Gotham Knights CW series turned out to be even worse than the trailers showed it to be! Featuring a stunning 33% on rotten tomatoes it has everything, from fight choreography mistakes, "smart" retorts that make no sense, a laughable bat computer and humiliating Batman and his son. By the time I got to the police interview scenes I couldn't believe what I was watching and every new line was more laughably over the top than the last. If this is the Pilot episode 1 of CW's Gotham Knights, the rest of the DC series could be out of this world! But what did you think of what you saw? Of all of Batman's children, adopted and biological, they make up a brand new one that is not only not a Robin but didn't even know his secret. CW you've already hit rock bottom I didn't expect you to take out the pickaxes.
He was the only part I liked. They created him (apparently), so they couldn't screw up the casting or writing. The fact that he is the only guy is just ironic.

Imagine that Batman, a member of the Justice League, who has done battle with the likes of Darkseid, who's intellect is only topoed by people like Lex Luthor, is killed by common street punks. Yeah. Ok. Sure. Got it.
this is because there's two Batman. The first Batman has a hard time outthinking Riddler, Joker, Penguin, and Clayface, but always comes out on top in the end. He's a detective fighting street level crime. He uses gadgets, spends sleepless nights fighting psychopaths, and it takes a heavy toll on his psyche and body. All the while, the corrupt government, police, and justice system make his life harder. He fights arguably the best roster of villains (matched only by Spiderman's - coincidentally, Marvel's best seller), lives in a city so dark and organic it could be an urban reflection of Hell, and he uses his mind and tools and relentlessness to push back against an indefatiguable evil. He's joined by amazing sidekicks, from Gordon to Dick, Barbara, and Selina, and he looks sexy as all hell. He could totally die to a street level thug if he switched off for just a moment... but he never does, because HE'S BATMAN!! The most exciting hero imaginable. Then there's Justice League Batman, who's a mary sue with prep time, and has Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Superman job to him because his comic book sales are higher. His superpower is that other superheroes become dumber around him, despite the fact Flash can flick him in the ballsack in 0.00001 seconds with enough force to liquify his pelvis, and Superman can rip Batman's arms off 0.00001 seconds before he moves his hand a millimetre toward the kryptonite ring in his belt. Even when he almost kills the JL in Babel / JL Doom, he won't be the one to apologize because he's too big of a prick. Other leaguers are terrified of him, as shown in JLU and Young Justice, and he's frankly one of the most boring heroes imaginable.
@@sjc5411 the cute women made his Willow reviews extremely watchable despite the horror that show was. It was Disparu's best series, thus far, for bringing out his mockery and bite, whereas Rings of Power tended more to evoke untempered disbelief and genuine outrage.

The way they killed Batman in this show is insulting. At least Gotham Knights (the game) sent him out in a blaze of glory; he blew himself up trying to take down Ra's Al Ghul.

Got to love the fact that despite them being happy to introduce new characters who don't come from the comics, they still felt the need to raceswap a ginger, Carrie Kelley, by casting a black actress, rather than just making her one of the new characters. Not only is it annoying for fans who prefer faithful adaptations, it's rude to black people because once again they apparently only deserve hand-me-down, raceswapped white characters, and it's detrimental to the claimed goal of increasing diversity - Batman's adoptive son here, Turner Hayes, doesn't exist in the comics, but you can bet he'll now show up there sooner or later. If they'd given the black actress her own, brand new character, there's every likelihood that said character would have transferred over to the comics, increasing the diversity quotient there too.
The bigger question, why isn't Bruce Wayne's adopted kid diverse? They chose a wooden blond boy who might be straight. Must mean he's going to be the group punching bag but they missed a chance you'd think they'd leap at.
A few years ago they introduced Batman's biological son, Damien Wayne, who became Robin. There were also a bunch of previous Robins that were his wards. I have no idea why they made up this new guy.

As a lover of the whole batfam there’s more drama, angst and huffing out the door than days of our lives in the origin IP. How we ended up with this is honestly mind boggling. Jason’s storyline alone could go for ten seasons.
So many comics they could base things on but quite often they are only going to choose ones that already focused on battering readers over the head with the right message and/or check box characters.

