Why do I need a script to Smart ich unwrap when I can just press the button in the uv menu?
And isn’t your thumbnail a bit click-baity?
the reason the script works better is that it changes the process from about 4 to 5 clicks to about 2 so in the long run it saves a lot of time
@@karon99 Okay. Fair enough. Just out of interest (I never remapped shortkeys): can't you just define a shortkey to run the build-in smart unwrapping?
You can try to save the script directly in Blender directory

It doesn't come up with much, but the fact that future iterations which get better and better is exciting. Can save some base work time and allow people to just modify a model that GPT generates to their needs.

I did not get the same unwrap results, but it did unwrap. This was a very useful video.
when it comes to 3d, ChatGPT can only do very basic stuff that you can do just as fast without it, so...

@@jeannedark1952 we see that already, with movies being repeated over and over again, or cartoons with the same story over and over. same art styles, music, etc. this is just another tool that could be abused, but also a door that opens for millions of people that either dont have the time, or resources to get into fields that this will help them do. This could be a tool for younger kids to get into things, without having to devote years of their lives to find out its not really for them. every tool can be abused, but this just helps more people, find a spot for them, and ultimately creates mor eoriginality, rather than lack of. its like, the paint dump tool on any art program. yes, you could just color it stroke by stroke, but with that tool, you can fill the whole color in, and decide if its what you really wanted or not, quicker, and more efficient. open your mind up a bit. its a good thing.

@@nicolas8741 years ? It's already doing it now. All creative jobs will be taken by AI, that will free humans to do actual useful jobs.
We need plumbers, carpenters, welders, etc. Better learn some useful skills and prepare for the future.

Hmmm... Depends on licensing costs and feature restrictions.
Pay nothing for Blender, make a donation as a form of payment with no requirements on donation amount, help support blender by suggesting and adding new features you need, entire industry benefits, Everyone is happy.
Or.
Pay Nvidia a huge amount of money every month, with limits on features, no ability to suggest and implement features into the software, only Nvidia benefits from any features or plugins people try to create because it's closed-source under a commercial license.
Nvidia can limit what you can create if they wished to do so or were told to do so by law enforcement (restriction of usage).
In the end you have a product you do not own, can't benefit from features that other industry users create themselves, everyone loses out except Nvidia.
Hmmmmm....
I wonder which option I'm going to choose as a costs conscious 3D Design team that needs maximum flexibility and control over my workflow and may wish to benefit from features that my friends develop at other non-competing businesses?
