Keto dropped my 144 blood glucose to 91, hbA1c went from 6.2 to 5.3, blood pressure 140/90 to 110/70, total serum cholesterol from 210 to 175, triglycerides from 185 to 67, no more cardiac inverted T-waves, and my PSA prostate cancer test went from 12 down to 6 - normal is under 4. Also lost 45 lbs.
Took 9 months to get all of these results, blood pressure took the longest.

PSA test doesn't give any other reliable information, other than that you have a prostate. It doesn't say if you have a cancer, and people who do have it have their values at any random point of the scale. In general no one should test it if there are no other symptoms. Looking at all the people operated, the operation does not lengthen your lifespan - it does make 30% of the patients impotent though, or give them chronic pain. Great that you found a better way. 👍👍

@@JoyfullyOrangeDeborah Every night I have a generous 10 oz Pyrex bowl of FROZEN (not jiggly) sugar free Jello topped with a little half & half and moderate whipped cream. Just like eating a creamy snowcone in a bowl! Total carbs: 2-3 per 10 oz bowl. During the hot summer months, add vodka or rum for a delicious (almost carb free) fruit daiquiri. Chocolate version: Blended (then frozen) Hershey's baking cocoa with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a splash of DaVinci's sugar free/carb free chocolate syrup topped with REAL whipped cream. About 3-4 carbs. Add vodka/rum for a delicious mudslide without adding carbs (but you can't avoid the added alcohol calories). Bon appétit!

(Marion Boulden in the PHD community) My a1c was 13% (2015). It was still 11.4% when I went in for a heart cath on 3/3/2022. That's when I had 2 strokes and a heart attack *while* they were putting stents in. I started a ketogenic diet as soon as they allowed me to eat in the hospital, which was a b***h, because of the strokes I could not speak/read/write (also I was paralyzed on my right side)! The dietician had pictures that I could point to, so I managed.
The ketogenic diet I started on about 3/5/2022 brought my a1c down to 8.0%. Not good enough. I thank G-d that I found Dr. Berry's channel. I started a carnivore diet on 3/13/2023, a year after my strokes/MI. My a1c is now 6.1% after nine months on carnivore (still got some work to do), and my fasting insulin is now 7.7. I started keto about 4/5 years ago to try and improve ME/CFS which I had suffered from since 2005. I was so severe that for many years I was bedbound and later housebound with the odd trip out. But I struggled to get into ketosis and wasn't losing weight - exercise/activity makes ME worse.
In January 2023 I hopped on the scales and was horrified to see I was 16 stone and a size 20/22 UK. I asked hubby to just cook me meat with eggs - nothing else except maybe some fish now and then. He struggled not to add veg to my plate but we got there!
Today, at 64, I feel better than I did since my 30's! My fatigue, brain fog and joint aches have gone. I am no longer bedbound or housebound and am doing heavy DIY and gardening. I am also working with my horses again - mucking out, training, etc.
In just one year I have dropped down to 12 1/2 stone (Huzzah!) and I'm a UK size 12/14. Needless to say I feel smug and healthy!
I got my bloods done last week and my results a couple of days ago. Liver and kidney function = perfect. Thyroid = perfect. In fact everything was good except I was high in vitamin D - in Scotland! 😂 So reduce the supplements...
Best of all, they didn't bother doing my cholestoral/triglycerides etc because I have been brutally honest with my doctors/nurses and told them as long as everything else is good I'm not worried. They know about my diet and have been asking what it involves- taking notes and being interested in what i eat. I've only had one doctor tell me I'm going to die from a heart attack or stroke but that was 18 months ago and over the phone so I couldnt drop the trygliceride mic drop in person.
I know I'm not the only one who's doing well, but they can't ignore the improvements to my health AND appearance over the years.
I just check in with Dr Berry every now and then to keep myself inspired and on the right track 😇

