  • The Acolyte mystery helmeted Sith might be someone from Mae's past and not Qimir or Yord Fandar, as some Star Wars fans assume. Leslye Headland has teased how the series shows Sith vs Jedi in a new way and in this explained video, we look at the Sith Code and why it applies to Master Sol, Torbin and the Wookiee Jedi Kelnacca.

What a lot of people didn't pick up on, is that Qimir quite effortlessly stopped Mae from attacking him further when she tried to kill him. He did it in an instant and pushed her up against a wall, somewhat shocking her. That, coupled with is unnatural knowledge about the whereabouts of the jedi means he is certainly a person to keep out eyes on.

I don't think Qimir is the apprentice. I think they're both Acolytes. And working for the apprentice. Not the Master. I have this feeling we won't *see* the master. Always two there are, a master and an apprentice. I'm 80% sure that Qimir and Mae are sitting in Asajj Ventress's place rank-wise. Working for the Apprentice of the Dark Lord.

Palpatine/Sidious didn't seem to have any issue with Dooku/Tyranus having Ventress or Savage as "help", or Vader having the Inquisitors working for him. So the true Sith lords don't seem to mind having multiple underlings that are way weaker than actual Lords. I really hope the true Master/Apprentice in this show ARE Tenebrous (Bith) and Plagueis (Muun) as they were in Legends. And hopefully this show explains how Yoda knows about the Rule of Two by TPM.

The masked Sith could be the first apprentice to Darth Tenebrous, Mae and Qimir are simply acolytes with no chance in hell of becoming an actual Sith.
Seems like the masked Sith is set up to die, and it'd be cool if Plagueis kills him and takes his place.
Remember Darth Tenebrous had Darth Venamis as well as Plagueis, so it isn't out of the question for them to break the Rule of Two in canon.

Qimir is either the Apprentice or the master, but he's definately the guy in the helmet. I don't see Banite Rule of Two Sith allowing a member of a coven of witches into their ranks. They'd probably ignore them as heretics, and wouldn't bring them on board because of too many loose ends as far as secrecy. And also, witches are outcasts, and thats the opposite direction a Banite Sith would want to go in.
My major question is that this Sith seems to want Mae to kill these Jedi without a weapon. And at first I wondered if it was alluding to taking a Jedi's lightsaber in combat and bleeding the crystal. But she beat Indara and didn't take her lightsaber or even her comlink, she just left her for dead. So I find that a little peculiar, and a mystery why that requirement exists. It seems like one of those ridiculous requirements in an RPG game.
All that said I have enjoyed the first two episodes, seems to be decently paced. And has some of the best acting I've seen on a Disney+ Star Wars show in a while. Manny and JJ are the standout performances to me, they are just wonderful in this.

We're only 100 years (roughly) away from the Sith taking over the republic. Surely, at this point, the Sith will be in higher places than a shop owner on a distant planet? Yes they're still in hiding but they've had 900 years of hiding. Surely they are in much stronger positions of power? If Qimir is the apprentice, his shop keeper cover is fine, but the master must be someone who holds a more powerful public presence, Banker, Senator etc.

Why Meg do you keep insisting the helmeted character is the Sith. They are more than obviously is the acolyte We know the director is using legends & Disney canon, we know Darth Tenebarous is the Sith Lord, we know he is Bith. We’ve seen the clearly white fleshed human hand of the masked figure. White flesh cancels out the mother. Just because the helmeted character has a red lightsaber does not mean they are Sith, remember Asajj Ventress?
Plus this character has revealed themselves to the Jedi, that would completely contradict Maul to Sidious “AT LAST we can reveal ourselves to the Jedi, at last we shall have revenge” so that means every single Jedi to encounter the masked figure will definitely die or the masked character IS the acolyte.

One issue I have is Qimir was stated by a lookout as someone new at the shop. Qimir told Mae he got clothing off the body of the old store owner (as if he killed the previous store keeper). So, why did the Jedis and Osha not investigate Qimir while at the store? One would think that’s a serious red flag for not detaining Qimir.
As for who is the Sith? Look no further than the Jedi calling Sol and company back to Curisant, while Qimir and Mae are off to kill Jedi #3 (the Wookie Jedi). After all, she already has established she is in favor of cover-ups.

In the legends Darth Plagueis novel, Darth Tenebrous had at least one secret apprentice whom Darth Plagueis discovered and killed. I suppose that was fairly common. If Qimir is not masking his appearance and is in fact an apprentice, he could just be one who didn't survive to become part of the "rule of 2" lineage. Same with the nightsister, if she is intended to be the master or apprentice. If they're canonizing the Tenebrous-Plagueis-Sidious lineage, she might just be someone who didn't survive that long (unless they're compressing the legends ages of Darths Tenebrous and Plagueis and she's Tenebrous's master).

The one thing I'm really hoping the "secret Sith" isn't, is like that "Assassin" in the Ahsoka series (can't remember the name off the top of my head)... when the armour is pierced, green mist comes out and the armour drops to the ground. THAT is one thing I would find just too repetitive, given how recent the Ahsoka show came out.
The more I think about what some of the Jedi involved with the Twin's "fire" said, the more I'm thinking they went "outside of the Jedi Code" that we are familiar with to, in their mind, prevent a tragedy.... but which causes a tragedy. This ALSO would "rhyme" with Anakin's story if you think about it.

