I agree. And I think they did a good job of showing the subtleties of how that happens. That's what I don't like about the Acolyte. They're way more corrupt than the Jedi depicted in Phantom menace. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
If they bring in Tales of the Jedi Season 2, I would like to see both Baylan and Eno Cordova talking about the shared future about the Order’s downfall

Looking back on Ahsoka, it's cool to see how much that show introduced interesting characters and expanded on the lore. I appreciate the show even more now. I cannot wait for Season 2.
I like the words of Dooku about Yoda and others who saw him as complacent and not in touch with the force as he should be. I feel like he should not have been grand master and should have retired. I love Baylan Skoll. Ray did a masterful job with this role. I like the unifying force people like Baylan, Qui-Jon
Baylen and Shin are two of the best new characters in Star Wars in years..IMO. Can’t wait to get more of their backstories and see what the future holds.
So agree. The hate/rage discourse is exhausting. If disappointed fans are upset, sure, they can express how they feel, but why air it out in such a rageful way? To be angry all the time is not good for your heart and mind, and body, in general. It’s like your adrenal glands are on overdrive and your health will suffer in the long run.
Remember that Baylan and Anakin are relatively the same age. This means that Baylan was probably a padawan when Sifo Dyas went missing. Although, the coolest twist would be that Baylan was Sifo's padawan... (I'm calling it!) I've been saying since the end of Ahsoka S1 that Baylan will need to become the new Son to help the new Daughter (Ahsoka) to re-imprison Abeloth, who's prison began to fail during the Clone Wars when the Ones died.
One of the things I remember really liking about the RotS novelization is the internal dialogues of Dooku and Yoda; the latter's being that he'd pretty much seen his middle-school bully and became a kid again. I think Stover frames it more as fighting the enemy of the past but I think the fear reaction is in there. I'm curious to see if canonizing Abeloth will turn me into a ridiculous internet rage monster.
I really like this theory of Baylan searching for a different understanding of the force. It's been a while since I read Dawn of the Jedi, but one thing that stuck with me was the main character drawing on the dark side of the force for strength in battle and afterwards having to focus and bring herself back into balance. There was some talk about a movie focused on the first Jedi. If you're theory is correct and Baylan is searching for what may be an ancient knowledge, I wonder if they're leading into that story of the original Je'daii?
Hi Meg, awesome news update, very interesting video Meg on Baylan and the jedi, I really enjoyed the different concepts you made and I think baylan decided he wanted something different and so he left the jedi and went on his own which I agree and I think the jedi I like the tree except they will not bend and baylan and dooku do, that is why they both left, thank you for an awesome video SWM
I'm intrigued by this idea that Baylan wants to control destiny. My theory has always been that he wants to gain access to the World Between Worlds somehow in order to change the past - instead of stopping the cycle from continuing, he can stop it before it even starts. What he would need to change I have no idea, but I expect it'd have unintentional disastrous consequences that would ultimately just make everything worse. We know Ahsoka warned Ezra not to do that in Rebels when he wanted to save Kanan, and iirc even she chose to return back to the moment he pulled her out of instead of jumping forward in time with him, thereby accepting whatever her destiny was meant to be (my guess is she was always meant to survive the Vader fight anyway which is why afaik Ezra didn't actually change the timeline). It'd be interesting to see a character respond differently to the same set of circumstances. If Baylan has the power to potentially alter events - and therefore alter the destiny of the Jedi - at his fingertips, will he make the same choice as Ezra and Ahsoka and leave things as they are or will he actually try to meddle? If it's the latter that basically makes him a foil to Ahsoka, who merely learned from the past (i.e. the Clone Wars flashbacks) instead of trying to change it
I'm sorry, but relying on Disney to interpret the moral significance of the Force is like relying on Mara to interpret the Four Noble Truths (in Buddhism), or Lucifer to interpret the Sermon on the Mount (in Christianity)!
I think Baylan is going to put The Force ‘to sleep’ in some sort of fashion, which will drastically reduce the amount of force sensitivity and affinity in the Star Wars galaxy. Which could also explain why the Force is ‘awakening’ in Episode VII.
