Dune 2 has some great chants and mystical music in a totally made up language that isn’t translated b/c it doesn’t mean anything and adds to the mystery and tone of the film. Disney is just lazy, stupid and woke.
They should have cut the flashback to one episode alternating the twins' POV's, probably later in the season. Putting one of them as the third episode didn't give enough time to establish the characters before jumping back to the origin story. And it was weird making to make it ambiguous about whether it was one character's unreliable narrator POV - which it seems like they are going for with Mae's POV on the same events still pending - but then why were there scenes the POV character wasn't present for, like the mothers quarreling and mentioning the jedi would object to how the twins were created? Are those scenes reliable but the ones with the children in them not?
One thing from ep4 that felt really tv, is when the sith makes an entrance, no one goes to grab osha or even tell her to backup…. So they can have the face to face. It’s like they all looking at the script instead of watching the scene. Then they charge? The writing is inexplicable.

It's really good so far, haven't watched ep 4 but that is apparently two parts and I hear so far the director is garcia who was underwhelming. But first two episodes were good and same with ep 3 i don't see how that retcons or would "ruin" the chosen one, as he was literally created by the force itself, not by a sith or anything.
I am gonna be honest. I was a hard core fan until like after Mandalorian Season 2. After that I just dipped out and I am happy I did. If I were to watch something like the Acolyte I'd probably be super mad about it and tbh I don't need that. So I am not even gonna watch it. And seeing the oerall fan reception it doesn't really seem to be good either.
I feel like this series could become a cult favorite after it's fully released. It is very different from what previous Star Wars movies or shows and I don't think we'll fully understand it till it's fully released.
I think you´d be right if the show delivers what was promissed. A dark side POV story. Mid season, so far we still get a jedi story, with some implied criticism, of the orders mistakes. Gess we´ll have to wait untill the end to judge if it will become a classic or just another show from the pile
They (the writers) are talking rubbish when they say the budget meant that the wookie lightsaber scene had to be dropped. And 130 million for re-shoots WTF. A whole movie could have been made with that 130 million. This is ridiculous, no wonder Disney is losing money. I dread to think what it would have been like without the re- shoots, could it really be any worse..
Which means poor writing, producing and directing. 4 1/2 to 5hrs work to have so many reshoots isn't a comforting sign. And where was ILM? The effects look 80s or 90s, not up to Lucas's vision!
Scuttlebutt from the studio side (Disney already canceled season 2 when they saw how poorly the trailer & PR junket were received) says they'd already built sets for season 2 and had to dismantle them because they couldn't use them in other projects. Real cart before the horse thinking, but it wouldn't shock me considering the apparent arrogance of Headland that she expected the show to be well-received by fans and easily get a season 2. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the money went into that. Risky move by the Acolyte team, and it obviously hasn't paid off.
That writer got ratio' d like crazy. Some of her answers; I actually felt sorry for her that they sent her onto social media to take those arrows. As for her answer to the budget and why the Wookie and Yoda were not shown, that was thinner than paper. The budget was $180 million but they had to cut those items. Where'd the money go? This is only an 8 episode season with episodes lasting under 45 minutes. Meanwhile, House of the Dragon is also 8 episodes but all (so far) over an hour in run time. Still VFX and set heavy, although the VFX aren't as good as the Acolyte; no open flames in space or stone and steel temples burning or anything like that (sarcasm). Like, where did that budget go?
a recent movie that was what.. atleast 75% CGI had a smaller budget than this.. that being Kingdom of the Planet of The Apes. Literally almost ALL CGI,, smaller budget and still looks 100% better than this? This is WORSE than a fan made series...
Meg you just made me realize, David Harwood yes i bet he is playing the retconned version of Darth Plagueis, in that anime mask who force pushed all the Jedi away; if you look carefully in that scene, his fingers look like dark skin, and alot like it could be a black man's hand. Also look at his arm, i'm thinking it could be him. I hope not though, if they're gonna have Plagueis appear in this he should be young and he absolutely should be a Munn.
