  • As promised, here is my latest Sapporo coat with a little review for you.
The lining is a powder soft chiffon from the textile centre, they don't have the same colourway in stock but they have this one which is slightly similar:

Hi Rachel, beautiful coat. I have to share my bargain. I was at my local Walmart ( USA) last week and I purchased what looked like lining fabric to me. I couldn't read what it was made of but I purchased a couple of yards. I washed it and dried it in the dryer for just a few minutes. It did great. Today, I happened to be back in the store and the fabric was still there so I bought the rest of what they had. It cost me 14 cent for seven yards, lol. They may have just as well given it to me. 2 cent a yard.

It’s beautiful! Love the lining. I’m also sewing from the stash this year!

Lovely coat. I think the model on the pattern must wear a bigger size as the sleeves drop down her arms further and it looks longer on her.

Glad to see a video from you. I got so used to watching you every day in December that I miss seeing what you're doing!

I am amazed that you already got a coat project done. Your time management skills are awesome ;-). I’ve been spending the last 3 days putting my stash of PDF and paper patterns in an app in my IPad called Sewing Patterns! I LOVE this app. Who knew that I actually had 30 Sew Over It Patterns! When you take pictures of them and the yardage details, you can take your IPad or IPhone to the fabric store and have the details on hand! Instead of guessing how much I need and buying more than I need, I can now purchase what I need. Not sure if the App works for Android phones? Back to you - I especially love the lining fabric you used for that coat!

What is the app called? And how has it been working out for you? I would love to be so organized!

I see you called the app (sewing patterns ) I just thought maybe it had another name. So I know what to look for when purchasing it.

@@constancergarcia7258 - It's called SEWING PATTERNS and has a blue background with a white sewing machine on it. I just checked - it's for both IPad or Tablet! It's just wonderful. I rarely recommend an app and don't use many, but this one is so wonderful. I have about 50 more patterns to input. I just work on a few per day. The best thing is that you can sort it by dresses, tops, shorts etc. or you can sort it by pattern company or you can just scroll through all of them. The IPad app is $4.99 and the Tablet app is $5.49. Well worth it!

Hi Rachel, love the coat. My base neutral color in my wardrobe is navy so I especially warm to your choice. You amaze me how much you are able to accomplish. You must be very organized and not a procrastinator. Thumbs up to you! I made a decision last year not to buy ready wear did well with that, not perfect but about 95 %. This year my one conviction is use the fabric I have and not buy. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely coat Rachel and the lining looks great with the main fabric 💝. You can't go wrong with navy, as it seems to go with most things doesn't it 👌. Loved how you utilised the other fabric to make up for the lack of yardage.... clever thinking 😉. Looking forward to seeing your plans 😁👍😘

Gorgeous coat ,it looks so expensive.I hope that you might do a tutorial on how to line a garment. I am not very experienced but you inspire me to try sewing out of my comfort zone. I hope you are enjoying your new job. I look forward to your next video.
