Mae: Potion Seller, I am going into battle and require your strongest potions.
Darth Potion: You can't handle my potions, have this poison instead to kill Torbius, it's Torbin Time.
Mae: Okay, what about the Acolyte attack on the wookie?
Darth Potion: Good relations with the wookie I have, also stop misquoting Ki-Adi-Mundi, he is covering for us.

Honestly, I liked the Coruscant scenes and the Mae scenes on Khofar. But, I thought that the Jedi "hike" through Khofar could've been slimmed down. I am sad to say this but it feels like a filler episode. But who knows, we all thought the Purgill episode of Rebels was filler than Filoni made in center stage of the finale. Time will tell. But I liked the Sith part, and don't mind Mundi living longer, just hope there are no complications for TPM.

My theory is that Mae hasn't left the dark side. The reason Qimir has been so obviously set up as the master is so it's obvious that Mae figured him out. Once she did she baited him to come out of hiding and kill Kalnacca himself. Go back and rewatch the scene where she takes the break on the hike. Then she will tell Qimir she succeeded in killing a Jedi without a weapon because she manipulated someone else to do it for her - HIM and he fell for it. Such a very Sith thing to do.

it’s more likely mae was too overwhelmed by seeing her sister and not thinking clearly enough to unravel the sith plot. it’s like sol said it was like she became 2 different people. not to mention it seemed she was genuinely afraid once she realized he was on the planet.

I love this line of thought. It would mean that Qimir is invested in the death of Kalnacca outside of his investment in Mae caving to her own sense of vengeance. The question remains, why would Qimir be invested in the deaths of these specific jedi outside of his job as a dark-side teacher? It must be because either he, or his master also craves vengeance, my guess is due to the murders on the witch planet, leading me to the Darth Maul lady as suspect one.

They cant show that because the only reason the jedi of the prequel era were making mistakes is because they couldn't hear the will of or use the force that well because of dark side shading. What they are doing in this show is trying to make the jedi look bad. The Jedi would never try to sweep the reality of the Siths return under the rug because of the threat the Sith present.

I don't really get the "there's still good in Mae" idea. She was brainwashed by her coven, tortured bugs, fought with Osha all the time, tried to kill Osha, then disappeared and presumably spent a decade continuing down a bad path. When was she good?
And then Sol's reasoning that Osha should care about Mae because "she's family." The Jedi way is to separate children from families and have no emotional connections, so does he say that just to manipulate her? Kinda weird.

Bit late, but i saw a DOPE theory on reddit that stated that when they took a break, Mae already had a suspicion that Qimir was the masked dark side user, and that Mae deliberately "switched sides" 3 minutes after saying she "wants this more than anything" to trick Qimir into killing Kelnacca, so that Mae actually ends up accomplishing her mission which was to kill a jedi without a weapon. Given the series' setting around 100 BBY, it is plausible that the Sith with the red lightsaber could represent a younger Darth Plagueis, known for his obsession with cheating death and manipulating midi-chlorians to create life. Plagueis' quest for immortality could easily tie into the dark rituals and mysteries explored in "The Acolyte." His interactions with Mae and Osha could provide insights into his growing power and philosophy. Acting under the orders of his master, Darth Tenebrous, adds layers of complexity and intrigue. The twist of Darth Tenebrous being a hidden Jedi Council member would explain his covert influence and strategic planning, sending Plagueis to eliminate threats and gather knowledge without drawing attention to the Sith's resurgence.

    It sounded correct.
The Mind creates imagery from words that have multiple meanings or slang interpretations.
These concepts 'sound' alrite in our head, but once they are spoken, it may bring a pause of the flow of Energy within the Speaker, while The Mind tries to find an excuse, or say something else to avoid accoubtability after saying, "potpourri punany" & "fresh snatch aroma" or one of the Many variations of 'sniffing beaver.
    Never In Less;
I enjoy your critique, reviews and updates on all things SW.
I hear Objectivity and Compassion within your Voice for this new SW series. While not sugar-coating your critique, you do give a constructive and honest review of this episode.
With that being said, as I was typing out the above paragraph, my Mind said that it is possible that the Objectivity and Compassion that I hear may simply be the Idea I have of You, as created by The Mind the accent of your speech and/or the Maturity, Experience and/or Speech training.
My point is that many Content regarding SW: The Acolyte has been very subjective and expressed from the moment of emotional reaction. I haven't watched these AARs(after-action-review) to sense the total lack of Objectivity as I can read it within the video title and the still-frame used for the video in Feeds.
They are done to create an emotional reaction within the Body and once The Mind creates this illusion(yes, the Not-Self Mind makes Maia) the viewer identifies with this feeling as the viewer identifies their Authentic-Self from what The Mind says.
When we look at this from the 'Man on A Hill' perspective, I posit that without Awareness of the conditioning and determining factors in this (backwords), many Human Beings in today's Society are living in Fantasy worlds of their own Creation in which other worlds are created within their own Creation and so on and so forth.
This is a great use of the Conceptualization process as long as One has mental-clarity or logical-feelings on the World's Within World's of The Mind.
Mental-Clarity is allowing the emotions to go thru its involuntary wave process, controlled by the Body like Breathing, and combining that 60%-70% Surety, with the 80%-100% Logic of The 1+1=2, Critical Mind.
For example: I have created a World within My Mind, based on SW Lore where, Man Kind all can use the 'Force' and it's Real, and Manifests humbly, w/o sound effects like the silence at a Rock Concert in Outer Space. I consciously know this World I created by Mind is make-believe and I exit and enter this Maia in such way that my Awareness of the Construct We Share is not distorted, ones grip on/of Reality is not lost.
Many are living Within their Solipsistic Realms of Dissonance by the Pattern of taking the Emotions or Feeling Within in the Moment as Truth and taking some type of Action from this False Truth given by a False Reality.
This is apparent as No One is all the way Good, and No One is all the Bad.
As you expressed in this Video, The Phantom Menace began here as the Beginning of The End of The Jedi Religion was not a product of or summation arising from Young Anny being too old and emotionally attached to his Mother. No, that was the effect felt a Century later.
The Cause is from those that are born with Power, are Initiated in The School of Enlightened Pompous Good, where they are Unconsciously taught the only Right Way is This Way and later they perform rituals to a Coonscious Omnipotent Invisible Light Entity and then given Authority by the Galactic Republic and Order of The Jedi Knights.....these Knights went on a Crusade to impart the Galaxy with their Order.
I do not need to summarize or, create the World of the Effects from the Cause, as We were given the SW story in this specific way as it mirrors the Program of this Simulation that was for Souls to Experience what Being A Human is for, hi-jacked by an intention of disregard, Conditional, Transactional Love, subjugation and Uncertainty.
I will Speak this into the Aether, also known as: Radio, Television, Internet.

