  • Star Wars The Acolyte episode 3 'Destiny' showed us the Jedi on Brendok who might have killed the witch coven. What if Master Sol is the Sith in hiding who has Qimir and Mae working for him? Leslye Headland and Lee Jung-jae have teased a big plot twist and in this Star Wars theory we look at what might be a dark truth for the High Republic pre-Phantom Menace series.

yeah me too lol and suspiciously enough when we first hear the dark side user at the end of the first episode the speech patterns between sol and this helmet wearing dude I'll just call zipperface because his mask looks like line up atop one another. except for the fact that when sol speaks he struggles with the English language like he's talking while chewing on an apple. but i think there is artificial enhancements buffering up zipperface. and they just did that to introduce the bad guy and to protect sol from scrutiny so soon. But god damn am I liking him for zipperface. he was so convinced may was dead. I never been that convinced unless the head detached from the neck what was it that he thought he saw that convinced him. and why the hell did he drop that as soon as ocea says, "I think may is still alive,"
sol: you know what I believe you
yeah well now I don't believe you. you is highly dubious my friend. he's either an idiot. or trying to play the part of one so much he should be wearing clown shoes. but his stride is as confident as John wick let me tell ya.
But, the thing i've settled on knowing is arriving the centerpiece of the argument is the Carrie ann moss. she failed ocea. ocea says she left. but we all know ocea is the disguise that activates to drop down over the killer. the dude who had his mind hijacked and the wookie were probably hijacked by the witches who wanted to get them to wipe each other out. but how they achieved this was by attacking the barriers the Jedi install to furnace their inner space with deep meditative peace to achieve clarity of thought. a scenario that is almost humorous concerns the witches tearing away those barriers and the wookie getting a vision of the guys under garmet and so he is threatened and compelled to attack. moss looks at her partner and in that moment she later has decided that she's going to fail ocea not cause of may but because of sol. and sol said to himself, "this bit* has got to go," because it's now obvious that ocea was quite "special" to him. we have yet to find out the exact reason why. But there is no mistake. he's my horse. i'm putting fifty down on sol.

Don’t forget Leslye is obssesssd with Kreia, who was once a Jedi turned Sith Lord who spends the entire Kotor 2 game as an ex Jedi master with a different view of the force. I am puzzled why everything seems to assume the helmeted figure is the Master, when previous helmeted figures were always at most the Apprentice. I don't think it's too obvious that Qimir could be the Sith Master, while the helmeted figure is the Sith Apprentice.
Anyway, I do suspect Sol has done some sort of "memory wipe thing" or whatever it is Jedi do to Osha. But I think it would be more interesting if he earnestly did this entirely as a loyal member of the Jedi Order, rather than a secret Sith. We're supposed to see that the Jedi aren't so great, and it would be better for this to be seen in the form of an actual Jedi rather than a secret infiltrator or betrayer.
I keep coming back to the idea that the Sith wants to destroy the Jedi dream. Well, how would the Jedi dream be destroyed by some outsider instigating evil things? That's just business as usual.
But the Jedi were disturbed by the possibility a former Jedi had murdered their own. That was something that they needed to keep discrete. That was something that troubled them in a way no outside enemy could.
So, I feel like Sol is culpable for some very bad things, but not as a secret infiltrator. He's a loyal Jedi Master. But the Jedi aren't all that.

  • @artiemedley9369

The signs of a good theory are both plausibility and believability. Sol being the Sith would be a fantastic twist, however, if Quimir is the Apprentice, and the conduit between Mae and the Sith, his interaction with Sol when he was being interrogated about the poison would've had to have had revealed Sol's identity. Sol has an unmistakable voice. One I'm not sure could be easily altered. The plausibility box is checked, but the believability box is not. But, if they manage to create a voice altering box for the Sith, or some apparatus like that, then I'm all for this twist.

