Robyn Hood Review of Season 1 Episode 2 of the Canadian Robin Hood remake by DirectorX. The accidental comedy of this show is the primary entertainment of the show because the plot and the characters certainly aren't. Featuring a gang of criminals fighting off an innocent businessman just trying to improve the city, they avoid justice once more by committing even more crimes, to avoid accountability for the ones they committed last week. If this is the 2nd episode, I don't see how their plot will even last out the remaining weeks, but the quality dropping off a cliff at this point seems certain. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
I watched your first reaction video with my wife and she commented that the show you are reviewing seems geared towards a teenage audience, not adults, based on the quality and "depth" of the show.
Let me get this straight. Chad offers them a million dollars, scholarship, and the best doctors in the world, and all they have to do is stop breaking into his business/home? Um, how is he the villain???????
@@dariovirga7711 Nope. It's not even a trap. He's just offering it, because it's mutually beneficial for him, as it takes the ring leader of the opposition out of the picture, which may let him do the work he's allowed to do on the land. I mean, the million dollars is probably a drop in the bucket, and someone who's now permanently paralyzed might leap at the chance to actually live a comfortable life, instead of having to suffer every day.
Not only has Prince committed the least amount of crime, but he also offered to give the victim of a police shooting a million dollars. All on top of funding an entire children's wing to a hospital. This show is gloriously bad. 😂
It's fucking hilarious how the main villain of the series. Is a responsible adult, Tries to teach his son to be better, Is clearly the most intelligent character in the show (low bar I know), Has actually established plans to improve the area he wants to buy, He scolded the cop when they shot the mom, he actually plans to BUY Sherwood he's not stealing it.
I'm shocked they actually had a bit of realism in the show. Mayor's and presidents currently would 100% sign a pardon for an entire apartment block worth of people just because they are "poor"
If a rich CEO wanted to completely renovate my neighborhood and breathe new life into it and make it affordable to live there, I'd be on my hands and knees kissing his shoes thanking him profusely.
@@zombifiedpariah7392most people would. Shit man that is a once in a decade chance for any community. Especially one that obviously needs help that they aren’t getting from the officals
"I made an angry condescending rant video at angry nerds on the internet because I'm too fragile to take criticism" Would you tell her that? Real man, eh?
The “would you tell a girl” thing says a lot about the directors mentality. That’s not even high school level thinking. That’s an 8th grade mindset. Don’t tell anyone you like Power Rangers because girls won’t like you. Something happened to that dude and he never got over it. Like some little girl laughed at his Pokémon card collection and he can still hear her laughing
I used to always be the young man who told young ladies things they didn't expect that's why they still remember me all this time later. Yeah I don't want to judge him but his whole attitude screams try hard but I try not to be a body language person but 1st impressions are real.
I just noticed the Sheriff has 8 hash marks on her right jacket sleeve. Each hash mark is to represent 5 years in the military or law enforcement which would add to 40 years of service. Impressive considering the actress is 45 years old
@@Kyle-sr6jm Are they trying to create slums on the level of dystopias? Because that is a good way of doing it. If this goes on in a few decades they will have walls around those communities because of how crime infested and violent they are, is this the end goal because it is downright monstorous!
It says a lot about the Director and writers when their big, bad villain is the most sympathetic and moral character in the entire show. Of course, this is all coming from the people that interpreted Robin Hood’s creed as “steal from the rich to give to themselves”; all the while polluting their own community.
Then they go about complaining about how difficult their lives are after they're done. It's the equivalent of someone punching themselves in the face and whining about the pain.
That's because Director Ex- Lax and the writers have no real moral core to guide them or give them a healthy understanding of right and wrong, good and evil. As further proof, just look at what they did to "Tuck" in this: They changed/ perverted him from the often- drunk yet also jolly, good- natured, and sincerely holy Christian friar he is in the real story and its faithful adaptations, into a perpetually- stoned hacker weirdo and drug dealer who spouts/ espouses bizarre pseudo- New Age ramblings, a belief system clearly devoid of any of those "icky" commandments, moral dictates, and other promotions of general human decency that Christianity has. That's the only sort of religion that radical SJWs like Director Ex- Lax and his ilk can get behind: One that makes them feel "Spiritual," but doesn't provide them with any kind of moral compass, concept of the afterlife/ eternity, or concept of a higher power, and lets them worship themselves instead. This narcissistic, self- absorbed belief system is also evident in how ridiculously thin- skinned Director Ex- Lax has proven to be, slinging vicious yet childish insults and baseless accusations of racism at any who dare criticize the show; It's caused his ego to become so bloated and yet so fragile that any criticism of his work drives him into a foaming frenzy. Fortunately, all that means I won't have to worry about him stinking up Heaven with his foul, obnoxious presence; He and those like him will instead go somewhere MUCH hotter, which is jam- packed with people just as narcissistic and self- absorbed as he is.
