Oh dearest Meg ~ All here in our home we feel Master Indara IS the Sith Master. Reach out, trust your feelings...Can not wait for the reveal! Missing the Mandalorian on the TV. Love your videos Meg you are the best!
Thing is, I reckon Starwars Meg is right here. Leslie Headland gave her Wife not one but TWO roles in this series (that's abit of nepotism if you ask me) but could be that the Vernastra actress may actually be playing somekind of "Abeloth" type figure in that Anime mask Sith figure.
My whole family, my friends and coworkers all loved Acolyte. We feel its a breath of fresh air to Star Wars, the Force-Fu as we call it was awesome, it also makes sense as to the saying "Jedi only uses his lightsaber in the most dire of times" I feel the Prequals and all other stories have gotten this wrong. To see hand to hand combat being the priority over lightsaber use is pretty awesome. I gave the first 2 episodes a 8.5/10, only bummer was Indara and the fact I was hoping to get longer episodes.
I honestly can't think of a single thing about this series so far that "makes sense." It's the most illogical story, with massive inexplicable plot holes that I've seen in the SW universe so far. It fees like it was written by, and acted by, a junior high school.
@@bsmithhammeryou are a funny person! I’m sure in your mind you could do so much better…. What I have to say to people like you is don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Just go away.
The Jedi are the good guys no matter how you slice it with a lightsaber. That's because no matter how you present them, they are the only thing standing in the way of eventual Sith or general darksider rulership of the galaxy. The Force exists in that galaxy. So unless there's a way to get rid of all force users and unless the darksiders rule the galaxy in a way different than we saw in Star Wars through Return of the Jedi -- and that would be hard to digest considering everything we know about what makes a darksider a darksider -- the Jedi are the good guys.
I liked it. The first few minutes of dialog were a bit wooden, but after that, it was good. Also, visually stunning. I _do_ want to see where this goes.
I love the way The Acolyte opened - it's just perfect. I am particularly confused by those who complain that we only saw Master Indara for a few minutes, because they have not been hiding the fact that she appears in more episodes. Also, I fully expected the assassin to successfully kill Space Trinity. The trailers said that there was someone killing Jedi. That's the "hook"! If they're going to "hook" us into the show with the promise that some mysterious assassin is killing Jedi, she had better actually kill Jedi! Wouldn't it have been pathetic any other way? What's particularly interesting, to me, is how they subverted our natural expectations. As we expected, Master Indara is extremely skilled in fighting. But we'd naturally expect the mysterious assassin to be even more skilled, in order to be a formidable threat to the Jedi Order. Instead, we see that Indara outclasses the assassin. She doesn't defeat Indara with superlative fighting skill. Instead, she defeats Indara with a dirty trick taking advantage of Indara's compassion. And it's ... look. Indara knew the people of the cantina. She knew the barkeep was a parent of a youngling. So she saved his life ... but also ... ... I feel like Indara wanted to spare Mae from the guilt of killing a parent. She knows the barkeep is a parent, but she also knows Mae couldn't possibly know that. Indara may believe that if Mae knew ... she wouldn't have thrown that knife at him. I'm just saying ... this opening scene was an absolutely delightful spectacle, but it also told us so much story, the significance of which only becomes more and more apparent with what we find out in later scenes. And also, I feel like specifically using Carrie-Anne Moss in this first scene helps tell the story. We have inevitable expectations about what Space Trinity is like ... her sense of morality, her inner strength, her wisdom ... the show creators know what we inevitably expect by default, and they lean into it and take advantage of it. So, we can readily accept Indara's thoughts and motivations without having any introduction to her character beforehand.
Initially I was prepared to reject your theory before hearing the details because it just sounded wild, but your explanation was definitely worth considering after listening. I tend to ignore fan theories because I just want to enjoy the show without expectations. Your theory was very well thought out and now I am hoping you're onto something. We haven't seen anything like that before and it would be a breath of fresh air.
I don’t understand why people are putting this show down. Okay I understand that you don’t like it but why do you have to ruin it for everyone else. It’s just a show you can enjoy it and keep watching it or you can hate it and stop watching it and not hurt anyone that doesn’t agree with you but no they won’t stop until they get it cancelled one less show to enjoy. Sorry but I don’t think that way I had to go with no shows from the prequels to clone wars after going that long with nothing I am happy to watch what I can
The point, I feel, is that, if they just hired actually good writers and made a show that both you and me could enjoy, wouldn't that be much better than purposefully doubling down on low quality?
