There was a time when we used to travel long distances on 100 & 150 CCs. Now people are not satisfied with a 200 CC. I believe riding is all about passion and the bore size doesn't really matter. Of course we need to take more breaks on a lighter motorcycles, but that is the fun part of it right?
Hero Xpulse is vfm. Hero engines maybe not very powerful...but their refinement, reliability, availability of cheap spare parts, low maintainence is always better than others.
I have had test ride of this bike...Overall this bike is the most VFM bike in the segment.... Ride quality is very good! Yes there are some quality issues like footpegs, Rear brake lever aren't of good quality and feel ill-fit. Also cables from the front wheels aren't neatly tucked. if anyone wants an off-road bike in extremely tight budget, this is the only option!!
Perhaps the export models are different, but the 2019 Himalayan I bought in the U.S. has been flawless. I'm a bit bigger than the average Indian guy, so the weight of the bike was less noticeable for me. I was so impressed, in fact, that I just bought a Classic 500 as well. For me, Indian craftsmanship is excellent.
The reason is Hero has always failed to succeed in the performance bike segment that's why they have tried to put their 200cc bike's price agaisnt the rest of the 150-160cc bikes in the market.
The himalayan will climb up steep inclines fairly easily, but imagine a situation where you fall while climbing a steep incline! ( which is 95% likely to happen). It's then when you realise that the ADV being light matters more than having character.
@@adibabutriparagiri2844 reliability is where hero shines in india... They are easy to maintain... They are abuse friendly motorcycles... The spare parts costs are cheap as well...
5 year or up to 75000 km warranty, light weight, no body pain, no weight lifting and 129000 on road for ABS FI varient. No way for Himalayan unless they reduce price and improve quality.
Himalayan’s heavy weight is such a big turn off . It seriously needs to go on a diet . Where as xpulse needs more torque ( not bhp ) but it’s weight makes up for it . I would go with the Xpulse for those trail riding in coffee estates of Coorg . Cheap to maintain and repair . Easy to pick up when you fall and no ones around to help . Xpulse has more going for it than Himalayan.

My friends Himalayan's engine had an issue so even his was changed FOC in around a months time. But this was when the first batch of Himalayans were made. Only a few know... but my friend uses it everyday and 99% of the time it is okay. Being RE, you cannot expect Honda quality.. Or even Hero quality, however, their quality is improving... slowly...
I have booked Himalayan but recently I went on trip with my old Classic 350cc to Zigzag roads of Sikkim. I found it very challenging to lead the steep curves due to bike's heavy weight and that's when I got caught attention of my decision to buy Himalayan. Now am considering buying Hero Xpulse thus cancelling by booking for RE. Any comments on this would be highly appreciated.
I have a Himalayan since more than a year...i haven’t found a single problem on performance and the bike performed more then I expected on off road ... and the people who talk shit about Himalayan are the people who never owned or ridden one for a while.. they just talk watching RUclips videos which are noobs... ps: i have a bs4 and hats off to the bike🙌🏼
Give the xpulse a bigger engine , a bigger tank and it will certainly shine out of the two . Given Hero is known for their reliability and affordability, it is always a viable choice
The whole idea of adventure / enduro / dual purpose motorcycles is to be light and be happy to be trashed at trails! X-pulse wins for me on it. Ofcourse I'm not taking either of these on the highway. Hi, Autocar India, it's really good to watch the comparison between Hero Could & Royal Enfield Himalayan. You can watch video series of s Dutch woman named Ms.Norlay, who is riding Himalayan bike from India to Holland & she named the bike Basanti. Currently she is in Turkey. The video series is Itchy-Boots & currently is streaming on RUclips. By watching her, one can easily understand why Himalayan bike is the best affordable off-road motorcycle.
When RE launches Himalayan 650, it will be a complete package but a seat height increase is needed because while doing offroads a higher seat height is always preferable.
I have hero xtreme sports ... It's been 4 years and almost no complaints 0 - 60 is faster than this 200 takes around 4.5 sec for my 70 kg body weight ... 0 to 100 is almost same .14 to 15 sec .. the maintenance is very cheap but i never use hero oil ..rather motul . Its been 4 years and is still under warranty.. 5 years and 1 lakh km
Loved the Himalayan Since It was Luanched. But It's 2019 and RE have Not yet Installed LED Headlights And Taillights Setup on the Himalayan, Disappointing indeed
I thought the same, but do you actually like white circular headlights? When the headlight is circular there's no better colour than yellow. Come on, you have to agree. Anyways if you want white then it just costs around 1200,I mean a good quality one, so I don't see it as an issue. Happy Riding!