I think qimir is using Mae. He’s the one killing Jedi without a weapon. Because Mae is the instrument that does his bidding and is playing on her ambition to mastermind his way into that acolyte position.. The acolyte that kills Jedi without using a weapon has to be a master manipulator. He creates the circumstances that will lead to the death of other powerful people. I think Mae might even end up being killed and osha could end up turning to the dark. But I’m not sure. The great reveal could be that osha may have been the malevolent twin who may have probably even manipulated her way into the Jedi which could have sent Mae on a downward spiral. First clue; “I want justice!” “You want revenge!” Could be that osha might show more arrogance towards the end of the season or possibly towards the series finale. We’ll be left on a cliff hanger on episode 8. I have a bad feeling about this

The rule of two is explained by Yoda, a Jedi. How would he know? This is a case of an unreliable narrator. It's obviously a lie as Palpatine had trained both Dooku and Maul. Going back further, the Sith began as a race on a planet in a different galaxy. During the Old Republic thousands of Sith exist at one time and force sensitives can become Sith, as Vader does. It's insane how people took this one idea and ran with it and turned a blind eye to all the evidence to the contrary for so long, or otherwise nitpicked and explained it away.

During trailers, I was thinking Sol was going to be my new Jedi crush. I forgot this show was advertised as a Sith focused show. Nonetheless, I really don't care for how the Jedi are represented, leaning in on the not original, tired, Jedi-bashing trope. Everything is from a certain point of view. I will give it a view, but it is already leaving me with a negative feeling.

Could Qimir be Plagueis using a Sith mask? He's a heavy sleeper after all so it seems, which would be wild but highly unlikely. I also wonder if the Mother will resemble Darth Traya, in the way of seeking to destroy the force itself after her people are annihilated. If so, this could tie into the High Republic books and she could end up using the Nameless. If they do something like this id be very satisfied.

  • @Valandhir
    @Valandhir 26 дней назад +1

I hope that whoever the Sith is, it is not one of the Witches, that would be so cliche and done a thousand times over. Quimir is much more intesting. Did you notice that his name, when spoken, sounds a bit like chimer as in chimerea? WHich again hints at a mask, or a different form. Also, if Mae was trying to replace Quimir, she would be stupid to trust him. He also is not an apotecary, he says he took the clothes from the former owner of the shop, which means he killed the real owner, and took his place, definitely a Sith action.

@freddyb6105, I've not read a lot of the High Republic, just the first book but policing seems antithetical to what the Jedi Order stands for. They are supposed to be keepers of the peace, diplomats, not cops. Investigating the death of a Jedi is perfectly plausible for this story, but telling a society where they can dump their trash (hypothetical) is something they would defer to a local governing body. If they took part in killing Osha/Mae's people and hid that from the Order, I feel like that would break canon.

Oooo I like your theory. I think the Jedi, particularly Sol, wanted to avoid Mae and Osha coming into contact. He even jumped at the chance to lead the investigation. “Please let me take accountability” yo he really just wants to make sure the Jedi council doesn’t find out the truth 😱 *possibly*
Mae might very well be the only other person that may know what the Jedi are lying about.
A big thing about the Jedi in this show is that they are very manipulative. With people. With the truth. I fully expect OSHA to lose faith in the Jedi and join her sister. At least that’s what I hope for. Having the series end with both protagonists being sith would be different and cool.

I think one of this shows biggest flaws is it's hour long runtime, it feels like the episodes were supposed to be maybe 30 minutes long but have been needlessly stretched out in order to accommodate a requirement that they be an hour long, regardless of if the script actually works well for that length, and so as a result it feels like hardly all that much happens in these episodes
We've had 2 hours worth of content, that's the average length of an movie, and yet we still cant bring ourselves to really care about the fate of any of these characters, I think the hour runtime is making the plot of each episode feel mostly uneventful

if they allow the legends plagueis story to assimilate into canon(which hopefully they will most of it because it is such a great novel), plagueis at 16 would have been well immersed with knowledge of the dark side. he was aware of his force sensitivity at a very early age and his mother confirms this to him. he used the force at 5 years old to influence another muun child to kill them self, so at 16 he would have probably already become very powerful. darth tenebrous taught him that every living thing in the galaxy exists only so that they can enforce their will and bring about ascendency of the dark side and the revenge of the sith. i'm sure there are many acolytes of both sith lords. the master hasn't made his/her identity visible in the force yet. no chance. so believe whatever you want, it's wrong. he/she is the phantom menace. also, everyone within the jedi order that has any knowledge of anything sith are all going to die with that knowledge... or that information gets deleted from the jedi archives. it's happened before.

