Did YOU enjoy The Acolyte Episode 4? What are your thoughts? 👇❤
Mae: Potion Seller, I am going into battle and require your strongest potions.
Darth Potion: You can't handle my potions, have this poison instead to kill Torbius, it's Torbin Time.
Mae: Okay, what about the Acolyte attack on the wookie?
Darth Potion: Good relations with the wookie I have, also stop misquoting Ki-Adi-Mundi, he is covering for us.
Sorry, but it's just boring. Wooden acting, stilted dialogue, cheap looking sets....it's just not grabbing me at all.
Honestly, I liked the Coruscant scenes and the Mae scenes on Khofar. But, I thought that the Jedi "hike" through Khofar could've been slimmed down. I am sad to say this but it feels like a filler episode. But who knows, we all thought the Purgill episode of Rebels was filler than Filoni made in center stage of the finale. Time will tell. But I liked the Sith part, and don't mind Mundi living longer, just hope there are no complications for TPM.
I've been a Star Wars fan since 1977, and I have enjoyed the heck out of "The Acolyte".
@@user-zl9sh9mz6h I am enjoying the series as a whole and cannot wait for next week, I was just a little underwhelmed by some of the episode is all.
My theory is that Mae hasn't left the dark side. The reason Qimir has been so obviously set up as the master is so it's obvious that Mae figured him out. Once she did she baited him to come out of hiding and kill Kalnacca himself. Go back and rewatch the scene where she takes the break on the hike. Then she will tell Qimir she succeeded in killing a Jedi without a weapon because she manipulated someone else to do it for her - HIM and he fell for it. Such a very Sith thing to do.
Nice, I have yet to see such a deep twist from this show but if they can pull that off (and more) the show might redeem itself. (I hope so, because a lot of it felt bad and phoned in)
Damn….thats a really nice theory. That would be really clever. I would like that a lot. And it would make sense bc there is a shot in the Trailer where Mae fights against Jecki. So she’s not done fighting Jedi I guess.
it’s more likely mae was too overwhelmed by seeing her sister and not thinking clearly enough to unravel the sith plot. it’s like sol said it was like she became 2 different people. not to mention it seemed she was genuinely afraid once she realized he was on the planet.
It's the mum that didn't die is the master
I love this line of thought. It would mean that Qimir is invested in the death of Kalnacca outside of his investment in Mae caving to her own sense of vengeance. The question remains, why would Qimir be invested in the deaths of these specific jedi outside of his job as a dark-side teacher? It must be because either he, or his master also craves vengeance, my guess is due to the murders on the witch planet, leading me to the Darth Maul lady as suspect one.
One of the first things we were told about this show when it was announced was that it would go some way to explaining why the Jedi acted as they did in The Phantom Menace. I think that, by the time it's done, this show will go some way to explaining why Ki-Adi Mundi doesn't believe the Sith have returned in that Movie
wtf you talking about? he should not even be alive yet total cannon breaker non sensical bs...
@@feanorgu Did you watch Meg's video? His Birth Date has not been established in existing canon, only in Legends
@@mawhis he didn't watch the video nor the show
They cant show that because the only reason the jedi of the prequel era were making mistakes is because they couldn't hear the will of or use the force that well because of dark side shading. What they are doing in this show is trying to make the jedi look bad. The Jedi would never try to sweep the reality of the Siths return under the rug because of the threat the Sith present.
no. this is a one-step-forward-two-steps-back situation : the jedi behavior in TPM made *more* sense before this episode. they've literally introduced a problem they now need to fix, when they did not need to introduce that problem at all.
What struck me about this episode is that it really felt like it was shot on a sound stage and the set design department made the forest locations feel like a high budget 90s show.
I was disappointed the way they killed the wookie without showing the actual fight.
Did you actually expect results from someone who has no understanding about script writing 101. You just drop the screenshot and hopefully you don't think about it.
That is my biggest regret, not seeing more of the Jedi Wookiee😢🤬
The problem with this show is it drags its heels on pointless things and then when something important to the plot or interesting happens the show feels like its on fast forward, likes Mae’s sudden change of heart.
I liked this episode better than last week's. I am still keeping my mind open and trying not to formulate any judgement good or bad until I watch the last episode.