Precisely. Qimir is not a master.
In Legends, Darth Gean was a Twi'lek Banite follower who disappeared around 500 BBY, _which breaks the millennium thing Ki Adi said,_ but it could be her. She could have returned she was in stasis, carbon-frozen, or died. One way is obviously to wake up, the second is to thaw, but the third is the most interesting. She could have imbued her helmet or an artifact with essence transfer. If the person under the helmet is being guided to bring back the Sith, it could become significantly interesting.

When I rewatched Ep 1 + 2 one thing that jumped out at me was Sol's odd behaviour. He aggressively inserts himself into the investigation, he's very quick to believe Osha, and doesn't put Osha in handcuffs to the great discomfort of the other Jedi. And there's something in his voice, I thought it was Lee Jung-jae's limited English, but now I think he's playing Sol as somehow who's wearing a "mask" and that flat wooden tone is the "mask", hiding his real intent. If we run with the Osha/Mae one person, then protecting the Sith assassin Mae, means protecting Osha. One option might be Sol is the Master, and the Apprentice (Ximir?) is trying to use Mae to kill him.

Edit: I still think it’s more likely Oscha has the alter ego killer (the Mae personality)

  • @JediHangout
    @JediHangout 13 дней назад +2

Interesting theory. Here is what I think might be Darth Plagueis is the master and Qimir is the apprentice and of course Mae is the Acolyte. Mother Koril for some reason I suspect has some connection to the Sith and aided in the killing of her sisters (not sure how this fits in yet). On the other hand it could be Darth Tenebrous is the Sith Master and Sol is him in disguise and Qimir is the apprentice, BUT here is yet another theory I have. It's either Darth Darth Tenebrous or Darth Plagueis who is the Sith and Sol is the apprentice who is in disguise as a Jedi to help find Acolytes for the Sith. Oimir in this later theory is probably another Acolyte or someone who helps the Sith.

I do love the theory that Mae is really dead and Osha has taken in Mae’s personality. It’s true what Allen Xie said that we never saw older Mae and older Osha in the same frame. If they’re dyads, Mae’s spirit might have taken over Osha’s body and mind. Think *Moon* *Knight.* The younger Mae and Osha were portrayed by twins but were not identical while older Mae and Osha are portrayed by one person. Mae could really be dead. Osha has two personalities in her. Mae the Force be with you, Osha.

I've seen many people with this theory--that Mae and Osha are one person. But I don't understand how that would work practically? Like in Fight Club, when you learn the truth, you look back on the movie and it sort of blows your mind how Ed Norton and Durden never DID anything at the same time, like it's totally feasible that it really was one person all along. But in the Acolyte, there are already multiple times where Mae and Osha are both doing things, interacting with people, killing people, etc, in different places at the same time. The most clear one being when Mae is giving poison to Torbin while Osha is with Sol and the others, but there are others too.

I think there are some other things to suggest that he is training Mae. He said that he wanted to save them both which seems like a regret that he is still carrying. He wanted to face her alone when allowing Osha to face her would have created enough of a distraction to capture her (but that would have made a short series...lol). Their fight seemed like a master and apprentice fight to me, he removed all of her weapons in their fight (her master insisted that she kill the Jedi without a weapon), he tried to determine who her master was which could also be a test to ensure that the Jedi would not be able to find out by reading her mind. Also he quickly went along with hiding the possibility that one of their trained (Osha) could be responsible for Indara's murder knowing that justice would be swift, this suggests that he could be at odds with the Jedi ways but is playing along and manipulating the outcomes.

How come Osha didn’t remember Mae started a fire when she woke up? Sol told Jecki that he met Osha when he was stationed on Brendack. Another lie. Brendack was an uninhabited planet. We may not know who the Sith Lord is from Season 1 of The Acolyte.
One thing is for sure… it is NOT Sol.
We may want to start looking for evidence it is VanEstra, Sol’s boss at the Jedi Temple. She seems to be using Sol for her own Sith needs.