I'm one of the few fans out there that's looking at both sides of the fandom and weighing up what i think. I've been over to fans like Critical Drinker, EBN, SWT, Eckhart's Ladder and Thor Skywalker. One big thing I noticed was those fans were pointing out the whole depiction of "The Jedi" in this show, and that "the Villains" seem to be sympathised. They were talking about that one Jedi who committed suicide, and questioning if *Star Wars* is meant to be for "kids" why depict a Jedi to kill themselves; and is that anykind of *Positive* "Message" to show kids? When I look at George Lucas and his Films, he was very much trying to instil a sense of SPIRITUALITY to children, and he always maintained that *Star Wars* is about "Good vs Evil" and *Good* defeating Evil. What these Fans all have in common regarding their issues with Leslie Headland's "The Acolyte" is it very much seems that she is deliberately twisting everything that George Lucas established. She seems very much focused on trying to "subvert" things, Headland has talked about how she very much admired what Rian Johnson tried to do in his TLJ. But when we look at the lore and the movies themselves the Jedi are NOT BAD! They're just "Flawed" and there's a difference there. But what Leslie Headland seems to be doing is twisting this to making the Jedi in her series "the Villains" and the actual VILLAINS in the show, she's making them out to be the "Heroes". Just look at the Witch Coven. This is how Leslie Headland herself see things, remember what Jodie-Turner's witch leader says to Mae - "This is about power and who gets to use it". Now i'll just shared something Leslie headland said a while back, because I think this really gives us alot of insight into Leslie Headland herself - "When i was younger I was hanging out with Ursula the witch from the Little Mermaid. As a queer girl growing up, if you don't identify with the heroes, and the villains show up and they're all queer-coded, you're like - yes, that's me!" Now I think this right here shows where our two sides of this fandom are at. There are those of us that grew up with the "Heroes" Luke, Leia etc. And there are those of you on the other side of this fence, that are on the side of Leslie Headland, where you "Identify" with the *Villains*. I'm not saying it's not okay to like villains such as "Darth Vader", but remember what he said to Obi-Wan in ep3 - "FROM MY POV, THE JEDI ARE EVIL!!" And then what does Obi-Wan tell him? "Well then you are lost!" It just feels like modern society today is really messed up especially in Hollywood, it's like *Good* is BAD and "Bad" is now GOOD.
@@christianwassenius3201 So what constitutes a good writer to someone like you? I am going to go out on a limb and say that you are not doubt a hater of the ST too? Be honest.
@@RaikenXion I think that most of what you said is disingenuous. You’re talking about a guilt ridden Jedi deleting himself as the worst thing to happen in Star Wars history. Let’s forget how Tarkin destroyed an entire planet, and how Anikan Skywalker cut down younglings…But okay. 🙄 As for the Jedi Order, you do know that they fell right? It didn’t just happen because the Jedi got lazy and were tricked by Darth Sidious, end of story. They got there gradually, it was a slow burn. Bad things had to happen to get the Jedi to where they became complacent to the point that their arrogance ended them. This story and the High Republic stories tell us how the fall eventually came to be. Your suggestion that the show-runner hates the ”good guys” and wants to make them mean and make the “bad guys” cool is far from the truth and very small minded. The Jedi lost their way. That means that they may have done some questionable things, even if they thought what they were doing was right. That sort of thing happens all the time in real life. People with your argument want Star Wars to be one way ONLY and that’s not how things work in real life. I know we’re talking about sci-fi here. But the best stories have a tinge of reality in them. That’s what makes those stories relatable. As a black man, I have loved Star Wars since my dad introduced it to us back in the 80s. I didn’t pass on it because it didn’t have any black people in it, besides Lando. I can remember for the longest time, most fans likened Lando to a Han knock-off and a background character. He is just now getting his flowers because of the Sequel Trilogy! The Sequels were meant to be a passing of the torch movies. And they didn’t really break the mold of what had already been done before, with the exception of one thing: inclusion. So I’m not interested in any straw-man argument about poor storytelling, bad actors, no attention to lore, identity politics, hidden🌈agendas, etc designed to deflect from the hate campaign. Because no matter how you try to deflect you cannot explain why fans that only want Star Wars to be about Han, Luke and Leia singled out: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran and Moses Ingram. But I’ll let you tell me if you see anything suspicious about that…See if you can be honest about it🤔💭
@@marionhope7506 good question! As a rule I find I value the plot being smart - like no plot holes and characters with deep motivations etc. Game of Thrones is an excellent example of this(at least the first half), though stories do not have to be close to as good as GoT to be very enjoyable, such as the star wars movies. The hero's journey can be fun to watch too, and even though it's "simple", it is fun when the writer can add nuance and character to all characters. You know, people like filmento could explain this waaay better than me. And yes, the ST is a mess on many fronts, but many of those arguments could be used on the PT too, which I do like. Therefore my main gripes with the ST is that it simply rehashes the OT, and that Disney couldn't fathom that it might be smart to have a plan for an overarching story before starting filming. (Little sidenote: for some reason I do like TLJ very much, though I can't really say why).
Revenge of the Sith was not in the ranking? Are they friggin kidding me!? And yet they had the friggin audacity to call themselves a Star Wars fan? Not to mention some "fans" harshly bashing the Acolyte for a stupid reason like "muh Space Trinity got done dirty"? Come on...
I think killing off the highest profile actor is an effective way to say that no one is safe. I also think that people complaining about the twin reveal being early aren't paying close enough attention. It seems clear that "twins" wasn't the twist the show is going for, and I'm looking forward to seeing what it actually is. My prediction: Mae is a misdirect. She won't survive, and Osha is the actual Acolyte.
Killing her off was a cheap ploy and copying bigger, better shows. Her character wasn’t even established yet. No one cared whatsoever about her character so it had zero effect when she was killed. Just a dumb decision and poorly executed by the writers. You have to get people to invest in a character first, then when they are killed off it has an emotional impact. This did nothing but make us realize they used her Matrix popularity to get people to tune in.