I wasn't even as strict as I should be on carnivore and had a lot of slip ups (occasionally pizza, or a dessert, etc) but 3 months later my triglycerides drop to 159, ast is 20, alt is 16 (so my liver enzymes are normal again) and my a1c is 5.7. She was not able to stick with it long term, but she was able to maintain a very strict low carb diet. On her most recent test her classification went from a four (bad) to a zero (pretty perfect). Sorry I gotta ask. I started keto in September. Found Dr Berry very quickly. Quickly committed to carnivore. Shoulder pain from long past bench press injury quickly disappeared. Guess it was inflammation instead of lingering injury. Getting out of my huyandia at 6’2” felt like squatting 225 lbs. Pop right up now with no pain. Much much more socially confident. Recalling memories is strangely enhanced. 25 lbs gone in only 2 months. I FEEL AWESOME. I’d rather eat this way and feel this damn good than ever go back. So the question: I love reading the many success testimonials as much as the videos as a reinforcement to my personal success to this point. So…does ANYONE have bad reactions or effects to this style of eating? Because I don’t think I’ve seen any negative comments, only triumphant stories. Either way, it makes me hesitant to try again. I’m fairly lean 5’11”, ~140lb, so I can’t afford to lose weight. Also concerned with how it might affect my cardio performance (I enjoy a lot of running, xc skiing, etc.). The reason I attempted cardio was for the last four years I’ve been plagued by asthma, chronic sinusitis, possible GERD / silent reflux, and general inflammation. I eat a fair amount of carbs, meat, and dairy, no vegetables. My wife cooks everything from scratch, including grinding grain. But I do eat a lot of carbs - bagel for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, pasta for supper, etc. Maybe I need to give it another go. "I've got a touch of diabetes but I manage it well." But it isn't a little pill with a "big story to tell." My a1c is down from 10.5 to 5.3 in only six months of eating *THE PROPER HUMAN FOOD*. I hesitate to call it a diet because on the negative stigma of starving yourself in order to diet. There have been times when I ate two large ribeye steaks, gorged myself until I couldn't eat another bite and was surprised to see I felt no urge to eat the following day. Eating fatty meat has stopped my hunger pangs and not once do I feel nausea or even the urge to eat every couple of hours like I did when I ate the standard American slop diet. I'm sorry to say I haven't lost 100 pounds ..... yet. I've only lost 96 pounds but I feel confident the last 4 pounds will be gone in time for Christmas. I can hardly wait to show off my new figure to loved ones. I've eaten all the recommended slop for years, whole grains, low fat, non-fat, etc and I've been fat and unhealthy most of my adult life. So I don't have type 2 diabetes anymore, so I don't "manage" my diabetes, I kicked diabetes ass!

What this diet has done for me is this. I've dropped 25 pounds in 3 months. For the first time in 25 years my LDL is to low at 21!! and I've now quit taking statins. My A1C has dropped from 8.6 to 5.8. I also no longer have fatty liver disease. Since I don't have a gall bladder I'm taking ox bile to help me digest the fats plus I've added broccoli and some salads as it seems to help my system handle the fats. I'm also doing the intermittent fasting by eating a last meal or food at around 8 in the evening and not eating again till about noon the next day several days a week. I'll usually just have water in the morning now. It actually is fairly easy to do on a meat diet. These results just came from my annual physical and my doctor is amazed. He asked several times about my diet. He wants to see me again in 4 months and I should be another 20 - 25 pounds lighter which is my weight goal.

Even though I don't have blood pressure issues, no pre or diabetes. Liver is great also kidneys. I was dehydrated so must keep hydrated. I'm carivore/high fat, was keto for several years. I'm partially mobility challenged, spinal fusion. I'm going to see another younger Doc and hope she isn't as old school as my regular doctor. I fast at least 19 to 21 hours every day. My panel this past summer, HDL 89, Tri 59, LDL 160. My doc thought is was great (Tri/HDL < 1, no mention of LDL), no meds prescribed (I wouldn't have taken them, but he doesn't know that!). I think I am lucky with my doc. I do believe the majority of GP would prescribe a statin for me. I will say, my doc seems to be about 30yo, perhaps the new generation is a bit more open minded about current trends in nutrition. I am curious about my next visit, I have been low carb for years, but this past 6 months, I have switched to 95% meat for my calories. I switched mainly because it is so simple to just cook meat and fish and not struggle to find an acceptable side dish. Best of luck with your treatment, I personally wouldn't change what you are doing.

My labs were great when I was on this diet for about 7 years. My values were all great which surprised my physician since he expected a high-protein diet to be a problem for some organs. Surprise, it wasn't.

