My theory is that Mae is dead already. Sol watched her die. Osha is Force Projecting herself when she's asleep with the help of Indarra. Indarra's death was the first misdirect. She's the Apprentice to an ancient Sith-Imbued mask. This is how the Sith returned, so in essence, Ki Adi Mundi was correct, from a certain point of view.
A Dyad can project to each other in the Force, but Force Projection takes two -- a Master and an Apprentice or an Apprentice and an Acolyte. Osha forgave the Jedi for their cover-up, but part of her wants revenge after she learned about it.
Indarra left the Order for a sabbatical but returned after she found the mask to perform a ruse. She's kept her identity very well hidden from Osha and the Jedi. The mask is powerful enough to use for her to connect with Osha in her sleep. When Indarra convinces her how they will get revenge, she's in, but only in her subconscious until the part of her in denial really wakes up.

Believe it if you want but most Hollywood writers are predominantly white, male and and far left/liberal leaning in terms of lifestyle and politics. Many of them are in interracial relationships, LGBTQ+ relationships or in relationships with other far left leaning individuals. The point I’m trying to make is that whatever you see is an echo of who is in charge of writing these series.

How do you know they didn't like the pitch she gave and idk, hire her bc she is talented with an impressive resume? Just bc they hire a woman or minority it's not just checking a box. Next time Filoni or Favreau do a show what box is being checked? This take never makes sense. It's just taking the identity of a person and making an assumption. For the rest of time, if they don't hire a white man is this what we have to out up with? If so, don't get mad when ppl respond with descriptions the end in -ist.

    • @taylormadealpha
      @taylormadealpha 3 месяца назад +1

Disney has the money. They made a mistake not spending more on Kenobi. Why would they double down on that mistake and spend LESS on everything else? That doesn't make sense. Can't go back and out more money into Kenobi but they sure as hell can make sure everything else is funded. I bet most of the Kenobi money went Into paying all that A list talent. The answer isn't go cheaper. They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. They don't spend enough it looks cheap. For the rest of time, if they spend whatever it takes, ppl will say "But Kenobi". That was a long time ago now. It's over. Maybe if ppl supported Solo instead of sitting it out sulking bc of Last Jedi, we would had Kenobi and Boba Fett Star Wars Story movies, not D+ shows.

After watching it a couple times I did enjoy episode two more than I did at first. I am intrigued on why the Jedi drank the poison so willingly, and it feels like they are making it kind of vague for a reason.
I hope it gets better, but I was not sold on Andor until after episode four so we will see.

  • @IsaacKuo
    @IsaacKuo 3 месяца назад +4

I was kinda hoping episode 3 would be entirely a flashback episode, and it was! I'm VERY happy with it ... but I can already tell it's not the whole story. Obviously this is the version of events from Osha's perspective, but there are strange things missing. Like, we don't see her running through a forest fire. And looking forward, there are still scenes with Indara in the trailers that we haven't seen yet.
I feel like when Osha learns more about what really happened, she's going to be in for some serious ... well yeah I could see her being the ultimate target of the Sith plan, "killing" her dream that she shares with the Jedi and turning her to the Sith side.

They comment only to moan & groan about how STAR WARS has been ruined since George Lucas sold it. The story line this, the character that… Boo f#*king hoo! If you really are the STAR WARS fans that you claim to be, then you’re a bunch of hypocrites who had no problem accepting the Ewoks! Right?! You sucked it up & asked for seconds. Of course you’re entitled to your opinions, but must you complain at every single post. As a fan, I’m enjoying the ride. Once upon a time early fans never thought that more films, animated & live action series were coming. Maybe that’s it. You’re spoiled. Since I was about 5 years old when the first movie came out and lived through the empty period from ROTJ to the TPM I feel like this is a golden age of Star Wars content. We were so starved for Star Wars content in the late 80s that I preordered the Thrawn Trilogy in hardback. I read most of the major novels of that era. I went to see the Special Editions in the theater and I watch TPM over a dozen times in the theater. It was all we could talk about at work the year it came out. We all thought it was done when ROTS rolled credits so the second Clone Wars animated series was an absolute treasure to me.
I'm not a fan of the Sequels but almost everything else I've enjoyed and some of it I absolutely loved. It blows my mind how negative people are being and it sickens me to know that a huge percentage of the people who are being like that are doing so because of their prejudices and hatred towards people IRL. I really really didn't get why everybody was shitting on this so hard until I happened to look up who was running the show and then... sadly all of the hate fell into place for me and I knew why and it just knocked me for a loop. These people who are being haters are toxic AF and acting out of fear and prejudice and it makes me very sad that so much of the fan base has that kind of hate in their heart.