I also theorized that OSHA is actually the acolyte I think the Jedi will kill her sister and send her down that path. Also learning whatever master Tobin referred to. And my friend shot it down completely lol
Mae is dead already. Osha is Force Projecting herself when she's asleep with the help of Indarra. Indarra's death was the first misdirect. She's the Apprentice to an ancient Sith-Imbued mask. This is how the Sith returned, so in essence, Ki Adi Mundi was correct, from a certain point of view. A Dyad can project to each other in the Force, but Force Projection takes two -- a Master and an Apprentice or an Apprentice and an Acolyte. Osha forgave the Jedi for their cover-up, but part of her wants revenge after she learned about it. Indarra left the Order for a sabbatical but returned after she found the mask to perform a ruse. She's kept her identity very well hidden from Osha and the Jedi. The mask is powerful enough to use for her to connect with Osha in her sleep. When Indarra convinces her how they will get revenge, she's in, but only in her subconscious.
I was checking out one-star and half-star reviews for the Acolyte on RT and of the approx. thirty I looked at al but three only had a review for the Acolyte. More than likely most of them made accounts (multiple?) specifically to review bomb the show. It made me think that RT should not count any user reviews until they have scored at least twenty films/shows. I think that would do a lot to curb people creating accounts just to vote down a particular film/show.
The shows have ranged from amazing (Andor, Mando 1&2) to disappointing AF (Kenobi) and everything in between. I've only seen 2 episodes of the Acolyte so it's a bit premature to say writers made bad choices if we don't know how they'll resolve. I enjoyed what I've seen so far, and I have no issues with the casting or performances.
Can't wait for Andor season 2, hands down the best story and writing we have gotten. I would still want a rated R Saw Gerrera mini series! Episode V will always be my favorite though, saw it in the theater as a kid, I definitely have the nostalgia goggles on with that one, glad I have company!
Here’s my guess. Leslie Headland is a big fan of the Old Republic and Darth Treia. I think that Master Andara is the Sith Lord and is a disciple of Treia. Book it!!
Bro, you’re probably dead on here. Leslie has said this will be the gayest starwars ever😂 I don’t care, I’m here for it! I just want a really good story.
Personally I'm on with how the Acolyte started. This was not the 1st time a character who has some recognition is in a project & killed early. As for the rumors about upcoming episodes I think it has to be reminded that other groups currently connect to the force differently. I'll save judgment until the series is completed.
I'm not frustrated with Carrie Ann Moss's character getting killed. "It is how she was killed". She was supposed to be a Jedi Master, but could not even stop two knives. Not a George Lucas Quality Jedi, who can defend against an onslaught of blaster fire. Two knives is child's play for them!
I don't know, I think we have to remember that Mae used the force when throwing it, hence it flying so far and straight (not how knife throwing really works) I'd imagine catching a small, fast moving object in the opposite direction from your enemy is a suitable challenge. Maybe it could have set it up to be something more taxing, like catching part of a collapsing roof. But fundamentally, I appreciate how similar the strategy was to what HK-47 says in KOTOR 2 about Revan's tactics. Don't attach directly, attack those around a Jedi or put them in danger, and a Jedi will often leave themselves exposed to protect another.
I don't disagree, but doesn't bother me too much. It could have been done better, but I get the premise; the "dark side" character exploited the Jedi's code to kill them. For me, it's fine, just not great.
Really, Stenberg's response should have been "Why are you complaining to me, I didn't write the episode, I just acted in it." I mean, there is cause for backlash, Carrie Ann Moss was in all the commercials and trailers, and she's actually the only reason I gave this show a try. Having her die off in the first scene is a little bit of a bait-and-switch. Still, I'm kind of liking the show so far, so I'm waiting to see what happens next.
It wasn’t the best two episodes of Star Wars television I’ve seen but I’m giving it a chance. It’s a tall order to start in a completely different era with all new characters. I’ll keep watching with some optimism.
Good to hear & share el fine word 🙂 So far 6.5 & 7.5 for first two episodes. I'll rate every episode once S01 has landed & S01 itself on two websites. Also at own blog post. 🙂 Last night i restreamed S01E02 via D+ & i look forward to S01E03 ^^ I hope that Kelnacca survives. Darn Mirialan for not understanding to have that meeting through HoloTech with Sol, Yord & Jecki 😒 It could've been done while trio travels to meet Kelnacca 🙂
As long as the writing is good, and the emphasis is on the story, not the A list personality, I do not care who stars in the show/movie. Once a celebrity becomes the focus, the entire project suffers. I have similar thoughts on the rankings. My list changes from time to time, but regardless of my mood, some of the shows are not in my order of liking them.
I watched The Acolyte with my grandson and my wife all three of us like it and my wife is not a Star Wars fan by any stretch. Not sure what all the criticism is about. honestly I don’t know what they could do that would please the fandom. People just can’t sit down and enjoy anything for what it is anymore.
It's people who have already decided they won't like anything from Disney, Marvel, or Lucas Films. It doesn't matter what it's like, and a ton of the bad reviews happened before the people had seen anything, and even now, they've seen 2 episodes and can't stop complaining.
People's taste in TV shows and movies has subjective I would even dare to ask you for a list of shows that you think are good or even excellent. My guess would be that we would find ourselves on the opposite ends what we feel is good or quality
That's about the dumbest thing I've heard, Darkside. Soon, they will have younger, far stronger fans in numbers. Lucasfilm is attracting new people. They don't care so much about the fans who have expectations of it growing up with them, or who have become programmed with such notions of their political preferences being a part of it. Star Wars was always made for kids 8-15, and it always will be.
