Re Ki Adi Mundi? Totally agree. He's my least favourite Jedi (the way he treated the clones and didn't even seem to grieve when his whole family were killed). But regarding this "whole attachment = romantic feelings" or having any kind of feelings? No. A problem with the Star Wars fandom is that a lot of us view "attachment" from a western POV (i.e. forbidden love) rather than the eastern philosophies and religions George Lucas used as inspiration for the Jedi. GL has stated previously that the Jedi code doesn't require Jedi to be celibate, and there are examples of Jedi who have been in healthy romantic relationships (most obvious canon example is Kanan Jarrus). Attachment is an unhealthy relationship where one person is so scared of losing their partner that they try controlling them whether it be trying to dictate where they go, who they speak to or what they wear, where a parent is so scared they'll lose their child that they shelter and smother the child, whether that be by stopping them playing with kids their own age, or stopping an 18y/o going to a university in a different city. When you love someone you let them go, you don't seek to keep them with you at their detriment. Simply put, attachment means toxic and unhealthy relationships, whether those relationships be romantic, platonic or familial.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" Isaiah 5:20
Oh yes, let's ignore everything George Lucas already did to Sith and Jedi, how both are evil, the opposite sides of the same coin, both radicals sects that became a thing from what once was the balanced way of life. Being too selfless is as evil as being too selfish, it's Yin-Yang. Ignorance is the opposite of love, not hate. To hate you have to love first.
regards to the Sith Lord, overtly operating under the very eyes of the Jedi,in the same way as the Floor Sweeping Monk, who was the Kungfu Master hiding in plainclothes in Shaolin in a literary classic from HongKong,Of Warriors and Demigods, the similarities are striking only one serves the shadow and the other the path to enlightenment
Anyone ever got along swimmingly with someone new and became really good fast friends? Disney makes two people with chemistry, love interests, as long as they are same sex, but make them suuuuper obviously platonic if they are opposite sex. That's frustrating to say the least.
Jedi? Cover something up? I think there's a much deeper meaning to Yoda's "Failed, I have". It's almost as if Yoda ALLOWED all this to happen because of all the false "chosen one" claims in the past. He trusted Qui-Gon's instincts, all while keeping everything to himself. Plausible theory.
When people get upset about retconing it shows their age. Original episode fans know this is a part of Star Wars 😅 and frankly this one could be very interesting

Can someone explain why the twins don't look like the Zabrak mother who carried them? It was her egg and genes that the twins came from right? Why look like mother who made them from the "thread"?
At a guess Black womens egg, Zabrak womens womb whatever process they did to replace the male part of reproduction perhaps needed a more durable body so they used the zabrak women as there species' is naturally tougher
It was not explained yet, I'm betting it will be in episode 7, but I think Mother Koril is just the surrogate mother, Mother Aniseya is the one who created them
I don't think they will ever say it is the Sith. They will assume it was just dark side users and not Sith. He may have been a survivor of the witch cult from where they ran from. They may have once been like the Dathomir witches and had a seperate male half of the cult.
The movies and tv shows are the real story. Everything else is entertainment. In other words not canon. George Lucas always said this or something similar
All of the Lucas authorized entertainment products are Canon including the expanded universe but George said once something is in a SW movie or authorized tv show, it supersedes everything else. The Acolyte overwrote existing canon and is now official canon.
I think you are misusing the title Acolyte. (My op8nion follows) the Sith follow the rule of 2, Master and Apprentis. This is to keep their numbers small to avoid detection. I think Acolyte is used like Inquisitor is to Palpatine and Vader. It's a tool. Not one shown all the tricks of the trade. Outside of the Masked Sith appearing, using Mae as an Acolyte keeps the secret of the Sith. I think we are about to see A LOT of those jefi and Padawans get killed. And if Madk I'd nit the Master, he is running things for the (for this season I believe) unseen Master. I see it as compartimentization. You only know one level up in case you are taken alive. That's how I see it.
Just going to say this and I know what been said that he is the same person and a source site had to change his birth year. Could Ki-Adi Mundi in ROTS be the son of Ki-Adi Mundi in The Acolyte? After all how many people are named after their fathers. Did any of the complainers think of that when they should have known that his kind were allowed to have children.
Maybe they’re about to throw Ki-Adi-Munda under the bus in this show. It would probably make them absolute legends, because I struggle to meet anyone who liked him. He was the Jedi we all love to hate. And yes, he was a prick. Wouldn’t surprise me if we see a same sex romance in this. They’ve been saying some ridiculous things throughout the junkets for this show about Star Wars fans, who coincidentally, couldn’t give a shit who they’re banning in their condo’s in Beverly Hills.
