Minutes watched data for each episode has demonstrated a trend. Episodes 1 and 2 got 1/4 of the attention that Asohka got, which was less than Obi-Wan, Boba-Fet, and Andor. Episode 3, because of the leaks made known by content creators, had an uptick. Since then, it's been a decline. Episode 5 went back to the levels of the first 2. There was talk that the "poor showing" of Andor and Asohka (which received 3/4 more views that this garbage) made showrunners a bit hesitant to continue their series. In a normal situation, this show wouldn't have made it past episode one.

It was so predictable at the end of the last episode that OSHA would end up somehow joining him, despite the fact that it makes no real sense. That’s just how stupid this show is. Whilst watching this series I go between angry at the stupidity of it, and completely apathetic about the whole thing. Watching this actress act EXACTLY the same for both characters is so jarring. Terrible actress.
You can't feel the emotion if the actors can't act. The main character got the job because a) she's essentially a model, b) she's a well-connected nepo baby, and c) her politics match those of Disney and the creator. This show could be okay if it starred a charismatic lead actress, but she is just a vessel of the plot and DEI tick boxing and seems to be doing the whole stoic anti-acting. It works if it's charismatic Clint Eastwood as a lone wolf cowboy in the Wild West. It doesn't work for this actress or this character.
I'm an identical twin and the "twin swap" stories are all shlock to me. Any twin or any one who knows them personally is aware that you don't need the force to immediately tell the two apart. Stressing the immediate part. As..in...a...MILLISECOND. I must have heard as a kid "Do you swap to fool the teachers?" a million times.

It's interesting you say this because my experience was exactly the opposite as an observer. There was a set of identical twins in my high school who swapped places for a day and no one knew. But looking back, they both were extremely quiet and never talked. Super duper quiet. So them swapping and no one knowing is probably due to no one having any interactions with them anyways.

Filling out an episode with mostly dialogue vs pure plot points can work if the dialogue isn't pointless and doesn't suck. If Darth Manny had spent the episode conversing with Oshit convincing her about turning to the Sith, that could have worked. Instead they opted for motion sick green beans and other pointless crap. That is when filling an episode with dialogue doesn't work.

Didn't find it overtly sexual really. More concerned about how they portray the Jedi and the fallen during that age. Did the showrunner, director and lead writer not consult anyone familiar with lore before the actual writing and production of this crap - which bits of lore to include, which not to, and which parts to dial up or dial down to actually tell a bloody story that sticks in the universe? Did they think those nuances (especially the twins' role reversals and portrayal of "Sith") were clever or even connected, because none of them were? Trying to be clever whilst ignoring the VERY LOYAL audience this series was built for - especially during a lore-building juncture. The Ejacolyte is a self indulgent Star Wars fan fiction show without any understanding of the mythos. It seems hellbent on acting out a weird DEI agenda and its writer(s) clearly have zero talent for storytelling. It’s insufferably boring, flat, unimaginative and a muddled mess. I stopped watching it halfway through the second episode and have never returned to it. This is an all time low for the franchise. 🤦🏼♂️
The worst part??? The story of two siblings ending in opposite sides of the force and having to confront each other as Jedi and Sith is a premise that could actually work if done properly. I have actually started imagining the story in my head (I’m still new to Star Wars so forgive me for any incoherence): Instead of the story taking place in the height of the Republic, which I imagine The Acolyte is taking place around that time, have it shortly after the fall of the Empire, and instead of twins, older and younger sister (yes both are force sensitive). The sisters end up orphaned after their parents died in a speeder or pod accident. The older one grows resentful and angry at her parents “abandoning her” while the younger one remembers kindness and love when she thinks about them. At some point in their childhood they get separated: the oldest ends up at the hands of either surviving Sith or remaining imperial loyalists, and the other is taken in by Luke Skywalker and becomes his apprentice. They are late teenagers when they meet again (like Mae and Osha) and their reunion makes the youngest slowly question if the sister that she remembered is truly gone or if she even existed in the first place. Since the oldest’s life was always filled with hate, anger, and extreme selfishness, there would be little chance for redemption for her, since even if she knew love, it was just to herself (kinda like mother gothel’s narcissism). There’s still a lot of tweaking and much more research into this world but I hope this was ok-ish for you to read
Great Video. I think 30 minutes is no excuse. ATLA original Anime was 30 minutes each episode, yet we all felt the strength, emotion and tension of the story. That just one example of many.
If they have to make this crap they could at least halve the budget and give the other 90 mil to a team that can create good SW content for the main fan base

I'm an identical twin and the "twin swap" stories are all shlock to me. Any twin or any one who knows them personally is aware that you don't need the force to immediately tell the two apart. Stressing the immediate part. As..in...a...MILLISECOND. I must have heard as a kid "Do you swap to fool the teachers?" a million times.
Some of my best friends since 4th grade are identical twins. I’ve been able to tell them apart without hesitation for years 😂 all of us have.

