When we came back from this trip, I stumbled into a book called "Frontier Fighter: The autobiography of George W. Coe who fought and rode with Billy the Kid." If you want a little history of the region, including info about the "Lincoln County War" it is a great resource.

My parents took me to the caverns when I was about 5. That would have been 70 years ago.. yes, I am that old. The open caverns only went as far as the cafeteria back then. I still remember the cafeteria and the elevator that took forever to reach the top. Thanks for the happy memory.

yall made me so home sick. I grew up in El Paso and we would road trip it all summer all over the place up to Taos where my dad went to High school, camping in the mountains of new mexico. WE were always going to lunch at La Posta one of my favorites. Alpine marfa ft davis was a great meeting place to meet up with grandparents and cousins from Midland Odessa area, Carlsbad was an other favorite. I love it in the summer where it is just unbearably hot outside but you go into the cavern and the temp drop is just right. Thanks for the video!

13:26 The cave where you can just see the big room and go up again, I love. When I had a panic attack in a cave, it was packed with people. Low ceilings and a lines going in and lines going out, having to turn sideways.
I wasn’t 50 feet in when I just fainted and totally embarrassed my 13yr old son and his father !
Just a nightmare from Hell!! I never recovered the rest of the day. So I went to the hotel.

We recently took a road trip through eastern Texas, through Tennessee and up to Williamstown, Kentucky to visit the “ARK ENCOUNTER!!” It is a replica of the Ark that Noah and his son’s built & it made by the dimensions from the BIBLE! If you haven’t ever been, this is definitely a MUST SEE FOR ALL!! It’s AMAZING!! I would travel that way again to see that again!! It’s AWESOME!! I really enjoyed you and your Dad’s road trip!! That was fantastic!! Go to Williamstown, KY!!

It is so cool that you are doing this with your Dad! Route 66 was wonderful! Have just started watching this one, but I’m sure it will be just as good. Thank you for the journeys!!

You’ve probably no idea how much pleasure you give to those of us who cannot make these trips! The relationship you two have together is so exceptional and pure joy to watch! Not only that but you have your narrated videos to enjoy for your whole life! You can share with your children, grandchildren and friends for generations to come! I’ve only one question… I’m wondering how much you spend on each trip? Would be nice if you could say at the end. Trying to figure out if any of your trips are within my pocketbooks range? I imagine RUclips funds help but I won’t have that option.

Thanks for the comment and I am so glad you like the videos! I agree that I started making these videos so that I could have a way to watch the memories myself as well! In terms of cost, I try to make a tips video after each road trip now that always shares the cost. I did one for Blue Ridge, Fall Colors and Route 66 but I didn't get a chance to do one for this video and I honestly don't remember the cost now haha

Love your videos! My 5 yo grandson is obsessed with the Roswell adventure part of this journey. Looks like a mini vacay is in our future! Hoping all the fun stops you featured will still be open :)

So awesome to get to spend time w your dad and see the states. I did w my mom at a young age, and my grown son and I go as often as we can.Last trip was to Cali and it was his first time in the state. We saw LA, SFC, bucket list Yosemite, Kings Canyon sequoias, and lastly, Ventura and we definitely put our feet in the Pacific. We’re from Alabama, and are used to warm Gulf of Mexico waters, so it was very different. Thanks for taking us along, and tell your dad that when you said he is 6’7, I was surprised. My dad was also that height!