The Ki-Adi Mundi storyline, seems to be written, to create controversy. This is just poking us, to get a reaction. Why do i think that? Well, from the get go, even in the writing stages people/fans were already complaining/warning that having a sith story a 100 years before Phantom Menace, would be lorebreaking, because it was mentioned that the Jedi hadnt seen the sith in centuries. Not only do they [alude to] break lore, they even used the very character who uttered that very line. Knowing that Feloni oversaw this project, doesnt mean the show is great, but it does mean that lore mistakes of that magnitude would never happen. Something will happen that will (at least to her) make sense. This show is dumb on a quite few levels, but this is done on purpose, im sure about it. Headland seems to get high on getting a rise out of the fans, by making us assume things first, and then at the end feeling superiour, for making us look like idiots for assuming the worst.
MEG - The budget for Godzilla minus one was around $10 to 15 million, that is miles apart from the Acolyte - it makes all 4 episodes look like they have been fan-made.
Still looks better than kenobi. And while i do agree the show often looks cheesy, i do appreciate the decision to use mostly practical effects. Ill take corny practical over bad cgi anyday
THANK YOU!!! THIS IS GARBAGE!! For YEARS Disney has been RUINING star wars. Regardless of how you feel about the franchise, the numbers SPEAK VOLUMES about how the fans feel about Disney 'star wars'. They MUST step things up or I fear star wars will DIE ! ! ! This show had a huge budget of 180 million... HOW DOES IT LOOK THIS BAD?!!??!? It is absurd for Disney to make millions if not billions off of this franchise and then for them to treat not only the fans with some garbage like this, but also, the whole franchise as a whole! This is seriously a huge stain on the SWU..! Ill leave off by saying that a recent movie that was what.. atleast 75% CGI had a smaller budget than this.. that being Kingdom of the Planet of The Apes. Literally almost ALL CGI,, smaller budget and still looks 100% better than this? This is WORSE than a fan made series...
Kenobi is way better than the Acolyte, I consider Darth Vader's helmet cut to be one of the greatest scenes of all time.@@therecalcitrantseditionist3613
I’m loving the acolytes. I love a good mystery. I’ve watched each episode multiple times trying to look for different clues. The people hating are always going to hate. That is their new job.
careful, you're expressing your opinion around the terminally online section of star wars fans. they don't like that. know however there's a lot of other people enjoying the show with you that don't speak their opinion because they don't want to deal with getting mobbed for it.
@@erickillian313... Lucasfilm is still producing Star Wars content, so... Disney didn't murder it. If something still exists, it wasn't murdered/killed.
Love this Meg! You keep it real. You really wanted this show to work, but didn't shill like it was an amazing peice of work. So much respect for this channel!~
It makes sense that it's Qimir IMO. I kept asking myself, "what is the importance of this dude in this story? Why does Mae trust him and turn to him?" Manny Jacinto did say he had to train and get in shape for this role....so to me that means he's involved in action sequences....hmmmmnnn...can't wait to see what happens with him
One of the biggest issue disney shows have besides the bad writing. Is the fact the shows are way too short. Both in run time and episode count. It's just really not enough time to tell a properly fleshed out story. Studios realized they can get away with 10 and 8 episode shows, and they are doing it. Now disney only does 8 episode shows and doesn't even make them an hour. With this format we are never going to get the quality of shows we want. I like mando seasons 1 and 2, but even that show suffer from this problem too. Imagine if they tried to do andor season 1 in 8 episodes? Or even 10? Wouldn't be the same because all the key moments wouldn't hit nearly the same because we never got time to develop caring about the characters. Imagine if ashoka was 12 episodes? We might have been given a reason to think thrawn is competent, we might have gotten more info in baylon and shin, we could have got more time with sabine and ezra, a huge thing all rebels fans wanted. Maybe show any ahsoka has a very different personality from when we last saw her. Disney cant keep pumping out 60% of a tv show and expect us to like something so stripped down and lacking payoff
Two of the "Four Jedi" Mae is out to get basically died for no plot reason at all. And two of the most wanted characters. CAM and the Wookie Jedi have both died in ways that don't advance the plot *at all.* They killed the big-name star in the first action sequence, and the never-before seen and highly anticipated Wookie Jedi off screen. If the first episode had led with a Jedi apologizing to Mae and killing themselves, that'd have raised the stakes every bit as much as what they did. It's just not a well-crafted, well-paced story. It's half-over and they're still adding more questions instead of delivering any answers. They're not building dramatic tension here, they're building frustration.