This is the way.
This is the way.
This is the way.
Bazil's scream when they found Mae was giving me "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" vibes.
They 💩
I didnt see jecki and osha’s interactions as flirtatious tho…? Theyve become friends imo, and have already been on two missions together where they clicked.
Also Jecki is my fav in the series! Shes been trained obviously but u can tell shes still a thinker/analyzer. She better live cuz she gonna be a great jedi.❤
Wasn't it weird that Yord said he's known Osha since they were younglings and Mae has always been her wound yet earlier he said he never knew Osha was a twin??
How did that go unnoticed?
I don't really get the "there's still good in Mae" idea. She was brainwashed by her coven, tortured bugs, fought with Osha all the time, tried to kill Osha, then disappeared and presumably spent a decade continuing down a bad path. When was she good?
And then Sol's reasoning that Osha should care about Mae because "she's family." The Jedi way is to separate children from families and have no emotional connections, so does he say that just to manipulate her? Kinda weird.
The term Acolyte goes back to the Old Republic era. An acolyte has no master but are hoping to earn one. Mae didn’t officially have a Master yet. This seems to have been her test to earn her the title of Apprentice.
My biggest issue with this show is the fact that they have a similar budget to a show like House of Dragon, but are almost half the duration in runtime. That's been my biggest issue with all of the Disney+ shows. Why can't we have hour-long episodes?
This is my only biggest problem with TV shows.. i want more
Exactly!
HoTD cost less and looks 20 x better
@@chibakutensei8799 HotD is Bullshit
This particular episode length minus the recap, minus the credits was less than half an hour. Shame.
I think, and this might be overthinking it, that Jecki wants to get closer to Osha to find out why Sol is still watching holograms of her, and displaying an affection that he has not shown to her. Jealousy and curiosity combined, but with very little malevolence behind it, if that makes sense?
I smell a Jedi coverup. They’ve been alluding to it with how much they hide from the Senate. Who’s to say they didn’t hide the presence of the Sith. And there will be a big reason why, and the Jedi memory erasing will become relevant.
I'm enjoying this series a lot; different things happening in every episode, keeping me on my toes! Good stuff!!
You have to be a casual fan if you think this is good bro. “Art is subjective” yeah alright. This show is literally breaking Canon with the force twins/ Mundi LITERALLY KNOWING THERE IS A SITH WHEN HE SAID THE SITH HAVENT BEEN AROUND FOR 1000 YEARS. I've been enjoying the show for the most part , I never cared about the high Republic , so this has been an interesting watch
When I saw all of the "nameless" Jedi along with the established characters I was thinking, "they may as well be wearing red robes..."
ensign jedi
Bit late, but i saw a DOPE theory on reddit that stated that when they took a break, Mae already had a suspicion that Qimir was the masked dark side user, and that Mae deliberately "switched sides" 3 minutes after saying she "wants this more than anything" to trick Qimir into killing Kelnacca, so that Mae actually ends up accomplishing her mission which was to kill a jedi without a weapon. I pray this is the case because that would be so so cool
How are Jedi not able to detect a powerful dark side user. why are they acting like a police force outside the home? Their force sensitivity went from ridiculously good in Ashoka to nothing here. Why is the Jedi so political?
Yoda or any Jedi got blocked by the dark side. Sidious like this dude clouded all their vision.
@@charlesthompson5645 TheForce think is a head scratcher. I think the meaning of the force was changed post the Original trilogy such that perhaps only the original trilogy is part of my Head cannon.
Because these are Hiiiiigh Republic Jedi (emphasis on hiiigh)
@@marknovak6498well yoda said multiple times in clone wars and episodes 1-3 he couldn’t see dark intention but all Jedi use light. Vader always knew Luke’s pure intentions but luke had to take a massive risk to put faith in his father again not knowing what would happen
Ki Adi Mundi had like x3 wives in the EU 4:03 so he was so busy emptying bins for them all he forgot all about the Sith.
Dave Filoni has a lot of creative control of all of Star Wars now. So when you see a PT character, you can count on it that he knows about it.
LOL "Sniffer Beaver Goodness that sounded wrong" I fell out of my chair!