I find it funny how Disney markets The Acolyte. It says from the studio that brought you The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka. No mention of The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan? Not Disney’s proudest SW projects. Both were being conceived when TFA came out. I read the ideas for an Obi-Wan and Boba series nearly a decade ago and years before Disney+ came out. Ended up as the worst ones.
The complaints about these characters in The Acolyte are very valid as I feel the same way. But you can make the same case for Qui-Gon and most Jedis. Was Qui-Gon really that interesting? Not really. But it’s been 25 years and nostalgia glosses over the Prequels’ flaws. Prequels are now altered by revisionist history from kids who grew on them.
Funny how Star Wars Theory whines about The Acolyte while Amandla said her favorite SW movie is Revenge of the Sith. She’s a Zoomer who grew up on the Prequels that Nia grew up on and praises to us. The irony. They share the same level of love for the Prequels. I’m closer to the same age as Hayden and Natalie but I see the Prequels much worse than they did.
The Original Trilogy only had 3 Jedis: Old Ben/Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Luke. It had the least amount of Jedis but it was the most consistently good among all the trilogies. What made the OT work especially the first one from ‘77 was the banter between Han arguing with Luke and Leia. Han Solo made the OT more fun and funnier than it would’ve been.
The Jedis really aren’t all that. A lot of them are devoid of great personalities. They’re just outer space samurai monks with telekinesis wagging their laser swords/penises at each other that Star Wars Theory enjoys watching. “From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!” Great acting, Hayden.
The whole diversity thing doesn’t bother me. Do Star Wars fans want to continue with mostly white male protagonists? Everyone needs to look like Ford, Hamill, Christiansen, and McGregor? Or in this era, Henry Cavill needs to have every lead role. Then surround them with an emperor, admiral, and imperial officers with British accents that Threepio has.
I’m a registered Republican who will vote for Trump again in Nov, so I should be anti-WOKE. But I think too many RUclipsrs do too much hating that it ruins the joy of anticipating for it. It’s all about algorithms and using hate and mockery to draw subscribers. It’s fun when people gang up on something. That beehive mentality. I’m fed up from both the WOKE and anti-WOKE groups ruining my excitement for content I want to watch.
My family has lived in SoCal for 40 years. White people are minorities in this region. Hispanic dominates. There’s more people like Diego Luna than there are who looks like Henry Cavill. There’s more people who look like Ke Huy Quan in LA than someone who looks like a young Harrison Ford.
Hollywood is populated by mostly non-whites. We’re no longer living in the 1950s anymore. Andor starred a Mexican while many of the best characters were females. Nothing WOKE about it, right? But if the roles are given to Blacks, females, lesbians, that’s all WOKE, huh? Both sides are lame and want to politicize everything out there.
I’m not saying The Acolyte is great or anything because it’s not. It’s neither hot garbage that some RUclipsrs are saying but it’s not exactly amazing. I think even if it was amazing, it would still draw low viewership like Loki and Andor did. Star Wars movies died in Dec 2017. The last real SW movie to me was Rogue One. Perhaps Rogue One is the only SW movie from Disney that I would consider canon.
    The Good Disney Star Wars
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
    The Mandalorian (2019)
    Andor (2022)
The Average To Bad Disney Star Wars
    The Force Awakens (2015)
    The Last Jedi (2017)
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
    The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
    Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
    Ahsoka (2023)
3/10 = 30% good Disney live action SW
The jury is still out on The Acolyte. For me, it’s probably slightly below Ahsoka which puts it at very mediocre.
Most of us still have 75% more to see while I’m aware some RUclipsrs have seen the first four episodes of The Acolyte. Why judge it this quickly after only two episodes? Be like watching the first 38 minutes of The Dark Knight and calling it mid because you failed to see the other 1 hour and 54 minutes.
Look at every season from Game of Thrones. Most of their best episodes came from their penultimate episode (Ep 9) with the exceptions of Season 7 and 8 which had only 7 and 6 episodes. Most of their best episodes didn’t come from the first half of the season.
We still have two reveals that haven’t been answered because why try to answer them this early? It still needs to be a mystery crime thriller. Who is the Sith? Everyone has been saying it’s Qimir. Perhaps that’s who writers want us to think. And what really happened to Mae and Osha’s family? What’s the real story in Brendok? What were those four Jedis hiding or what did they cause that made Mae want to go Kill Bill on them?
Star Wars can never win. If it tries to do the same thing (TFA), it sucks. If it tries to do something different that isn’t part of the Skywalker era and is set 100 years before TPM, it sucks. If it uses Blacks, females, Asians with broken English, and lesbians, it sucks. It wouldn’t have mattered if The Acolyte was good. It would still receive scrutiny and low viewership.
If The Acolyte truly does suck, we still have The Boys next Thursday and House of the Dragon two Sundays from now. We get to see more Homelander, Soldier Boy, Butcher, and Daemon be complete jackasses and that’s a good thing!

I've heard Mae is the one that started the fire and it grew out of control. The Jedi just happened to be there at the time. The masked Sith lying to Mae to turn her into an Acolyte is on brand for a Sith.
One character using a, perceived incorrect, pronoun being the only thing that works against the mother theory is wafer thin. Pronouns are fluid in modern Hollywood, the traditional meaning of words has been obscured and I wouldn't be surprised if there's some overall message about not assuming someone's gender, when the Sith is revealed to be a woman, or a 'they.' Non-binary?
