This often leads to some people jumping to conclusions that can not be supported by either lore or rational deduction.
Very true this is why I've also always hated the idea that only the Bane line survived. I've always believed that there could be another group of Sith lords out there. We don't know this padawaans full story. She could have been picked up far away from the Zygarian homeworld! If she lives independently on a swamp planet she may not be loyal to the Zygarian homeworld. Just because we see species in the Jedi order doesn't automatically mean they came from they original species homeworld. Look at the different people on different worlds throughtout the galaxy.

I'm liking the alien designs in this series and I havnt even watched the Acolyte yet, I'm just going on the clips and images i've saw. Most fans go on about *Andor* and praise that so much but never mention the fact that show was heavily lacking in Alien races. As for the viewing figures, I reckon they will pick up as the next episodes come round. Personally I don't feel Leslie Headland should make a KOTOR series purely because I reckon she works better doing things that are entirely ORIGINAL like this. There are simply a ton of Starwars fans out there that love KOTOR, and tbh Kennedy has said in the past that she doesn't consider there to be any "Books/comics, video-games" etc; so I will find it to be very hypocritical that Kennedy could go from saying that, to suddenly finding out about KOTOR and allowing her "Acolyte" Leslie Headland to do her own adaptation of such a beloved video-game series (especially Sith lords with Kreia). It would just feel as though Kennedy only cares to get a Kotor series made just to specifically SUBVERT it, and we as fans don't want them to do this. If they didn't have any interest in Adapting the Thrawn classic books, or Filoni himself not even caring to bring "Mara Jade" into Canon, but they can suddenly show interest in doing KOTOR adaptations; erm yeah I don't trust that.

I'm keen to see an old republic show, especially if they touch on the bigger events but without actually following the stories of Revan, Malgus etc. I'd rather see a new story from a new perspective set in a time at where the galaxy was at war on a scale that makes the empire vs the rebels look small. I want to see a ship full of sith land on a planet etc. it would be amazing, maybe catching a glimse of malgus taking out multiple jedi or Satele Shan backflipping over a sithlord and slicing him in two, but not actually following those characters, that way we get to canonise some of the best legends characters without changing their stories. Make them relevant but distant. That's just my take anyway.
I really liked the acolyte. It felt like Star Wars to me. More like the first 3episodes than New Hope. I want it to be great like Andor which was chilling and fascinating…good writing!

Based off of what I've seen so far, I don't think I'd have a problem with a Kreia series/movie done by Leslie. As long as Dave works with her on getting it right. The character is fascinating, and if it takes the "Force is Female" department of Lucas film to get it made then I say go for it. We can always bitch about it later if it sucks. 🤷♂