Didn't Sifo-Dyas indirectly bring about the rise of the Sith by attempting to prevent his vision and secretly commissioning the clone army? This would be an argument in favour of both the Jedi's cautionary approach of discussion and debate and Yoda's understanding of visions, as outlined in this video.
Indeed. Also, in many ways, Baylan does not understand that what happened with the Jedi and the Sith was supposed to happen. It was all the will of the Force, including the corruption of the Jedi before their fall. Even If Yoda knew everything, I do not think he would have changed anything, because everything that happened centred on Anakin and whatever he did.
Now, this is very interesting SW content. It's not the lazy, cheap storytelling we've gotten in The Acolyte. Such a breath of fresh air from all the drama, Meg the ever Bendu 😅
Baylan is younger than Anakin. He claims to have been barely older than Shin Hottie at the time of Order 66. He never would have met Qui Gon or Sifo Dyas, and would have most likely only known Dooku from the opposite side of the battlefield.
Hi Meg. We do not know who the teacher was of Baylon, I think that is an important fact. It could be an outsider like Qiu Jon Jin, in the Jedi Order. It would explain his mindset and behavior. And secondly the Acolyte: the mask of the Sith remembers me of the mouth of Abeloth, in the way it is written in the books. Could the secret be Aboloth, in the end of episode 4 the Sith is very powerful. And it would connect The Acolyte with Ashoka. Probably a very wild idea.😅
They need to include all this in Ahsoka and not force the viewer to buy another product or go to another show. Also, I still have my fingers crossed that they'll replace Stevenson with his fellow Rome alum James Purefoy.
This story about Sifo-Dyas requisitioning an army to respond to a future Sith threat is one of the flaws I see on the Star Wars storyline. The Jedi were not supposed to be a military force. Becoming so was exactly one of the critical factors that helped Palpatine bring the Jedi down. Lucas' version of the Jedi was a pure order all in The Light but we find the disconnects all over his writing. I applaud Disney's new productions showing the Star Wars universe in a more complex manner and exploring stories that are not limited to Jedi magic and Starwalkers (i.e.: Andor).
And some of these points have been part of what's being explored in The Acolyte. Yes, I see it, because I'm not blinded by my own arrogance like the "toxic" portion of the fandom who feed on their own, and each other's anger. I see the weak points, and places it could be improved, but that's with everything. Perfection is a road, not a destination (thanks for that lesson, Chiun!).... Even in the High Republic era, the Jedi were becoming what would lead to their downfall. Dooku was absolutely correct in what he said about Yoda. And no doubt it dated back a long time. This was even hinted at during the "Lucas years" in several places, so stop saying that this is a "Disney creation" of the concept. They are simply expanding on what was already there. I'll say for the millionth time; I loved the Prequels when they came out. For every single detail others bitched about, I saw a legitimate reason it was there. I defended that position and got railed for it for at least 15 years, and I saw the Original movie in theaters in 1977.
@@wadewilson524Isn't that splitting hairs? Criticizing someone about something that you yourself don't even care about is utterly pointless. It's beneath someone like Dooku's interest.
@@TonyMidyett He probably didn’t care about the subject. What he did care about the Jedi’s hypocrisy and, as a bright fellow, would have certainly used it to make that point.
Maybe Baylan wants to enter the World Between Worlds to change history. Maybe Star Wars is going to embrace the multiverse although that may not be a good idea.