It takes hundreds of people to plan, pitch, greenlight, write, produce, film, and edit a TV show like this. It's truly remarkable how the CW has, for years, been able to consistently release cringe-inducing shit show after cringe-inducing shit show without anyone of those people ever saying, "wait...hang on guys. Are we really doing it THIS way? Maybe we should try writing some lines/acting in a way/filming some scenes/choreographing some action/etc. that doesn't suck?"
CW doesn’t disappoint. With Batwoman, Supergirl, and other disasters cancelled, I was worried the supply of awesome CW-trashing reviews would dry up. Glad to see bankruptcy didn’t teach them anything!
But, I love Titans, Star Girl, the final season of Supergirl and the final season of Legends. For me, they are not disasters. I hope at least they will make an episode to conclude Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow.

Theoretically the bank could scan the bills handed out by the atm, tracking which bills get handed out at which transaction. Then when the cops look at a database with transactions and see all the money comes from transactions from Whatshisface's bankaccount.

i've been in a 6 story building(it was on a hill so effectively about 10 stories) with a shattered window(birdstrike in an old building) you could hear the wind on the otherside of the building with fire doors inbetween
So Tim Drake didn't show, Jason Todd didn't, Dick Greyson didn't, and Barbara Gordon didn't show... None of the Justice League members nor Alfred showed up to Bruce Wayne's funeral. It's like if you read the source material you can't write for the CW. Also, the Joker's Daughter's full name is Drula Dent... so Harvey has some explaining to do
Actually, it’s *Duella* Dent… in the comics, she was a hero from the beginning. She was also Two-Face’s daughter, but called herself the Joker’s Daughter (and played it up in costume) so people wouldn’t know who she really was.

In Pre-Crisis she was one who wanted to attone for the sins of her father and joined the Teen Titans. In Post-Crisis she actually was the Joker's dauther (though this was the Joker from Earth-3). In the New 52 she was a villain who had no relation to any Batman villian.
@DragonmasterCire , the New52 Joker's Daughter never had the name Duela Dent. She was just a crazy girl who lived in the sewers and wore the Joker's skin/face. I don't recall the villain version of the character and found the Earth-3 version to be a lame one-off that didn't come anywhere near the fun of the original.
I'm so sick of everybody KILLING BATMAN... The Arkham games did it, now the CW has done it... TWICE NO LESS. I realize the world is definitely that much emptier without Kevin Conroy, who, for the record is not only the voice of Batman but THE SOUL OF BATMAN too, but we must move on. It is inevitable that there will be another Batman,,,, I just pray to Tyler that it IS NOT TURNER. Ah who am I kidding? Remember the story of the man who robbed a bank and was astonished to be arrested shortly afterwards? He reportedly said “but I wore the juice!” Turns out, he believed that lemon juice, usable as invisible ink, made his face invisible to the security cameras. The show writers also suffer from the lemon juice delusion.
So I’m confused bruce was supposedly going to cut his adopted son out of the will, yet clearly gave him at minimum $100k in a personal bank account. Seems like a stretch to believe he wouldn’t be willing to give him an inheritance
Cat Bert he wasn't going to cut him out of the will, he was going to make some adjustments to it though. Because he never got to do it, the frame on Turner is that he was gonna be cut off, or was afraid he was going to be cut off, and killed Bruce Wayne.

it bothers me way too much they call that fake shiny looking leather couch a 17th century (1600's!!!) couch. There's zero chance that thing would even be from the 19th century. im so upset about this couch I couldn't ever watch this show. which is great because i love these reviews.
That’s the 1600’s. I don’t think they had couches. The closest I’ve seen when touring a historical home or castle is a wooden bench. Maybe they had straw stuffed seat cushions for it. Textiles don’t survive that well. Waiting for the 17th century barko lounge chair . . .
The Court of Owls is the BEST addition to the Batman Mythos from the New 52 Comics (a mostly big floppy failure except Batman's comics by Scott Snyder). Their nursery rhymes were meant to be a warning to the old settlers that became taken as kids stories by present day gothamites. They're so powerful, so good at what they do, that not even BATMAN believed they were real (as a kid, he couldn't believe his parents died by chance to some nobody thug Joe Chill so he looked into the nursery rhyme, found a believed secret location of the court of owls, but was trapped in an empty room for 1 week, until being saved by Alfred). What makes this storyline absolutely INCREDIBLE is the mystery of if they were real, Batman's realization that the gotham he believed was his wasn't, and how the court of owls almost destroyed Batman's mind, body, and spirit. This was a long winded way of saying STOP FUCKING UP BATMAN STUFF YOU HACK WRITERS.

