I’d like to point out that I’m always in riding pants and boots when I’m on a motorcycle. As some people have pointed out, you may well feel more heat if you ride in thin sneakers - or less protective footwear.

As for people not in the business , they always think of it as a single take impromptu video.

I really appreciate you giving figures like mileage, 0-100, 60-0 etc. Those are the things manufacturers don't include in the specs and as a viewer we need help from you and almost all reviewers are getting lazy to do that. Thank you for including those useful things rather than saying good power or good mileage like every other reviewers.

Eagerly waiting for the tubeless spoke wheels to be available. Not picking up the bike until then. My luggage is very minimal and around 12kgs out of which almost 4kgs is tubes and tools to change tubes. With the tubeless spoke wheels I can ditch even more weight from my luggage and enjoy my riding even more.

Rishaad's bike reviews sound like your best friend and travel buddy telling you about the bike he's riding when we're on a chai-pakora ride and we've reached our destination. All that's missing is him leaning towards you and starting with "Bro, listen...."
At least that's how I feel. Dude's so relatable and one of the main reasons I love watching bike reviews on this channel.
Plus it helps that he's my height and build so i get a good idea of how I'll fit on every bike hahaha.

The concern over low torq over very low fwd speed and eng rpm is valid...But a simple correction called, say, 'electronic idling rpm control' can fix it, considering its an electronically controlled ride by wire mpfi engine...
So, a selectable push button can be installed, to raise the idling to min say 2000 at fwd speeds less than say 10 kmph...when de selected, the idling will dip down to it currently set normal idling value, regardless of fwd speed...Now, how do you like my "patentable idea' ...??
Greetings from a Retd AF jock

The review mentions that this is a big bike, maybe that is true in India. Here in the UK this is nowhere near as big as my Transalp 750 or the Suzuki 800DE, and there are other bikes that are bigger still. It all depends what you are used to. It has a 2" increase in the wheelbase over the 411 and this will help it sell well on the global market. I am waiting for mine to arrive in the UK....and waiting, and waiting and...💤 (Good review BTW, agree about the flasher)

I own an Himalayan 450 and i just have to say that bike is soo good for Indian roads(mostly all of them are offroad because of potholes😅) the comfort level is just too good, showa’s suspension is just 🤌
The bike is good in every aspect with full marks.
It just a minor problem of engine heating in slow traffic it feels a bit uncomfortable at times but i guess will get used to it the more i ride.
I just want to say if you have a decent weight( good muscles ) and height around 5.8 or 5.9 and planning to buy an ADV just go for it without even thinking.

One thing which I was getting a bit agitated about is the amount of gear changing you needed to do in city driving.
Switch to ECO mode and your tractability suddenly improves so much- now no more stalling sounds at 2k rpm even in the 3rd gear !
    Must try guys !

Another brilliant review. Over the years I have filtered down to just 3 people whose professional two wheelers reviews I trust and you I appreciate all three equally well. And you Rishaad are one of those. I love the way you present the whole thing and talk about points a few of your fellow journos miss out on. Back to the bike, Well the Himalayan doesnt disappoint in a lot of ways. I just hope the longetivity and reliability parts are fixed on this one. I think the Roadster would be both less bulky both in terms of looks and weight, and that should find a lot more buyers who are skeptical about handling 196kgs of weight. One major gripe I have about the Himalayan is the tail lamp. I mean how hard could it have been for RE to make a slim unit. I am quite sure the indicators are the first to be damaged on trails and even in cities and driving without a brake light is honestly not recommended. I hope at least a few will come out with aftermarket solution

You Can change the ride modes on the go, need to press the clutch and hold, then change the mode, release the clutch, but this never feel safe on the go ,
Cluster need more improvements in software side
I’m owning Slate Himalayan salt Color, its dual tone seats are not at all comfortable.
RE has made improvements in Engine, gearbox and the overall quality comparing to 411, but they have made few worst things, one is the seating comfort, 411 seats feels the best, but they made its worst here in 450, headlights could have been better, initial Torque should have been maintained

The last comment summed up REs approach and future plans well. I am not a RE fan, never felt the need to own one as the looks and what they offered was not something I look for when buying a motorcycle. But this is the first RE I am seriously interested in purchasing and using it as my daily driver. There might be a lot of RE purists complaining about the brand moving away from "tradition" of air cooled engines and designs harking to vintage styling. To those I point towards Harley Davidson, they are a dying company as they failed to innovate (read running to American government for protection) with time and whenever the company tried anything new the customer base made huge noise as result the brand is dying a slow painful death not to mention poor build quality doesn't help for HD.
RE is taking the right approach, keep the vintage design aesthetics but also try to get new customers in that way the brand will not only survive but will thrive for another 100 years, like Triumph.

The rear view mirrors mentioned that don't reflect glares, are those the touring ones or the standard ones?
