Thank you!!! I’m new to sewing clothes and bought this pattern of few days ago. I would have never have finished it without this video. I’ll be watching it many times.
I love your video and the jacket. I like the pockets as you did them, it added interest to the front. The fabric is perfect! We don’t always have to pay a lot for fabric to end up with a nice garment.i look forward to your posts and enjoy your comments about the weather. Thank you
Really nice looking jacket. You did a fabulous job of sewing it. Thank you for the tutorial. It was great to see the way you sew the collar. I also find this type of lapel a bit tricky to get perfectly flat.
Super jacket, looks perfect, I love the pattern and the fabric. Excellent sewalong, thank you very much for taking the time to video it for us. Carole Hack
Ooh I have this pattern! You've bumped it up my to make list, love the way yours looks. I even saw that fabric on Coalville and am kicking myself now for not getting any!
Hi Rachel, this was a fantastic tutorial and so clear 👌. You are brilliant at tutorials and I hope that you do many more. I haven't made a jacket yet but as this is knit, with no lining, I might give it a go 👍. I'm loving your fabric choice and it looks great on you 💝😁😘
Nice job. Great fabric choice, smart yet comfy. 😊 May I suggest using a layering technique when removing bulk from a collar intersection, especially useful with knits.
I enjoyed watching this video very much. Thanks for all the tips and advice. I think you did really well and I presume that the checked fabric was not that easy to match up at the seams.
Hi, Jacket looks fab, I think I can help you with the collar bit you are unhappy about. As you were snipping away the thickness of the seams if you just clip right into that corner at 24.23 that will make it lie flat. There is alot going on in this area. This jacket is next on my sewing bench. I too will be adding length as I'm a lanky lass also. XX
Vicki Dent in addition if you cut back the interfacing to 1/2 inch on a 3/4 inch seam there is less bulk to try to get into the corner , you just have to make sure you cut the interfacing 1/4 inch smaller before fusing it.
Hi just got my money back so did the other Lady with no Apology at all I like watching your RUclips and when you mentioned Walton’s I wondered where you leave it because I go pretty readily to Walton‘s for my fabrics I think it is a great shop kind regards Ann Berry
Great jacket Rachel. I also have that pattern so I may make it soon now I've seen how nice it looks made up. You need to flick back you EDT on you Pfaff so it's out the way. Me being me I just kept looking at it hahaha!
I wish we could have chatted this weekend as we were both struggling to attach the front facing to the upper collar! It took me an hour to get it right.. Your jacket looks amazing by the way :) My medium weight ponte was not drapey enough for this pattern. I could have gotten away with it had I not interfaced the facings but I did :(
Susan Peach. Never made jacket before as collars are a nightmare to me, like you say instructions are not good on patterns. you make it look easy. maybe will get this pattern and have a go. more sew a longs please many thanks.
Aaagggh. It's great, I just think " what a shame you didn't pay the pocket pattern pieces over the fronts where they would be placed and draw in the stripes and cross checks. It's such a simple thing to do and it turns a home made into handmade. Otherwise, great job.
Great work. Meghan (Prince Harry's Meghan) has been wearing a jacket very, very similar to this & there were lots of photos of her on the internet and obviously paid a lot of money - yours looks better xx
Thanks I am not having a go at it is just when I tried to contact them through Facebook they blocked me they’re also doing it to someone else that has not received the fabric and they have not refunded her . what is this that you mentioned about PayPal sorry if you think I was having a go at you but this was the only way I could put it out there because they are blocking me I have had one purchased from them which came fine from the Sunday sale and then I purchased in the week on the 2nd of October and I got nothing and I’ve kept messaging them. And I’ve also been in contact with Sharon but now she’s not getting back to me last message was that they was looking into a refund and the I would be taken off the face book page
Hi Ann, your money is safe paying through paypal, if they don't offer you a refund, apply to paypal for them to do a chargeback and you will get your money back xx
Great job breaking down the instructions for the collar. It was so helpful!

Beautiful jacket! And cozy, I bet.
it really is Martha xx
That is a lovely jacket on you. So well fitted!
Thank goodness for your tutorial!! I'd been so stuck on the collar and facing pieces!!
glad you found it helpful
I like the back neckline very much. Very well done.
thank you Astrid x
I love this jacket. Good job! I am going to have to make one.
I made this in a soft ponte and it didn't turn out half as well! I found it really big all over. Tempted to try again having seen yours!! Well done
I think the big 4 patterns do tend to come out large, I am not a size 12 in RTW at present (UK sizing) but knew the size 12 would fit me xx
That was a great sewalong Rachel. I’m adding that pattern to my shopping list.
It came together really well xx
Great job... like the jacket 🧥
Thank you
Nice job. Great fabric choice, smart yet comfy. 😊 May I suggest using a layering technique when removing bulk from a collar intersection, especially useful with knits.
thanks Mary, I will try that next time

Stunning jacket !!

I enjoyed watching this video very much. Thanks for all the tips and advice. I think you did really well and I presume that the checked fabric was not that easy to match up at the seams.
it wasn't at all, my pattern matching isn't perfect but I'm happy enough with it xx
I’ve just bought this pattern so looking forward to making it. Do you have a link for Coalville fabrics please?
Love the comment about lowering the bust dart on the jacket. How do you go about lowering the bust dart? I’m over 20 as well but love the jacket
I will do a vlog to show you how I do it xx
This jacket has turned out very nice!
More tutorials please.

yes I love Waltons too, I live near Goole in a small village xx
Love this jacket - did you use any interfacing for a stabilizer in the jacket pieces?
Love it!
thank you Tammie x
Do you think this would work with non stretch ? Great tutorial
Great jacket Rachel. I also have that pattern so I may make it soon now I've seen how nice it looks made up. You need to flick back you EDT on you Pfaff so it's out the way. Me being me I just kept looking at it hahaha!
Bev Tooth haha I noticed it too when I was editing and it’s so annoying isn’t it but I didn’t want to have to refilm it!
Amazing I love it, but I don't think I am good enough to make one!!!
I wish we could have chatted this weekend as we were both struggling to attach the front facing to the upper collar! It took me an hour to get it right.. Your jacket looks amazing by the way :) My medium weight ponte was not drapey enough for this pattern. I could have gotten away with it had I not interfaced the facings but I did :(
I'm glad it wasn't just me, I didn't think the instructions were clear on that part at all Lisa xx
Susan Peach. Never made jacket before as collars are a nightmare to me, like you say instructions are not good on patterns. you make it look easy. maybe will get this pattern and have a go. more sew a longs please many thanks.
if you had seen the amount of editing I did to cut out my mistakes!

awww that's very kind of you Susan xx
Just wanted to say thank you. If it wasn't for this video I wouldn't have finished my jacket. The instructions for the collar where rubbish!