Fight Club is a good Movie even without the reveal because the whole tension in the film is leading up to that. That's not the case with The Acculight.
We're 77 minutes into the series and it's not really exciting because the dialogue is boring when you listen to it.
Nowadays, everything is designed to look good visually, while the characters, dialogues and interaction suffer.

So congratulations Acolyte for beating a 9th ranked opening episode instead of something like House of the Dragon that had just as many promotions, similar fan base, and problems with later episodes like Star Wars’s sequel trilogy and pathetic TV series.
Plus House of the Dragon premiered at 9.98 million views the first night in the US alone unlike Acolyte that took almost six days to accomplish half that worldwide. Fans want a rich history of character they love. Amazing well written story without any agendas or DEI. They are also sick of the directors and Disney using fans as escape goats for bad acting and badly written story. But if Directors, Actors, and writers start calling fans names and accusing them of being toxic men, racism, sexism, anti-female, or bigots with the DEI agenda. Fans will fire back and these big companies forget that what makes a movie money is the fans. You insult them with name calling and accusing them of being something just because they want a decades rich story well written without DEI. They will boycott your movies. This is just common sense .

House of Dragon, new characters from a franchise just like Acolyte is new characters from a franchise, premiered its opening episode to 11 million viewers in the US alone. On a streaming platform just like the Acolyte is which only got 4.8 million, for two episodes so 2.4 each, for the whole world viewing figures.
it wasn’t 13%, it was 3% of all Disney subs who watched the first two episodes of the Acolyte. The lowest ever viewers and fan rating - 27% - for a SW show.
I really, really wish it were a good Star Wars series Meg, but it just isn’t anywhere near good. It’s OK, that’s all, and even that’s being kind with all the dumb choices and actions of the characters, the daft lore changes, clunky dialogue, stuff that just doesn’t make sense and stuff that’s just really dumb. Why did Torbin say “i’ve been waiting for you May”..? She’d only been there the night before. Why did the Jedi “Master” let the obvious and admitted accomplice to a Jedi murder, and the murderer of the Apothecary owner whose shop he was occupying and whose clothes he was wearing, off with a warning? Why didn’t the Jedi just go in and arrest him and then use the mind-trick thing he used a little while prior to that on the recaptured prisoner? And on and on and on.

Portraying the Jedi as the evil is a 180 degree turn from the Lucas stories. He has stated he viewed it as a conflict of good and evil.
Now we all know life is not that simple but we do enjoy entertainment that is written that way. It helps us stay sane. We try to walk like our hero’s.
While Lucas was inspired by Akira Kurosawa among other film makers, when I want complexity, I watch Kursawa’s Rashomon. When I want good vs evil I watch Lucas or Tom Cruise.
It was risky to try and keep the fans when you flip the myth. Imagine doing a prequel to Casablanca and having Rick be abnormally attracted to children. Or Victor Laszlo or Isla were were really Nazi spies and antisemitic. Interesting but probably not well received.

How can you have the Sith around in a 100 years but didn't exist for a 1000 years?