Apparently they've taken several pages out of Jar Jar Abrams' 'mystery box' crap, and are determined to present unanswered questions for no good reason
The POV excuse is hilarious. The POV is all over the place. And anyway, whichever Jedi is being targeted, that episode should have been told from their perspective as the one being hunted. We would feel connected to the Jedi, and that would at least have added tension and a strong POV to each hunt.
Episode 4 got someone with 15.4m Subs to talk about Acolyte after they said theyd never mention it again. And only talked about it because it was 100000x worse than episode 3.
@@cowetascore8476 yeah!! Apparently it was all done and the first test screenings were completely shot down in flames and they panicked and done the massive re-shoot hence the cost.🤣
My little group of SW fans is sorta half-assedly watching this. There are some interesting story ideas buried in this mess but it’s so badly scripted, shot, acted and so lacking in any kind of spark or personality it’s kind of like watching a really bad high school performance of an otherwise average play: just painful to watch. This one finally did it for me. I don’t hate Star Wars. Nothing can take away the bits I love. But I just no longer even care. Like a bad relationship, I can’t even muster up the energy to try caring anymore. You have an entire Jedi order in its prime during the old republic to show off and this is the best you can do? Even if the plot sucked, like phantom menace, people who hated that could tune in for the maul fight at least. This is like watching a Jedi temple post office documentary.
I went to buy a beef roast at our local supermarket, a roast for a family of four for one meal was $97 CDN dollars for CANADIAN BEEF. They used to be $35-40. If this is for a staple just think what cooperate and the like now charge to make things people want to see. Inflation is easily 40% of the outrageous costs and I stand by that. It is why this world is sinking like a rock in a pond.
Doesn't that Twitter quote say the Kelnacca scene was cut for story reasons and not budget reasons? To me, it reads, "Sometimes things get cut for budget, others for story. That scene was cut for the story.
So now fans stress out over budgets? As if they have any clue what it takes to make a major television production for Star Wars. 🤣 Yeah ok! I’ve worked in the industry my entire life. You have no idea how expensive it is to make a major sci fi production…the one look at the credits and see how many people work on it. This is art, love it or hate it. People need and deserve to be paid for their hard work at making art. Comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone has to compare this to everything instead of just treating it as a new Star Wars show to enjoy.
Please compare production, acting, script, postproduction in House of the Dragon with Acolyte. Remind you House of the Dragon has 100 mils budget for 10 episodes with 1 hour long screentime. This is 8 episodes I think and avarage is 30 minutes. Cinematography is Awful in acolyte, Actors are mostly unknown, script is terrible and divisive... 115 mils for reshoots ? Colors look like it was shot on a DSLR. Really please...
I have seen the entirety of every Star Wars related thing available on streaming. I currently am only continuing to watch the Acolyte to keep that statement true. It's just so unbearably terrible in terms of writing, dialogue and general film making organizational sense. I usually throw much of my pseudo-film critic chops out the door when watching Start Wars because I just enjoy it. Still, nearly every moment of this show feels completely contrived. It is a Star Wars caricature that feels as if it were conceived by privileged teenagers. For me, the only interesting moment so far has been the last 30 seconds of the show. So, hopefully that just continues? Thank you for your continued efforts Meg.