Oh and I think the last 4 episodes are gonna mirror the first 4 but in reverse order. This episode was called Day. Episode 5 will most likely be called Night while episode 6 will be another flashback to Brendok titled Choice or Freedom or something the opposite of Destiny. Then the last two episodes will go back to the two part titles like episodes 1 and 2. Like the first 4 episodes represents the pulling of the thread - setting up the mystery. While the last 4 is the unravelling, revealing the answers to the mystery. You know, it's like poetry, it rhymes.
So the Sith Master will sing the witch song in reverse. "The power of many. The power of two. The power of one!"
I like it.
sniffer beaver 🤣🤣🤣 dying!!
The civilian uniform thing, I def chuckled. I've enjoyed the silly humor.
beaver sniffer 🐟
I personally laughed at the civilian robes reveal. Do you want the comedy to hit you over the head like Thor: Love and Thunder? This is Star Wars, after all. It doesn’t need to be straight up comical.
I don’t get why she has to wear a “civilian robe” in the first place.
I don't get the civilian robe thing. Is that from another story?
@@Lilac-and-GooseberriesIt’s probably to show that they don’t have any authority when they are on a mission with the Jedi
But like when was it mentioned before this that she would wear a civilian robe?did she get a run down of the plan before? It just comes out like cliche comedy being forced into story.
Bazil Oregano, incredible 😀
I like the Master with an Apprentice, and an apprentice with an acolyte theory.
If the "Master" turns out to be a Younger Plagueis who is still a Munn!!! And the "Apprentice" turns out to be Qimir, and the "Acolyte" in question turns out to be Mae; that could redeem the show in the eyes of most Fans. BUT we all know they're not going to do that lol.
Completely agree with your observations about the dialogue, Meg. It just frequently falls flat and doesn't feel natural.
I dunno... SW has always had really hokey dialogue that's barely performed, even in the best movies. I'm kinda used to it!
It was a definite improvement on the previous episode, but there were some very flat line readings from Dafne Keen (who can definitely act beautifully) and Amandla Stenberg. I appreciated the practical sets, but thought the Jedi chambers scenes could have been lit far better so they didn't look as cheap. The exteriors were great though.Bazil was fun.
@@MikeyAlterRed Yeah, for sure. SW has never been known for stellar acting quality, but I was more willing to overlook it when SW was fun. There's just something about this one that feels flat, and not even fun.
That little “banter” with Yord and Osha about the gun was painful.
@@paulgnsn554 Dafne Keen has a really bland voice, she was good in Logan because she didn’t say anything.
the hands look like qimir's when he force flung them and he knew the Jedi were trailing them thats why he was pushing Osha.... The writing tho...Mae just decides, hay my sister is alive lets talk to the jedi after you supposedly killed several of them and was evil as a kid? I dunno man
It seemed you me that Mae had time to think about it and struggle with making a decision. She just had to make a plan to ditch Qimir.
She thought he sister and best friend was dead. It’s more believable than the guy you’ve known for 15 years has been hiding force powers. He’s also trained in the dark side and is a Sith master believe everything he says even though he’s lied for your whole time knowing him. Now go slaughter everyone you’ve ever known and cared for even children all in 15 minutes for promises he makes over a dream that may not happen.
She is desperate, she thinks it's impossible to complete her task and that her master will kill her for that. Better take her chances with the Jedi
Mae’s sudden switch is because of the strength of the force Dyad. She had nothing to live for before and was ok going on a suicide mission for power. Now she’s connected with Osha again in the force and doesn’t want to die anymore. It doesn’t feel rushed at all when you consider the force connection to Osha affecting her turn. Osha is changing abruptly now too and feels more connected and powerful with the force because she’s connected stronger to Mae now, and Mae is a lot more connected and powerful with the force than Osha.
Refreshing to see a comments section full of healthy discussion and without the histrionics of some RUclips channels where they’ve already grabbed their pitchforks and lit their torches…
3:56 "This thing." lol
I like the idea of dark splinter groups. I like Mundi being in the show and that he is lying and all. I was surprised Mae turned away from the dark so soon.
This kid adi mundi liar needs to be more developed. If the guy just lied without nothing to gain from it is just weird/stupid.