When i was watching i thought straight away that there was something a bit off with Sol just appearing like that when the fire happened. It had only been burning for 10-20 mins maximum - the length of time it would’ve taken Osha to escape and run down a tunnel (which weirdly led her to the one place in a massive hollowed out mountain-castle where May was standing but that’s another of many dumb things) - and there he was. How? Why?

So hear me out and bear with my long comment… I have the feeling that it’s osha that has the alter ego as Mae. Or… the ghost of Mae tends to take possession of oshas body. I think the reoccurring hallucination of Mae leading OSHA into certain scenarios has been an ongoing thing. She’s been haunted by Mae who gets her to follow her and takes control over her to do her biddings. There’s a reason why the twins were not identical as small children. That was deliberate because they actually were NOT identical twins. If Mae were actually alive she’d be portrayed my a different actress with similar physical attributes as Amandla. Idk if someone is responsible for that wether it’s a Sith Lord creating these hauntings with OSHA, it could be sol,But I don’t see a reason. It could be mother koral seeking revenge on the 4 Jedi But my guess is that torbin has a role to play in it. His involvement in this incident caused him to take precaution to hide his involvement and possibly the identity of the sith, so he takes the baresh vow to maintain secrecy. When Mae visits him it was a sign for him that the plot is starting to unravel and his cue to take his life. He’s been in possession of the bunta since his time in brendok. I’m betting that The scene where Mae gives it to him didn’t actually happen but took place in his mind. He may have been backed into a situation where that was the only way to protect his fellow Jedi. So he took his own vile of bunta. I’m almost certain he had something to do with it because there’s a scene in the trailer which shows telnaca doing a jump attack on torbin with his saber. And at the end of ep 2 with telnaca not wearing Jedi garments suggests that he’s in exile. Along with indara calling for OSHAs training to be discontinued. I think torbin may have manipulated all this to happen. I think master sol might know about osha either being manipulated, possessed or having an alter ego and he’s going along with it to unravel the mystery. Definitely some dark force magic going on. But one things for sure, we haven’t seen the end of mother karal. We never saw her in the pile of dead bodies. Maybe she’s a Sith Lord who either infiltrated the coven or she aligned with the Sith and betrayed the coven. Karal seemed hard on osha so I’m guessing that she might be the sith and wants to unlock oshas potential and her attachment to mother aniseya was holding her back and her wanting to leave the coven were used to as a a motive to get to that point. So she destroyed the coven, causing osha to join the Jedi to lay the foundation for tapping into the force then acquire her as an apprentice. I think qimir is the acolyte and OSHA is being set up to be the apprentice and the black figure is the sith which could be mother karal. That is my definitive theory.

    • @erinm9445

Your theory with Torbin having the poison all along doesn't hold up, because Mae had to have that girl help her break into the temple. The breakin to the temple by someone that looked like Osha is the only reason Osha and the Jedi even went to the temple. And the girl that helped with the break-in recognized Osha as looking exactly like Mae. So it didn't all happen in Torbin's mind. Even if it isn't what we think, *someone* broke into the temple looking like Mae/Osha, and getting that little girl's help. As for the twins not looking identical, that may have just been the nature of the twins they were able to cast, the twins that were the best actors that looked the most like Amanla just weren't quite identical, I wouldn't read into that too much.

@@erinm9445 ok so possible that she snuck in the first time but likely not the second. I still could be wrong but Mae and osha are definitely the same person. I’m using fight club as the basis for this theory. Throughout the movie we thought the two main characters were two different ppl and were depicted as such but at the end it made it clear that they were the same and gave more visual exposition about how the main character moved. I think the same will happen with the acolyte as leslye stated that she told her cast members to watch fight club. And also force projection is also a thing in Star Wars now.

going with this theory... if it is Master Sol, and he finds this Virgance in the force, he may be looking to use it the way palpatine used it... almost like this is how the sith are trying to win, and they are doing this, like the rule of two, until they perfect it, which they think they did in the original trilogy era.