We need to talk about The Acolyte. There is a lot to unpack from Episode 4 as I replayed certain scenes over and over and let’s make predictions for Episode 5. Qimir or not Qimir, that is the question… Qimir: How do you kill a Jedi without a weapon? It has to be some sort of test, right? You engage unarmed, but you can use their saber if you disarm them? Or is that cheating? I’m just curious how you’re gonna do it this time. You’ve failed so much. Mae: I didn’t fail. I killed Indara and I killed Torbin. Qimir: But you killed them “your way.” You have to kill the Wookiee without a weapon. Your Master wants you to.. Mae: What kind of deal did you make with him? Qimir: I didn’t. Uh, *we* didn’t exactly. I… I just owe him. You know how he is, he collects people. Mae: I’ve never seen his face. Have you? Qimir: You know I haven’t. Oh, look, there it is. The perimeter. I thought when Qimir said *”we* didn’t exactly” after he said *“I* didn’t” to be strange. Is he including Mae as part of the deal? Why say we when Mae was asking him directly? And then listen carefully to how he said “he collects people.” He said *people* in a serious tone the same way he told Mae that “he’d kill you.” All the tea leaves points to Qimir as Smilo Ren. He changes the topic quickly after Mae asked him if he’s seen the Master’s face. And then his obvious rush to get to Kelnacca (or Kelly as some Redditors call him). Why is Qimir in such a hurry? Because he knows the Jedis are coming? He needs Mae to perform his final task? Is Qimir the acolyte, the apprentice, or the master? Because that Force push was pretty strong. He seems stronger than being only an acolyte or an apprentice. And he floated down like he’s Batman ‘89. Remember the last time we saw Qimir, he was hanging upside-down from a tree. He had the higher ground the last time we see him. But what if Qimir is NOT Smilo Ren even though a majority of us already believe it is him? He did disarm Mae rather easily in Ep 2 and already said the first sentence of the Sith code. But why reveal himself? There is a scene right before Qimir got caught in Mae’s trap that it looked like he really was going to fetch her for more water. Some people are saying he knew it was a trap but I don’t know? It looked genuine right before he got caught upside-down. Mae screamed HELP! and then you see Qimir running towards her with concern in his face. And how he told Mae that he cares. Remember last year when everyone tried to predict who Marrok was in Ahsoka only to find out he’s smoke underneath it? Say we take his word and Qimir has never seen the Master’s face. Then he’s only assuming the Master is a he. What if it’s a she? I’m also reading from some Redditors believing it’s Vernestra. Why does she keep hiding these missions from the Jedi Council? And some think she sent Sol and that crew on a secret mission so they can kill all the loose ends. Of course if it’s Vernestra, it may piss off some SW fans who already know her from the recent High Republic comics from 3 years ago which Lesyle is using it as some of her source material + EU. Not to sound mean but Vernestra has a face I want to slap. Rebecca Henderson is Lesyle Headland’s real life wife, but Vernestra has a face I want to slap. Maybe because she’s green and bald. Doesn’t have a trustworthy face. I saw one Redditor thinks it’s Indara and that she didn’t really die after that opening scene. That she’s the Master. BTW, Manny Jacinto is listed at 5’11 while both Carrie-Anne Moss and Rebecca Henderson are both listed at 5’9. If Trinity is the Sith Lord all along after we all thought she died in the first episode would be quite hilarious. 😂 She could survive that small knife wound if Reva and Sabine can survive lightsaber cuts through their bodies. Let’s say Qimir is Smilo Ren and is the acolyte. He’s using Mae to perform his last test of killing a Jedi without a weapon. That’s why he was in such a rush for Mae to get to Kelnacca. But he killed Kelnacca with a lightsaber. He’s not passing his final test. Mae didn’t technically kill Torbin. He chose death. The poison could be considered a weapon or not but he chose to die. Mae didn’t kill him. I don’t understand Qimir revealing himself against 8 Jedis when he could’ve just left the scene if he knew Mae had a change of heart and was going to rat on him. I do agree with Star Wars Meg that The Acolyte should’ve dropped all episodes entirely ala Stranger Things. I grew up watching LOST (2004-2010) years before The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, so I can understand the frustrations waiting a week to find out what happens next. A new generation may not have the patience for a mystery show dropping one episode per week. It’s actually quite unfair to judge The Acolyte because we are essentially looking at a puzzle 🧩 with missing pieces to the big picture. It would be like