Hi, my question is in regards to including shipping in the price. You know as you mentioned people love to see free shipping & expect it. How would one go about making something like that work for international shipping such as UK especially if it’s trying to factor it into the price where shipping varies by location? Thank you 🙏🏾
@@EssetinoMedia Hehe yeah, I'm sure it has helped a lot of people like me :) But Etsy says you are charging more for shipping, is it because we added manually? Sorry for the question
You have a long informational instructional video But it's needed Especially when it is instructed in a professional way There for it is worth so much My greatest appreciations
This is great! Considering an Etsy store but on the fence. I am spending days to look at everything before I pull the trigger. Video very detail and yes, awesome for visual people. Looking forward to viewing more.
Great video! I'm a visual learner and you did an amazing job of explaining this very necessary part of Etsy! I'm in the process of setting up my shop and I actually chose for Etsy to handle this for me because I just didn't understand it. Now I think I can tackle it 🙂! If I have any questions I'll just come back to your video!!! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to share!
This was EXTRAORDINARY! The most descriptive, easy to understand video on Etsy shipping. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with the ones of us who truly needed it. Great job! Blessings!
I’m so scared!! I’m wanting to start my Etsy shop and have no clue what’s so ever on how to do it I’ve been watching videos like crazy thank you for breaking it down so clearly
Omg This video is so helpful. I was kind of giving up on setting an Etsy shop for my small instagram business just be because I couldn’t find any video that would help me clear these things up. I was so clueless and hopeless even though I tried to watch so many videos. Now after watching your videos, the idea of opening an Etsy shop is coming up again. Thank you sooo much ❤️❤️
Essetino Artists thank you so much for your reply. I am making hair accessories like scrunchies, bows ect.. and face masks to sell on instagram (you can check it out @y.sew.it) and I was thinking of listing them on Etsy to get more customers but I wasn’t unsure about how Etsy system works. If I am not happy with Etsy, can I just close my shop like quit using their platform or is there anything I have to do if I want to close the shop later? Thanks again!
Oh my gosh, this is the most helpful video EVER. Every other video I've seen didn't explain deep enough for me and this was SUPER helpful. Thank you so much!!!
I love the way you explained everything. It was so easy to understand! I am also a visual learner. It helped me out a lot. Love how you did the information about the US since it’s where I live and helped out even more. Thank you so much for this helpful video!
Im so glad i found your video and it was very very helpful. I just open up with etsy a week ago and honestly im still at lost, learning as i go. Again, thank you so so much for explaining it. I can understand and easy to follow video of yours.🥰

This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much. You were definitely right about other articles and videos not quite going into detail like some of us are looking for
You are absolutely amazing and thorough when you explain. You took your time so that we can understand. I hope you have a video on Pricing. I think you would be excellent. I have looked at quite a few videos, but I feel you would be extremely thorough.
Thanks for this amazing feedback! Working on the pricing video. I'm testing out a tool thats kinda like a profit calculator which could help with how to price your items...so it's coming!
Hey girl!! THANK YOU so much for posting this & for the thorough explanation!! I was so stumpled prior to finding your page. I still have to tweak some things but I have so much of a better understanding after watching your vid! And I was never once bored or confused!!
Ahhh, thank you! Wish I saw this yesterday as I sold my first item and it was 2 items to 1 person with a different weight for each, so it was extra confusing. I believe they were overcharged for shipping since I selected etsy to calculate it for me. But luckily it was just 1 order and then I watched this.
A little added info. International shipping USPS will also require a Customs Slip to be filled out before mailing and attached to package. Doesn't change cost be needs to be done.