Do you think she turned really away? In one TV Spot we can see her with a red lightsaber in her hands... so... i don't trust what we see here
I don’t think Mundi lied. All he knows is that a former padawan and/or her twin is killing Jedi. Sith need not be involved. Not sure why this is so hard for people to understand.
@@Darth_Jawa077 We will see...

Why do you think he is darth plagueis instead of his master darth tenebrous? Darth Plagueis was obviously weaker in combat than his master. That's the reason why Plagueis killed Tenebrous using a 'trap' instead of head-to-head combat.
Re the editing, Ep 3 ends with Jedi Wookiester walking into his home, er, for lack of a better word, nekkid.
Ep 4 picks up where Ep 3 ended and....Jedi Wookiester is AGAIN walking into his abode and this time he's wearing robes.
So he went inside, put some clothes on, went back outside just to walk.....back inside?
So I guess it's similar to Sidious, Tyranus and Ventress.
I absolutely loved the episode, it was far more entertaining than episode 3. Keep in mind it was far from perfect but I don't expect perfection from Disney+. But without a doubt Episode 4 is the best episode of the series up to this point.
Hey Meg, I bet the witch’s chanting wouldn’t have bothered you if it were in Latin or some obscure in universe language.
Actually, it might not have sounded as silly.
That’s what they should have done
Anyone who's bothered by the chanting has had the fortune of never being close to a cult. They love their singing as it's an indoctrination tool.
I actually like it. The power of MANNNNNYYYY!
Chanting in Latin would've made about as much sense as everything else in this debacle 🤔
Thanks Meg. Excellent points
I just hope that they planned this as one season so they can at least wrap it up.
It really makes me curious on why this group of Jedi doesn’t inform this to the Council?
They literally say in the episode, becuase the Council will be obligated to tell the Senate and they don't want that
So the plot can happen 🤔
Thanks Meg! 🙏
The force push was seen in Episode 3 by the mother. Is the mother the master seeking revenge for her lost witches?
This would be a great twist.
Finally got a suspenseful scene at least
The Sith swept through all the Jedi with ease. That was crazy
Sniffing beavers you had me rolling.
"A sniffer beaver" 😂😂 Meg!!! 😂 That came out sooooo bad.
Latte Yoda with the hair is epic...LoL. Thank you for the honest review and entertaining content!
Osha & Mae are still not being shown TOGETHER at the same time in the same place. Osha separated from the group, became Mae, projected an illusion of Osha behind the group, then levitated a Sith costume toward the group and pulled a disappearing act. Later, "Osha" will appear again outside.
I love the acolyte but not ep 3 the only gripe I have is there has barely been lightsabers like one with yord and one more with yord and the like skinny poison guy that gives mae the poison and one more thing the masked bad guy only appears at the end of the episodes I know we’re getting him in the next but still
They got mind wiped from the event possibly
Bazil - i love this guy! ❤🎉🎉 Strong episode for me
Thanks Meg👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌺
One of the most shortest live action episodes ever
Mandalorian was a little bit shorter, so chapter 2 (30 min.) Chapter 14 (32 min.), chapter 20 (33 min.), but yeah... it was short
@Elisa89765 Well that has to be incorrect because I finished the episode before 7:30 so yeah
@@Stormtrooper_Elias So it was actually shorter than mandalorain
28 min episode might as well just go back to animated show
@@dustinbrezina3965 That's incorrect but ok... your problem
Plo kooon was alive Mundi wasnt odd to use him instead of plo. Since it's Dave's favorite besides assoka. Making the jedi seem like the bad guys doesn't mean you have to make them dumb.
“Sniffer beaver” 😂😂 I love you Meg
There are several things that come to mind. One, Vernestra’s response of not wishing to reveal this issue to the Jedi Council is highly suspicious. Is it possible she’s behind the killing of the 4 Jedi Masters because they were acting on her orders on Brendock? I’m also not sure all dark force users are Sith. Look at the power of Baylon in Ahsoka. He clearly behaved as a Sith, but was a Dark Jedi. I’m not confident we should only think Sith as the bad guys. I also wonder if Koril might be the Dark Force user behind this. She seemed to always challenge Mother Aniseya and I think this might be a portion of which we don’t know. Did Koril start the fire, save Mae, and create the opposite of what Sol created? Sol made Osha a jedi and Koril made Mae an assassin. I agree we already have met the Dark Force user and Koril killing Mother Aniseya would certainly bring out Mae’s anger and then blame it on the Jedi. Qimir being the Dark Force baddie is too obvious. I think we are in for real surprise that will rock our world.