I personally; and this is just me, I'm put off by how Ms Lesley has made this show about a woke agenda. In addition to Disney making it a "woke" thing as well.
From a directors standpoint you are intrinsically charged with doing justice to an iconic IP. Star Wars was such a cultural phenomenon that it is literally apart of every fans life. And honestly I'm happy that star wars "saved my life" for Leslie. But for the love of God don't make it about a lesbian trying to escape the evil Mr Weinstein. Star wars is for everyone. And there is a definite "I'm catering to the LGBTQ community" over regular Joe fans from Disney and the entire production.
The actors on screen have been ok. The writing imho has been sub par. Like really really really bad. The series markets itself as a "who done it tale" however we know in the first episode who did it. Off camera the actors are completely focused on telling everyone they are a part of star wars vice letting their work speak for itself.
Production quality IMHO is terrible, compare it to mandalorian or andor. It's no where close to them. And Ahsoka is arguably better. The digital backgrounds are completely suss, it makes me wonder if they even use the vault at all. One thing that I can't get over is how lazy the makeup artist was in painting the green Jedi. She literally looks like she went into a spray painting booth at an auto shop. Mirialans normally have a black pattern tattoo. Indicating their status and where they come from. It's just irritating and lazy.
Lastly I am very bothered about how the proverbial middle finger was thrown to George Lucas in regard to this being a non Skywalker saga property. A knights of the Old Republic franchise is still very much rooted in George Lucas lore.
So these are the things that have put me off to this series. I'm pretty sure there are very many other people who share the same opinion of what they are watching.
At the end of the day George Lucas himself said that Star wars was created for children. Why does the show have so many undertones of things that children should not concern themselves with?
Closing thought does anybody else find it laughable, the way that Mae calls out other Jedis? How can you take that s*** serious? If I were Carrie Ann Moss, i'd tell Mae to go back to the "little kids table".😂

No matter what theories Star Wars Meg comes up with for this show, I'm not invested. I do not care, the views come from hate watching the show instead of fans actually wanting to see what happens to these characters. I'm just not interested in their stories and I'm disappointed because I like Star Wars, the OG Trilogy, The Darth Maul Phantom Menace fight scenes, Rogue One darth Vader scene, The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2. The mandalorion season 3 the season finale. The Knights of the Old Republic Cinematic trailers.

I'm not surprised by these stats from the first 2 episodes. I was someone who was hugely looking forward to this show. Finally getting away from the Skywalker saga. But I just feel it lacked a bit oomph! It had nothing to keep me hooked. I feel it was missing something. The second episode, I nearly fell asleep. I feel they've missed a trick on something that could've been mind blowingly awesome. I'll keep watching, and I hope it massively improves. If it doesn't improve, I won't be recommending it to my friends to watch. I'm a Star Wars nut, so I'll watch it regardless. But for people who would watch if it was good, but they're not Star Wars nuts, it has to improve before I can recommend it. I sure hope it does.

The viewers ship is down because nobody is invested in these characters except for Jackie if you’ve read the High Republic series. I am a Star Wars pierced. I will watch anything of Star Wars to expand the lore. I have watched episode one to at least 25 times. It definitely has my interest. I’d like it so far. I am intrigued by what Sol said at the beginning “ close your eyes, your eyes could deceive you “ That’s why I re-watched this episodes to see if I can find something. This really intrigued me. I don’t know why individuals are hating on the series. is it because a email is in charge of it? Is it because the main character is a female? Come on people this is 2024. It was the program. Enjoy it for what it is, Star Wars.

First off what this does not take into account is watch parties as well, maybe there were not as many rewatches over the five days but actual eyeballs the premiere night was most likely higher than views. Streaming is a different ball game than the old days of Neilson ratings by far. Such a difficult metric to monitor. Every time you talk about this show I myself get excited BECAUSE yet again it is NEW. The people so desperate to still need the old characters need to learn to differentiate like I have. I honestly have yet to find another fan who thinks like I do. SW is DONE. It ended when Lucas sold it to Disney and I am perfectly fine with the timeline I own as an invested fan. DSWU is not my SW but one I get to enjoy just for the enjoyment of the theme and the stories, I do not NEED the old characters because to me they are in a different SW world, the REAL one. Everything that Disney has done is just for poops and snickers (to be polite). I do not bother wasting money on books and comics anymore as this SW is not relevant to me but is simply fun and new. One should be able to enjoy it for what it is, its better than nothing at all. Think of it as when a band goes left field with an album, if you are a real fan you still enjoy it for what it is but you do not have to punish them forever for doing it. Lots of rambling indeed. Post ROTJ would be ok but then yet again it's the old characters being moulded in ways the 40YOV will most likely hate regardless. Have a gooder Meg.