In case your curious, here are the crimes that have been committed by our “protagonists” in the first two episodes: loitering, breaking and entering, assault, battery, theft that would be easily consider grand larceny in the US, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, kidnapping, destruction of public property, hacking, impersonation, and several other crimes I’m sure I forgot. I look forward to the finale where they commit murder.
Since this comment is from 2 months ago, I'm assuming you've seen all of Disparu's episode reviews for the show. I'm rewatching my playlist of his show reviews & saw this comment. Murder for the finale - and me instantly thinking of the comment I made there. Better than murder (in entertainment/Disparu shredding, while worse in reality & scope) -- we got them turning all the inhabitants of their apartment buildings into domestic terrorists.
@@fennglordd6365 On the one hand Mauler really does try and be nice despite his reputation on the other hand he's like a surgeon when he cuts he goes all the way. Some people he's made videos about have come on his channel and had fun though.
@@Drak976 That's true. Even in a Twitter flame war he comports himself like a gentleman. It's just that I recently watched his unbridled rages where his style of critique and use of language is a somewhat different. Would still love to read his response to director.

@@KitsuneAdorable Next, he'll probably start claiming that everyone who dislikes the show is poorly- endowed, and of course double down on the "Racism" accusations.
Law enforcement in this series is either written by people who have never gone outside, or are generated/written by an AI who has only ever been exposed to anti-police stuff on social media.
Not, this is written by people that believe that law enforcement are only good to kill and harass the citizens. The same people that want to de-fund the police and self protect themselves.
Yeah, they don't even understand how an injunction works. You can't get an injunction against the police. Especially to stop them from investigating a crime. Otherwise every criminal born would try to do that.
Sadly as someone who lives in Toronto, there are some parts of the black community that echo a lot of the confrontational and militant anti-police/perpetual victimhood sentiments of the BLM movement since one of the main founders is situated here. Who ironically was also caught up in a controversy of funneling donations intended for the "oppressed community" and used to purchase a very expensive luxury home which they vigorously denied since their departure from the organization. Every cop seen in this show are literal parodies of the Toronto Police Department.
_Law enforcement in this series is either written by people who have never gone outside, or are generated/written by an AI who has only ever been exposed to anti-police stuff on social media._ It's worse than that. They are trying to straddle the Canadian and American law enforcement structures and practices, and wind up with a Frankenstein's monster that reflects neither country.
Would i tell a woman on a first date that i reviewed Robyn Hood? Hell Yeah! I'd even invite her to watch an episode together, and riff on it with me. Having a good laugh on a date is always a positive.
This is such a terribly written show, that I sincerely debated with myself about even watching another review. What finally convinced me to watch was Disparu's sacrifice. I couldn't let him do this alone. Someone needs to share this pain. It's okay, bro. You're not alone. We're right here with you. Stay strong.
Look, don't go down that rabbit hole, it's a clear path to major brain damage. Disparu is a professional, it takes years to build up an immunity to badly written garbage. You actually have to take special courses and get certified to do these types of reviews.
This is the worst part of shows like this. The director/producers/writers think they know 'the lingo' of the kids, but it just comes across as forced and awkward. So many of these scenes would have been better and more realistic if the director LITERALLY JUST SAID TO THEM (for example) "Okay now walk down the street talking and pretend the camera isn't there" and just let them say whatever instead of following their 'script' LOL.
How young adults behave? This director doesn't know how ANYONE behaves! Cops, lawyers, parents, businessmen, criminals: it's embarrassing how ignorant this clown is.
this would be the 2nd most embarrassing thing Canada has done lately, if they had not given an actual SS Waffen Nazi a standing ovation. Director X is a close second.
I dunno, that blackface photo was pretty bad. Canada still voted for a racist dictator though so I have about as much sympathy for Canada that I do for New York and their immigration problem.
What's funny to me is listening to the creator of the show accuse people like us of being 'angry.' Buddy, we're not mad, we're having fun with your show. And I think we're probably the only ones.