I have been on and off ( I try all diets for more of an expirement, I do not need to loose weight) carnivore for 2 years, but I have to wonder if for the majority of people, being in a calorie deficit is the most important thing. For me, the reason why I like carnivore, is that it prevents me from overeating and having a calorie surplus which with processed carbs, I do by overeating. I do not think plants or whole foods are bad. Let's be honest, No one that needs to lose 100 pounds got there from eating too many fruits and vegetables. With that being said, keep up the good work and content. I am a fan of whatever makes people feel great and healthy!

You have to remember that it’s not always about losing weight. You can be skinny and be diabetic. You can be skinny and have heart disease, Alzheimer’s, hardening of the arteries etc. I gained 60lbs eating Whole Foods. Grown and picked out of my garden. It took me 40 years to gain it but I did gain it. I tried being in calorie deficit but you just end up hungry. With keto or carnivore hunger is never an issue.

I fully agree with you. Many benefits besides dropping weight. For me, I like it not only for not overeating but it helps with inflammation. If I eat sweet potatoes, I am fine but once I eat one carb, the flood gates open due to my own lack of discipline/ control. Really, processed foods that are designed to overeat are for most, the problem. At least they are for me. I can eat a whole bag of chips but eating 3 to four potatoes would be a challenge! Anyhow, keep up the good fight people. Stay healthy, stay moving!

Eating a hybrid keto/paleo/carnivore diet (I just kind of alternate based on how I feel) my ultimate rule has been simple whole foods only- zero grain/sugar and zero processed food (keto tortillas/bars/pretzels/no flour like almond flour). I just eat meat, fish, egg, cheese and sometimes veg and sweet potato or squash if I do want carbs (usually when Im running alot, I just feel like it sometimes). Following this my weight dropped from 190lbs to 150lbs and has stayed there +/- .2lbs every single morning for months. Some days I skip meals/fast if I am not hungry and other days I shovel food in all day long. Zero tracking or calorie counting, i just eat what I want when I feel like it but weight is totally locked in within half a lb. The crazy thing is ive gradually gone down 4 notches on a 32 waist belt despite my weight staying the same, so I know my body is recompositioning itself, replacing fat with muscle. As a grain/sugar burner I always thought getting shredded meant having to follow crazy cycles of bulking and cutting, but without the grain messing up insulin/leptin/grhelin function it just seems to come naturally. I do carnivore for stints of time but also love a lot of veggies roasted with butter and sea salt or grassfed beef sauteed with onions and ginger. The grains seemed to be what caused my fatness/arthritis and health issues so I am happy with my eclectic hybrid keto/paleo/carnivore diet.

Been on Ketovore w intermittent fasting for almost 4 months. Didn't really have any major health issues (that I am aware of) that had a miracle turn around like some others.
However, I did lose about 30 pounds in the first 3 months. Now at my lowest weight since my sophomore year of college (15 years ago). Sleeping better, feeling less tired throughout the day, improved mood... those are all related, surely. Overall I feel really good apart from a lingering back issue that is likely posture related.. no cure there from this diet. Not that I expected it to!
I'm not a diet person. I love meat, and I have never been a big breakfast person. I love candy and ice cream and carbs. It's been a pretty easy diet to stick to and I don't plan to go back to a high carb diet. Minimal cravings and not often hungry. One meal a day once or twice a week and it's no big deal.
The downside is I had to buy a whole new wardrobe. Went from a 2XL shirt to a L, size 38 waist to a 34... still need a belt.

My doctor said "Even though your CAC score is good, your cholesterol level is quite high, your body seems to be doing a good job of managing it". At the end of August, I learned through some labs that I had an A1C of 13.5, diabetes with fasting blood glucose of 320, fatty liver, metabolic disease, etc., just from over a decade of being sedentary and eating sweets.
I went strict keto, or what might be 'ketovore'. I didn't try to simulate carby foods. I just ate meat, lots of fat, some nuts, and cruciferous veggies and spinach (for the liver). Was in ketosis for all of that time other than when I was on a trip for a week in November.
Now, just over 3 months later, my A1C is down to 7, the fatty liver indicators are normal, triglycerides are in the green, and blood glucose is regularly 120ish. And that was just keto basically. Little exercise, and I've been way stricter in the past with keto and fasting. Lazy keto. Still grazing at night on jerky and almond butter and stuff.
Amazing what ketosis can do to reverse damage.