It is an interesting theory, however i don't think we can draw any conclusions from what we have learned so far, because the writing is so bad that where you see a clever potential plot device, might just turn out to be something Lesley didn't even give it a second thought
We just cant play "what if this means this" because the writing is bad enough to allow for too many wrong conclusions
In interviews she has more or less said outright that she was "faking it until she makes it", and that she "had no idea what i was really doing"
She said this was how she got through the interview, and then how she set about trying to decide what to actually write about
Is Master Venstra hiding something? Or is that just bad acting that happens when you are not hired for your talent, but because you're married to the writer?

I don't believe Sol is a closet sith.. It's possible, but I believe highly unlikely.
What about Venestra Rwoh? The parallels between her and Palpatine are there. A bureaucrat, manipulating the system, while secretly a sith. Increasing the dogma within the order, setting it up for some sith further down the line (eventually Palpatine) to destroy it. Her apprentice is Plageus.

  • @AmosCheek

It would make sense and a cover up by the Jedi would easily explain away with a cover up as to why in the prequels it is stated that the sith hadn't been seen in a thousand years as they would be ashamed to acknowledge one of their own, a respected one at that, had turned to the darkside. Hence a grand cover up with only a small handful in the time of the prequalls would have been around for it

Interesting thoughts hmm. I still cant completely judge the show after 3x nice episodes are out in D+ Library. No doubt that good story twists happen by end of S01 🙂 Saying this because knowing how good Russian Doll Telly show is 💯% Couple more days before can wind-down with S01E04 via Disney+ 🙂 Yes episode drops at early morning here & i stream at late evening to wind-down after day's activities. Still for five weeks wednesday noon, daytime & early evening is spent with careful steps around wicked wide ✅
Done so to avoid episode spoilers. So far after El Bueno 3x episodes, the ratings i gave at couple websites are 7,7 & half, but couldn't give there so rounded second episode to 7. Third episode also 7 ^^ I'm sure that fluctuation happens as season rolls forward. S01 PT1 review to blog page & couple websites day after streamed S01E04 via D+ 🙂 Enjoy S01 of Beautiful The Acolyte via D+ & be well 🙂

I think the “hunting the 4 jedi” thing is more than Mae’s revenge, I think its Sol orchestrating the elimination of the three jedi who know the truth about what happened to the witches. Killing witnesses. He only targets himself-including himself in the 4 hunted jedi- as a decoy.

If Sol is the Sith (and it would be cool if he was), then the strategy of infiltrating the Republic and masking his dark side echo is one, he would pass down the line to his eventual apprentice and further on all the way to Palpatine. Which would vibe with Maul saying that they finally will reveal themselves to the Jedi. Which MIGHT mean, that Sol was never found out. Imagine that.