judging only the first half of Knives Out, Glass Onion, Death on the Nile, Clue, or any Scooby-Doo episode before we get to the final reveal. The Acolyte is basically a *whodunit* series. I’m not saying it’s great but it is quite unfair to judge it knowing it’s hiding a lot of things from the viewers. Alex from The Angry Joe Show said the one who killed Kelnacca was Bazil. I know he said it in jest but it was quite peculiar to see Bazil right before Mae found Kelnacca dead. He was not seen for most of that episode. Then we finally see him, Mae finds out Kelnacca is dead. We definitely got robbed not seeing Kelnacca not getting into a fight. What a jip! We get excited seeing a Wookiee Jedi after Ep 2 and we still didn’t get to see him fight for his life using a lightsaber. 🤦🏻 So wrong. The show does look quite cheap. Now where they filmed Khofar was somewhere in Madeira, Portugal. It was quite beautiful but then there are certain scenes to this show that looks bland and cheap. I don’t feel the immersion from it. Coruscant looks bland to me. It looks like a ghost town and it’s only 100 years before TPM. Where’s all the flying ships and tall skyscrapers surrounding the Jedi Temple? A hundred years difference is not going to make Coruscant look that bland and dead. The Acolyte costs $180M when it looks worse than Ahsoka at $105M. Heck, worse than Godzilla Minus One at only $15M. House of the Dragon revealed it’s first episode from Season 2 and that episode at around $20M looks 10x better than The Acolyte. Ahsoka used tons of Volume but I consider it the 2nd best looking among the SW Disney+ series behind Andor ($250M). Some shots in The Acolyte looks like something out of a Star Trek TV series. I don’t agree with Meg’s opinion from yesterday that the Star Wars Prequels looks far better than the Disney+ series. Only Revenge of the Sith still looks decent today but The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones have showed their age after 22-25 years. Check TPM’s scene between the Gungans vs. Droid Army. Very little green texture. Then AOTC’s Battle of Geonosis looks even more awful to me now than it did in 2002. The SW Disney+ looks better to me because it is mixing real location, Volume, and green/blue screens while the Prequels relied on most of the latter although I did visit The Plaza de España in Seville, Spain. It’s the scene when Anakin is holding Padmé’s luggages in AOTC. That was one of the biggest complaints of the Prequels. Most of the backgrounds didn’t feel real. It was like the actors were put in an animated movie or some video game from the PlayStation 3 era. Episode 5 Predictions? The obvious one is 5 of those 8 Jedis not named Sol, Yord, and Jecki will be redshirted and should be killed right away from Smilo Ren. But what happens then? Call me Chato predicts Sol will be captured and it becomes a rescue mission for Mae and Osha. Or what if Osha is captured and it’s a rescue mission for Sol, Mae, Yord, and Jecki? Or if it’s called Night, Sol (meaning Sun ☀️) dies in it? Smilo didn’t kill Mae but Smilo seemed to toss her away pretty easily with the Force. I think Smilo is going to use her to turn. Maybe that’s why the reveal. Since Episode 4 left us with a major cliffhanger, I think Episode 5’s viewership is going to spike up. As bad as The Acolyte has been, people are still curious who is Smilo Ren and who really killed the lesbian witch coven that we didn’t see in the previous flashback episode since we only saw it from Osha’s perspective. What are the Jedi hiding? Why did Torbin feel so guilty? My money is on Vernestra but I think it’s 90% Qimir. But I want to bet on a longshot. Everyone was dead wrong on Marrok last year. Vernestra is still a fairly new character from the comics/novels. If it’s her, I don’t think fans would get too mad. Now the person who killed the witch coven may not be Smilo Ren. That could be a different character. Manny Jacinto is 38-years-old. But his character might be younger in this series and might be too young to commit killing the witch coven. Smilo Ren? 90% Qimir 2% Vernestra 2% Koril 2% Aniseya 2% Indara 1% Sol’s evil twin 1% Bazil Here’s Vernestra’s convo with Sol. A way of trying to throw us off? Vernestra: I fear Mae is only a small part of her Master’s larger plan. A plan that is difficult to see. Some sort of shift. Something to tip the scales. Vernestra might be the Master and Qimir is Smilo Ren as either the Acolyte or her Apprentice. Episode 5 titled, Night, might be the banger episode we’ve been waiting for! Or it could still stink it up as usual…. What if the last four episodes kicks some serious ass? That’s quite a shift from hating it to loving it. From worst to best in a hurry. It’s like the Prequels, GameCube, and Kobe Bryant during their prime. Hated back in the day but beloved now from a generation who grew up on them.