    It's horrible. The numbers
are absolutely trash with no excuses allowed. Fallout had a mainly female cast with 5+ women/women of color including the lead role with 2 of them being in a relationship. Starwars acolyte is poorly written with predictable twist and storytelling. Nothing is a mystery in this so-called mystery as every single situation is explained in 5 to 10 minutes. Has more plot hole then a fishing net. You can't put it on men, or lgbtq+bashing. Fallout hadall that and even with the huge fear it was getting the TLJ treatment people overwhelmingly binge watched it. Fire Kk and LH. Its trash pouring out of a dumpster fire with those 2. No money made on a cash cow in 12+ years and everything they 5uch spoiled like milk in the sun. Hasbro went broke because they couldn't sell a single tlj toy in over a decade. You can represent and still write a good story. Fall out has shown us that and Leslie. Headlined and Kathleen Kennedy show us that they cannot.

I think its wild how our metrics for success have changed so wildly in the streaming era. 11 million viewers on a broadcast network would be a full-on home run. Granted, a network show would be generating ad revenue, and wouldn't have had a budget like this. So I get that the paradigm for media consumption has changed. Still, I'm just old enough to feel weird seeing 11 million views treated as mediocre.
As far as familiar vs new, I want a mix of both. I love that we're exploring the tail end of the High Republic, but in no way to I want them to abandon the Skywalker era entirely. There's still plenty of story to be told, and personally I think animation is the way to go. It costs less, its way easier to find voice doubles than to recast these iconic characters in live action, and frankly, the animated content we've had to date has been the high point of the franchise since the OT. Honestly, despite really looking forward to seasons 2 of Andor and Ahsoka, I'd be fine if all the TV stuff was animated going forward. Save the live action installments for feature films.

Even though we know that the bulk of the viewership for a show like this comes form the casual audience that isn't terminally online and has no idea about the haters of the lovers of the show or any controversy. I believe Sol and Kalnaaka weren't involved directly. I am curious to find out what happened prior to the fire and the closed door. Having just watched the third episode I'm starting to get really pissed off at the haters and the doubters. This is a good show and people saying otherwise are doing so before they've every seen it based on outside influences and opinions and not the actual show itself. I'm really sick of this crap. I used to have my problems with Disney and some of their practices and creative choices but at this point I'm ever more inclined to support them because of all the unjust BS being hurled at them.
If we want to have an honest discussion about things they've failed at fine let's do that. I don't like The Sequel Trilogy, I think it was a mistake to build the Star Wars attractions around those movies and I don't like that they are slowly connecting the Mandoverse to them either. Sone of the other content is a bit meh. Obi Wan had some great moments but the quality was uneven, same is true for BoBF and to a lesser extent Ahsoka. But a lot of the other content since Disney took over is as good as any Star Wars ever made. And even in the shows I mentioned that I thought were meh there were moments every bit as good as any I've ever seen. Overall if the Sequels hadn't been a rehash, followed by a change in direction out of left field with bad characterization and a desperate and poor quality Hail Mary attempt to fix the mess at the end I'd be content with what I've seen up to this point.
This show is only 3 episodes in of an 8 episode arc. Maybe it's going to drop the ball at some point. Maybe it will end up meh. But it certainly hasn't done that so far and I'm sick of all the hate it's getting on pure prejudice and bias that has nothing to do with the actual show.
