So a month ago I s*** on your recipe for PB&J. I've since been watching more of your stuff and I've definitely come around. You have a ton of great ideas on your channel and your energy is infectious. I'm a subscriber now. That said, I have a proposal for a better PB&J. I put half a cup of low-fat cottage cheese in a bowl with two scoops of peanut powder, and smush it with a fork until it's the consistency of chunky peanut butter. The result actually tastes like peanut butter (I compared with real peanut butter, not the stuff with added sugar like Skippy). The cottage cheese just works better. It doesn't have the tang from the yogurt and it's just as protein-dense. You could blend it until smooth if you wanted it to be like 'creamy' PB. The only glitch is that it's too much to put on a sandwich. So I do open-face. A smear of low-sugar jam (great tip--my wife loves it too--thanks for that) and about half the peanut schmear on each piece of bread. Then to up the protein content of the meal, I just drink a 10oz glass of 2% milk with it. Ends up 35g protein and about the same total calories. If you had a peanut butter flavored protein powder, you could probably use less cottage cheese and get higher protein density, but I don't have that so this worked for me. I eat it often post-workout and it's awesome.

Hope this helps someone. A regular PB&J sandwich is only 300 calories with a lot less effort. I can get extra protein somewhere else with a lot more volume.
Omg! I love this guy! He has the BEST food replacements and meal ideas 😋 I've watched many others but this is by far the best channel for low cal high volume, protein focused eating!🤯
Thank you for the video. I'm a 61 year old man that still eats PB&J sandwiches a couple of times a month. I have peanut butter almost daily, usually with bananas, and I mix it into shakes with yogurt and high protein milk. You can also have peanut butter and banana as a snack or pre-workout meal.
Actually, that sandwich is working out to be 390 calories. He's using 32g of the peanut butter, which is double and a half of the serving (13g). Which is fine, cuz the protein overall works out to be 45g 💪🏾
Agreed… the calories don’t add up. You do get 6g of protein from the bread, so maybe he isn’t using all the peanut butter mixture? Why not just be upfront and honest about what is really going into the sandwich?

This is great! I never thought of mixing in greek yogurt and protein powder to make pb for a sandwich (I've mixed it with yogurt for smoothie bowls). I do make my own pb with roasted peanuts, salt, flax, and chia so I usually add a small spoonful to the powder. I also started making my own bread from whole wheat with sesame seeds, oats, and flax :)
Can just pb fit powdered peanut butter with sugar free jam. Use a reduced cal bread or keto bread with the protein in it like natures own, i stock up when its bogo n put in freezer. It's 200 cal for like 25g can add more pb and jam for more protein and keep the calorie ratio uber low
I really like everything about this Except the preserves. Generally, "No Sugar Added" products contain artificial sweeteners, and this one has Splenda. The same brand has an "All Fruit" version which is No Sugar Added and Smuckers also has one as well. The sugar content though is like 6-10g. Smuckers has a Low Sugar version that has no artificial sweeteners and no sugar added, and the sugar content is a reasonable 5g. For me, I'd go with that because I'm not a fan of Artificial Sweeteners. There are a lot of fiber powders/supplements out there to add as opposed to this one "with fiber," as well as things like Chia Seeds, nuts, other seeds, and avocados. Yes, Chia Seeds have some carbs, but it's fiber carbs, not sugar carbs, and they are full of all sorts of nutritional benefits. But other than finding an alternative to the preserves with artificial sweetener used in this video, everything else is awesome!
Great Video. That works for a Vegan like me, I just switched up the protein powder and BAM! If you decide to make Healthy High Protein Vegan Recipes, I would invest in it.
To give a little extra peanut butter flavor without adding more calories, you can add a capful or 2 of Torani Sugar Free Peanut Butter syrup. (I found it on Amazon)
High carb bread isn’t bad for you. It’s just high in carbs and higher in cals and you can eat less. But the low carb bread doesn’t actually give you any carbs for fuel so its just a vessel and thats it.
Get a Vitamix. Get roasted peanuts from sprouts or wherever. Do not add anything. Blend them up. Best tasting and healthiest PB you’ve ever had. First it’s runny like this video because it gets warm but put the rest in the fridge and now it’s like store bought but without all the junk in it.
How are you getting to 300 calories pb fit 2 servings 32g 120 cal , 2 slices of bread 90 , yoghurt 42 grams about 25 calories jam 20 calories , protein around 100 total 355 calories ?

For the bread, Sara Lee has "White made with whole wheat" or something like that. It has more carbs but way less than normal bread still. It is so much better than those super low carb bread options. There is a thin line for me where I will eat better but it has to actually be good. Those low carb breads are nasty in my opinion. Same with the no sugar option of the jams. I buy the natural jam from Smuckers since they only have 4 ingredients in the jam. Then I do the tiniest amount of jam on the bread since it has so much sugar. I am a diabetic and use the Dexcom monitor. This spikes my sugar as much as one cosmic crisp apple and less than one banana. Bananas are have SO MUCH FREAKING SUGAR.

So I tried this just now. It's about 1/3 of those containers of yogurt, and 4 Tablespoons of the PB2 for those without a scale by the way. It seems to make 2 servings of the peanut butter, which he doesn't seem to mention. The math doesn't seem to work out to 40g of protein whether you consider it as 1 serving or 2 (5g of protein from the 2 slices of bread, btw). My "peanut butter" looked less runny than his, but at least half of it just comes out of the sandwich as you try to eat it. It wasn't completely horrible, but it certainly wasn't good. For the 90 calories of the bread, I would rather have just had a banana. I thought this would make a nice quick low-cal lunch, but I won't make it again. I choked down the rest of the peanut butter that fell out of the sandwich, since I didn't want to waste my scoop of protein powder :) but I was sick of it already by then. Now I'll have to figure out something to do with this PB2. The bread was just lame, cardboardy tasting normal bread. I don't usually eat bread since it's just empty calories. I'll probably just throw it out.