I feel this is what andor did so well ( at least in my opinion). The world sucked me in to albeit a canon character (Cassian) but someone we have already seen die, so for many they weren't interested. I for one, loved the opening scenes in the slums looking for his sister, not to mention the scuffle, killing and execution of the security guards seriously got me stuck watching the series. Compare that to the opening of Acolyte?!? Absolutely incomparable. ( Only way to combat this is by saying that andor had almost double the budget. Which, I agree, in of itself COULD invalidate my point, I feel that its more about the people working on the shows. Andors team truly cared for the series, franchise and characters put into said franchise. Look at acolyte! They literally retconned Ki Adi Mundi's age MID PREMIRE on the wookiepedia . I don't know man, I just feel shows movies games and media in general is just getting so boring,. These companies make more than they ever have yet they produce some of the worst garbage they have ever put out.
In most stories I personally dislike flashbacks, that is unless they are brief and only to get more information about the character. Make a story run in a chronological manner as if in present time. With a 180 million budget, a movie/series would be absolutely amazing and crowd/fan pleasing. The Acolyte is a B minus movie worth a 500,000 dollar budget max!
I sold my Disney stock after this because they are wasting money and that likely will not look good for the bottom line. This is where running garbage like this out is really going to hurt disney.
Plagueis was not a child at this point? Please tell me that was just a word fumble? I know you’ve read Darth Plagueis… during the period of this show he would’ve been training with Tenebrous, like he would’ve been a full grown Munn by this point
@@hunterstark9556 like they should have taken the book "Darth Plagueis" James Luceno and turned that into a Graphic Novel (story board). Then used the Graphic Novel to make a TV show. I also wish that Disney would make an Andor Graphic Novel out of the TV show. I'd buy them!
What is the point of this joke when there both girls and don't go by they, yall really were given a they them joke , a JOKE. And you thought that was a message when it was littlerally joking at the expense of they/them as a concept to poke fun at it ,lmao

the minutes watched are huge milestones for Disney due to the episodes being around 30-40 minutes in length, which is lower then most Netflix episodes, and the fact that these episodes only drop weekly, meaning that people who are watching are actually watching the entire episode, unlike with Netflix where they still see huge churn with almost all of their shows, this proves that franchises and IP's still matter today, Netflix simply cannot and will not ever compete with Disney in terms of franchises, IP, etc, especially since Disney also now owns 20th Century Fox aswell, Netflix has an issue in regards to nostalgia, IP, franchises, etc, and i do understand that they have tried to make some in-roads in terms of trying to build new franchises like with Bird Box, Black Mirror, etc, however i wouldn't say that there is really this built up nostalgia bias with those IP's due to those IP's only existing in some cases for less then even a decade, whereas with Disney u have franchises which actually do have considerable runway like Star Wars, like TRON, and like i said with newly acquired assets under 20th Century Fox aswell, and the fact that they even own newer IP's and franchises like Frozen, which are massively popular with kids today aswell, so there is already this built in nostalgia bias even for kids right now, not to mention kids from decades ago who grew up on other Disney and Non Disney classics aswell, which Disney now owns, Netflix has really not done a good job when it comes to IP acquisitions, studio acquistions, etc
David Harewood is the sith in episode 4, not to sound like I’m isolating skin tone but if you look at the scene where he pushes osha out of the way he has darker hands, and they look a lot like his hands if you look him up on google, he’s also lean enough to be the character
yea we don't need a Wokkie Jedi fight...lets piss the fans off even more with long slow starring at things..and all them jedi no sensing the dark side wot the fucks going on??
Personally I think 4 is worse than 3. I'm not one who complained about 3 that much. However when Mae suddenly switched sides for no apparent reason, I was just like "Oh come on!". That's like the worst story writing ever.
The wkly episodes doesnt work for shows like the Acolyte bc the showrunners doesn't know how to write and most importantly doesn't know star wars. And F Wookieepedia for changing cannon lore, u shills.
ST:NG was $1-million/episode, then the most expensive TV series per episode, while Babylon-5 was a lot less, but had better space battle scenes using an Amiga-2000 desktop for CGI! (no ILM!).
The "issue" with the Acolyte is it's written/produced/directed by people who aren't true/hardcore "fans". It was created simply to be watched and not thought about, and a greedy attempt to rake in viewership/money (otherwise they would not have spent so much on production). it's just like every Michael Bay movie, with a lot fewer action sequences.