    mmmmm interesting....
honestly from the start the song and song is going trough my head.... most say its essential , but they say nothing about the dance and i also think that is a very essential thing we are missing ....
and i also wonder what is so bad about the twins conception that is to detriment to the jedi....
the jedi know about the dark ways and resurrections so i dont think its that....
so i had this thought :
what if Soll is the unseen dad....
that the mother took her dna and that of Soll to make the twins...??
that would be more of a scandal a jedi having kids....because its not alowed let alone having one withe a witch...
the trade would be that he would come and collect one of the kids for his recruitment one day.
and it would explain the song.....
the "mother"and Soll did the dance and sing the song we here and see... as a lovers promise
    Born as one :
as in insemination al be it artificial and implanted into a surrogate...
it would explain the dance as to me it reads as a lovers embrace sort of dance
    i give you you :
as in the mother gives / promises Soll the kid we call ocia (but could be another name) before the ceremony...
and you give me me :
as in Soll promises he will give may ( me ) to her the "mother"
    or the other way around....
the only thing is that the "mother" is / was going to double cross Soll and wants to do the ceremony on both kids .
So what we haven't seen is that Soll has been to collect one of the kids before , its why they fled from the last home.... from then Soll was looking for them and found them again as we enter the story.....
the "mothers"know this and they are afraid they wil abduct one of them , thats why they are not allowed to go outside....
they know hes spying on them....as we see
he thinks that the mothers wil double cross him and thats why he was keeping an eye on them and they burst in as they do at the ceremony.
he spins / spun some story for the other jedi to help him not knowing what they are letting themselves in for....
its why some regret what has happened as they unwillingly helped in a jedy that has lost his way ans thusly lost face etc etc....
the fact he knows there are jedi kids there is because he lent his dna to one....
the only thing they did not or the "mother" was hoping not to count on is that one of the kids would lean more towards the dads dna ea the jedi side and one to the mothers side ea the darker....
this happens also in real life.....ex my boy leans more to me something i did not expect as i lent more to my mum as a kid.....
as to the sith....it could be that the surrogate mothers treuth art was unearthed after she had to be separated from one of her kids.... real surrogates have trouble withe this 2 sometimes as having them in your woom binds them....
so she got double crossed by Soll and "the mother"....
this enraged and led her down the path of the dark side....
so dark that she possessed the kid she had the strongest bond with and try to kill everyone that double crossed her.... its why may is out to kill because its the people she could not get to anymore in the temple.....
and its why Soll never said there was a twin....
because if she and the jedi could ever read his mind and know the treu story about him giving his dna to some whitches and that ocea was alive she would be on that list....Soll would be in trouble for having a kid etc....
its why ocea took distance from the jedi because she "had a bad feeling about this " and because she is no longer a jedi does not appear on the list.....and they thought she had died....
so as withe luke and laya he hid her in plane sight....
But we know that when we meet Soll he has trouble withe concealing her ....
That is because he is time and time corrected by his paduwane and other jedi that he should not linger on the past , and have emotional attachments....
Its why that one jedi has not talked for over 10 years because he feared he could not keep Soll his secret anymore and blab out....
Its why Soll is so sure he would talk to him and no one else....
and he kills himself because he wants out of keeping the secret.... and he feels he as failed as a jedi in helping a fallen jedi in this "immoral"quest..... Soll wants to get there quick before he blabs the truth to the others....he was maybe even trying to kill him....he feels his passing but is not even upset by it ....he is even more relived when we get to the body....he shows no scene of morning his fellow jedi...
and the question now is how did he find out Soll his secret ??
Whell he did the blood test.... then when he read the medicolrian count he must have found out that thekid had Soll his dna or very similar to it....
As far as we know he wasn't looking for ocea....stuff just happened
but he was keeping tabs on his kid..... its why when they tel him the story of the murders he knows where she is and knows she is innocent....
But again who am i 🤣🤣🤣
i could be totally wrong but its what goes through my head....
ps that sith....i know the time line is totally wrong but it gives me knights of wren vibes

Like it. Had some thoughts in the same direction. I was thinking more on the lines of gene splicing. They gave us the sad tale of Dr Pershing, in the 3rd season of the Mandalorian, for a reason. In his lecture he not only talked about cloning, but gene splicing. The Republic considered both to be unethical. What if Mother Aniseya needed to use gene splicing to create the twins? If you wanted this added genetics to have high Force/Thread abilities? Where would you look for a large selection of such individuals to choose from? All you need is a few hairs with the roots attached to get a lot of DNA material. According to stories about witches they can do all kinds of spells, good and bad, with a person's hair. So they search out and steal what they need from some Jedi. So years later one of these Jedi (Sol) feels a tug in the Force. He follows this thread to this coven of witches. They go into hiding when they realize he is getting close. Sol hot on their trail. Where he is dismayed to discover the Force has lead him to twin girls. This is where things spiral out of control. This would serve not only the comment about the Jedi not liking how the children were created and not steeping on canon.