It's interesting you say this because my experience was exactly the opposite as an observer. There was a set of identical twins in my high school who swapped places for a day and no one knew. But looking back, they both were extremely quiet and never talked. Super duper quiet. So them swapping and no one knowing is probably due to no one having any interactions with them anyways.
Not defending this show as it’s terrible but these are fictional characters & not human. They were apparently born from witchcraft so guess it’s conceivable they could be genetically identical in every way except personality.

Every episode ends with "Ok, now we're gonna tell you the Jedi killed the witches, or the witches went all Jonestown and committed mass suicide, or Qimir was there, or whatever" but they never get to it. Quit with the constant teasing! It worse than when I dated a Catholic girl and junior high. Get to the story!!

Filling out an episode with mostly dialogue vs pure plot points can work if the dialogue isn't pointless and doesn't suck. If Darth Manny had spent the episode conversing with Oshit convincing her about turning to the Sith, that could have worked. Instead they opted for motion sick green beans and other pointless crap. That is when filling an episode with dialogue doesn't work.

Realistically, those Jedi bodies are gonna be bloated to hell and back from sitting out there, yet the faces of the bodies we see for emotional affect are....nearly flawless. No dirt, or scrapes, or anything of note to show that a battle took place.

Living beings are FULL of different bacteria, and these human-like aliens are no exception. You can't sit there and tell me that they won't even begin to decay after all bodily function has ceased. No creature that size is immune to the effects of decay. If she were a Water Bear, then I'd agree.
While we're on the subject of biology, I LOVE plants, so for there to be Earthen-born species of plants on that planet is a flag for similar microorganisms. Whole thing is a balance, so whatever lives in that soil is also gonna start to break down whatever falls on the forest floor.

Didn't find it overtly sexual really. More concerned about how they portray the Jedi and the fallen during that age. Did the showrunner, director and lead writer not consult anyone familiar with lore before the actual writing and production of this crap - which bits of lore to include, which not to, and which parts to dial up or dial down to actually tell a bloody story that sticks in the universe? Did they think those nuances (especially the twins' role reversals and portrayal of "Sith") were clever or even connected, because none of them were?
Trying to be clever whilst ignoring the VERY LOYAL audience this series was built for - especially during a lore-building juncture. They've lost us, and certainly not gained any new fans with that shite. That was the bit that was disgusting to me.
What I thought was weird was having a nude bath scene, and having it be from Disney. I mean they didn't show anything but hinted at it. I wouldn't let my son or daughter even be exposed to anything like that, even if it was covered. They need to be focused on playing and being happy as kids do.

The show is profoundly stupid but Qimir bathing I don't take issue with as he's supposedly seducing Osha to the Dark Side. This is consistent with his telling her that he can have a deeper relationship with her than the Jedi can.

The Ejacolyte is a self indulgent Star Wars fan fiction show without any understanding of the mythos. It seems hellbent on acting out a weird DEI agenda and its writer(s) clearly have zero talent for storytelling. It’s insufferably boring, flat, unimaginative and a muddled mess. I stopped watching it halfway through the second episode and have never returned to it. This is an all time low for the franchise. 🤦🏼♂️
The worst part??? The story of two siblings ending in opposite sides of the force and having to confront each other as Jedi and Sith is a premise that could actually work if done properly. I have actually started imagining the story in my head (I’m still new to Star Wars so forgive me for any incoherence):
Instead of the story taking place in the height of the Republic, which I imagine The Acolyte is taking place around that time, have it shortly after the fall of the Empire, and instead of twins, older and younger sister (yes both are force sensitive).
The sisters end up orphaned after their parents died in a speeder or pod accident. The older one grows resentful and angry at her parents “abandoning her” while the younger one remembers kindness and love when she thinks about them. At some point in their childhood they get separated: the oldest ends up at the hands of either surviving Sith or remaining imperial loyalists, and the other is taken in by Luke Skywalker and becomes his apprentice. They are late teenagers when they meet again (like Mae and Osha) and their reunion makes the youngest slowly question if the sister that she remembered is truly gone or if she even existed in the first place. Since the oldest’s life was always filled with hate, anger, and extreme selfishness, there would be little chance for redemption for her, since even if she knew love, it was just to herself (kinda like mother gothel’s narcissism).
There’s still a lot of tweaking and much more research into this world but I hope this was ok-ish for you to read

Great Video. I think 30 minutes is no excuse. ATLA original Anime was 30 minutes each episode, yet we all felt the strength, emotion and tension of the story. That just one example of many.