The thing that has me puzzled most is the whole "Bail" situation. The woman is paralyzed and hospitalized...apparently still on morphine (they mentioned) ; she's clearly not ready or able to go anywhere. She needs to stay in the hospital for treatment. Anyhow the gang stole and sold a Rolls to pay her bail ...so she can remain in the same hospital in the same bed. So nothing was changed by paying the bail. I mean What A Stupid Plot Point!
An important thing to remember about Robin Hood that he was a yeoman; that is, he was upper middle class, and land owner. He made a point of not robbing anyone of equal or lower status than himself, and would only go after nobles when he felt they were abusing their power....usually by robbing their tax collectors. He gave the tax money back to the people because most of them were beneath him and he had a noblesse oblige to look out for them. He did not oppose the system; he had problems with people who were abusing the system. In short, he was nothing like the dirty crooks presented here.
Really depends on which story you're looking at, as a few have him as the son of Anglo-Saxon nobility fighting against the abuses of a largely Norman nobility.
@@Lobsterwithinternet Yeah, and don't even get started on the wars between the Welsh and English.. o-o' they died centuries ago... when the Welsh royal family did.
@@georgeray1906 that's such a drastic over-simplification that it misses the point. It's not being rich that made people worthy of stealing from... also it's questionable if it was actually stealing.
The problem I have with this show, and I've mentioned it in a few different comments, is that it misses that Robin Hood exists in a very specific context. Among other things one has to remember is that the key to the whole story is that Robin Hood isn't even a criminal. See, the entire legend goes back to the ideas that lead to someone being called "noble" being a positive thing. Robin Hood was a noble, Robin Of Loxley, who went to fight in The Crusades overseas, who returned to find England largely usurped due to bloodlines and politics by a prince with primary loyalties to France who has a long history of animosity with England. This was possible because King Richard The Lionheart was being held prisoner by the Muslims (loosely based on reality). Prince John has put a bunch of Norman (French) Nobles into power, and is oppressing the Saxons (English) by forcing unreasonable taxes on them, part of which he pockets, and even more of which he is sending to the French crown, meaning he's literally taxing them in the name of a foreign power with a history of animosity. When Robin returns and objects, Prince John declares him an outlaw, but being a noble in the idealistic sense he refuses to be imprisoned and starts doing things like robbing tax collectors and returning the money to the people. This is why "The Sheriff Of Nottingham" is a major villain of the narrative, as he was the local tax collector. He wasn't acting out of socialist principle, and arguably was in the right because this was his land, and he was defending his people, according to his oath. This is why when King Richard returns he boots Prince John and simply returns Robin's land and titles to him, declaring him a hero (in many versions). The problem with Robyn Hood is that Director X probably just heard "he's a guy who robs from the rich and gives to the poor" so decides to make some kind of racial social justice thing where black criminality is supposed to be justified by them not having money and targeting rich people. He tries to insert some vague metaphor about gentrification, but shows he doesn't understand the issues as his alleged heroes actually represent the entire problem that justify it, and that has nothing to do with skin color by the way. Robocop has a pretty nuanced take on that for the campy and sometimes comedic work it was, and actually showed all sides of the issue, while still painting OCP as the bad guys. This is because Edward Neumeier Michael Miner who wrote it actually understood what he was talking about, in addition to having a framing device that was entertaining to explore those issues. By having Robocop originally conditioned to follow the orders of OCP, he does a good job of showing what the situation looks like from their perspective, even if they are obviously going way too far in doing things like making the problems even worse to justify increasingly extreme actions. OCP was a good bad guy for the type of movies (and other material) these were, as their motives actually made sense, and you could even understand how as bad as many of them were they could justify even their own greed in a sort of "greater good" sense as they felt they would ultimately benefit people by making Detroit better in the end. This is way too long again, but this is pretty much why they shouldn't be giving a music video director gigs on TV and movies like this, they keep failing for a reason. The most humiliating part of this is that DirectorX is mostly famous for the music stuff, and there is no excuse for why the hip hop bits are the most cringe worthy part, as even by the intended standards that is just terrible. That's supposed to be his thing, and if nothing else we should be saying "well the show is terrible, but it had a catchy sound track" and well, clearly that isn't happening. If nothing else the producers over him should notice this and give him the boot, and to be honest at this point I wouldn't even trust him to do videos anymore.
I'm not reading an essay, but I live in Nottingham, so here's the truth : Robin Hood is an amalgamation of murderers and rapists. There you go. All publicly hanged. FACT. End of.
