- Star Wars The Acolyte Review of Season 1 Episode 3 by Leslye Headland for Disney+. Since Disney bought Lucasfilm they have released Star Wars shows like Ashoka and Kenobi, but none have been successful. Can the Acolyte turn it around with Amandla Stenberg. Is the Acolyte worth watching?

The Acolyte Review of Season 1 Episode 3 where a coven of witches destroys the lore of the force, by calling it a thread that has paths rather than is everywhere. Since Disney bought Lucasfilm we survived Kenobi and Ashoka, but The Acolyte employing writers who knew nothing about Star Wars may be the last nail in the coffin. This is a confusing episode that really didn't answer anything and is either the product of bad writing, bad storytelling, or both. Gone is the moral grey of the advertisements, its very clear who is good and evil in this episode. While they may try and twist the story later, I have the feeling none of it will make sense. As ever the entertainment in The Acolyte is only what you make yourself. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Sounds like they used portions of the storyline from the series A Discovery of Witches.

Darth Plagueis tried to create life with the force and sith alchemy and suffered such serious backlash from the force it almost killed him. The sith that could heal anything and even bring people back from the dead. Only reason he survived is because of that skill. A coven of space witches created life, twice, and it took years for that backlash in the force to build sufficiently and it then burned them all to death.
That's my headcanon baby, and it ain't gonna change. Better than whatever dreck Weinsteins bait girl came up with, no doubt.

Checks out according to the old lore, in order for lesbians to have kids they need to force the Force to make them which is a Dark Side technique. The kids becoming unstable and self destructive is normal for an unnatural result like that as it goes against the order and balance of the Force.
Just look at Anakin, he was also made due to the force and he fell to the Dark Side real quick once he started to become emotionally unstable and wound up taking self destructive actions that cost him everything.

I agree. I think that's what the show is going to set up. KK and Leslye hate the Jedi and so they have done away with their special connection to the force. So they will become the bad guys by killing the witches and stealing the children that they want. The final nail in the coffen that was George's Star Wars.
I believe their Darth-Maul-looking mom killed them all, out of spite that the other mom let Osha go, and became Mae's master.
Jedi aren't perfect, but even so this act seems to be very uncharacteristic. At the very least such as slaughter would have pushed them towards the Dark Side and it's descending path

Darth Plagueis creating life was originally framed as a mad science act of hubris on his part. He was effectively Star Wars Doctor Frankenstein and the eventual destruction of the Sith was his comeuppance. This retcon changes him from a universal villain embodying hubris to a specifically feminist villain stealing power from women. Because you realize that's the direction they are going with this, right? This is the origin of Plagueis' power, which is no longer him mastering dark side to an abominable, mad scientist-like degree, but him stealing a secret from a group of women.
He's basically the Chinese stealing western technology
Heck, in the extended universe lore Force Alchemy (using the force to permanently manipulate and change organisms) was viewed as acting like a god and was what lead to the schism in the Jedi. Those supporting it's use fled to Korriban and enlisted the Sith race as allies thus getting the name Sith. It's also why Sith look like they do, they are twisting the Force to their desire and are twisted by the Force in turn.
I had that thought as well, is Palpatine just gonna randomly go to the base and find a handy holocron with the info on how to do it..?
Atleast Darth Plagueis have a certain mystique to his name. The actor for this female "creator" of life lacks gravitas. You can feel she is very much aware of the cameras. She can't even immerse herself in her character. She can't act to save her life. She can't even pretend to be mysterious and wise.

Did anyone else pick up on the show making Master Torbin a Padwan 16 years ago, meaning that within 16 years he went from Padwan to Master. This would be questionable to say the least considering on average it takes around 10/12 years to go from Padwan to knight, but we know that for the last 10 years he's been alone meditating leaving only a 6 year gap for him to go from Padwan to master or him somehow gaining the rank of master while isolating. Both scenarios as stupid as the other. The writing for this show is abysmal. We're led to believe then that this guy must have been one of the most powerful Jedi ever if he went from Padwan to master in 6 years, yet he just decides to let himself die because of some guilt 🤦♂️

On top of that, I think the only reason Obi-Wan had the kind of pull to pressure them was due to the rediscovery of the Sith and his own defeat of Maul.
