Had girls in highschool literally bragging about (different) grown ass men with jobs, that she could text to bring her fast food for lunch. Every kid in class thought it was cool. Another girl was openly dating a 30+ yo. I finished highschool less than like 8 years ago. Thinking back I always wonder wtf all the adults where doing to let this shit happen

Which adults? Most of the moms of the girls in your school did the same when they were young. Most of your teachers were women that also did the same and shared in the fantasy.

Damn. I knew a few like that, but not to that degree. Ffs, even my lil cousin and her baby dad...are too far apart in age for it to be normal. I remember not thinking it was cool, but just the fact that nothing can be done about it because her parents allowed it. She was like 14 and staying at his house while he was an adult. Bruh. And this was forever ago. Probably about 20 years now. There was a weird double standard too. Like other older dudes would hit on her, or even slightly older guys but still underaged, and everyone in my friend group would tell em to F off and call em creepy. But her actual bf, thats just allowed. It's all messed up.

Most predators know to pursue kids who don't have adults looking out for them (due to neglect or lack of time/resources)

Yeah true. It's a good thing a lot of it is getting weeded out. Coz back in the day it would go under the radar. So the whole social media thing has been a blessing and curse. Coz social media allows more access for these things to happen but simultaneously means it's harder for these creeps to go under the radar when there's more open discussion about it and paper trails everywhere.

I worked weekend night shift in a hotel. I ended up becoming an informant after one particularly terrible situation I witnessed - a girl with her WHOLE FACE beaten and bleeding being ushered down a back staircase, escorted by another girl, a scary dude and a pitbull. They didn't expect me to be in the staircase and I DAMN sure didn't expect to see what I saw. They had her in a van and on the move before I could even get to the desk to call police. AWFUL. EVIL. I actually now firmly believe there were employees on staff (security, night shift manager) who were paid to cover that ish up and keep me and other front desk employees from knowing about it. I have empathy for Preach and can validate he's not lying.

Of course he isn't the only one. It happens everyday. I remember years ago a story coming out on how depressed and suicidal Facebook or Twitter employees were who were in the monitoring department. They have to see so many post or videos with kids, killings, violence, self harm, and other things everyday. The worst part is the NDA because they aren't even allowed to talk about it with anyone except maybe a therapist hired by the company if they even do that for them. They have to see all this stuff and just keep everything inside. I wouldn't do the job. It isn't worth my mental health.

How do I know it didn't get creepy? She told us all about it. If he was doing a meet-up somewhere, she asked US to take her and be part of it. If he was doing a show, she wanted us to go. All the years, never a red flag, or even yellow.

Whispers was an 18+ app, and they clearly didn't want the headline to get out that their age verication had been circumvented by a 17 year old or their public image to be damaged by scandal.

A lot of pedos have moved online. It’s a lot easier to conceal your identity and gain access to children without adults knowing. Every social media platform makes it extremely easy to put in a fake age, use someone else’s profile picture, etc. There apps such as wizz and yubo which promote themselves as child “friend making” apps when they’re really just dating/ grooming apps for kids. I’m definitely glad that more pedos are being exposed and that public harassment is not as common anymore, but children are at such a high risk of being harassed and groomed online that it just negates all the progress we’ve made

I used to be a Twitch viewer, I used to browse small streams when I felt bored, like 0-5 viewer streams, the amount of kids streaming without any supervision is concerning. Some obvioulsy under 13 too (which is against the TOS).
I've seen blatant predators try to talk to them in the chat, like asking "What's your favorite outfit ? Can you show me ?" and things like that. I would always report the stream, say that the streamer was under 13, and would receive an email notification after a few minutes confirming the ban, so props to Twitch for being responsive on that end, however I never received any notifications confirming the bans of the predators themselves.

Regular schools and dance schools have different mindsets definitely. I had to learn the hard way too. Way back in 2000, 2001, I was doing afterschool classes at an elementary school in my neighborhood. Both me and my first wife would teach dance. Sometimes just her, somerimes just me, sometimes together. I was always more animated and the kids related to me me more, since I was younger than my wife, and I always allowed them to play around with me. I was just one of those people kids like to be around even when I first started out in theater and dance. So they would hang on my arms, I swing them around, goofy stuff. Some swing dance tricks I would teach them as well, so it looks like I'm just throwing them around, but they liked those moves.
I guess a teacher caught wind of how I was interacting with them and suddenly it became a problem. they called it inappropriate, as in... too much touching. Their words. They didn't fire me, it was just a friendly warning, but it was an eye-opener. Something so very innocent looking from one perspective is not from another. I think I stopped going to that school a year later because It just didn't sit right with me that that's all they saw. Not the progress of them in socializing with other kids, or just being more focused. And again, it never came up with my wife. She does things with them as well, same tricks and closeness, but it was the man that they were concerned about.