Hi Meg, awesome news update, I am surprised how much this show cost, I am wondering what they spent it on because most of it could have been done in a forest and someone back yard, compared with Andor this is not money well spent I am sorry to say, thank you SWM
Yes, dropping all episodes at once would’ve benefited The Acolyte. I think it always does once a show has serialized storytelling. In the end though, all the YT Star Wars channels do profit from the one episode per week model. There’s much more to report on and The Acolyte’s mystery does provide much room for speculation which is also fun.
I find the show to be meh. I’m a long time fan, since 1977. I tend not to be as hypercritical of things a lot of fans hated. I’ve had mixed feelings on this show however. I was so so on it until I heard about the budget and the things I was most excited for was Carrie Anne Moss as a Jedi and a rookie Jedi, they however got killed almost immediately upon appearing. WTAF. That said, I’ll stick it out.
Hi Meg, just an idea, the mask of the Sith does me think of Abeloth, especially the oversized mouth of the mask and then you have a direct link to serie Ashoka. Just a wild idea.
It wasn't just the lack of action, and the constant walking, with more walking, yet more walking. It was how poorly the lines were written and the lack of explanation. Apparently, they want us to figure too much out on our own. I mean, seriously, someone trains to be a dark force user with a history of wanting to kill her sister, and, because she's tired of doing "errands," decides to switch just like that? Then there are the cringe moments, which should be cut out for story or budget (budget... really?). Time to put my money on Netflix.
I'm at 5:53 & i noticed that i haven't heard this much negative talk on this channel in 2x years when actively watched video at evening 🙄 So SWM is jumping to hate bandwagon or just slightly leaning over to that direction. I hope not & yes i agree that First live Act Wookiee Jedi off screen takedown is wrong ✅ Also my thoughts came true as in S01E05 gonna be flashback to Brendok so we see that Possessed Kelnacca vs Jedis encounter & more. Then at S01E06 we'll see that encounter at Forest against the Sith or non Sith Bogey 🤔 I wonder if that Jedi ship stuff shown in trailer happens at S01E06 or S01E07 ^^ No not the one where Osha went down with prison ship. I wish good time to everyone when stream beautiful The Acolyte S01 via D+ & enjoy trip to Galaxy Far, Far Away 🧘♂ I always do it with "65 Led Telly, 5.1 Wireless headphones on a dark room 🙂
I don't think that they understand how to release a series which plays around with POV. I expect this to find great expression in a future streaming model where LOTS of content is released and one can actually toggle POV. There's no way that Disney has the courage to mess around with audiences like this yet but this wouldn't be a hard thing to present in the catalog/interface. This is probably what they should have done - release this great big and wonderful POV idea parallel to itself. That would have solved so many artistic challenges for them. Honestly, they should terminate whoever blocked this because the result of not doing this is an expensive & embarrassing debacle. It makes them look dumber than us and that's not a good place to be. I hope that they don't bury it - I'm willing to wait for a re-release so that the big idea is handled properly.
I learned that lesson back around 2008. Things will be retconned to make them more palpable or the franchise will be rebooted altogether. Either way, Star Wars will go on.
Kind of surprised so many thought this episode an improvement on episode 3. I found it harder to get through, and it was only 28 mins. Yes, there weren't chanting witches, but I found the dialogue and plotting the worst so far. And what is going on with these Jedi? Don't tell the council several Master Jedi were murdered, and more are targeted? Immediately kill a large insect-thing flying towards you...but you're in its environment and just disturbed it. How about trying a force push, or learning if the creature is just trying to warn off invaders, instead of instant death by lightsaber?
How ironic that fans, critics, media commentators, etc. seem to generally prefer to binge all episodes of the Disney streaming Star Wars series, when you consider that George was so influenced by the serialized films from his childhood that ended on cliff-hangers and had these flashy, melodramatic, action-packed titles. It really suggests that overall confidence in the brand is at an all time low, as everybody assumes there will be more than a couple stinker episodes in each new series, and we'll need the strength of the better episodes to balance them out so we don't walk away with a rotten taste in our mouth each week. It's criminal what Disney has done to this IP.
