Will look into the site you mentioned but I'm with bigcartel at the moment. However looking to switch to shopify when I can afford it!

Good luck on your Etsy journey 🍀 I opened a store in October of 2020, and have been Soooo confused about how all the fees & payments work! Luckily, so far I’ve come out ahead (I only lost money on one transaction because I underestimated the cost of shipping). But I’m watching this video in hopes that I will gain some knowledge & never lose money again! Also, I’m nervous about how to do my taxes next year!!

Thanks for the update!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 This is great! The only fee that is missing (as of May 2020) is the off-site advertising fee of 15%. That is not optional for beginners, we would be charged 15% ADDITIONAL for every item sold. That would make, roughly, total fees of $0.45 plus 23% off each product we sell ( without renewal or multi-items fees). After a year of sales, we can have the option to opt out for the off-site advertisement. So far, nobody has that option as they just instated this fee in 2020. I hope this helps.

I think in the interest of full disclosure, Etsyshould be itemizing these fees on our receipts. Instead of simply listing the order total. (Item plus tax) Because that is not our true revenue from the sale. And when they list our “revenue” in the stats, it should be listed as what we actually made after all the fees were taken out. Because that’s our true revenue.

Best advice would be to add the fees into your products or split it through the shipping and price to make up that loss. Thanks for helping me understand where I was going wrong!

Your shop is off to a great start. I see you already have some sales which is great - one tip I can give you is to go look at how your buyers are finding you / landing on your listings (aka what keywords/phrases are they using in the search) and then update your listings to have those keywords/phrases.

@@krazyspartanodst I use Instagram to promote and do private sales via PayPal invoicing. Still get fees, but don't have Etsy fees on top!

Amazing video! Thank creating this video ! I need videos where the RUclipsr is patient and does not rush through explaining Etsy. I was wondering do you have a video where you take your time explaining how to combine orders ? I’ve seen a couple and they usually rush throughout the video or they don’t show and sample of it. I need a visual video of the process thank you for your patience!

Thanks for the info , alot of people complain about Etsy fees but if you look at Amazon charging $40 a month plus 15% seller fee and other miscellaneous charges Etsy is lovely