As a SW fan, I don't like the idea of a celebrity as the prime Jedi, but. The film industry is a business and finance is required to make a film happen. That list definitely looks a deliberate finger to the "The Acolyte". I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.
I’m currently re-watching The Acolyte and I’m really enjoying it. I, too, was hoping to get more of Indara, let’s wait and see. Sol is incredibly likable and I’m almost a little bit anxious as to what we’ll learn about him, I hope we won’t lose him as well. Regarding Boba Fett, I would love to have him in the Mando & Grogu movie!
Hey what gives, that list didn't include the Droids show, the Ewoks show, or either of the Ewok movies! Personally, I love the holiday special, it's so bizarre!! But I think the list is fairly accurate. You have to remember that not everyone is a die-hard Star Wars fan. The Sequel Trilogy is more popular with non-fans than Star Wars fans, the Prequel Trilogy is more popular with kids who grew up with them but not with people who grew up with the OT, and the OT is pretty much popular with everyone. I'm surprised that the Mandalorian is so low on the list, that show pretty much saved Star Wars for years. I guess the most recent season didn't sit well with fans.
That list is a joke. NOBODY would put Rise of Skywalker that high, it's generous having it on the list at all imho, as well as quite a few other obvious errors.
What if Yord is the masked Sith. The robes maybe match (but they match just about every Jedi), it explains why he said Mae didn't kill Tobin (if the multiple personalities theory us true, he would know about it and want to protect her). It doesn't really explain how she's in different clothes so fast though.
@@Zatoichiisimmortal35 They haven't seen more than four episodes, so based on the first four, I say the plot twists aren't finished by then. There's still much to change the tide. Do you have a flat, lumpy brain? Are you jealous of the smooth-brained?
1:06 Yes but Meg try and think why Amandla would be saying that, what if you're meant to feel this way because it's all a trick? Do you remember Leslie Headland did say one of the things she drew inspiration from when writing this Acolyte show was "Fight Club". If you've ever saw that Film, one of the main characters there turns out to be false. So what if the witch coven actually using powers much like how Luke did in Rian's TLJ. Headland also talks about that movie too.
I agree entirely with you that something seems a bit off with The Acolyte series. I get the feeling that the audience is being wilfully misled. It seems like something more than just a twist is coming. I hope I am wrong.
Chapter 3 was left for us to think not have it all served on a plate and fed to you: 1) Rhyme time. The conception of the twins that was eluded to by an unnatural process. We have seen that before and this time its twins and a surrogate! 2) Broader view of the Force. Sid talked about it, so did Luke, Qui Gon also had a different perspective. The Mother too also had an opinion about the Force and about destiny (like the title). And is the coven not so unlike the Sith? The power of one, the power of two, the power of many (master, master and apprentice, army or empire). And that circular pattern! Empire, First Order, the pool in the cave at the top of Achto. Also, the blue white whites of the far off planet. Is it quite possible the Exogol appeared in the sky? 3) Jedi arrogance and hubris. The coven fears the jedi that they will collect the children and shut them down and that is no other way or choice in the Republic: your gifted child under 10 gets shipped off to the Jedi . There is a look (of horror) the Jedi all give when Mother reveals there was no father. That old prophecy about balance probably was not forgotten and is talked about in small circles of Jedi and church of the force users. 4) The Ending. Do we go with classic Jedi teachings (your eyes can deceive you --- thanks Obi Wan or do we expect to be spoon fed chapter and verse that this happened and not that. Like Romulan Ambassador Nunclis "we don't know what to believe." Were the Jedi responsible, or did the coven take matters into their own hands or did Mae cause this or did Mae influence her destiny. Nice symbolism in the final scene to the infamous Robert Frost poem!
I'm sure these actors are prepped about "Star Wars" fans prior to taking these roles at this point. The list if these people who have been harassed by "fans" is ridiculous at this point. All they have to do is say "I appreciate the passion", make their money, & move TF on. I can't wait for Acolyte episode 3 btw way. I appreciate you Meg! 💯
Here it is pure and simple. Osha and Mae are sharing the same body. Where there was 2 now there is one. Meaning that to each other, the other is the dream. If the acolyte must kill the dream, one sister must kill the other.
I’m a Star Wars fanboy, so I’ll be watching all of them. I loved Andor, but I’ve watched Obi wan most this year. Think I’ve been through it three times. I think it’s down to the young actress playing Leia, and Obi wan exclaiming “How old are you?”
Andor was boring they need to make season 2 of boba fett add more mandalorian not this other rubbish that the majority of true Star wars fans hate and I did not mind rise of the Skywalker or the force awakens that the last Jedi water bag of s*** that was and I don't mind miss marvel so you can't accuse me and not liking female leads but the crapalight is God awful that's what happened when you pick an activist to be the director you're going to get a TV programme that's made for a minority not the majority
I don't think it's a terrible show. I enjoyed it. And I don't think killing off Carrie Ann Moss's character was the big mistake people thought it was. First of all, she's obviously not done with the show. Mae killed her for a reason. She's going to have a part in flashback scenes where the inciting incident of the show happened. And secondly, I consider it like killing off Drew Barrymore in Scream: You kill off a big name actor for the shock value and to put the viewer off balance. The big misstep I think the show made was resolving the mistaken identity problem so quickly. It's not at all clear to me that the Star Wars universe would have this kind of mistaken identity problem in the first place, but leaving that aside, why would you even do the evil twin thing in the first place if you were just going to immediately drop it? That made no sense to me. Granted, it wasn't really a twist in the first place, because of the trailers, but if you're going to do it, commit to it.