I'm okay with Castiel in the show, no problem at all, but he looks to be playing Jim Gordon, or Detective Bullock, NOT fucking Harvey Dent! The real world doesn't work on LA Law rules, the lawyers don't go to crime scenes!
Both Earth-3 Joker and Two-faced are crime fighters, and Duella isn't a villain. It's the same as Batwoman where they just use the names and nothing else so you'll thinking you'll see this character.
Lawers MIGHT go to a crime scene as part of trial prep so they can get a 'real world' feel for the crime or PR. but they wouldn't go anywear near it until the CSI teams were finished with it which would probaly be months before the DA even gets the trail paperwork

This show reminds me of Pretty Little Liars in one particular way: Once, somebody asked me why I referred to the show as "Pretty Little Fucktards." I told them that the show was about a bunch of teenagers who keep getting into trouble. When they get in trouble, pause the show and think of the worst possible thing you could do in the situation they are in. I promise, they'll come up with something dumber.
It's so cute that the CW thinks that a killer can only have a single motive. You can't kill out of money and revenge that's insane... Is that really what this writer thinks? Like the writer is attempting to look smart but word of advice don't try that again. It doesn't work. Is having zero basic critical thinking part of the criteria to get a job at CW? Like from a detectives POV Joker's daughter could kill Batman out of revenge and for money at the same time and her response would just get a response of are you stupid? They don't contradict each other. Say she wanted money for something and had a grudge against batman. A detective could easily put 2 and 2 together and say she wanted money for X reason and than got the added bonus or motivation of also getting her revenge or vice versus. Serial killers/murderers often have combinations of reasons for killing someone. A combo of trauma and a need for motherly or fatherly love. Or maybe a combo of being angry at being hit and their wife sleeping with another man etc. Oh yes judge I can't have killed my wife as 2 detectives said I had 2 different motives for doing it. That just proves I just can't have killed her. Judge just deadpan stares at me.
I mean, it's not like there is a famous line associated with the Joker that goes "If you're good at something, never do it for free," or something like that. These writers make sea sponges seem bright.
Even the money and revenge thing, taking someones money could be PART of the revenge, you could be taking their money AS revenge get caught half-way through and killed them to avoid a prison sentence. There are so many reason those 2 motives could go together its unreal
To be fair, sometimes in detective fiction it does happen: the killer's motive has always been revenge, but they take some money from the scene to mask it as a robbery-gone-wrong.

The showrunners must believe in the principles of entanglement in quantum mechanics: if you know the position of 1 policeman, you don't know where his partner is. If you see a handbag thrown, you don't see where it lands (or who it hits). BTW, revealing that you too have a vertical mouse implies that you have a bat computer as well. No wonder you can pick apart all that's wrong with this episode!

Those (I will not call them writers) that write this kind of characters do not understand how people work. They think that making a violent psychopath appear quirky and sarcastic will somehow make sane people forget that they're a monster.
The scene I laughed hard at was when Bat Boy was trying to steer the truck. At one point it shows the front of the truck while he's trying to steer it but you can see he's not in the shot and the truck's bars magically are replaced with a window. Also, Batman dying before Harvey becomes Two Face is just so wrong on many levels. Then you got Joker banging some rando... That is just lazy writing and something Joker wouldn't care to do ever. I could only watch the episode until the under 100 lbs girl shows up and starts tossing dudes over 200 lbs around like they're nothing.

Good god, that looks even worse that we expected.... the most insulting thing is that anybody would believe those three miserable teens could have killed Batman!!! Not to mention how the lad never noticed how Bruce disappeared every night and was often covered in cuts and bruises... or why Harvey Dent is not Two-Face at this moment?
The worst fault in this show is that Bruce took in THREE orphans (Well to be fair I don't really know if Tim Drake was an orphan; but I'm including him because he fit in with the young sidekick theme) AND actually HAS a biological son and CW writers chose to invent Turner to represent Bruce Wayne's son.
Harper and Colin Row are actually existing characters but you can be forgiven for not knowing about them, they appeared like 5 years ago, and the DC wiki entry on them is minuscule. They are basically just stray kids who started to imitate Robin or something, and Colin I think died pretty soon. Harper has some hero name but I think she has no costume even. I looked her up because she was in Young Justice as a classmate and love interest to Halo, but she has yet to fight crime at all.

The sad thing is I don't even believe the writers have legitimate daddy issues, they just wish they did. I'd bet most if not all of them had middle-to-upper class upbringings and hate their parents not for actual abuse but because they were spoiled.

I don't normally care about race changes of characters, but I remember that instead of Carrie Kelly, the story could have used black Bat Family members instead. Namely, a version of Tiffany Fox or Tam Fox (the latter a friend of Tim Drake). Being the child of Lucius Fox (who runs Bruce Wayne's research and development), Tamara could have been written as a computer genius who, like Lucius, was privy to the secret of Bruce Wayne being Batman, working as an Oracle/Robin hybrid.