I have not seen this episode, or watched this video. I clicked here to read the rest of the video title. There'd better be a really good reason Coati Mundi is back. Just calling attention to that name once was bad enough.
Since when did people ask for cameos to be justified? In other series people complained if there weren't enough. And the Acolyte does not retcon Ki Adi Mundi's line about the Sith. All they discussed is another force group, a possible rogue Jedi. If Ki Adi Mundi is about this, as he was about Sideous, he will refuse to believe it, even if it were staring into his face. So maybe some people might hold their horses before howling "retcon" all the time. Regarding Jecki - she goes through a normal psychological phase, having a crush. It will fade in time, and we see that Jedi Padawns had these feelings but, most of them overcame and outgrew them. I have the feeling you want to find hairs in the soup, Meg, which is sad. I am also surprised that you did not mention the Wookiepedia situation and the death threats they received after they added Ki Adi Mundi's confirmed canon age to the page.

Given the people who are running this show almost blew their entire budget in pre-production it makes sense they couldn't be bothered to do any research when it comes to the characters they wanted to use for the show, the real reason for Ki-Adi Mundi making a cameo in The Acolyte is due incompetency and laziness it's just that simple
Laziness? His presence means they will focus on why he said wjst he says a 100 years later. Hemay be part of a Jedi splinter group. Not sure he was ever a popular character. Pretty sure they were hated. Your anger seems manufacturered.

How can a Jedi do good for others without having any feelings towards them? Caring for other's well being IS A FEELING! Not having any feelings is when you do things that hurt others. It's all about having feelings, but learning to control irrational hormonal influence of uncontrolled emotion!
@@josiatokirina1788 That is what the Jedi are based on. If you want to understand the Lucas vision of Star Wars.... read some of what inspired him. For example Do you think God loves everybody? Then why does God watch as the people they love suffer and die? Because there is no attachment to physical world. It is deeper than that. The celestial realm is what a Jedi pull their ability with the Force. We might suffer in the world... but there is a realm bigger than here that matters more. Attachment does lead to jealousy, anger, and all kinds of things. When you take an oath to a group of spiritual warriors, you forgo some things in life, (love, sex, wealth, anger, envy, thirst for power), to reach enlightenment. This is where Disney gets things wrong with what the Jedi are. Of course Disney makes everything about witchcraft. They have always made stories based on pagan rituals. It is a shame they are destroying the Jedi concept for neutrality.
I bet that the answer is "NO", this is wishful thinking. When one of the writers wrote that they tried to use Joda for that scene but he wasn't "technically available" ... clearly shows that they just wanted to put nostalgia bait and it didn't matter who, Is there anyone who wants to take my bet ... ?

You’re just making things up that aren’t happening. Plagueis is canonically a Muun and Tenebrous is a male Bith. Changing someone’s age that was only mentioned once in Legends isn’t the same as completely changing two important characters. They aren’t going to change that.

The real reason is to drive people crazy 🤣
No
Actually, The Flatulite is literally the best Disney War Stars since the last Disney Stair Wares.
Wow you've got an amazing Kiwi accent Meg 🤯
Idk why people hate i think of it as another way of not liking Mundi for a reason
When people get upset about retconing it shows their age. Original episode fans know this is a part of Star Wars 😅 and frankly this one could be very interesting
Ki Adì could have been wrong about the Sith in the prequels but what the hack?! Was it so hard to write and construct a coherent story by the acolyte writers?
Love your posts, Meg. Bur a lot of these opinions about Acolyte don't seem like you. They seem counterintuitive to the optimism and appreciation you usually show. I hope you enjoy the show at some point. xo
How does a Wookie with the FORCE die? Who is this Sith? When order 66 happened Yoda felt every DEATH. There was a DISTURBANCE in the FORCE.
Also, who would have the means, motive, and opportunity to do it?
Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!
I mean because 1 jedi dying doesnt correlate to 10000 jedi dying
How did he die? A lightsaber to the chest.
@Lilac-and-Gooseberries Jedi during this period were more powerful in the force. Wookies are pure strength. Wookies are in tune with nature. Add lightsaber. And he's also a MASTER JEDI. HOW?
Can someone explain why the twins don't look like the Zabrak mother who carried them? It was her egg and genes that the twins came from right? Why look like mother who made them from the "thread"?
This is validd af. Where the horns at???????
