Marvelous interpretation. I once had chance to be right with the rest of people on stage seats watching HOROWITZ play this in Massey Hall. Dang's interpretation rivals anything that Mr Horowitz did. Not trying to compare just finding the most impressive phrase shape details of both these giants of the piano

His interpretation was largely inspired by A. Rubinstein indeed, although Horowitz was his idol also. In an interview, he said that Horowitz had an untouchable magic that he found while attending Horowitz’s concert in Russia. On the other hand, he admired the shining sound of Rubinstein. It was an genuine music, like there was no need to have a make up. Everything is natural, beautiful and honest.

Do you have a recording of his performance of Liszt's Réminiscences de Norma (Bellini)? Would love to hear that stellar performance again.

。。。a sign of lack of direction or confidence?

@@amadeushsu1981 You know you are talking bullshit. Foo Ts'ong got a third because of politics, and Son got a first place also because of politics. Now are you bitchy or politics is bitchy? I think politics here is a bit more innocent than you!

when you have so much hatred inside youself, how can you listen to Chopin's music and enjoying Mr Dang's playing??