Killing Batman is one of those things you need to be really careful about. How believable is it for Batman to be murdered by a bunch of kids using 1 gun? I know they’re being framed in the show but it’s still quite stupid for the cops to believe it

Gotham Knights CW series turned out to be even worse than the trailers showed it to be! Featuring a stunning 33% on rotten tomatoes it has everything, from fight choreography mistakes, "smart" retorts that make no sense, a laughable bat computer and humiliating Batman and his son. By the time I got to the police interview scenes I couldn't believe what I was watching and every new line was more laughably over the top than the last. If this is the Pilot episode 1 of CW's Gotham Knights, the rest of the DC series could be out of this world! But what did you think of what you saw? this is because there's two Batman. The first Batman has a hard time outthinking Riddler, Joker, Penguin, and Clayface, but always comes out on top in the end. He's a detective fighting street level crime. He uses gadgets, spends sleepless nights fighting psychopaths, and it takes a heavy toll on his psyche and body. All the while, the corrupt government, police, and justice system make his life harder. He fights arguably the best roster of villains (matched only by Spiderman's - coincidentally, Marvel's best seller), lives in a city so dark and organic it could be an urban reflection of Hell, and he uses his mind and tools and relentlessness to push back against an indefatiguable evil. He's joined by amazing sidekicks, from Gordon to Dick, Barbara, and Selina, and he looks sexy as all hell. He could totally die to a street level thug if he switched off for just a moment... but he never does, because HE'S BATMAN!! The most exciting hero imaginable.
Then there's Justice League Batman, who's a mary sue with prep time, and has Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Superman job to him because his comic book sales are higher. His superpower is that other superheroes become dumber around him, despite the fact Flash can flick him in the ballsack in 0.00001 seconds with enough force to liquify his pelvis, and Superman can rip Batman's arms off 0.00001 seconds before he moves his hand a millimetre toward the kryptonite ring in his belt. Even when he almost kills the JL in Babel / JL Doom, he won't be the one to apologize because he's too big of a prick. Other leaguers are terrified of him, as shown in JLU and Young Justice, and he's frankly one of the most boring heroes imaginable.
Depends on who writes Bats is either equal or better than luthor.
Even if Willow gets cancelled, we can always rely on the CW to supply us with Grade A Cringe Content.

Got to love the fact that despite them being happy to introduce new characters who don't come from the comics, they still felt the need to raceswap a ginger, Carrie Kelley, by casting a black actress, rather than just making her one of the new characters. Not only is it annoying for fans who prefer faithful adaptations, it's rude to black people because once again they apparently only deserve hand-me-down, raceswapped white characters, and it's detrimental to the claimed goal of increasing diversity - Batman's adoptive son here, Turner Hayes, doesn't exist in the comics, but you can bet he'll now show up there sooner or later. If they'd given the black actress her own, brand new character, there's every likelihood that said character would have transferred over to the comics, increasing the diversity quotient there too.

It's truly remarkable how the CW has, for years, been able to consistently release cringe-inducing shit show after cringe-inducing shit show without anyone of those people ever saying, "wait...hang on guys. Are we really doing it THIS way? Maybe we should try writing some lines/acting in a way/filming some scenes/choreographing some action/etc. that doesn't suck?"

But, I love Titans, Star Girl, the final season of Supergirl and the final season of Legends. For me, they are not disasters. I hope at least they will make an episode to conclude Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow.

Actually, it’s *Duella* Dent… in the comics, she was a hero from the beginning. She was also Two-Face’s daughter, but called herself the Joker’s Daughter (and played it up in costume) so people wouldn’t know who she really was.

In Pre-Crisis she was one who wanted to attone for the sins of her father and joined the Teen Titans. In Post-Crisis she actually was the Joker's dauther (though this was the Joker from Earth-3). The Court of Owls is the BEST addition to the Batman Mythos from the New 52 Comics (a mostly big floppy failure except Batman's comics by Scott Snyder). Their nursery rhymes were meant to be a warning to the old settlers that became taken as kids stories by present day gothamites. They're so powerful, so good at what they do, that not even BATMAN believed they were real (as a kid, he couldn't believe his parents died by chance to some nobody thug Joe Chill so he looked into the nursery rhyme, found a believed secret location of the court of owls, but was trapped in an empty room for 1 week, until being saved by Alfred). What makes this storyline absolutely INCREDIBLE is the mystery of if they were real, Batman's realization that the gotham he believed was his wasn't, and how the court of owls almost destroyed Batman's mind, body, and spirit.
This was a long winded way of saying STOP FUCKING UP BATMAN STUFF YOU HACK WRITERS.