George Lucas fashioned the Force & the Jedi Way after Buddhism. Buddhism refers to itself as "The Middle Way." Of course you need to understand the religion to understand the multifaceted meaning of that statement. And that requires more study than most non-Buddhist's are likely to invest. Personally I think George's description of the light side as being unselfish & the dark side as selfish, was a fine summary of Buddhism. But not one that illustrates why it is the Middle Way. Ok, to put it as simply as I can: the Middle Way refers to: (1) Halfway between asceticism & hedonism: Moderation (2) Halfway between objective & subjective: Seeing reality directly, just as it is (3) Unifying mind & body. (4) Seeing the unity of all things. And Huayan Buddhism uses the expression: "The one and the many" (5) The cessation of suffering by dispensing with desire, to reach nirvana.
@@wadewilson524 Most Jedi only aspire to be Bodhisattvas. That was the 3rd Noble truth, explaining how to reach nirvana. The best description of the actual experience of enlightenment I've found is the "Sūtra of Mahā-Prajñā-Pāramitā Pronounced by Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva"
Dooku saying what he said about Yoda is hilarious considering who he went to work for, embracing the dark side, and not doing anything about the slavery that started taking place in the Separatist systems. 🙄🙄🙄
I know Lucas had a pagen vision of the force. Joseph Campbell had it adjusted to an eastern vision of its nature. George Lucas retconned it slowly back to his pagen vision. Sinse Star Wars became what it was under Joseph Campbell vision of the force. I only accept the original vision. I do not believe Star Wars works with the vision George Lucas originally had of the forse.
What these force users don't understand is THE DARK SIDE IS EVIL, Yoda beat the dark side, therefore he is not evil. You can be blind or complacent without being evil.
Yeah g'day, Baylan was the balance to Qui Gon but had a better understanding of the Whills and how each action needed an equation opposing action. Baylan does look good standing on the outstretched arms of the Kings of Numenor. It's a goodnight from you and it's a goodnight from the broken, cantankerous, belligerent, obnoxious, obstinate, obstreperous, cynical Old Fart
Complacency, this is exactly where Ki-Adi-Mundi's perspective comes from in Phantom Menace. When we consider Darth Tenebrous's career which must have spawned decades before Palpatine, we see that there were dark side users if not Sith in hiding during the Acolytes time period at the height of Jedi Power, before becoming pawns of the Senate as complacency and over confidence set in and Count Dooku's words as read by Meg became prophecy.
Amandla Steinberg has a "song" on Instagram attacking critics for being racist. This was predictable, and another reason many are frustrated with Star Wars.
Best Characters From The Acolyte 1. Smilo Ren/Qimir 2. Sol 3. Aniseya 4. Mae (older) 5. Osha 6. Yord Charlie from Emergency Awesome is correct. Yord is comparable to Syril in Andor. Uptight and always plays by the book. I don’t care for Osha and Jecki’s lesbian romance. So to differentiate Mae from Osha, Amandla wears similar wigs but Osha’s hair is shorter. Mae’s hair is shorter at the front but longer in the back. Almost every male SW fan wants a character who looks like a badass and wants him to use a lightsaber like a badass which includes a man child like Star Wars Theory who wants Revenge of the Sith be redone 100 more times. Male SW fans were jizzing who Marrok would turn out to be. That’s all male SW fans wants. They want lightsaber duels and the character looks cool doing it. Usually a white person like Hayden and they want him to twirl a lightsaber like *Carly* *King* and Ray Park. Carly King is loving The Acolyte. Let’s not hate her for enjoying it. *Sister* *Sage:* Ryan is the first natural-born superhero. And his brand needs to reflect that. He’s not one of Vought’s lab rat freaks. He was chosen - by fate, God, whatever- to be the one who saves the world. *Homelander:* Yes. But let’s not forget why he is special. Shall we? He’s my son. Chosen by God, sure, but, uh… made by me. *Sister* *Sage:* The chosen one narrative only works if he stands alone. Harry Potter. Neo. Luke Skywalker. Hollywood’s trained people to fall in love with *white* *boy* *lone* *saviors.