I don't want anything set in the Old Republic. I always struggled to suspend my disbelief with Old Republic material that was supposed to be thousands of years in the past yet just as technologically advanced as the High Republic/New Republic. If they make anything set in the Old Republic I really hope that stylistically it feels "OLD" enough that I can find it believable. Perhaps Lightsabers would be powered with battery packs, FTL travel would be slow compared to later improvements and maybe characters could dress how we imagine people in Ancient times would. Kreia is my favorite Star Wars villain, there would be so much to get into with her. Meetra is also a favorite Jedi of mine given how she goes through, actually forgetting the force, and then instead of playing into Darth Traya's hands and destroying the force with their connection, she trains the next Jedi Council and does a lot of good. It's a beautiful story that should've been made a show already, but you can't treat it with kid gloves. It would be a pretty dark show and mature past Andor. So. I see exactly the same that Sol's actor said. Nod to other movies. You know,i never notice that unless you guys tell me. That makes it way more cooler. Like i always fascinated by show itself. The fact i don't noticed, maybe thats why im happy with everything. Like im just watching and having fun . About old Republic. Sure thing. I see shes great director,so far i like Acolyte.
I alway's wanted a old republic series, live or clone war like animated but i am not so sure that Lesley Headland should do it.Lets wait and see first how the Acolyte turns out at the end of the series cause it did not started wel for many fans.
Yup some thing from the old Republic could be done but not by headland and her cronies, I think Jon favreau would be the best to make an Old Republic show , or just leave it alone call Shirley they will mess it up! Anyways just my thoughts,
Leslye has done a great job bringing this era of SW to life, as well the beings who inhabit it. I'm really excited to watch the remaining eps, and to get to the bottom of this mystery.
@@Tophergr8 none of those are what is happening w this show. just because someone disagrees w your take on a show doesnt mean they are fascists….false equivalence. i don’t like the show because of the writing, delivery, set design etc. Am i a fascist ? no.
@@jcraftgaming76 "just because someone disagrees with your take on the show doesn't mean they are fascists" yet I find the backlash to it silly and fascistic. Does this mean that I find your specific criticism of the show fascistic? How could I without you specifying it. But I did find the backlash I read about it silly and fascistic--specifically the getting butthurt because a matriarchal society defines the force differently--this dovetails quite well with the fascist preoccupation with machismo and rigidly defined gender roles. The objection that the force is being defined differently than these butthurt fanboys with small penises have seen it defined is another fascistic trope--the preoccupation with a traditional history and any deviation from that is intolerable. These may or may not be the reasons you don't like the show, but they are the reasons I came across and I find them fascistic af. And I am educated enough to know multiple ways in which fascism is defined. But here you go getting all triggered. You say you aren't a fascist, so was I talking to you then? Why so defensive?
@@jcraftgaming76 False equivalence? You don't even know what backlash I'm talking about. You could ask, but you assume the "critique" I have heard is the "critique" you have and that I have read your mind and know your critique (which surely isn't fascistic at all?!?). You could have asked--why do you say fascistic?--and then I would tell you that the backlash (not criticism! Backlash!) has been about too many women involved in the project. Too much gyno-centricism--and, at least in the case of Eco's definition of fascism, though I'd argue it's implied in Wilhelm Reich's as well, a key feature of fascism is hyper machismo--and when somebody makes a 2 hour video (that RUclips's questionable algorithm hurls at me) about how the witch coven that raised the twins is un-Star Wars (hello, the witches of Dathomir would like to have a word) and how Disney is wrecking the franchise by trying to indoctrinate us all into being "soy boys"--yes, that is a fascistic backlash.
Well I loved it so far. And I was not expecting to - I am a fan that couldn't watch Andor, it bored me and I felt nothing for the characters. This show, I instantly got drawn into Sol and Osha and Sol's padawan. I even like the ripped "come at me bro" young Jedi, yeah he has a lightsaber practice staff up his backside, but deep down he means well. So I am looking forward to the 3rd episode and I am staying away from internet reviews, because there seems to be some harsh opinions out there, particularly on the clock app.
Meg, you are always the first video on my feed when I wake up. I watch a lot of Star Wars reaction/breakdown videos. Yours is my favorite because almost always news updates involved. Anyway, I LOVE the fact that several of the channels have enjoyed the show, so far. But quite a few haven't really liked it, with a couple almost trashing it. It really pains me when they heap on the negativity, almost looking forward to it failing simply because of its Disney or Laslye Headland connection. Those are not true fans. I look forward to good, fun, and surprising things from The Acolyte, and thank you for always keeping it real.
Well said. Some of the comments, even on this video, are just so bizarre. I mean, if you have that much hate for something/someone why are here watching? Just to spread that negativity? I don't understand it.
@commandercjw Because she's a fake fan who legit knows nothing about the Force, what the EU provides, and she doesn't even have a favorite movie to note and fails to mention about the very icon of what makes Star Wars, Star Wars. Instead, she pillaged what came before as damage control. Not to mention, she is associated with an abuser of Follyhood, Harvey Weinstein.
I liked the theory you brought up the other day. That Mae is dead and Osha does have psychotic state where she change between them without knowing. I did have the same thought up until osha was with Sol when Mae first broke in to Tobin, only cause osha was with Sol. But maybe Leslie think that flying through hyperspace is the same as teleportation, as we has in the sequels. She also is a fan of Rian and maybe this is a mystery twist as in his Netflix movies To wrap up I believe Leslye is up for anything, even if it makes no sense. She should no go for the EU storries
This is a triad story and dont forget the bendo, so you want to see the same shit over a over! The jedi are evil, what was Luke talking about and the lessons of kilo Ren!
Zygerrian? Really? She looks nothing like one... There are two versions of them... the ones from Legends and the ones from Clone Wars... CW they didn't have horns and looked just like a cat... in Legends the horns were smaller on females and closer to the brown line than on the forehead
I am sorry to say that this is just not good story telling thus far. I love Star Wars and I will watch, but I am disappointed. When will Lucas Film and Disney learn, everything Ms. Kennedy touches goes horribly wrong. She needs to be given the pink slip. Dave Filoni should be in charge, period. The person showing the a grasp of the lore and canon should have the job. She has had her opportunity to show that she can do it and has underperformed. This seems to be very evident here in the first two at least. Let’s get back to the excellent story telling as we saw in Clone Wars and Rebels.