Im a big defender of episode 3 but yeah wtf why arent they zabrak?
At a guess Black womens egg, Zabrak womens womb whatever process they did to replace the male part of reproduction perhaps needed a more durable body so they used the zabrak women as there species' is naturally tougher
It was not explained yet, I'm betting it will be in episode 7, but I think Mother Koril is just the surrogate mother, Mother Aniseya is the one who created them
Surrogacy. The Zabrak woman said she carried them.
Wow knows? Sorry for sounding a little bit cynical. I will keep watching. Thanks Meg
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🌹
Is Mundi on the council yet. If they stay agreed not to tell anyone in eps 4 then he had to lie during the clone wars.
He is not.
No one can be as wrong as Ki.
Or they're literally telling us that these are not Sith. I think it's Koril seeking revenge for the destruction of the coven.
Oh no. A romance, in Star Wars no less. What a tragedy! How will this franchise survive a romance!!!!!
People to busy hating on every project to pay attention! But keep doing your thing ma!
I have not seen this episode, or watched this video. I clicked here to read the rest of the video title. There'd better be a really good reason Coati Mundi is back. Just calling attention to that name once was bad enough.
What about the sith attack on the wookie
Woop yeaaa 🙂 Soon i'll restream S01E04 soon in dark room as always when streaming content via any platform 🙂 "65 Led Telly & 5.1 wireless headphones in use. Good new week & nice adventure to Galaxy Far, Far away to everyone & enjoy streaming S01 via D+ 👍
Ki-Adi Mundi did nothing wrong. He was a patsy.
He def didnt deserve to die for being a ignorant for sure .
@@GazingTrandoshan Ignorance is the opposite of love, not hate. To hate you have to love first. He very much deserved.
What is that "woo tee tee" sound that is in the very beginning of every one of these videos?????
It's a jawa speaking
Has anyone mentioned the word "sith" in the Acolyte so far?
If they needed to put in a Jedi that is alive during the clone wars, I wonder if there is one or two already alive in both time periods without the need for a retcon 🤔
The age was never canon.
Sources.:
25 year old CD-ROM
11 year old trading card.
@@TheEbonyEngineer Both had wrong canon for legends too ironically . They wont bring that up cause it breaks the narrative of course cause THEY NEED something to talk about
You watch; Yoda will appear in the last episode and wipe his mind.
If she's so by the book why is she always downtalking and shitting all over her master?
She never does that to Sol but she does do that to Yord. Should be more respectful because he’s higher rank.
I can't believe people are so concerned about a jedi that helped Palpatine destroy the jedi , lucas really dropped the ball with the prequels
At this point I’m watching Acolyte for entertainment purposes only, and it’s hard to watch let me tell you.
Because like said by the show writer, Yoda wasn't tech available.
Wow. More twists than a pretzel. Sad.
Being on the Press list isnt worth this.
Not really. But ok.
Everybody needs to watch it again! And pay attention from the beginning I’m not going to give you the answer!
Hi Meg, awesome news update, I did not like Mundi all through the movies and clone wars he is arrogant and could be a spy and I was actually glad when he died out of all the jedi but I was sad when the rest died the way they did, thank you SWM
maybe he is the Sith infiltrator
So, when he dies in order 66, that's just Palpatine killing a rival?
@@Vampirelor Another lowly dark side user.
That is just not true at all. He was specifically chosen because of what he says in the movies and the Clone Wars.
At the end of the day, he should have never been put in this show. The writers/show runners messed up.
Mundis a Sith!
canon was broken she did not even know the star wars story and I ain't buying this, unless he was a sith himself and covering it up. but then they editted his date of birth and all, its a hot dumpster fire.
meg do you honestly think the show is good? its got many loopholes
How can a Jedi do good for others without having any feelings towards them? Caring for other's well being IS A FEELING! Not having any feelings is when you do things that hurt others.
It's all about having feelings, but learning to control irrational hormonal influence of uncontrolled emotion!
Read about Siddhartha. The you will understand.
@@MichaelJMayoskyStudios I'm talking George Lucas Jedi. Not budda stuff.
Two birthdays...This makes sense in the Acolyte universe.
Huh?
@@TheEbonyEngineer Help me out....that is not a complete sentence.
Ki-Adi was an adult 30 years before he was even born
"Nobody is Talking About the REAL Reason Ki-Adi Mundi is in The Acolyte!"
...Maybe because nobody wants to see Ki-Adi Mundi ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is true 100%. One of the writers for the acolyte went on I believe it was Twitter and said that they used Mundi because Yoda was not available.