* So, America will want to fall in love with Ryan. Technically, Luke isn’t the Chosen One but he was the reason why Anakin killed Palpatine (or supposedly if you ignore Episode IX). All this bring balance to the Force is a bunch of mumbo jumbo. That explanation of the Force needing light and dark is so vague and esoteric. To me, Luke was the hero of the Original Trilogy because he could’ve killed his dad but he chose not to. *Love* from a father and son was the real hero of the OG Trilogy. Whining about lore breaking…. They showed fire in space! Mae & Osha undermines Anakin’s birth! Ki-Adi-Mundi broke TPM’s canon! Google search Star Wars plot holes from Yoda training Obi-Wan and not Qui-Gon to Leia seeing her dead mother to having complete amnesia for C-3PO and R2-D2. Why did Obi-Wan take 3 years to send Luke to Yoda? How come the Millennium Falcon wasn’t properly scanned? Vader can’t sense that’s his daughter he’s torturing and had captured twice? Why did Yoda give up so easily in ROTS when he already had the higher ground on Sidious? Why did it take a year to rescue Han from Jabba’s palace? It’s George Lucas making up stuff along the way. George has broke his own canon by adding characters that weren’t there. Ahsoka was the biggest unnecessary addition and Dave Filoni sure loves his baby girl, his waifu. Anakin wasn’t ranked Master yet and he still had his own padawan. She’s basically Rey before Rey. The closest to having live action Mara Jade. Ahsoka was hated early on. Then The Clone Wars got better and now she’s even more beloved than Leia and Padmé. Star Wars is not high art. There’s going to be bozo writing like how Jar Jar keeps getting promoted for higher government jobs. Or how Obi-Wan changes his first name to Ben but keeps his last name and hides Vader’s son in Anakin’s home planet with Ani’s own stepbrother and wife while Luke still uses the same last name. So much inconsistencies in the writing dating back to A New Hope. Star Wars is not coming from Coppola, Scorsese, or Nolan. It’s not Oppenheimer. Treat it like the next Jurassic movie. High expectations is why Star Wars gets judged so harshly compared to something like Star Trek when all Star Wars is involves space monks/samurais with telekinesis and laser swords.
It’s interesting you call him a villain, because for a villain he seems to be as much a victim. That’s why he’s so interesting to me, because while he has helped Morgan Elspeth to return Thrawn to the galaxy, he has another purpose of his own which has been created through his experience of Order 66. It’s such a shame Ray wont get to finish his work as the character, and it’s a real dilemma for Dave Filoni. Whoever comes in as a replacement has to command the screen like Ray did, and that is going to take a long search for someone who can fulfil those challenges. It will have to be someone with the same sort of background as Ray, which is clearly in the theatre, and can project power and sorrow at the same time. That’s the depth of the character Ray gave him, and it will demand anyone stepping into his shoes does the same. Anything short will fail to meet expectations. That’s the mark of great acting, and to throw in the Star Wars fan base on top, who have their own level of expectations it’ll be a delicate balance to strike moving forward. I can definitely see how his story would raise interests for Tales of the Jedi, or Tales of the Empire. Maybe his story could be shown in both shows, from where he moves from one view point to the other. I’m also curious about Shin Hati and her place in the Star Wars story moving forward. Where do these characters go? O they stay on Peridea ? Do they find a different pathway between both galaxies through the World Between Worlds? Or is there a secret route established there between both places in some other way. In some ways Dave has done what he’s best at, which is world building. He is creating another realm of Star Wars, where they can play with other concepts.
The biggest flaw in the Jedi teaching was that emotions cause you to go to the dark side. Wrong! Emotions with knowledge and clarity and wisdom can enhance one's awareness and empathy towards others and will leave one open to see the wrong in the dark side. Learning to understand and control the expression of your emotions is the truth and best. A true good Jedi would help the weak get out of slavery and from being abused by others. Good Jedi's would never let themselves be used for power and war. That is the dark side of the force, war, killing, power maintaining by force, hate of the other, letting people suffer when you can do something to stop it, arrogance and narcissism, etc.

Baylan Skoll another Smart "Jedi" who realised that the whole organisation is a bunch of garbage & it has overall done more harm then good especially during the end of the High republic era going into the Prequels etc 🤣 The Clone wars show illustrates that , the acolyte Illustrates that & much more new star wars Lore is continuing to expose this fact ✅.