"... going on a suicide mission for power." 🤔 How does that work exactly?
I was hoping that when she said "its impossible" she was going to feign turning herself in so the wookie would lower his guard and she could kill him without a weapon, but that's not where they went
I thought the same thing. I thought she was being smart and setting things up but then it just turned out she really had turned that fast.
Given the series' setting around 100 BBY, it is plausible that the Sith with the red lightsaber could represent a younger Darth Plagueis, known for his obsession with cheating death and manipulating midi-chlorians to create life. Plagueis' quest for immortality could easily tie into the dark rituals and mysteries explored in "The Acolyte." His interactions with Mae and Osha could provide insights into his growing power and philosophy. Acting under the orders of his master, Darth Tenebrous, adds layers of complexity and intrigue. The twist of Darth Tenebrous being a hidden Jedi Council member would explain his covert influence and strategic planning, sending Plagueis to eliminate threats and gather knowledge without drawing attention to the Sith's resurgence.
It's a nice idea but now, considering how they've blatantly retconned Ki Adi-Mundi age just to support their thing of painting the Jedi in a bad light; If this were to happen they would most likely retcon a younger version of Plagueis anyway; probably make him one of those Kotabi race from the HR. 🤦♂
looked lilke jecki's horns were growing when she was talking to oshie lol
I am enjoying it. It's hard to explain my concerns, I feel like the episodes are building to something that will hopefully be clever as a whole, but they're kind of unsatisfying individually at times. Maybe part of it is that we are being shown things from a certain perspective that is not reliable.
Plagues was the master Palpatine was the apprentice and Darth Maul was the Acolyte
Well if you want to paint the Jedi as the bad guys, completely going against what the creator himself said about them, then Ki-Adi is the perfect character to slot into your cast.
There has to be a reason ki agreed to keep things quiet
That was the best episode yet, but the series is still overall weak. Hope it improves in the remaining episodes. The Mother Aniseya character is listed on imdb as appearing in 5 episodes and has only appeared in one so far. She most likly related to the Dark side being in the remaining episodes.
I think Mae figured out that Qimir was the person behind the mask and that to kill the Jedi without a weapon, she pretends to abandon the Sith. Ultimately, she killed the wookie Jedi without a weapon by tricking Darth Teeth into doing it for her. Shes passed her test and now can face Sol.
This episode was a big improvement. It gives me hope that this series can turn around. I didn't fall asleep in this episode unlike the previous 3. Hopefully episode 5 is better again. 🤞
Your Pod Meg, said all brilliantly. I agree with you 💯.
2nd 4 episodes will IMO need a more dynamic direction.
Ep 4 was thankfully not too long, but did end with a "No!" from me. Cliffhanger 👏

I don't know, I think describing Bazil as a beaver sniffer😳I mean sniffer beaver works. I have the same thoughts on the dialogue and chemistry between characters. The potential of this episode was huge, but the little things knock it down a few pegs. It's the best episode so far, in my opinion.

I agree. There's some black magic used with the force.
I love this show, it's so much fun to see the jedi a century before the stuff we are familiar with!
Once again, an episode showing that Osha is never separated from her droid, Pip. Is she really alive or is she just a projection? Notice how Sol says that once he has Mae in custody and back on the ship he will "explain everything". What is he hiding? Does he know the truth that Mae is the only surviving twin?
“God that sounded wrong.” First time I’ve ever laughed at this show, never knew you had it in you Meg! 😂😂
I don't think Mae turned away from her dark side. In one TV Spot we can see her with a red lightsaber in her hands... so... i don't trust what we see here, but i loves this episode.
Has anyone mused on Qimer being a play on 'Chimera'? I don't think I've seen it anywhere
..
I think the mother who carried the twins is the Helmeted menace.