Love the acolyt, shine on it honestly see nothing wrong with im only listening people whine about this or that so it must be doing something wrong, either that or people are moaning for no reason.
It's funny, I agree that episode 3 was mid, but the thing I hear the most complaints about is the thing I actually like, the witch coven and their view of the force.
Episode 4. Absolutely nothing for 27 minutes, then Marry Poppins. The only reason it's better than 3 is because NOTHING happened for 95% of the episode.
Exactly. If the best thing anyone can say is, "Well, it wasn't as bad as E3" which is probably going down in history as the worst Star Wars offering ever, then the bar is really, really low.
I think Mae was being controlled by another darkside person when she was a kid. I think the person in the mask is her Zabrat mother and that also was the person that controlled her to set the fire when she was a kid. Do you remember in the first episode when Oshia was seeing her sister and her eyes turned black and she said " I will kill them All". That was not young may talking.
Episode 4 was just as ass Meg. There wasn't an improvement. An episode about nothing... Evil twin thinks she can just kill 2 Jedi and then turn her self in and become immune to consequences... Then Mae saying stuff like Osha is alive this changes everything after the last episode where she locked her up and wanted to kill her when she was a child. Story and writing is awful... this is before the Ki-Adi Mundi lore breaking... Before the pronoun gopher controversy...
I will be glad when this series is over no matter how good or how bad it ends up being because I am sick and tired of these ridiculous Star Wars fans, and their negative comments
People also need to remember all the strikes that happened last year...that drove up the production costs. That can't be helped. It also means that future productions will cost more, too.. so get used to higher costs to make TV and movies and lower quality overall because studios still seek to make money, so they'll make cuts
This is just Secret Invasion 2.0 They money laundered by over paying their buddies. That's why the quality is so bad too, no one they hired to make this show was qualified for their jobs.
Once I finish Andor I'll check Acolyte out. It isn't a story that interested me to pick up in book form, so we will see in few months after I get to this one.
The problem with Disney is they don't have the depth of shows that Netflix does , if they dropped it in all one hit, people would cancel their subscription after watching it, Netflix you have plenty of new shows to continue watching. yes I didn't appreciate the chanting bit in episode 3 , but I am enjoying the show so far, a really good guess who and I feel we haven't seen the true villain yet.....
I was pissed that kelnacca just "died" without showing any fighting w Darth zipperface. how is it that only sol and Mae felt the presence of zipperface and the other jedi did not?! they act like padawans instead of full jedi. why take on a critical mission w such inexperienced jedi? puh

As a persons who chants in Chinese, Japanese and Tibetan, they probably should have chanted in an alien language and then a translated caption.
The Disney shareholders pockets?
I’ve no doubt they sent that poor writer to take one for the team. They need to preserve the pristine positive reputation of their producers.
That was an insult to some fan made fare!

I’m loving the acolytes. I love a good mystery. I’ve watched each episode multiple times trying to look for different clues. The people hating are always going to hate. That is their new job.
But it's not really a mystery, we already know that Disney murdered Star Wars. Sorry to spoil the ending.
How can you like this if you are a star wars fan, it is something else and it is trying to re write how star wars works.
careful, you're expressing your opinion around the terminally online section of star wars fans. they don't like that.

Love this Meg! You keep it real. You really wanted this show to work, but didn't shill like it was an amazing peice of work. So much respect for this channel!~
I thought that Koril was the Sith until I saw episode 4. Now I am sure that it's Qimir.
For sure Qimir!
It makes sense that it's Qimir IMO. I kept asking myself, "what is the importance of this dude in this story? Why does Mae trust him and turn to him?" Manny Jacinto did say he had to train and get in shape for this role....so to me that means he's involved in action sequences....hmmmmnnn...can't wait to see what happens with him
Qimir might be a sex change of Koral at this rate.
The way it looked at Osha makes me suspect her mum.
Who cares its trash…..