I don't think your theory is that far fetched. I also believe Indara is the Sith Master. "The Jedi live in a dream. A dream they believe everyone shares. If you attack a Jedi with a weapon, you will fail. Steel or laser are no threat to them. But an Acolyte… An Acolyte kills without a weapon. An Acolyte…kills the dream." So in the opening fight scene Indara who is supposed to be the most skilled Jedi gets "killed" by a weapon, because of her compassion to protect others. Master Torbin kills himself, because he felt guilt for something he believed was wrong. There's also mention that Indara wanted the council to cease Osha's training. I believe Indara witnessed something on Brandock that shook her faith in the Jedi. Remember, this is set during the waning days of the High Republic when the era of chivalry gave way to corruption and manipulation. I believe Indara took in Mae and fakes her death in the 1st episode. She will show up in flashbacks, but ultimately will be revealed as the Sith Master. Nobody believes this could be true, but a good reveal must also have a good twist.
Hi Meg, awesome news update, I enjoyed Acolyte episodes 1 and 2, yes it was ashamed undula died early but as you say there are alot more twists to come so let us wait and see in future episodes, I am pleased the temeru might be in Mando and Grogu that would be great, Andor is gonna be great, I do not mind 1 A list celebrity but we do not want to many, the list is definitely in the wrong order thank you SWM
I didn't think you were that harsh with the Acolyte, I personally enjoyed it 100% Why? Nothing in common with anything. For me ALL NEW, I do not read DSWU books or comics in protest of Legends but do enjoy the television/movie side. This is why Andor strikes so high as well other than Andor himself, it is again ALL NEW. My rankings would be way different after agreeing on one and two, those are no brainers. I personally put Rogue One at 3, The Last Jedi at 4 and ROTS at 5. How's that for controversy hahahaha. Thanks Meg.
Was 6 or 7 when I saw Ep 4 to disclose my bias. I am also a fanboy, so unless someone ratchets my eyelids wide open, I can forgive illogical plots. But I am Force Sensitive, so “vibing” with the show is important. So here’s an example of how I score these shows. New Hope had nothing stupid or cutesy, and was compelling so great show! Empire I rank a little lower because the Ladies Home Journal had a spoiler heavy summary I read before seeing the show. Return of the Jedi had Ewoks, but the interactions of Luke/Leia and Luke/Vader were so moving, I score that movie highest, despite the Ewoks. S Tier in no particular order: Clone Wars cartoon seasons 1 to 7 New Hope Empire Return ot Jedi A Tier - Mando seasons 1 and 2 Phantom M Revenge of the Sith Rebels Andor Bad Batch B Tier Clone Wars Tartakovsky Rogue One Solo Mando season 3 The Acolyte C Tier Asoka Boba Fett Clone Wars movie D Tier The Last Jedi Kenobi Droids cartoon Rise of Skywalker F Tier Last Jedi Christmas Special
You are most forgiving… for me, who saw and loved the original trilogy in the theaters - and even loved the prequels, I just don’t find anything after Rogue One, the mandalorian, and possibly Andor that great. The Star Wars galaxy was a vast, surprising, fun place for all ages, and where you could trust you would learn important life lessons. It’s now way too serious, cruel and dark. It was never meant to be like this… As Yoda once said “For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter…” what ever happened to that?
Lightsabers make a microscopic cut that is instantly cauterized when the blade's pulled out so surviving lightsaber stabs is super possible. An elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.
🤣🤣🤣 Right, except when the Jedi are ever using a lightsaber on any of their enemies, throughout the entire existence of the franchise. Then, one slash with a lightsaber seems to kill people dead on the spot. But not in the new Star Wars MCU multiverse, where up is down!
The Phantom Menace score would've been in the 20% range had there been audience scores back then. The fact that young viewers at the time would eventually come to love the prequels and balance out all the old haters to about 50% sounds about right. The only score that's extremely surprising is the Rise of Skywalker. Although based on how it only got half the audience as TFA it makes some sense that anyone who bothered to finish watching the series would be predisposed to liking it.
I had no problem with them killing off Carrie’s character in the first episode. It shows the stakes, anyone can die. My problem was the dagger to the chest was kind of a weak way to kill a Jedi Master. The blade should’ve been poisoned.
I think Indara may be the sith. That's my theory...Mae looked surprised when the knife stabbed her in the chest like she didn't have any control of the dagger. Or the real sith was somewhere in the Cantina.
it strange to see Forbes put out a list like that, especially one that seems to be all over the place. I feel like Resistance was fun, but the story definitely took a while to develop and the art style wasn't the best (IMHO). Having said that, I'd love to see the characters and main base station show up again in other shows.
I like it. I wish people wouldn’t be so critical. With all these streaming services, we only get a handful of decent series that are worth watching. If it’s Star Wars, I will watch it, and not cry about little details. I especially enjoy the martial arts wire work and the Kill Bill aspect. People just like to complain and act like keyboard critics, like they know what goes into all the production work, props, editing and overall hard work.
The the charter need a back story before the fight, and with a master Jedi you seen a screen and a story that establishes why she faught that way and could win.Jedis defend but even in the original trilogy they kill when their opponent intends kills. The master had kill opportunities after she wS established an inte t to kill.