Honestly, I'd argue people are potentially oversensitive to this. Situations we'd consider to be Romeo+Juliette of two minors and one becoming an adult first lots of people are quick to call pedo. An 18 or 19 year old dating a 16/17 year old people are quick to call pedophilia. Even shit like a 26 year old dating an 18 year old people are quick to call grooming or pedophilia even though they're both adults.
I'm happy people are calling out these obvious issues. I get a little worried about kids and young adults getting caught in this crossfire of hypervigilance.

My classmatest used to do WoW raids with one of our teachers. There was nothing weird about it. They even talked during class about the loot they got.
Stuff like that wouldn't fly nowadays, but at the time, nobody gave a shit. I don't think it should matter either, as long as it's just inoffensive fun. There was nothing weird about it, just some random people playing WoW.

I dance, Dance is a very all ages thing with people across age groups sharing the passion. But sometimes I meet someone that finds that weird and they preface with I cannot associate with anyone below x age. I be like its only weird if you try make it weird. But people are to scared of being accused of something just by being around...
Although I've danced at studios that accept the culture that way however I've found other studios that don't have that culture.

      @@Ironystorm Yeah, it's insanely cringe.
I have an "underage" friend. We met at a funeral and randomly started talking about tech. Dude is basicaly a hardware god, even at that age. Testing, soldering, modding, whatever.
But if were to say that to anyone, they'd think i'm some sort of weirdo. As you said, people are making normal interactions weird.
The same goes the other way too. I have a friend i met at work that's 10+ years older than me. But we talk in the same way we'd talk if we were the same age.

I remember there was this girl in high school that I was into. Talked to her as a sophomore and she said she liked some other guy. No big deal. Senior year comes around and they had been dating 2 years, come to find out the guy is literally 10 years older than her and in the Army.
Nobody batted an eye. Her parents knew and didn't care. Teachers knew and didn't care. Everybody just sort of shrugged it off... at least until she got pregnant and he ran off to the Middle East and they never spoke again. This was in the mid-to-late 2000s, and people just didn't care that a 16 year old was with a 26 year old.

You'll be surprised about how little businesses do about this kind of stuff if its not that well known. Vans Warped Tour had ALOT of issues with that kind of thing, most notably the Austin Jones situation. Its nuts man. Hopefully Twitch does something about this predator situation

I'm not shocked. Content creators are narcissists by nature, & as much as we place age of consent restrictions, they're somewhat arbitrary by nature. There are attractive people under the age of consent in certain places, and whilst that doesn't excuse people's behavior, it doesn't mean people at large are gonna respect that.

    • @juggooslovenka
      @juggooslovenka 17 дней назад

well that's the thing. A normal person will look at that and say cool, sure that is an attractive person(assuming that they are a minor that's fully done w puberty; post pubescent) but that's it if they know the person is a minor and they'll just find an attractive adult which is easy asf unless you a pervert. But the thing with these powerful ppl and perverts in general, it's not that they are attracted to what looks and is like a full adult, it's that they are attracted to what is obviously a minor. They don't accidentally sleep w minors while thinking they are adults. They do it on purpose because the perversion of using a minor is more attractive to them than the person itself. Somebody like epstein for example, you can give him a 16 yr old vs a 19 yr old that look the exact same, myb the 19 yr old even better. But if he knows the ages, he''ll pick the minor ON PURPOSE just on the perverted basis of being a minor. Also the media only reports ,,less controversial'' bad things that these ppl do. In reality, the ,,teenagers'' being used by ppl like epstein are usually not the 16/17 yr old. It's the 13 and 14 yr old ones who are still pubescent and aren't even post pubescent yet.... So we give these perverts too much credit. Sure you can think that a 16 yr old is of age, but to make it seem like they just mistake ppl as young as 13/14 who are going to fucking middle school prom as adults, would be a lie.