FINALLY a channel that actually acknowledges DAVID HAREWOOD. I’ve been saying his name for weeks
Whether shitting on the lore of previous writers or shitting on their own, one thing remains consistent.
There are rumours the whole show was reshot 😂😂

I'd be interested to know contract costs for actors and production staff and whether they fall within normal expectations.
Andor is the best live action star wars show BY FAR
I'll say this. It is incredibly difficult to take serious a show that doesn't take basic "lore" serious.
It's like Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter.
Quality writing and visuals go a long way in bringing in viewers and the Acolyte has neither
Try as I might, I cannot disagree.
2:33 "We're about to get more flashbacks next episode" Well that's going to get kill the momentum they just built up in a mid-to-very subpar episode.
More like $5K by the looks of it
I sold my Disney stock after this because they are wasting money and that likely will not look good for the bottom line. This is where running garbage like this out is really going to hurt disney.

the minutes watched are huge milestones for Disney due to the episodes being around 30-40 minutes in length, which is lower then most Netflix episodes, and the fact that these episodes only drop weekly, meaning that people who are watching are actually watching the entire episode, unlike with Netflix where they still see huge churn with almost all of their shows, this proves that franchises and IP's still matter today, Netflix simply cannot and will not ever compete with Disney in terms of franchises, IP, etc, especially since Disney also now owns 20th Century Fox aswell, Netflix has an issue in regards to nostalgia, IP, franchises, etc, and i do understand that they have tried to make some in-roads in terms of trying to build new franchises like with Bird Box, Black Mirror, etc, however i wouldn't say that there is really this built up nostalgia bias with those IP's due to those IP's only existing in some cases for less then even a decade, whereas with Disney u have franchises which actually do have considerable runway like Star Wars, like TRON, and like i said with newly acquired assets under 20th Century Fox aswell, and the fact that they even own newer IP's and franchises like Frozen, which are massively popular with kids today aswell, so there is already this built in nostalgia bias even for kids right now, not to mention kids from decades ago who grew up on other Disney and Non Disney classics aswell, which Disney now owns, Netflix has really not done a good job when it comes to IP acquisitions, studio acquistions, etc

David Harewood is the sith in episode 4, not to sound like I’m isolating skin tone but if you look at the scene where he pushes osha out of the way he has darker hands, and they look a lot like his hands if you look him up on google, he’s also lean enough to be the character

(no ILM!).
If there's a Star Wars show that's not great, the world will still turn; the universe will not end.
Just waiting for the Meg/Melvin duo.. Coming Soon!
Well like others have said the productions are more expensive to produce due to the strikes
Thanks Meg! 🙏
Not making any judgment call until the end of the season. So far I am enjoying the journey.
I thought I would see a lot factors per the budget. As I understand the rewrites and reshoots means there was a lot of material down but not shown
115 mil in 2005 would be 197,164,940.86 today just based on inflation.
I wish somebody would do a deep dive to see where the money really went because it looks a lot like money laundering

If anything, this show has taught me that NOTHING will kill Star Wars.
I learned that lesson back around 2008. Things will be retconned to make them more palpable or the franchise will be rebooted altogether. Either way, Star Wars will go on.
Do you know why D+ end credits are 6 mins long?
For the minute count. It counts towards minutes watched. I'm surprised they aren't 10 mins long.
Disney has made Star Wars multi-galactic inclusive. I love it. But i can see other fans not liking it.
It's as if they are more concerned with the mystery and pacing of the show than giving us a story.
Speaking of which, the Mandalorian had John Favero and his visual pop to help it along.
In my honest opinion, the Mandalorian was not that good of a show.. Also Revenge of the Sith was better than the three original Star Wars movies.
Thank God that isn't Plo, lol. That Kel Dor literally sees and fights the Sith, if it was Plo even more lore would be ravaged

I don't think Mae has changed sides

People also need to remember all the strikes that happened last year...that drove up the production costs. That can't be helped. It also means that future productions will cost more, too.. so get used to higher costs to make TV and movies and lower quality overall because studios still seek to make money, so they'll make cuts