What an amazing job you did. Wish I had seen your video when I first started, but it's never too late. I'm actually going to go back in and fix my prices. Thank you so much. I hope you have a video on pricing your products. That's something I struggle with as I make skincare products. I'm going to search and hope you have a detailed one:)
Happy to help, Karen. I have viewers who have been on Etsy for years and still find this video helpful! It's crazy how they don't make it clear when you are first starting. I don't have a video on pricing because it's sooo variable, but I can probably come up with some general tips and things to consider :)
Omg this is the best video on shipping I’ve seen so far. I have had so much anxiety with shipping that my ideas have been on hold for over a year. You have helped clear up soooo many questions I have had that other videos just don’t show! I’m in Canada and was hoping for more Canadian content (we’re limited on content here - lol!), however I think I get the idea with your American examples. Blessing to you and your online business! I believe in good karma, and you my fellow Canadian deserve the moon! Thank you! Thank you!🙏 New Sub.
Thank you for taking time to do these videos. It's especially difficult to find Canadian-specific information and, as you know, our shipping costs are incredibly high here. So high, that it's cheaper to buy from the UK and Australia than it is from the other side of the country. Ugh.
That was awesome. Thank you so much. I am in Canada and I am ready to open my shop, but I've been prolonging it due to shipping and not knowing really what to do except for by a scale and wet and figure it out which is what you've shown is basically what I had in my mind but you know I'm sure you're a victim of this as well self doub, she gotta do your research and you know what it's just better to do the research on everything as you even said in your video, so yeah awesome thanks gir
This was such a big help!!! Thank you so much for doing this much detail. Everything you said made perfect sense and I kept saying "Oh yeah duh that is smart." It was all very clear and even though once I heard your steps to figure out shipping I knew that is what I should be doing....I didn't realize I should be doing that, lol. This will help me a ton since I am relaunching my shop and struggled with shipping in the past.
Here is my question: You do not know where you are going to ship it when you set your shipping price. So how do you put in a zip code to get your cost?
Yes you won't know exact, but can take estimations based on maximum shipping costs within the US/Canada/International. So if you live in the USA...a southwest state, for example. Then you can calculate the shipping cost to the farthest point, a zipcode in NY for example and put that as your blanket USA shipping price. It's not going to be exact, you're right. But you have to cover your costs and you can also always adjust pricing once you actually experience customers purchasing from different parts of the world.

If you have any advice on shipping 3x3 stickers I would appreciate it, I was planning on a regular card size envelope with a forever stamp? And not charging the customer...
Hello, this is a great video! You explain in great detail. I appreciate it so much. I'm just received my first order. But, not sure what to do next when using this method. Please help. Thank you
This was so helpful thank you so much! I was stressing out with shipping on an upcoming store I’m opening up for pins & stickers lol very informative and in-depth!
Thank you for the video!! It was very straight-forward and informative. I do have a question: so, if someone orders both a mug and a t-shirt, will their checkout reflect both shipping charges for the respective items (ie. to the US, both the $4 and the $11)? Do you have another video for sellers to do combined shipping for different items in Etsy? Thank you again!!
I found this to be very helpful … I set up an Etsy shop but have not really completed everything, just because I didn’t understand how to do it properly. So it’s just been sitting there doing nothing. One question: When it says “Create Profile”, what does that mean, to name it “Shipping Profile” … name of my shop + “Shipping”? This is probably so simple but I’m just lost.
Your videos are awesome. i have a question for you. I sell skincare on Etsy and one item can have 4 variations, for example 0.5 ounces to 4 ounces. Would you do a separate listing for each ounce so that you can calculate shipping easily? A 0.5 ounce is much lighter than a 4 ounce jar. How would you suggest that I do it? Fixed shipping or Calculated Shipping
Hi Karen! I would keep it on the same listing and probably just increase the price of the heavier products to account for the extra shipping fees. So the customer will still see same shipping price for all variations but the price of the item itself would be more for 4oz vs 0.5.
Hi I am from canada, and a newbie I understand a bit about the shipping but would you be able to do a canadian example especially on making your shipping profile.