I've seen pictures of Kira Guloien, the redhead playing the sheriff of Nottingham. She's an absolute beauty. In a just universe, she'd be Maid Marian in a real Robin Hood series.
So wait, the lawyer got an "injunction" from the Mayor's office, which allows her to halt an active police investigation by the Sheriff (who doesn't work for the Mayor)? They didn't do a single minute of research, did they? 😂
Director X is a fraud, he conned people into giving money to this idiotic project thinking that his laughable skills as a music video director would save him. Maybe if he was directing music videos to put on MTV 40 years ago, but music videos now suck so badly.
The amount of dialogue the sheriff spends sucking off the “heroes” is unbelievable. She has nothing but good things to say about them despite them being CRIMINALS who make their community worse.
"They're smart and resourceful!" Lady, they threw a ball at a drone. Stop sucking their cocks "A leader! Cunning!" No, you just have minions who learned they'll be kicked any time they try to do their jobs or give a decent idea.
Yeah, a trope of poor writing is the villain describing the heroes' actions and motivations the way the heroes do. "Why do they keep being virtuous when I want to do evil?!" is the shorthand.
@@steveouk90126Indeed the trope commonly used in cases like this is called character shilling which often then fails due to how horrible the character actually is.
I do so love the delicious irony, in that trying to create a villain to inspire hate, "Director X" has accidentally crafted the best written heroic character in the whole show.
"I'll give you a million bucks so that your children will have a future you are unable to give them, as well as pay for your rehabilitation despite the fact that your daughter trespassed and stole from me. I'm already funding a children's medicine wing down the hall. There is material, physical evidence that I do good in your community." "You better git outta here 'fore I call the nurse on you!"
What wrong with giving one star to a terrible YA tv show? So young adults don't deserve good television? That's the excuse they use for bad kids shows and now we're using it for adult shows too? 🤦🏽♀️
Activist showrunners have been using that excuse for years. Rings of Power. She-Hulk. Halo. Wheel of Time. Dr. Who. They won't accept that their show just has bad writing. It has to be because of the audience's bigotry.
You know what, I’ve honestly enjoyed this entire exercise so far because it’s actually encouraged me to dig into the English legend of Robin Hood, the historical biography of King John and brush up on my 20 year old remembrance of the Magna Carta. I’m loving this! God bless Director X 🤣
This is how these people see theft. It's okay as long as you say you're doing it for food. There are several morally good things you can do. None of them start with "stealing."
Read Darwins writings about visiting Africa for the first time. He was astonished that the wildlife managed to thrive, while the humans were starving and covered in bugs. None of them ever considered hitching a plow, after domesticating one of the wildlife and planting seeds to grow food. They merely survive off of the scraps left by the animals. This was before modern western welfare was sent.
@RighBread it was to do with high taxes not someone trying to rejuvenate a neighbourhood. Unjust taxes from a selfish king. It doesn't make sense in this setting
Yeah, but from corrupt rich people, not from a normal dude who happens to be rich. Plus, these people aren't suffering the same financial circumstances as in the original story. In the story, the people had jobs and earned money, but everything they earned got taxed by the corrupt government. In this story, they don't have jobs, and they just steal stuff from a normal guy who happens to be rich
The girl who plays the main Character Robyn actually is a huge narcissist and thinks the world revolves around her they had a difficult time filming because of how obnoxious she was
The man genuinely thinks liking his show about inner city criminals will get men laid and that disagreement makes someone a loser. That there is what you need to know about him.
Gotta love how the director of this show believes that a County Sheriff department will blaze through a block of flats, smashing things like the FBI looking for dirt on their political opponents..
Robyn Hood Episode 2 is the embodiment of the writers strike, "Here let me give you all your demands, you were right about everything, just please stop protesting" "How dare you give me everything I asked for, you're not taking this seriously, I hate you, you're not my real dad!"
Throughout the entire review I just couldn't get over the incredibly stupid thing the director said. Who in the hell uses how they rate movies or tv shows as an ice breaker to anyone, let alone a potential romantic partner?! How desperate is he to attack his critics that this is the best connection his crippled brain could come up with? At this point I wish Az would do an interview with him, just to get him to explain this to us. I have to know, it's hurting my brain thinking about it and I just can't move on from this.
My dad has a saying: "You can handle ignorance. You can handle arrogance. You can't handle both." He's just a bully that pokes people, fake cries when they get irritated, and laughs behind Trudeau. That's really all there is too it.
So like my biggest question was the condom cookie jar in use before she had children? Because if so the father might have a reason to leave when he kept finding it empty. Look show we need answers.
