So lucky. Went to see Roger Walters do the whole of the Wall album in concert at the O2 arena in 2011 and he brought Dave Gilmour out on stage

It wasn't German it was Scottish accented English ("you, yes, you behind the bike sheds, stand still laddie"). I've said it before and I'll say it again, this album needs to be listened to on vinyl. There's none of those horrible stops fucking up the flow as the merge into each other. Also, you don't get the secret message (backwards track) in the Empty Spaces, track. With vinyl you put it on the turntable and run it backwards with your finger. Also, on vinyl you're less prone to missing the opening and closing sentence. At the beginning, "we came in". At the end, "Isn't this where". There's a lot of tricks and effects that got lost when vinyl became passe. Everyone of note was at it. 60's/70's everyone was on acid.

Cool dude, it's such a deep look into the Mental Health of this fictional character and the pressures put on him by those around him and the Music Industry.
There's a really hard to hear sentence split over the start and end of the album.
At the start you get "... we came in"
And terrifyingly the album ends with "Isn't this where..."
Turning the album into a repeating cycle which sadly is a recurring thing when it comes to abuse. So the entire album challenges the listener to recognise and break such cycles and be better people.
Pink Floyd doing what Pink Floyd do best!

What an emotional rollercoaster Phil, I'll be honest I wasn't expecting what I heard. In the next parts you'll see my reaction more but what a journey this album took me on. I'm still processing it. One thing I can say, is its amazing

Two points: (1) I'm sure you know there is a movie version that came out around '81-'82 starring Bob Geldof & directed by Alan Parker (Fame,Angel Heart, Mississippi Burning). (2) The concert tour supporting this album was so elaborate that they only played in two cities in the U.S. -NYC & LA.

Fantastic reaction, with great thought application. I've been waiting for your full album reaction since I said 'Let's be honest you will listen to the whole album' 🙂
One thing to note regarding the listening volume - I had to turn up the soundtrack volume to 50% and then turn down your voiceover commentary to 20% volume. I don't know how to fix that but I hope this helps for your future recordings. God bless, from New Zealand.

Haha you called it! And man the album is just an emotional rollercoaster I have to say. My apologies for the volume issues, for the next parts I've made sure to turn my volume down and the music up! Peace and love

@@StillColour my Dad was from Walthamstow and my Mum from Surrey. Are you near one of those places. I visited last time back in the 90s. Met my grandmother for the first time when I was 19.

Cool reaction. As mentioned the album volume was too low , your voice way louder. The ' german' voice was the Scottish teacher shouting at the kids lol I'm near Glasgow and most of the world can't understand us so no worries lol. It's a brilliant but sometimes emotionally draining album . Along with Dark Side of the Moon it makes you think deeply about life

Thanks for giving this a watch Paul and for the Scottish knowledge, I need to spend more time up north obviously haha! Sorry about the tech issues, for the next parts I've made sure to turn myself down and the music up. The Album is definitely a emotional ride I felt so many feelings listening to it. Incredible

Roger Waters wrote the lyrics. In real life, his father was killed in WWII, fighting in Italy when he was little. And his grandfather was killed in WWI when his father was little.

@@StillColour It helps to understand PF's history to understand this album. Also, the album is inspired by the group was still dealing with the lost of their key member/leader Syd Barrett to schizophrenia (The Dark Side of the Moon & Wish You Were Here LPs was also dealt with mental illness).

It was a shame the volume level of the music was pretty low but subsequently your talking volume really high which made it very hard to listen to, sorry bro.,