Himalayan has always had LED tail lamps, right from day one. About the Headlamp, i would rather have a well focused halogen lamp than an LED unit, which are mostly 6000k and pretty much useless in rain and foggy condition or even newly tarred roads for that matter. Also in case you break it when going off road, its cheaper to replace as well. Instead of all that I would honestly prefer a lil lighter bike with 5-10ps more from the engine.
I own a Himalayan bs4, bought it on 2nd January 2018. I have ridden it now for almost 18000 km and no way the maintenance is expensive, oil change is at 10000km, because of 5 free services given to me maintenance was no more than 3500 till now fucking believe it or not sometimes even I can't, the only problem I found with it was the breaks and absolutely nothing except that. Riding on highways is soo perfect for people who don't prioritise too much speed, 100kmph cruising I believe is the safest in India. Off-road is very comfortable, I'm 6ft tall and a bit heavy so that does help. It's the best royal enfield bike(excluding the twins)
Noraly took a Himalayan from India to Netherlands. With over 30k distance on the odo I will digress from most of the comments down here that it isnt a reliable motorcycle. Additionally, it looks great with an all metal body and rugged design.
RE Himalayan takes the cake when you're planning to do long distances with unknown/bad roads with a pillion and lots of luggage while xpulse is more of a solo riders bike which performs well in city as well while RE in city is Hahaha
The only issue I have with my HIMALAYAN is that it tends to get hot real quick specially in hot summer and in heavy traffic the front break is also very full for highway cruising but for offeroading it's perfect.
Can anyone comment on the highway stability of the XPulse. As in if heavy vehicle passes by will XPulse be able to hold its ground? Also will it be comfortable to do cross country touring with luggage on it?
While I would love the higher torque (tractor that can chug away at any terrain) of the Himalayan... the weight is a HUGE factor when you are exhausted and trying to pick up a fallen bike on a tricky hill slope. It's also a factor while crossing mountain streams that have temporary bamboo bridges and are built to carry one man with a head load. Only thing really against the Xpulse ... why didn't they go tubeless? Its light enough to get it and it should be a HUGE help where the nearest tire repair guy is 70kms away on the worst roads (3.5 hrs travel time). Am sure if Hero could just make it tubeless.... with its less maintenance and reliability.... it's the perfect bike for our BSF jawans in remote areas.
Spoked wheels on Himalayan are justifiably there because of the weight. Alloys could have been put on the Xpulse.. assuming you had a bad enough accident on the Xpulse to bend the alloys with the light weight bike. .. there is no question of temporary repairs, because you will be in the hospital (alive hopefully)... Hero should make it alloy tubeless wheels for remote places
It's possible to have tubeless tyres on spoke wheels too, but it's expensive to build it. Hero clearly wanted to keep the cost low. And there are a lot of methods to convert it into tubeless but it's unlikely to last unless you install a spoke wheels with tubeless support. (which is not on sale as an accessory in India currently)
Do not worry, many solutions are there to make it puncture free, liquid solutions are available and can be bought for 300-600/- rupees only. So, enjoy it with spoke wheels.
I am just wondering abt ppl complaining abt weight of RE, evn other adventure bikes like benelli trk 302, BMW GS 310 are also quite heavy. Plus Himalayan is built for long distance travel where u gonna pack 45-60 kgs of luggage, toolkits, xtra fuel, etc. Xpulse is dual sport bike(kinda like dirt bike with bit more cc, a head light and indicator, pillion seat) Can 200cc haul AVG person of 85kg along with 45-60kg of luggage? Both bike categories are entirely different.
I have classic n standard both, but really only 20000 km total run, i have spent alot of time in workshop, wiring, indicator switches, always stuck in middle
Bhai mereko daily up n down 70 km travel karke office jana padta hai..aap suggest karo na ki kaunsi bike lena chahiye mujhe in terms of riding quality, comfort, milage and offcourse engine reliability. X pulse bs6 (fi+liquid cooling) or FZS V3 BS6
Can you make a review between Benelli Imperiale 400 and Himalayan 411 BS6? I know they fall in different classes but I genuinely wanna buy the better of the two considering the off road and on tarmac performance. I will be touring alot.