In the last two years, we got: She hulk Rings of power Witcher blood origin Willow Velma Secret invasion Ahsoka Robyn hood What’s the worst out of them?
I used to be active in a lot of writing communities, and while many people were toxic elitists a common sentiment about writing was made quite frequently: Anyone can write, but everyone has their own skill level. It's easy for a skilled, intelligent writer to write a stupid character who is entertaining, because they have talent and skill, and it's easy to turn your brain down a bit. An unintelligent writer, however, cannot write an intelligent character. It's a frame of reference they are not able to put themselves in, because it requires them to put themselves into a frame of reference they are unable to enter. They will always write a smart character poorly, because they are unable to understand what makes them smart. Because of this, writers need to play to their strengths, and know when to limit themselves. I see this more and more often with media. Writers and directors do not know how to write anything outside of a very narrow, biased scope that they produce the most obnoxious, poorly written characters because they simply put do not know how to write anyone that is not themselves. We've entered an age where shitty fanfic writers write shitty fanfic level media, and are confused when they get the same response as their shitty fanfic did because they had some big budget behind it.
If he considers what nerds have to say about things he's really showing his strength and style of idea in adapting the story of a damn English Noble rebelling against a corrupt Prince and saving his people and getting the girl. God damn, it just hurts so much to compare the two.
that brings up a thought I've been having about this show. When does this shows version of Maid Marian and the main character going to come out to be Lesbian (likely a very toxic one that's abusive to her partner). i'm aware that she was added into the story a bit later. but somehow I doubt the creator knows that.
As a Canadian, I can only say a really huge sorry to the world for this. On the other hand, as someone who currently lives in Berlin though, I can easily say thay this show is a steaming pile of dog crap. Disparu, you are doing God's work by ripping into this one for all the world to see. It's also entertaining af 😂
First time I'm noticing a mistake of Disparu: There is a higher chance of being targeted if you are a takeaway delivery person. They almost always carry cash on them, they are usually defenseless, and they are mostly alone, and you can make them come to where you plan to commit the crime. People order takeaways to random locations, wait for the takeaway delivery person to arrive, then just either grab the food and run away, or also take their phone and their money.
"Angry fans" What fans is he even referring to? I wasn't aware there was a huge community of Robin Hood fans. You know, outside the animated Disney one...
30:21 I love how hacking in movies and tv has become so absurd that we don't even bother showing them using keyboards anymore. I don't care that he has implants; this is just techno-wizardry now. 😂
They make it very clear they are willing enthusiastic criminals, yet they show implies that the police harass them for no reason. Can’t have it both ways.
A Robin Hood TV show made by a man who: -doesn't understand the story of Robbin Hood -doesn't understand what makes a rogue character likeable -doesn't understand how the police or the law work -doesn't understand that his outlook on social/political issues is so backwards, he's making the bad guys....follow the rules and the "good guys" doing everything bad...he's even using practically every bad stereotype...IN BAD WAYS...My man made a TV show about black people commiting crimes to the point where they made their own neighborhood too dangerous for their own people to live in, that's either incredibly based, or...me thinks your ideology is a bit backwards. "Eat the rich" - but that isn't what your show is telling me, it's telling me your "heroes" are useless, awful people who should be in jail.. You also can't use the pathetic victimhood mentality in a Robbin Hood story, it just doesn't work, you can't be the victim, steal, rob and assault people...and then still claim to be a victim... This is what happens when activists write TV shows instead of writers.
I feel like this show is pure gold for Disparu. It's full of comedic irony. The main cast are a rule of three of awful: #1 stupid. #2 criminal. #3 degenerate. Usually ONE of those is enough to make a character dislikeable. This is basically MILF Manor's action-adventure equivalent.
America is losing on the global stage for a reason. China and Russia aren't bad faith arguers and don't promote a culture with psychopaths hell bent on pedaling their own narrative. The trashbag throw onto the police officer killed me. Yep, surely it was heavy enough to make the officer fall over, while it was easy for her to pick up aaannnnd the garbag back clearly could contain such a heavy weight without tearing through! Hilarious
*Over a decade ago I read a poem by the infamous serial killer BTK/Dennis Rader entitled “Ana, why did you appear?” Which was about a woman whose home Rader broke in to and hid inside her closet for like 20 hours to murder her when she came home, she happened to see that someone had tampered with her window and wisely went to her parents home and saved her own life. But ever since I read that grotesque shit and it’s backstory, now anytime I hear some shit go bump on the night, I grab my AR and sweep my house, closets and all, to make sure some psycho-sexual sadist isn’t waiting to bind torture and kill me. I do a more thorough search of my home out of blind paranoia than the police do for violent criminals in this trash-ass show.*
Not to sound harsh, but you probably should talk about it with professionals (and maybe invest in good locks :D) Being paranoid and sweeping your house with AR at night sounds to me like accident waiting to happen, what if for what ever reason there happens to be someone at your door and you panic and unload a mag in them? what if it was police officer looking for someone for example.