The one thing that I think that’s not necessary is putting the title for every planet they’ll be visiting. Especially if they’ll be saying “Set course for so and so.”
If I were a Jedi Master I would absolutely get BTFO so fast. Jedi are not untouchable, the prequel trilogy literally shows the majority of them getting absolutely genocided and half of them didn't even see it coming. Master Indara dying the way she did was totally fitting. I'm sure we will see much more of her in future episodes so I wouldn't get too upset about it just yet honestly.
There is a bit of a difference between being caught off guard by clones you’ve been fighting with for years that had no cognitive thoughts of their up coming betrayal and losing a 1v1 to throwing knives when you have a lightsaber you chose not use. Just saying
I think the people bashing this show are just mad this wasn't done the way they wanted it to go.. all fans have ideas for shows.. fan fiction is a thing... but these people probably submit ideas for the shows and then get mad when their idea isn't used.. disgruntled is an understatement on how they feel.. they make videos and feel they know more than the people that have been creating it for years.. they need to lose the ego and just enjoy the content. When i watch a show or movie, i shut my brain off and let the director show me their vision.. if i like it, great. If i dont, that's a me thing.. others have their opinions.. Keep up the good work, Meg.. you do a great job here, and I've followed you for a long time now because i think you get it right.. thanks for good content and dolid ideas, and great insite and comments on Star Wars shows and movies..
If you ever watched original Star Wars you would know how bad current Disney Star Wars is. Also have you not seen interviews or the gross ideologies pushed in these shows? They openly are racist to white people especially men..
Thank you for pointing this out. I agree with someone who said don't judge a series until at least ep 3, sometimes even more. It takes a bit to set the tone. I must say I'm not holding my breath but I'm wishful
Exactly! I swear it seems like no matter what brand new Star Wars show that comes on…. All these dumb ass toxic fans are just bashing it to pieces just for the hell of it. Now I personally can relate to certain shows/movies that Disney dropped the ball on…. But damn can’t we all just enjoy some new Star Wars!!!!??!? 😊
As long as Taylor Swift and Beyonce don't come out in Star Wars I am totally fine with it. My family and I are hoping Disney and Leslie Headland will not kill off Jedi Master Sol. He is the only coolest Jedi like Qui-Gon except he has more emotion and compassion I love his character absolutely and I love that there is Asian representation. ❤❤🎉🎉
Yes. Yes, they are. But what else could set your mind on fire? The dialogue hides what inspires genius writing and innovative thinking to create such a plot twist. You'll see why. Have patience, young padawan.
Everyone knows the review bombing is happening, so even mentioning the RottenTomatoes audience score is giving the review bombers the audience they want
@@bsmithhammer don't think so -- the 'Disney Woke Haters' are weak, needy - they need the vindication, need to be able to scream to the void "See I told you The Acolyte sucks" --- I don't see that on the other side. If you see some, post some examples
My weird top 8: 1. Return of the Jedi 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. The Phantom Menace 5. A New Hope 6. Rogue One 7. Attack of the Clones 8. The Last Jedi
The Acolyte was placed so low, because the Alt-right is spending more and more energy attacking almost every new product from Disney, not because it deserves it. I really appreciate being able to come to this channel for fair and reasonable reveiws.
@@bsmithhammer Nobody, especially me, said it was a conspiracy. It's a grift. The grifters who make money off telling guillible people what they already want to hear aren't in it together. They just all have reasonable pattern recognition. The alt-right is a giant cash cow, and the grifters are more than willing to milk them. Sounds like you moo.
"Why why why??? Why can't I have a multimillion dollar show tailored to me personally???". The grifters and their crybaby followers really found a pacifier in social media. They moan and cry 24/7 without any real consequence. Pathetic! 😀 Anyways. I like the show!
I just finished the third episode. For kicks, I put acolyte in RUclips’s search. I expected the antiwoke people to hate it, and ignored them. I found that not one single channel had a positive title, not one. Even the guys that don’t usually criticize had nothing good to say.
I think the book of boba fett got such a negative response is because it wasn’t the next season of mando if it had have come either after or the same time as mando it would have been fine, it seem to suffer the blame for the mando’s delay
I think it got such a negative response because the story line was all over the place, it had two inexplicable Mando episodes in the middle of it, and some dumb and unnecessary scooter gang, among other deficiencies. I had big hopes for the Boba series. It was pretty 'meh.' But it's a pinnacle of cinema in comparison to The Acolyte.
@@BillHughes-hz8ei not wanting to kill everything is not being a pansy, bad ass character? really ? The character was a largely silent one note villain that was barely in the movies and then was eaten at least the characters choices made sense
Even if i am not fully invested in a Star Wars show or movie, i will wat h the entirety of it before i fully judge it. If i dont like it, so be it. There will always be the lore it generated to add to the mythology.
Audience scores shouldn't even be considered for Star wars shows and movies anymore. The toxic bro's review bomb just about everything without even watching. The critic score is the only honest scale
Oh dearest Meg ~ All here in our home we feel Master Indara IS the Sith Master. Reach out, trust your feelings...Can not wait for the reveal! Missing the Mandalorian on the TV. Love your videos Meg you are the best!
I am on that same path. Indara is my #1 suspect.
Ohhhh, good twist......
I like it!
Omg!!!!😱 Why didn’t I think of that?! You ruined the show for me now!!! 😂😂
@@Zatoichiisimmortal35 LOL. Aren't you sensitive.