The Force and The Jedi are a perfect parrallel for God and the Church. What started out as good, has turned into an organization obsessed with maintaining it’s standard and orthodoxy and has forgotten it’s mission to worship God and serve people. A perfect example is seeing fundamentalists obsesess about the ten commandments when they should be obsessing abotu the sermon on the mount. If you coud live the sermon on the mount then you wouldnt even have to think about living the ten commandments. But if you obsess abotu living the ten commandments you will almost absolutely fail at living the sermon on the mount since you will be too focussed on your behaviour instead of helping your fellow man.
I think the Clone Wars did a pretty good job illustrating the faults of the Jedi and the Republic and not painting them as absolute good guys.
I agree. And I think they did a good job of showing the subtleties of how that happens. That's what I don't like about the Acolyte. They're way more corrupt than the Jedi depicted in Phantom menace. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
good work Meg🎉

Remember that Baylan and Anakin are relatively the same age. This means that Baylan was probably a padawan when Sifo Dyas went missing. Although, the coolest twist would be that Baylan was Sifo's padawan... (I'm calling it!)
I've been saying since the end of Ahsoka S1 that Baylan will need to become the new Son to help the new Daughter (Ahsoka) to re-imprison Abeloth, who's prison began to fail during the Clone Wars when the Ones died.
Thanks Meg 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Finally someone doing star wars theory or videos again
Thank you for this. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video love this theory
Really good point that Baylan is like the darker Qui-Gon, great video overall! :)
If it's the latter that basically makes him a foil to Ahsoka, who merely learned from the past (i.e. the Clone Wars flashbacks) instead of trying to change it
Based on the current state of Star Wars Baylon is gay and hearing the call of the son to come join him to create an heir using Force Wizard magic.
Very good episode!!!
Thanks Meg! 🙏🏼
I truly hope they continue his story , such a powerful character
Baylon is my favorite character by far in the last 20 years
Absolutely amazing theory!! Loved this video immensely. What my idea was loosely as well but you are 10X the Jedi I will ever be LOL.
The sound of Megs Voice is like Amy Winehouse singing Starwars info.
It will be interesting to see how Dave weaves the character into the story. So happy a S2 is confirmed
I'm sorry, but relying on Disney to interpret the moral significance of the Force is like relying on Mara to interpret the Four Noble Truths (in Buddhism), or Lucifer to interpret the Sermon on the Mount (in Christianity)!
I do wish your sound was better, other than that you’re doing really well x
Very interesting, and what of The Bendu, how does he tie in?
Meg, you are such a breath of fresh air today!! Wonderful topic!! Have a blessed day!
Utidiiiiiii 🎉😂❤. how did i miss this?!?!?
Baylan is younger than Anakin. He claims to have been barely older than Shin Hottie at the time of Order 66. He never would have met Qui Gon or Sifo Dyas, and would have most likely only known Dooku from the opposite side of the battlefield.
Nothing like watching star war Meg after a bad day.
I think Nick Offerman would make a great recast.
Theyve gone back and made him 895 years old and he remembers Yoda bullying him as a youngling.
He doesn't know it's Aboloth. He'll find out. Ashoka mentioned Aboloth in an official trailer.
We all have in us light and dark, what you choose to feed is what prevails.
I call bullcrap on that speech. I've seen no evidence that Dooku would give a crap about slavery.
Rather than expressing his own views on slavery, I believe his point was the hypocrisy of Yoda and the Jedi.
Love the pragmatic and logical explanation. Thank you for being reasonable, Meg.
Maybe Baylan wants to enter the World Between Worlds to change history. Maybe Star Wars is going to embrace the multiverse although that may not be a good idea.
RIP Ray Stevenson but I do hope they recast Baylan Skoll.
And yet Sidious still couldn't kill the lill green guy when they duelled..
Yoda didn’t believe in the “threads” that’s why
C'mon Meg... Baylan is the same age as Anakin... He would have been a tiny little kid when Sifo Dyas was around. If at all...
