My parents were not well off, but I truly would love to go back to music and learn piano. I did cheat though, with learning music, I wrote the letters instead. 😂

I just started taking piano lessons at 74, I thought I was going to play on my mother's piano which I inherited but at it's first tuning was told the bass bridge had collapsed and it was not fixable so my husband bought me a baby grand on which to learn, as his last gift to me shortly before he passed away.
I have a wonderful encouraging young woman who is very patient with me. I am finding that at times my fingers do not cooperate with my wishes but I would hope to be able to continue to 100 as this amazing lady has done. Things do change in the brain ( I am finding out) and our population is scurged with demensia and Alzheimer's, so one of my many motivations was to ward off further inevitable deterioration. It's a fascinating topic, the brain and learning music. In addition, I am truly very much enjoying it, pretty much a consuming new hobby. And in case anyone is interested I really do see significant changes in my brain.
So sorry to the person whose mother stopped teaching adults, it's rather a disservice, but I do understand it would take a special person to continue teaching someone who doesn't align with the "normal" progress.

It has since, been my pride and joy all these years. More importantly, it is the single most treasured and loved representation of my Beloved's devotion and love to me. I succeeded in theory and practice to grade 5. At that time I was practising 2 hours a night. The theory, was definitely getting harder.
I moved on to train to be a nurse. It was my drive to care, but music is my passion.
Now at 61 I definitely will be inspired to return to my music. This lady is amazing. I thank my mother for sacrificing everything to pay for my lessons, my music and exams. But as a nurse, I ensured my parents had great care. I'm fortunate to have pursued the two things I love the most. 🎶 🎹 🎶 x