Ki told the clone troopers to use flamethrowers!!! (In the animated series) Not a real Jedi suggestion if you ask me. What a jerk 😂
Maybe Mundi is a Sith affiliated secretly?
I bet that the answer is "NO", this is wishful thinking. When one of the writers wrote that they tried to use Joda for that scene but he wasn't "technically available" ... clearly shows that they just wanted to put nostalgia bait and it didn't matter who,
Is there anyone who wants to take my bet ... ?
I see enough major problems with this show that Ki Adi Mundi is at the very bottom of a very long list. To think if he was the only problem in an otherwise wonderfully executed series... if only...
My 23rd birthday is today/June 23rd!
I am currently in Anaheim, California heading to Disneyland this morning! On a side note regarding The Acolyte. I am hoping they deliver a good episode/chapter this Tuesday, June 25th: my birthday weekend!
Happy Birthday Christian, and May the Force Be with You Always
Happy Birthday! May the force be with you!
The writer put him in the Acolyte to undermine Star Wars Canon.
If they made Mundi decades older than he really is, they'll have no problem making Plagueis (Qimir) a human and Tenebrous (Koril) a Zabrak.
What does an unestablished age mean they would change the species of a character? Help me understand your thinking.
Now you’re just making up stuff in your head and getting angry about it
@@TheEbonyEngineerthey’re willing to change things from the eu
You’re just making things up that aren’t happening. Plagueis is canonically a Muun and Tenebrous is a male Bith. Changing someone’s age that was only mentioned once in Legends isn’t the same as completely changing two important characters. They aren’t going to change that.
@@cael4065They’re willing to change small details that only appeared in a Legends guide and a Topps card, not completely change two characters who are canon. Remember that Leslye Headland is a big fan of the EU and this show is already filled with EU references.
In Legends, Qui-Gon's apprentice, Xanatos, prior to taking on Obi-Wan as an apprentice, fell to the dark side and carried a red lightsaber as well. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan ended up facing off against him as well but they didn't report back saying "we found a Sith." Its so funny people bring up legends lore for a topps card and cd nobody watched and ignore that book in the same continuity they reference
Tired of useless drama ruining any sort of constructive criticism given to lucasfilms, literally how are they suppose to see anything under the videos spamming about canon break/hyperbole or the usual racist/bigot shit channels like RJ Kinnel push and so many others , good criticism and nuanced is fucking dead , cinema sins truly ruined the nerd discussion
The shilling is strong with this channel and in these comments. Is it worth being invited to Disney events to keep shilling for them? Especially with Harvey Weinsteins assistant who knew everything?
I like how you keep saying this like you know better than all the court cases / victims during the biggest scandal in hollywoods century of existing and somehow she was complicit ?? Lmao bro everyone in hollywood including people you idolize knew , women couldnt do anything and you think some women who had a gig MANY women had come and gone from was Maxwell ??? Bro again not a single PERSON IN 7 YEARS has accused her of a single thing but NOW you think you know more? Disrespectful piece of shit using Harvey as ammo for a culture war .
Pretty sure he was added to attack the fan base and take a notch off ov the lore.
That Padawan was a better than literally all the Jedi shown up until episode 5, that includes Masters, well, other than Sol but what is this writing? Fire, bugs and continuity are all off thanks to those who work with the IP but, dont actually love the franchise or its story, nor do they understand its . . . Mysticism for lack ov better words
Yeah g'day,
IMO Ki Adi was really pretty much Mice Window, only for himself and screw everyone else. Both had no respect or care for clones or anybody outside their influence.
My idea of the last conversation between Grandpappy Palps and Mice Window.
GPP; ' Pick a window you're leaving. '
MW; screams as he is used to open the window.
It's a goodnight from you and it's a goodnight from the broken, cantankerous, belligerent, obnoxious, obstinate, obstreperous, cynical Old Fart
Mice Window I love it haha
I never got the feeling watching The show that there was romantic interest there
Nobody is talking because many people don’t care about this show. lol
I think he to predictable to have home be smiley lol it has to be someone else
The Sith is green woman
Nah
The Originals were awesome because it was fun story telling and never had to worry about the 7% minority under the DEI stuff. This is at heart why fans are mad at Disney. Just tell the story like the originals and enough of the woke crap.
You don't remember the prequels cause you're not a real fan. If the prequels came out today you would scream DEI as most of the Jedi cast/council were people of color.
Just sit your bigot self down.
Mundi is a terrible character,it’s funny seeing so many people b**** and moan about him.