I know this is bad on your end but I literally wait for you to post these. You had the best reaction to the first episode, I can't wait to see this one! 😂❤
When he said, "If you bring one more peasant into my penthouse, I will throw her off the balcony myself." I immediately replied with, yes, do it! Just like Edward Longshanks in Braveheart, lol
It's not the messy cabling in the server room that's the problem - that actually looked better than some I've seen in real life - its the fact that there should be the DEAFENING SOUND of air conditioning to stop the servers from overheating and shutting down and the light ropes 😂😂😂
Honestly, I love that this has come out.... it makes the Robin Hood story I wrote *at 14* look like a masterpiece- maybe I _should_ publish it, after all...
Great life advice from Director X, “lie to your future lover about your profession”. With friends like that who needs enemies? 🤣 Keep it up Disparu, you are so much more entertaining than the shows you review!
I disagree, I think the show is VERY realistic, in that trash rappers LOVE self-snitching. There was even a Key & Peele sketch about it. But seriously, these dudes build whole DA cases against themselves on live stream/twitter.
I admire the intellectual quality of this show. The well thoughtout storylines as well as virtuoso craftmenship in thier execution truely are works of geniusses. Never has entertainment been better. The absolute peak of an artform. Bravo I say. Bravo to the max!
I for one appreciate the people who loved this show that they signed up to IMDB just to leave a 10* review, despite not talking about any specifics about it, or having any other activity before or after.
shows reason for why you should hate John: He presses charges against people who tresspass on his property. He tells his soon not to bring random women into where he have priceless artifacts. He was angry his property was stolen. He told his son: He got one more key to the house or else he is locked out. Robyn and the hood's Crimes: Breaking and entering. Assaulting police... Like a lot. Impersonating public service personel. Assault with a deadly weapon, spears, swords, bows, trying to ram police with drones. Aggravated assault. Burglary. Grand theft. Pickpocketing. Obstruction of justice, not only trying to pull police away from their mother, but also falsify evidence. Destruction of property.
this has been my first time hearing about this show and my god how can they get the roles so reversed? the bad guys are the good ones and the good guys aren't even close
Random dudes on 4Chan can find a flag within 24 hours using nothing but tracked flights, nearby sounds, and Shia Labouff's instagram post. You mean to tell me this ultra wealthy billionaire can't find the location of a stolen car when the music video even says the town?
You can't get an injunction against the police. No judge in their right mind would consider signing off on that. Even if you could, it would do nothing to prevent the police from investigating the crime. These people have the legal understanding of a five year old that watches too many cop shows.
*sigh* watching the "cops" do that "raid" was actually painful. The director does know that cops can't just walk in and start breaking other peoples property right? Yes they might have the right to seize objects involving any investigations but any cop would lose their job for doing that especially if the government watchdog gets involved whoever that might be in Canada. These aren't the acts of cops but criminals even in the original tale of Robin hood the ordinary soldiers working under the sheriff weren't like this. Sure some of them weren't the nicest of people but they didn't go round just harassing people constantly. Great way to make the populace/city turn against you or other lords and ladies getting involved.
I mean, literally the first scene of the series is the cops boasting "We're on private property; we can do whatever we want." The director clearly knows NOTHING about the police.
I think that is their point. Part of the BLM agenda is Marxist with a pie in the sky simple minded Communist agenda and law enforcement are in the way.
I know I shouldn't, but let me rewrite this so actually the premise at least fits the legend of Robin better but still go with the general setting of this show. John Prince should be a political figure who has gotten into power because of the recent arrest of Mayor Richard Hart. Hart should be a hometown hero who grew up in the city, played and won sports championships for them, and earned the nickname of The Lion because of how ferocious he fought on the field and for the people. Robyn should be from a politically connected family that is close to the Hart family and is only one generation removed from the humble upbringing of the Sherwood Apartments and surrounding neighborhood. Marion can still be a lawyer working on exonerating Richard. While they in their hearts know Richard was framed, they have to work to find the proof and keep the people from home from being forced out by land developers who are screaming for the area to be taken over for imminent domain reasons.