If you want to impress everyone, keep it simple. If you desire to impress the genius, create the unexpected.
How can the prequels get the lightsaber usage wrong? They were written and directed by the person who created Star Wars.
Good guys can still do bad things and be complicated and make mistakes. But all of the prequel era shows already explore this quite a bit.
Now i'll just shared something Leslie headland said a while back, because I think this really gives us alot of insight into Leslie Headland herself -
"When i was younger I was hanging out with Ursula the witch from the Little Mermaid. As a queer girl growing up, if you don't identify with the heroes, and the villains show up and they're all queer-coded, you're like - yes, that's me!"
Now I think this right here shows where our two sides of this fandom are at. "Well then you are lost!"
It just feels like modern society today is really messed up especially in Hollywood, it's like *Good* is BAD and "Bad" is now GOOD.

So what constitutes a good writer to someone like you? I am going to go out on a limb and say that you are not doubt a hater of the ST too? Be honest.
@@RaikenXion I think that most of what you said is disingenuous. You’re talking about a guilt ridden Jedi deleting himself as the worst thing to happen in Star Wars history. Let’s forget how Tarkin destroyed an entire planet, and how Anikan Skywalker cut down younglings…But okay. 🙄
As for the Jedi Order, you do know that they fell right? It didn’t just happen because the Jedi got lazy and were tricked by Darth Sidious, end of story. They got there gradually, it was a slow burn. Bad things had to happen to get the Jedi to where they became complacent to the point that their arrogance ended them.
This story and the High Republic stories tell us how the fall eventually came to be. Your suggestion that the show-runner hates the
”good guys” and wants to make them mean and make the “bad guys” cool is far from the truth and very small minded.
The RIse of Skywalker at position 6 on the Forbes list is insane!
No Revenge of the Sith on the list.
Fortunately, “Forbes” isn’t exactly an authority on Star Wars…
@@wadewilson524 You're right. The Rise of Skywalker at position 6 on anyone's list is insane!
Ths list was probably assembled by an intern who was born circa "The Last Jedi."
Forbes probably thinks Anakin destroyed the Death Star. They forgot Revenge of the Sith.
Come on...
Yeah, even though I think III is getting a little too much love, I do agree it does need to be on that list
Give me more Boba! I want more of him! I disagree with a lot of those rankings. Mando should be higher. Book of Boba too.
Agreed and I like your theory. That would be an amazing twist.
I definitely think there will be a significant realignment of how we view the characters.
I love how you keep the positivity despite your criticism of the acolyte. I love your content cause you are still willing to give shows a fair chance
Regarding review bombing, a good rule of thumb is to ignore all of the ones and all the tens and aggregate the score from what remains.
Forbes forgot to include "Revenge of the Sith" on its list. 🤣
Can't wait for Andor season 2, hands down the best story and writing we have gotten. I would still want a rated R Saw Gerrera mini series!
Episode V will always be my favorite though, saw it in the theater as a kid, I definitely have the nostalgia goggles on with that one, glad I have company!
It's really the only SW thing I'm looking forward to at this point. They're running everything else into the ground.
"Don't trust your eyes." There's not going to be a twist. There's going to be many twists.
I'm still hoping some of those "twists" actually make sense. None have so far.
@@bsmithhammer Okay it is if missed all the hints you have. Explain later we will to you.
That'd be interesting.
@@CapricornOnTheCob Understood, but there was only two knives. Lack of true master Jedi skills to be so easily distracted!
I don't disagree, but doesn't bother me too much. It could have been done better, but I get the premise; the "dark side" character exploited the Jedi's code to kill them. For me, it's fine, just not great.
Is there a site that would tell me the estimated dates and times for all the Star Wars series as they currently stand? TYIA
Thanks Meg! 🙏
Really, Stenberg's response should have been "Why are you complaining to me, I didn't write the episode, I just acted in it."
I mean, there is cause for backlash, Carrie Ann Moss was in all the commercials and trailers, and she's actually the only reason I gave this show a try.

People who were surprised at the death of Master Indara were not paying attention. It was the most obvious story thread from the trailer.
They were not paying attention and/or not actually interested in Star Wars projects outside of finding things to moan about.
Agreed.
Interesting list at 8:30 Hmm i'll write own lil later when time is ready ^^ Woop S01E03 of Beautiful The Acolyte on this week. Streaming via D+ 🙂
Wait till the third episode 🤣 you won’t be watching this with your kids after that
Don't let them hear you say that because they absolutely hate "normies"
What about Samuel L Jackson…?

@@Himmiefan Yes, absolutely!
You are so humble.
What if Yord is the masked Sith. The robes maybe match (but they match just about every Jedi), it explains why he said Mae didn't kill Tobin (if the multiple personalities theory us true, he would know about it and want to protect her). It doesn't really explain how she's in different clothes so fast though.
Including a show in rankings that has released 2 episodes is just idiotic.
Not if they are using the critic’s reviews, smooth brain.
@@Zatoichiisimmortal35 They haven't seen more than four episodes, so based on the first four, I say the plot twists aren't finished by then. There's still much to change the tide.

She thought about it. That's what she wants us to do by putting it that way.
Best Star Wars Movie ROUGE ONE. Literally flawless. TBH there was no way to f it up!
I agree entirely with you that something seems a bit off with The Acolyte series. I get the feeling that the audience is being wilfully misled. It seems like something more than just a twist is coming. I hope I am wrong.