Yes would be happy to! Thanks for the idea - I've written it down for an upcoming video. Feel free to join our Facebook group. Its for creative entrepreneurs: facebook.com/groups/essetinoartists/ We love helping others find and work on their passion projects / creative business :)
Hi, thats a very well explained video! Really helpful for newbies like me...I had just one question, how can I offset the double charge of shipping another item while using calculated shipping? Ive been breaking my head searching it but I'm not able to get the option. I ship worldwide so its much easier for me to use calculated shipping. I have to manually refund the shipping overages each time...which has also resulted in loosing a lil extra business.
Hi there thank you again for this helpful tuition, Do Etsy make up a barcoded label for you to print out to send to your customer? If not that would be agreat time saver but maybe a charge would be incurred:)
Hello! Your video was very helpful! Thanks!! I am about to sell my macrame art on etsy, but I am still so nervous about all this shipping stuff. So, I have 2 questions, and hopefully you would be able to help me with this. If I set fixed profiles, the buyer won’t be able to change the shipping class, I mean, using your example, the buyer would HAVE to choose the type of shipping that you selected (first class) right? And the other question is… yeah, what if they buy more than one item? For the Tshirts you only added .75c, but, what if they buy 10 tshirts? Does that mean that you would end up loosing because you only charged .75c and at the end you needed to purchase like 2 more envelopes and paying for their shipping too? Thank you so so much in advance, I watched your video till the end and was great!
This is super helpful! Thanks a lot for creating the video. Is it better to add in the shipping cost to the product and offer free shipping than to charge for shipping separately? Also, does Etsy get a bigger cut if we add the shipping cost in the product, or if we charge a separate shipping cost?
Thank you for this video. I am new and still on the learning curve. Each of my items are pretty much different in size and shape as I resale thrift store/antique etc. items. Very time consuming but so much fun. My question is...Since Etsy makes money off of the shipping costs too... do they penalize those that do their own shipping? Have you seen any evidence of this? I want to keep them happy!!! Also, so you use an online account with USPS and print out your mailing labels from them? Thank you so much for your information. I have been loosing a bit of money here and there because of my weights being off.
my question is. The shipping cost to send something out to let's say California is more expensive than sending it within your state or very close to your location. If i calculate the highest shipping cost for a fixed shipping profile, yet someone within my state purchases my product gets overcharged. Doesn't that possibly create a problem? Is there a way to prevent it?
Hi Lena, yes so to get around that, you can use the calculated shipping option on Etsy which will automatically calculate shipping costs for your customer based on the location you're shipping from and the size + weight of your product. More info here which maybe helpful: help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013946647-How-to-Set-Up-Calculated-Shipping-?segment=selling
Thank you for the step by step guide! Really helped break a lot of things down. Do you have a video on the sales tax that's the only thing I'm a little confused by before I open my store?
Thank you so much for your video! It's really helpful! But if i want etsy to calculate the shipping cost for me, will the cost double if the customer buy an additional product?

Ive been breaking my head searching it but I'm not able to get the option. I ship worldwide so its much easier for me to use calculated shipping. I have to manually refund the shipping overages each time...which has also resulted in loosing a lil extra business.
Hi there thank you again for this helpful tuition, Do Etsy make up a barcoded label for you to print out to send to your customer? If not that would be agreat time saver but maybe a charge would be incurred:)
this video helps a lot. Appreciated it.
You're very welome FuSheng! 😊
Also, does Etsy get a bigger cut if we add the shipping cost in the product, or if we charge a separate shipping cost?
omg this video was super helpful! THANKYOUUUU !!
Yayy you're so welcome Emely! 😊
I have been loosing a bit of money here and there because of my weights being off.
great video ,, u saved my life ,, Big love u from Egypt
Thank you so much for this video! Although I'm not in the US it is still very very helpful :)
So helpful!! Thank you!!
my question is.
Thank you so much! This info is very valuable!
Thank you so much for your video! It's really helpful! But if i want etsy to calculate the shipping cost for me, will the cost double if the customer buy an additional product?
Thanks for your explanation. What if we offer free shipping? will the shipping fee will be charge?thanks