The reason why the original story works is because it's coherent; attempting to push it into a generalized "anti-rich people" mold does not work well. And, of course, we know what kind of politician likes to raise taxes, and what kind are popular with the racial mix of the "good guys" in this version.
“They think they have beaten me, but I’m just getting started.” How is this threatening when all we’ve seen the Sheriff do is fail. If she was actually successful in something that’s be actually “scary”. Like she had little to no control over her men, even when she did something terrible it was completely unintentional. Like she didn’t even cover for her cop that shot Robyn’s mom nor did she have any scene telling her men to just sack Sherwood and spare no people of violence. Like nothing intentional is done by the sheriff to reinforce the need to take her seriously.
It must infuriate the showrunners that these videos talking shit about the show are so much better, more entertaining, and far more funny than the show they made
I am surprised that the villain doesn't do... ANY of the typical rich guy stuff in order to get his way. For example maybe instead of calling the police, which he had every right to do, maybe he instead sues the mother with a spurious lawsuit to gum her up for an indefinite period of time.
He doesn't even seem to do the stereotypical evil rich guy stuff. Like, why not have the "Sheriff" and such be PMCs he's hired? Why doesn't it get said his business is shady or his wealth is dirty/blood red?

So we now have a police officer who has been assaulted, when debriefed will say he was snuck up on from behind. As nobody saw anyone enter or exit the building, or climb it (and nobody knows about the spacious and well-lit tunnel system), will conclude that the criminals live in the tower block. Which, of course, they already knew from the "scrubbed clean" video of them saying Sherwood was their home. Watch out, Professor Moriarty has got some competition here!
The only reason one person would sleep on top of the covers while the other was beneath, would be the fear of a major league Dutch oven? Maybe she trapped him once before in her dutch oven and he’ll never chance it again? He may have even taken some brain damage. We all know how deadly they can be.
That's because Director Ex- Lax and the writers have no real moral core to guide them or give them a healthy understanding of right and wrong, good and evil.
As further proof, just look at what they did to "Tuck" in this:
They changed/ perverted him from the often- drunk yet also jolly, good- natured, and sincerely holy Christian friar he is in the real story and its faithful adaptations, into a perpetually- stoned hacker weirdo and drug dealer who spouts/ espouses bizarre pseudo- New Age ramblings, a belief system clearly devoid of any of those "icky" commandments, moral dictates, and other promotions of general human decency that Christianity has.

@@marhawkman303True but the point is Robin Hood steals the riches of nobles who abuses their power upon the common people.
Well said!

I wont let anyone talk trash about this show.
Its the greatest comedy of the past 5 years.

It's the next Robin Hood: Men in Tights, except it's Hoes in Condom Jars.
In the last two years, we got:
She hulk
Rings of power
Witcher blood origin
Willow
Velma
Secret invasion
Ahsoka
Robyn hood
What’s the worst out of them?
After all that has happened, there is no way that woman would turn down $1 million for a shitty council drug den.
Damn those must be some good drugs 🤣 (though looking at the area I highly doubt it).
No way in hell
"I feel sorry for him, HE CAN'T BREATHE!" I had to pause for a laugh break! I knew this show was going to be awesome through the Disparu lens
@@Quandry1 To be fair Maid Marian will always be a Fox.
"Angry fans"
What fans is he even referring to? I wasn't aware there was a huge community of Robin Hood fans. You know, outside the animated Disney one...
Men in Tights was pretty good too LOL.
If AZ and Disparu weren't reviewing this I wouldn't even know this show existed.
Thank the lord. I was getting worried Disparu wasn't going to continue Robyn Hood
30:21 I love how hacking in movies and tv has become so absurd that we don't even bother showing them using keyboards anymore. I don't care that he has implants; this is just techno-wizardry now. 😂
I am hacking into your computer... with my mind.
They make it very clear they are willing enthusiastic criminals, yet they show implies that the police harass them for no reason. Can’t have it both ways.
A Robin Hood TV show made by a man who:
-doesn't understand the story of Robbin Hood
-doesn't understand what makes a rogue character likeable
-doesn't understand how the police or the law work
-doesn't understand that his outlook on social/political issues is so backwards, he's making the bad guys....follow the rules and the "good guys" doing everything bad...he's even using practically every bad stereotype...IN BAD WAYS...My man made a TV show about black people commiting crimes to the point where they made their own neighborhood too dangerous for their own people to live in, that's either incredibly based, or...me thinks your ideology is a bit backwards.