Thanks for your coverage SWM!
Chapter 3 was left for us to think not have it all served on a plate and fed to you:
1) Rhyme time.
Never mind a season 2 for Bobba Fett. Instead, there should be a Fett standalone movie!

ROTS has a *66* % audience score on RT
Yeah and only cretints follow Rotten Tomatoes website. I guess you don't which is good ^^
I'm sure these actors are prepped about "Star Wars" fans prior to taking these roles at this point. The list if these people who have been harassed by "fans" is ridiculous at this point. All they have to do is say "I appreciate the passion", make their money, & move TF on. I can't wait for Acolyte episode 3 btw way. I appreciate you Meg! 💯
So, you remember the youngling that said they saw fire in episode 1? I think that's going to be part of the twist.
Here it is pure and simple. Osha and Mae are sharing the same body. Where there was 2 now there is one. Meaning that to each other, the other is the dream. If the acolyte must kill the dream, one sister must kill the other.
Why do I want boba and Luke to meet so bad and have a conversation about how he used to work for Vader.. that would be crazy
I’m a Star Wars fanboy, so I’ll be watching all of them. I loved Andor, but I’ve watched Obi wan most this year. Think I’ve been through it three times. I think it’s down to the young actress playing Leia, and Obi wan exclaiming “How old are you?”
the henry gif hahaa, great vids @StarWarsMeg keep it up
I think you're right about the twist Meg,the more I think about it the more it makes sense.
How is ROTS not on the Forbes list? That's shocking!
Whoever wrote that Forbes list is a total moof-milker!
There is NO WAY "Rise of Skywalker" is better than "Andor"!!!
@@danielspillett5393 Wow, thanks for the run-on sentence. Learn to use a period, or two....
Granted, it wasn't really a twist in the first place, because of the trailers, but if you're going to do it, commit to it.
nevermind Reva. Maul was sliced in half!!!
An Acolyte…kills the dream."
So in the opening fight scene Indara who is supposed to be the most skilled Jedi gets "killed" by a weapon, because of her compassion to protect others.
Thanks Meg.
the list forgot revenge of the sith!

🤣🤣🤣
Right, except when the Jedi are ever using a lightsaber on any of their enemies, throughout the entire existence of the franchise. Then, one slash with a lightsaber seems to kill people dead on the spot. But not in the new Star Wars MCU multiverse, where up is down!
...unless the wound is through a vital organ making it malfunction, then it would be fatal.
@@TalkitiveCargoPilot1969 so true.
Ranks are interesting, not surprised. The Acolyte still has to show more episodes to get a better rank.
It’s not review bombing if people hate it. It sucks , that’s just a fact.
And your opinion is like a bhole… everyone has one and they all stink.
“Forbes” isn’t exactly an authority on Star Wars…
Knife probably had that poison on it
Hello there!
Her character is not dead....My bet is that is that she is the Sith Master. If she is really gone, that is original
I had no problem with them killing off Carrie’s character in the first episode. It shows the stakes, anyone can die. My problem was the dagger to the chest was kind of a weak way to kill a Jedi Master. The blade should’ve been poisoned.
It makes good business sense to have Boba Fett in the Mandalorian movie. Whether they use him well is another story.
My wild guess is that the sith is Vernestra Rwoh. Just a gut feeling.
It sets the show's genius on par with Rogue One and Andor... It's just a little foreshadowing.
If only these Jedi had the foresight to watch the prequels. 😋
The first 2 episodes were absolutely fine, can’t people just enjoy Star Wars content without pulling it to pieces.
Because Trump cultists love to cause chaos.
I’ve enjoyed the episodes so far. Not so much all the publicity stuff I see.
I met Temuera Morrison In Dallas Yesterday!
In defense of someone dyeing from a knife to the heart vs a lightsaber to the stomach, a lightsaber cauterizes a wound a knife does not.
To me the first two were ok I do understand the criticism. Just wish they had more character development.
The actors should maybe just say nothing, they’re just doing even more damage!
Keep in mind that just the opposite is also happening.
@@bsmithhammer don't think so -- the 'Disney Woke Haters' are weak, needy - they need the vindication, need to be able to scream to the void "See I told you The Acolyte sucks" --- I don't see that on the other side. If you see some, post some examples
@@superjohngoldsmith8406 But...The Acolyte does suck. It's merely stating the obvious.

4. The Phantom Menace
5. A New Hope
6. Rogue One
7. Attack of the Clones

The Acolyte was placed so low, because the Alt-right is spending more and more energy attacking almost every new product from Disney, not because it deserves it. I really appreciate being able to come to this channel for fair and reasonable reveiws.
It’s not alt right to want good programming and not teaching kids leftist agendas

That list is clapped beyond all comprehension, with the exception of 1,2, and 23 (which should be 24 since RotS is missing from the list).
It just feels like I’m watching a Disney channel show. It’s almost like they don’t want any of their fans in their 20s anymore
When she grabs and looks at what looks like a lightsaber handle, that reminds me of Rey in The Force Awakens.
Thanks Meg! Impatience for Victory will Guarantee Defeat
"Why why why??? Why can't I have a multimillion dollar show tailored to me personally???".
The grifters and their crybaby followers really found a pacifier in social media. They moan and cry 24/7 without any real consequence. Pathetic! 😀
Anyways.
I didn't like BoBF because it took a once bad ass character and turned him into a pansy