Okay, clearly the show's writers don't give the slightest fuck about any sort of continuity... but, Duella, last name DENT, is from another dimension, where Joker and Harvey Dent had a child. Oh, and one of them, I think it was Harvey... was female, and a crime fighter...
On top of that, HARVEY DENT is a LAWYER! Not a cop! I'm okay with Castiel in the show, no problem at all, but he looks to be playing Jim Gordon, or Detective Bullock, NOT fucking Harvey Dent! The real world doesn't work on LA Law rules, the lawyers don't go to crime scenes!
Both Earth-3 Joker and Two-faced are crime fighters, and Duella isn't a villain. It's the same as Batwoman where they just use the names and nothing else so you'll thinking you'll see this character.

Lawers MIGHT go to a crime scene as part of trial prep so they can get a 'real world' feel for the crime or PR. but they wouldn't go anywear near it until the CSI teams were finished with it which would probaly be months before the DA even gets the trail paperwork

This show reminds me of Pretty Little Liars in one particular way: Once, somebody asked me why I referred to the show as "Pretty Little Fucktards." I told them that the show was about a bunch of teenagers who keep getting into trouble. When they get in trouble, pause the show and think of the worst possible thing you could do in the situation they are in. I promise, they'll come up with something dumber.
It's so cute that the CW thinks that a killer can only have a single motive. You can't kill out of money and revenge that's insane... Is that really what this writer thinks? Like the writer is attempting to look smart but word of advice don't try that again. It doesn't work. Is having zero basic critical thinking part of the criteria to get a job at CW? Like from a detectives POV Joker's daughter could kill Batman out of revenge and for money at the same time and her response would just get a response of are you stupid? They don't contradict each other. Say she wanted money for something and had a grudge against batman. A detective could easily put 2 and 2 together and say she wanted money for X reason and than got the added bonus or motivation of also getting her revenge or vice versus.
Serial killers/murderers often have combinations of reasons for killing someone. A combo of trauma and a need for motherly or fatherly love. Or maybe a combo of being angry at being hit and their wife sleeping with another man etc. Oh yes judge I can't have killed my wife as 2 detectives said I had 2 different motives for doing it. That just proves I just can't have killed her. Judge just deadpan stares at me.
I mean, it's not like there is a famous line associated with the Joker that goes "If you're good at something, never do it for free," or something like that.

Even the money and revenge thing, taking someones money could be PART of the revenge, you could be taking their money AS revenge get caught half-way through and killed them to avoid a prison sentence. There are so many reason those 2 motives could go together its unreal
To be fair, sometimes in detective fiction it does happen: the killer's motive has always been revenge, but they take some money from the scene to mask it as a robbery-gone-wrong.
With how they write human and their interaction i dont think CW even hire humans to write this.

There's something very poetic about this show literally killing Batman 2 minutes in.....
The scene I laughed hard at was when Bat Boy was trying to steer the truck. At one point it shows the front of the truck while he's trying to steer it but you can see he's not in the shot and the truck's bars magically are replaced with a window.
Also, Batman dying before Harvey becomes Two Face is just so wrong on many levels.
Then you got Joker banging some rando... That is just lazy writing and something Joker wouldn't care to do ever.

Harper and Colin Row are actually existing characters but you can be forgiven for not knowing about them, they appeared like 5 years ago, and the DC wiki entry on them is minuscule. They are basically just stray kids who started to imitate Robin or something, and Colin I think died pretty soon. Harper has some hero name but I think she has no costume even. I looked her up because she was in Young Justice as a classmate and love interest to Halo, but she has yet to fight crime at all.

I don't normally care about race changes of characters, but I remember that instead of Carrie Kelly, the story could have used black Bat Family members instead. Namely, a version of Tiffany Fox or Tam Fox (the latter a friend of Tim Drake).
Being the child of Lucius Fox (who runs Bruce Wayne's research and development), Tamara could have been written as a computer genius who, like Lucius, was privy to the secret of Bruce Wayne being Batman, working as an Oracle/Robin hybrid.
They also could have used Duke, who is still a fairly new character to tge franchise. There already are black characters in the Batman mythos and yet they _still_ race-swapped Carrie for no reason.