I will keep watching it again every episode since I am a Nubie in the Star Wars Universe my son is a great fan of Star Wars he plays on line with his friends so I ask him about it.And so again I say to you May the Force be with you always.👽🖖
2 episodes 4.8 million worldwide. In comparison House of Dragons ep 1 was 10 million in the US alone.
If she does a good job on acolyte I think they should give her kotor
I see it the same as a Klingon joining Starfleet
Hi, love your videos. Btw wanted to ask if there is something wrong with you mic, or is it to close to your mouth? Sometimes I have problems understanding what you're saying.
I didn't feel there was very much fan service so far, i think those you mentioned are a stretch
It will fail further the more we see.
Jedi could have kidnapped her...or maybe she was a lower ranking family so they didn't mind giving her to the Jedi
It sounds like they abandon their children if their force sensitive
I saw Tasi and was like, woah, is that Jenny Nicholson?
Let's see how things are after the final Acolyte episode before we start having any halfway serious debates about whether Ms. Headland could do KOTOR.
I don't think that she looks like a Zygerrian at all. I don't remember them having horns, and they were much more animal like in The Clone Wars
Yup some thing from the old Republic could be done but not by headland and her cronies, I think Jon favreau would be the best to make an Old Republic show , or just leave it alone call Shirley they will mess it up! Anyways just my thoughts,
BY now we have seen the STAR WARS whatever -0 light saber fights ect
Leslye has done a great job bringing this era of SW to life, as well the beings who inhabit it. I'm really excited to watch the remaining eps, and to get to the bottom of this mystery.
They should look more like Bothans than Human
Yeah the mini horns definitely throw her off
I'm enjoying the series so far and find the backlash to it silly and fascistic, tbh.
can’t even define fascism 😂💀
@@jcraftgaming76 depends on which definition you want. Mussolini's or Umberto Eco's? Wilhelm Reich's? Federico Finchelstein's?
This show acolyte has to be the rise of Palpatine 🤔
I can't wait for the next episode.
I actually like this show so far
The only way this makes sense is she was kidnapped as a infant . 🤔
Yeah, did NOT recognize her as Zygerrian either. 🤓😎✌🏼
Utidiiiiiii ❤🎉😂

I hear the next episode is worse than episode 3
Keep up the good work Meg. I’m really enjoying this latest addition to the Star Wars canon.
Is that Sols current padawan we are talking about? Cause she looks quite different with orange patches and pale skin. J.
No she is Yord padawan
No, the Padawan who appears with Yord when he arrests Osha
Jecki is Squid Game's padawan
Well my comment was erased that says all .
Either way I would rather have the zigarian padawan than the one who went to get the twins she was kinda annoying
Really interesting. Maybe she was a rescued baby. I would like to know more
It really makes me wondering on why she wasn’t with her Master when he was chosen as part of Sol’s investigation team?
Me too
"She knows how to write a TV show."
I, and plenty of others, beg to differ.
Ur right. The acolyte shouldn't exist
A Kreia series would be fucking amazing. There must always be a Darth Treya.
"The galaxy needs its betrayers."
Not from Leslie Headland, we don't. Like, you notice the damage control.
@@mazkeraid4039Why not? She understands Star Wars well enough. And come on she’s the only one at Lucasfilm that’s talked about TOR in like a decade😂
She would be so hard to write, whoever takes her on would really have to do their research.
It tracks with the show wanting us to believe Jedi are the bad guys.
How is this series considered canon? Zero desire to watch this one.
She also is a fan of Rian and maybe this is a mystery twist as in his Netflix movies
To wrap up I believe Leslye is up for anything, even if it makes no sense. She should no go for the EU storries
And Sol against who fight
It's because she's a diad. She's both. It's going to make no sense.
Wootittes jawarese
Does she know how to write a show?
This is a triad story and dont forget the bendo, so you want to see the same shit over a over! The jedi are evil, what was Luke talking about and the lessons of kilo Ren!
Zygerrian? Really? She looks nothing like one... There are two versions of them... the ones from Legends and the ones from Clone Wars... CW they didn't have horns and looked just like a cat... in Legends the horns were smaller on females and closer to the brown line than on the forehead
Personally, I'm happy we're getting new content. Only one really let me down and that the Last Jedi
I just saw The Last Jedi last night. I thought it was a masterpiece.
It is
I am sorry to say that this is just not good story telling thus far.
Face it Star Wars manboys….the franchise will continue not caring what you think long after your heart disease related deaths!!!