The director of this show looks like the kinda guy who'd be a background gag character on The Boondocks. Even acts like one too.
I feel like this show is pure gold for Disparu. It's full of comedic irony.
The main cast are a rule of three of awful:
#1 stupid.
#2 criminal.
#3 degenerate.
Usually ONE of those is enough to make a character dislikeable. This is basically MILF Manor's action-adventure equivalent.
Directorx is doing as much for stereotypes as johnny somali. Well done
America is losing on the global stage for a reason. China and Russia aren't bad faith arguers and don't promote a culture with psychopaths hell bent on pedaling their own narrative. I hope you one day realize that people like you are your own problem. You don't unite the world but cause division while China and Russia rises and surpasses the West
Ana why DIDNT you appear*

Yeah, he must've gotten those light ropes off a garage sale of old SciFi channel movie props. 🤦♂️
These reviews coupled with the director joining the fray has made this show some of the most unintentionally entertaining television in a long time.
If you view it like a comedy, it's amusing but not worth wasting an hour on. 😁
"Not Malcolm X" is an excellent argument for defunding all mainstream media in Canada. Enough is enough.
🤔 this was produced by global tv. A private network like CTV, fox, NBC, CBS. Theres no public funding to defund from.... theres a meme here somewhere.
I for one appreciate the people who loved this show that they signed up to IMDB just to leave a 10* review, despite not talking about any specifics about it, or having any other activity before or after.
shows reason for why you should hate John:
He presses charges against people who tresspass on his property.
He tells his soon not to bring random women into where he have priceless artifacts.
He was angry his property was stolen.
He told his son: He got one more key to the house or else he is locked out.
Robyn and the hood's Crimes:
Breaking and entering.
Assaulting police... Like a lot.
Impersonating public service personel.
Assault with a deadly weapon, spears, swords, bows, trying to ram police with drones.
Aggravated assault.
Burglary.
Grand theft.
Pickpocketing.
Obstruction of justice, not only trying to pull police away from their mother, but also falsify evidence.
Destruction of property.
I get what you're saying but ... Robyn IS black so....
But but but, can't you see how black Robyn Hood is? Can't you see how white John Prince is? Surely that explains away all of that!
This show feels like a parody project of a bunch of stoned high schoolers
Too much credit. Middle schoolers.
Looked up Director “X” and his previous projects. Does he walk up to girls and let them know he directed several R. Kelly videos??
Ooooh snap!
If this is true, then that is hilarious and also very bad...
this has been my first time hearing about this show and my god how can they get the roles so reversed? the bad guys are the good ones and the good guys aren't even close
I mean, literally the first scene of the series is the cops boasting "We're on private property; we can do whatever we want."
The director clearly knows NOTHING about the police.
He's the type of individual who'd watch the FBI OPEN UP meme and think it's legit
I think that is their point. Part of the BLM agenda is Marxist with a pie in the sky simple minded Communist agenda and law enforcement are in the way.
This is getting beyond hysterical! I hope this debacle gets multiple seasons just to watch you and Az get the laughs and ‘lolz’ in haha!

Yes.For black people this is good story telling. The criminals are righteous and morally justified in all they do.
Wakanda forever!
The soundtrack sounds like a blind 5yr old was allowed to bang on pots & pans after being force-fed Meth 😂😂
In the States we say "Don't shit where you eat.", meaning one should not ruin/bring or make trouble in their own neighborhood!
Yeah in the UK it’s pretty similar. We say don’t shit on your own doorstep
What grown man that is not wasted would ever suggest a bounce castle as a solution unless a child's party is being discussed...
It must infuriate the showrunners that these videos talking shit about the show are so much better, more entertaining, and far more funny than the show they made
Same thing with Disney star wars, or rings of power...
Youre exactly right. Mauler's unbridled series on the new star wars is so much better than the actual movies
I'm fairly confident that many of them get more views than the actual episodes themselves do!
Oh lord here we go...
I watched your rings of power reviews and loved your humour, actually watched the series because of your reviews(prefer your videos) watching your channel has made me aware of series I wouldn't usually look for, the director should be happy you're bringing attention to his show - your channel is where I learned it existed😂
I'm laughing my ass off on this whole thing but the drone scene commentary takes the cake 😂😂
We now return to "Disparu losing his mind..."