She thought he sister and best friend was dead. It’s more believable than the guy you’ve known for 15 years has been hiding force powers. He’s also trained in the dark side and is a Sith master believe everything he says even though he’s lied for your whole time knowing him. Now go slaughter everyone you’ve ever known and cared for even children all in 15 minutes for promises he makes over a dream that may not happen.

Mae’s sudden switch is because of the strength of the force Dyad. She had nothing to live for before and was ok going on a suicide mission for power. Now she’s connected with Osha again in the force and doesn’t want to die anymore. It doesn’t feel rushed at all when you consider the force connection to Osha affecting her turn. Osha is changing abruptly now too and feels more connected and powerful with the force because she’s connected stronger to Mae now, and Mae is a lot more connected and powerful with the force than Osha.

It's hard to explain my concerns, I feel like the episodes are building to something that will hopefully be clever as a whole, but they're kind of unsatisfying individually at times. There are several things that come to mind. One, Vernestra’s response of not wishing to reveal this issue to the Jedi Council is highly suspicious. Is it possible she’s behind the killing of the 4 Jedi Masters because they were acting on her orders on Brendock? I’m also not sure all dark force users are Sith. Look at the power of Baylon in Ahsoka. He clearly behaved as a Sith, but was a Dark Jedi. I’m not confident we should only think Sith as the bad guys. I also wonder if Koril might be the Dark Force user behind this. She seemed to always challenge Mother Aniseya and I think this might be a portion of which we don’t know. Did Koril start the fire, save Mae, and create the opposite of what Sol created? Sol made Osha a jedi and Koril made Mae an assassin. I agree we already have met the Dark Force user and Koril killing Mother Aniseya would certainly bring out Mae’s anger and then blame it on the Jedi. Qimir being the Dark Force baddie is too obvious. I think we are in for real surprise that will rock our world.

I got a building sister vibe from Ohsa and Jecki because in jedi culture, that's essentially what they are. The show is kinda going nuts with the duality motif from Phantom Menace so I took it as an extension of Osha's whole thing. I also really like how Qimir's sith lessons are obviously sith lessons to everyone but Mae. I suppose it was explained that her relationship is purely transactional to her but Qimir keeps trying to get her in on the ideology.
The introduction of a red lightsaber does raise an eyebrow for me since Smylo doesn't seem to be there to kill the jedi but to silence Mae. I would be disappointed if they don't do a compelling job of making the Order look less cartoonishly naive than the New Republic seems to be.

Personally I think there is some really fuckery going on with Yoda. If Yoda knew of Bane's Rule of Two from a Sith Holocron or texts, they would be in the Sith section of the Archives that only Masters on the High Council were able to access. But none of the other High Council members had ever heard of the Rule of Two, even Mace seemed surprised when Yoda explained it to him. And we saw in Clone Wars S6 that Yoda immediately recognized the ghost of Darth Bane, even though he "died" around 100 years before Yoda was born. That little green bastard is hiding something from the other Jedi...

Are we sure that was Mundi? I noticed him right away and my first thought was, "Hey, that looks like Master Mundi!" But I paid close attention and didn't hear anyone address him by name, so it could just be another member of Mundi's species.
I did chuckle at the civilian robe gag. I mean, it wasn't a gut-busting laugh, but it was funny.
Had the "tracker for our tracker" line been delivered with a wry chuckle and grin instead of a serious annoyance, it would have been funny, too.
In the beginning I though Qimir was another potential acolyte, a rival for Mae, with only one of them getting the coveted promotion to apprentice when they completed their respective tests. But now it's looking like Qimir is an apprentice. Though I doubt very much that he's the master.
Did it strike anyone else as odd that Mae didn't open the door when the Jedi showed up and start warning them, or yelling for help, or at least denying that she killed Kelnacca? Lends credence to the thought that she and Osha are the same person, performing Force projection like Luke did in TLJ.
Also, when did Dooku ever levitate like that? I recall him jumping off a balcony in ROTS, but I don't recall him ever levitating, not even in TCW.