This episode felt better than episode 3, without the oogedy boogidy stuff - even if it helped the story of the twins . . . anyway, if not for the end reveal - I never thought the power of the Force could be expressed like that. Still, it gives us something more in the way of a Star Wars feel. I would have thought that Mastewr Sol wouold have been a bit more aware ofthe Mask. I suppose everyone is suspect, but I am suspicious of that Jecki. Qimir may just be the Mask, though I'm bothered with any character with that much Force power. Maybe we're all looking at too many characters. I'm still a FAN for Sol, he does have something to tell Osha, I don't think he's playing with the devil ha ha ha . . . a visit from a BENDU is all we need at this point ha ha ha I'm not too crazy to have the Jedi being the absolutebad guys here. there are a few characters, like that Padawan trainer.
Did anyone else see Plo Koon in the background with the other Jedi on Khofar?
Sniff’er Beaver!!! Hahaha! You could hear the deadpan on your voice with the oopsie!
I don’t think Mundi lied in Phantom Menace.m All he knows is that a former padawan and/or her twin is killing Jedi. Sith need not be involved. Not sure why this is so hard for people to understand.
Hi Meg, awesome news update, I enjoyed this episode, nice to see new aliens, I loved the little beaver, and the way the sith floated into view, but I do not know why mae turned against there master so quickly bur I think the man she aas with is to small to be her master, I think it is the mother who survived the fire in episode 2, this episode was better than last week but I still think it will get better, thank you SWM
Why would Qui Gon suspect a Sith ? When Darkside force masters with red sabers and goth outfits are popping up twice a generation?
Did noone notice that the "sith" guy has a pretty dark skin, quite visible on his hands when he force-pushes Mae and the rest of the team? That detail eliminates Quimir being the one behind the mask.
Mae: "I want this more than anything!"
Also Mae same scene 3 minutes later: "I'll turn myself over to the Jedi! They'll understand"
Its so bad writing. Its silly.
@@AuntieLissi Its so insanely obvious that there is a hidden meaning behind it. Utter noobs like you calling "bad writing" when you have absolutely no clue about the art of a story is absolutely pathetic.

Yea the beaver sniffer was a definite nod to Headland.
Sol is the real villian
I didn’t even notice him I thought it was another’s of his people
I enjoyed it, especially laughing at Yord!😂 The ending was creepy.😮
Utidiiiiiii 🎉❤😊 I have to rewatch...I missed something critical
Mark my words. The Sith is not Chimera but is actually the Mother of the twins! The misdirection is obviously a red herring as it’s too obvious and easy. That’s the whole twist that was rumoured for so long. It’s going to be because the coven was going to rebel against her because she was going to let her daughter go be a Jedi and because she recognised that she had a blind spot in caring more about her daughters than the coven but she’s having her revenge on the Jedi for separating the twins painfully and arbitrarily. I’m betting that this story will not end with just one season and I think it’s actually turning out to be really well written and conceived and executed but it’s suffering from the same problem as every other Disney show, it’s just not satisfying to have to watch it on a weekly schedule and often the content is not served well by this as the frustrating part happens for the duration of the show. I would love to see a test of 2 audiences watching the shows, one consecutively and one concurrently and then scoring them and see which one gets better marks for satisfaction? Anyway, the Sith is their Mother!
I really liked this episode. How long has it been from the fire to ep #4. I think the twins which mother could be in the mask. Could she have been recruited by a Sith lord and turned in to an apprentice? She used way more power than a which should have had when blowing away the Jedi. Can't wait for ep #5
I'm really liking the series despite the criticism, my only gripe is killing off certain characters before they have been given a chance to shine more without giving too many spoilers away. I do hope we get more from Lesley too in the future. There I have said it ❤
"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your Destony, Unless you are an immaculate conceived identical twin lesbian. Then flip it like a switch, You can." - Yoda (Retconned)
I do not think Qamir was in the suit. I believe is the acolyte, apprentice or master. I did find some of that actor's scenes awkard. Sol was very manipulate in getting on this mission telling different things to different people. There is someone underhanded with him. A question is why go after the Jedi on Bradock with Mae now?
It seems Leslie Headland wants to bad to paint the Jedi in a bad light in her series that she's trying very hard to fit a square into a triangular hole. Also she's trying to be very clever with all these twists, is it Vernastra? Is it the other Witch mother? Sol? And that Sith "Master" might probably end up being the most predictable Qimir