Meg thank you
We need to talk about The Acolyte. There is a lot to unpack from Episode 4 as I replayed certain scenes over and over and let’s make predictions for Episode 5. Qimir or not Qimir, that is the question…
Qimir: How do you kill a Jedi without a weapon?
And then listen carefully to how he said “he collects people.” He said *people* in a serious tone the same way he told Mae that “he’d kill you.”
All the tea leaves points to Qimir as Smilo Ren.
Smilo Ren?
90% Qimir
2% Vernestra
2% Koril
2% Aniseya
2% Indara
1% Sol’s evil twin
1% Bazil
Here’s Vernestra’s convo with Sol.
But did anyone change Wookiepedia while the show was on, that's the important question 😅
The Jedi only have to blame themselves for falling they were to complacent and rigid the wasn’t important enough for them
The Jedi’s absolutist belief that there is no middle way, led to their hubris and downfall.
George Lucas fashioned the Force & the Jedi Way after Buddhism.
Buddhism refers to itself as "The Middle Way."
Of course you need to understand the religion to understand the multifaceted meaning of that statement. And that requires more study than most non-Buddhist's are likely to invest.
Personally I think George's description of the light side as being unselfish & the dark side as selfish, was a fine summary of Buddhism. But not one that illustrates why it is the Middle Way.
Ok, to put it as simply as I can: the Middle Way refers to:
(1) Halfway between asceticism & hedonism: Moderation
(2) Halfway between objective & subjective: Seeing reality directly, just as it is
(3) Unifying mind & body.
(4) Seeing the unity of all things.
And Huayan Buddhism uses the expression: "The one and the many"
(5) The cessation of suffering by dispensing with desire, to reach nirvana.
@@JimTempleman If so, the Jedi were shitty Buddhists. // That is a terribly incomplete definition of Buddhist Nirvana.

God that speech about yoda is so amazing
Dooku saying what he said about Yoda is hilarious considering who he went to work for, embracing the dark side, and not doing anything about the slavery that started taking place in the Separatist systems. 🙄🙄🙄
Baylan is a continuation of Anakin’s story. Especially if he chooses to play the role of the Chosen One which Anakin declined.
Yoda made many mistakes, but Windu and Mundi held everyone back
Too bad established lore has become fluid lore in Starwars now. We can't trust it won't just be changed to suit a new creator. So sad.
Baylan is the last good original character Stars gave us
Did they though?
Yeah g'day,
Baylan was the balance to Qui Gon but had a better understanding of the Whills and how each action needed an equation opposing action.
Baylan does look good standing on the outstretched arms of the Kings of Numenor.
It's a goodnight from you and it's a goodnight from the broken, cantankerous, belligerent, obnoxious, obstinate, obstreperous, cynical Old Fart
Can I just say thank you for making something not mentioning the other show, it’s a nice reprieve ❤
🤔🤔🤔
Amandla Steinberg has a "song" on Instagram attacking critics for being racist. This was predictable, and another reason many are frustrated with Star Wars.
What does that have to do with the video we just watched?
Is there any word in the English language that internet culture has rendered more meaningless than "REVEALS" ?
No one truly gives a shit.
Who???
More Disney made up canon, grrreat
Best Characters From The Acolyte
1. Smilo Ren/Qimir
2. Sol
3. Aniseya
4. Mae (older)
5. Osha
6. Yord
Charlie from Emergency Awesome is correct.
Disney Star Wars revisionism. The continuing Disney leftard brigade retconning of pre- Disney canon.
Yesss lore please, starwars youtube besides like 3 channels is decrepit whining now , some whatever but god there is a treasure trove of lore out there
I really like your content but I had to stop following you for a while because the acolytes I
No disrespect to you but that show should’ve been stopped just like the Indy movie Disney has NO IDEA how to make a good Star Wars show they should leave it to the two Daves
Baylan the only good character to come out of Disney SW
Baylan Skoll another Smart "Jedi" who realised that the whole organisation is a bunch of garbage & it has overall done more harm then good especially during the end of the High republic era going into the Prequels etc 🤣
The Clone wars show illustrates that , the acolyte Illustrates that & much more new star wars Lore is continuing to expose this fact ✅.
