The riff is spectacular, but it's the drums. The drums absolutely define this song. This is my favorite album with Lombardo. Ghosts of War and Silent Scream are some standouts as well
Now you getting it friend, when you feel like you're feling today, that's what this music is for.
I really like your honesty Bro! Thanks for giving music a chance, even though it is not the Genre of music that you like more!? Thanks!! Respect you.
My favorite slayer albumn by far
What's funny is that this is deemed as when Slayer started sounding less thrashy and more pop, lol. Which is true, but it's funny out of context.
Appreciate you turning it up. This and Seasons In The Abyss intro's are badass.
You need to listen to iced earth or dream theater for the Dubble bass drums
I saw this tour
hey my rookie channel, tnks from brazil, the best band ever for sure , weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
being frustrated and pissed off is the exact reason you want to listen to SLAYER
Funny you mentioned sounds like a wrestler would come out to their songs. Edge had a killer entrance to this song at the last WrestleMania, complete with lots of fire. Lol This song was written about "hell on earth", or the terrible things that happen on earth. Most people assume it's about hell.
well... for those times that bring you down, nothing better that thrash metal to exorcise yourself... and Slayer... is the right choice for that. Metal heads are cool, because metal helps you release all that pent up anger you might have while struggling with life.
Nice reaction! South of Heaven...raw? hahahaha, not a word that ever came to my mind when listening to it, it actually has very clean modern production. Try reacting to something from Slayer's first album, Show No Mercy, and see what you think then. The songs are pretty short and they are all good so you could listen to 2 or 3 in succession. I would recommend the songs Evil Has No Boundaries and The Final Command and Tormentor. Have fun with it.
Also, there is a Slayer concert that you should watch, it is called "Slayer - Still Reigning 2004 (Full Concert) + Bonus". Towards the end of the concert is the money shot, roughly 27 min in, during the song Raining Blood, where it does in fact rain 'blood'.
Raw doesn't have to mean "recorded on a single mic in a Norwegian dude's basement." I absolutely love Show No Mercy but it's certainly not indicative of their overall sound or work.
@@bkenwood88 yeah, that is another way of looking at it. When I hear 'raw' it primarily means production related, maybe it is different for you, no worries. Raw could refer to lyrical topics, type of language used, song structure, etc. It's all good. And I'm just saying if he is listening to Slayer he really should listen to their beginnings too, because SNM is certainly more 'raw' than SoH or SitA etc, no matter how you want to define 'raw'. I never said it was indicative of their overall sound or work. But it is part of their catalog and certainly should not be overlooked for any reason.
I think of metal music and the lyrics especially as the news put into music form.
Hey bro, its no worries about the current quality level. You're putting in the work for the content, and the more you keep at it the better the quality gets. Keep it up! Good song choice to react to!
Your Mic is distorting at the top end. Perhaps turning it down from 100% to under 90 or reducing the Gain
Discharge - Protest and Survive!
Your earring is upside down for this reaction!
Tom Araya (bass/ vocals) wrote the lyrics to 'South of Heaven'... and he's a practicing Catholic Christian, for the record. He'd been criticized for singing lyrics about hell, the devil, death, nazis, murder, serial killers, etc... but he stood by his work... It's art. It's not like those horrors do not exist... they make ideal topics for dark, extreme metal songs 🤘🤘Their intensity and extreme lyrics r what set Slayer up there as one of the best thrash metal bands of all time.
I second that statement.
Public Enemy used a sample from Slayer on the song She Watch Channel Zero. It's a sample from the Slayer song Angel of Death.

From what Kerry King has said, Rubin was VERY involved with Reign in Blood. Each album after this he was there less and less. It was his decision to increase the speed of Reign in Blood
Another band you should add to the list is Judas Priest - Painkiller.
SLAYER 🤘
🤘
Dissident aggressor, spill the blood ,and manditory suicide are must off this albumn
Spill the Blood is a top five favorite
If it was just the mac air screen not working, you could've just hooked it up to a monitor (or TV). The monitor and cable to connect it to the macbook would've been cheaper than a new laptop.
Bro, you need to check out “Mandatory Suicide” and “Ghosts Of War” from this same album. Slayer does have a harder edge to their music even though they are part of the same scene as Metallica and Megadeth. Slayer are the heaviest of the Big Four of Thrash so your comments are on point.
Louis Rossman Group. All he's done for like 15 years his company fixes Mac books. Pro and normal and he's good and fair priced.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You gotta read those lyrics - this song is not just raw as hell, it is literally ABOUT hell! It describes how people who never even believed hell exists are surprised to end up there, and the eternal torment, chaos, madness and despair that they are trapped in. I never thought Slayer was a “satanic” band, as this whole concept of hell is very much from Christianity - a place of utter hopelessness and woe for all eternity.
If you ever have an interest in checking out a different style of metal, try some black metal. The band Mgla has an album "Exercises In Futility" that rules, and the track "Exercises In Futility IV" is awesome. Their drumming is insane, just like Slayer.
Definitely a different style of music though, so it would be interesting to see what your take away from it would be.
You can't hook up an external monitor to a MacBook? I have a laptop where my screen busted, so hooked up a small monitor with hdmi cable.
hey kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk against slayer metallica=teenage band
This the last great Thrash album imo. Before it all went POP/Mtv!😅
🤘🌎❤️
if 1988 is your cutoff point, thats cutting out albums like Rust in Peace. also ...And Justice For All, since it came out the month after this
@@nim4464 EXACTLY!😅 My big sis who introduced me to Sabbath & took me to my first show at 10 yro, Alice Cooper '81, asked me how I could listen to that "shit" literally all the way up until the day she heard this "new band", Metallica's song "One" on the local rock radio. It was same when Guns & Roses & Nirvana hit Mtv. It's not really dissing anybody, friend. Previous generations said same about mine, & you'll be saying same about those that followed yours if you're not already!😅 Whatever Jam blesses you & yours is ALL that matters to me! May it continue to do so!
Rock On!🤘😎
The nazi lyrics came from Jeff hanneman
My favourite Slayer song .ya Goofy m8te from Australia