Good work team. I have only one question on Himalayan why the silencer fade out so quickly..is there any solution for it. I am planning to buy Himalayan..
Your premise is good, but I drove the xpulse few days back and it was not at all comfortable. We did a bit of off-road on it and it was struggling to get up the slopes. You had to have it in 1st gear all the time to tackle difficult terrain while my BS3 Himalayan riden by my friend had no problem at all. Plus the power that you require comes pretty late, which makes you shifting gears a lot in difficult terrain. Plus as I am tall in xpulse my knees are as high as the tank and it feels like I am in squatting position rather than a adventure bike sitting position. Which makes it scary when you are on loose surface as many a times you got to put your foot down for turn.
Thanks for the comparison between RE Himalayan and Hero Xpulse 200. I have heard Hero is launching a touring kit for Xpluse. Can you inquire with Hero and update us about is it true and if yes what will it include, the tentative launch date and tentative pricing for it.
Hero might be more reliable, but spares will be an issue. Hero doesn't support. Even after a month since launch, the dealers in Nagpur have no idea about Xpulse. And 85-90 kmph cruising speed is what my 7 years old Impulse will do without much ado. So, Xpulse isn't really much of an upgrade 😣
I have seen so many vlogs regarding Himalayan it's ABS which can't be turned off.. could you tell why pro bikers want to turn off ABS in off road situations? I have Himalayan too but totally noob.
Both bikes have good cycling and braking system.. But both bikes still don't have the modern refined engines like the Honda shine atleast!! Xpulse piston makes lots of clutter while Himalayan engine is sluggish in the upper Band too. This is why ktm 200 is still selling good. Honda hornet is also a good bike for youth. Suzuki giks selling reasonably too. Fz 250 is also worth at 1.45 lakhs.. Let's see how the R&D of Hero and RE do improvements to their bikes..
As an nri visiting India for a few months. I would consider the hero. Only because it has a 200cc engine. Less pricey and it's no secret that Indian roads are shit and the constructions going on basically turns every road into an offroad track. If its comfortable enough I'd go with it. Kaam chalao bike.

What about the ABS..?? IS IT SWITCHABLE..??
Xpulse price and maintenance is👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. But i don’t own one😂😂😂🤣🤣🙏🏼
Tell me the place where this video has been shooted?
At long last, a good video that isn’t just a boring old first drive!!
Are Dampers on a Adventure bike worth it .???
I want a first motorcycle.. Will the xpulse fit in well ?
Thanks for the comparison between RE Himalayan and Hero Xpulse 200. I have heard Hero is launching a touring kit for Xpluse. Can you inquire with Hero and update us about is it true and if yes what will it include, the tentative launch date and tentative pricing for it.
What is the helmet of the Himalayan rider?
Are Dampers on a Adventure Bike Worth having ??? ( After market Dampers if the bike doesn't have by Sock ) !!!
Much awaited video
No offense but I love Honda off-road bikes , XR , CRF , RALLY . PLZ DO REVIEW THESE BIKES TOO. LOVE FROM NEPAL.
They are not available in India.
Where is this off-road location near Pune??
U make a beautiful video. But both bike's are have 120 mm rear tyre . But why hero rear tyre is looks thinner then Himalaya ???
To be compared with Himalayan this bike must be good
Impressive from impulse
Is it possible to adjust the seat height to 800 mm
Hero should launch a 300cc xpulse
310 cc and I'm waiting
Please make a comparison review between KTM 390 adv vs Honda 400X
I have seen so many vlogs regarding Himalayan it's ABS which can't be turned off.. could you tell why pro bikers want to turn off ABS in off road situations? I have Himalayan too but totally noob.
Abs fails while braking in off-road situations.
A bike is everyones dream and it must be selected by there 🔛
Waiting for 2019 duster review
Can anyone tell the location showed in this video?
Beautiful bikes they even seem to be sisters
The beast is coming to challenge both wild wolf.. ✨🐼✨
As an nri visiting India for a few months. I would consider the hero. Only because it has a 200cc engine. Less pricey and it's no secret that Indian roads are shit and the constructions going on basically turns every road into an offroad track. If its comfortable enough I'd go with it. Kaam chalao bike.
