATIC.

Do nature video producers allllll get their horrible soundtracks from the same place?
