After nearly sixty years of riding, I “retired” my current Ducati 600SS and bought a BS4 Himalayan as my regular ride, with some of the savings for my retirement. Just love this bike, done 10,000kms in two years with ZERO issues (so easy to service and maintain).
Just love this video - if I was a bit younger (and a bit healthier) I would just love to travel to the Himalayas on one of the new bikes, then ship it home to Australia - awesome video (I am so jealous of you guys getting up to Umling La and Ladakh) 😀👍🇦🇺

@@KishanM04 Sorry to say but I am only 75, and all ready know age matters, I still ride a lot and enjoy it, but no longer can ride tall bikes, as just not as flexible, at times. I am very flexible when doing a work out, but after sitting on the bike for a long time stiffen up a lot, would of made a great video of me trying to get off my CRF 300 L the ground was a little uneven and thinking I will have to get back on and find a flat spot to get off. Also our bones are much weaker, Lifting a cabinet that only weighted around 100 lb. it got out of ballance and ended up with a compression fracture, that took over 3 months to heal. I also dropped my DR650 with a 20 liter gas tank and was trapped under it with my food under the exhaust and got a burn in my foot that took three trips to the burn unit three times a week and still took much longer to heal than if I was younger. these all happened to me in the last year or so. My friend age makes a huge difference, I can still ride and do, but lighter and lower bikes. I am glad to see that they are starting to lower a some bikes from the factory like the CRF 300 L and the KTM 650, but not available hear in Canada I have many friends that are younger than I am and there joints have given out, having to get replacement knees and hips. Older people tend to fall a lot more, and the only thing that saves me is I do a lot of stretching and some weight training witch seems to help me from getting injuries. A lot of older people when they fall end up with broken bones, witch take a lot long to heal as you age. Another factor is energy levels, at 64 ran a half marathon to day dough I would even be able to walk that with out taking a couple of breaks. Age dose Matter. We can still enjoy life but not like we did when we were 65 and under.

A little tidbit to drop here: Noraly travelled from Delhi to Netherlands in the first generation Himalayan (which she bought on her own after she loved the Himalayan which she rented in Manali during her first visit to the mighty Himalayas). Then she has explored across various parts of the world in different bikes but now, she's back. Seeing this, RE must've shared a pre-production vehicle to Noraly as she is a Veteran Himalayan Rider/User (she even named her Himalayan as 'Basanti'), which as you guys said is really a smart and grateful gesture from the brand and a pseudo-marketing on how the ADV must be really used.
Man, I'm much more smitten on this sweet machine and respect the people who utilise the machine to its capability 😇

You read all the reviews across multiple brands and bikes, and sometimes find yourself convinced you need something bigger, smaller, or more in some ways, but to this day I think the Himalayan ranks up there in how a bike makes you feel when you travel on it...have high confidence this bike will be a great evolution of that principle, and fair play to Royal Enfield in keeping that concept of what a bike should be alive.

Meteor 350 was my first Royal Enfield bike launched 3 years back during diwali time and 3 years later I am hoping to own my 2nd Royal Enfield in the form of Himalayan 452 . Didn't expect much from my meteor but my first 700kms bike ride was when the meteor surpassed my expectations and delivered what a Royal Enfield bike can do ( I was riding with a pillion) . In those 3 days travel we crossed 180 hairpin bends it includes both uphill and downhill travel. We went to yercaud hill station from there we went to Kolli hills ( famously known as hill of death ; it has 70 hairpin bends) . During all of the journey my meteor ( fireball red) was with me , witnessing every moment I was enjoying. Now that I am planning to go for this new beast of a motorcycle. I can't say what will be the experience when I ride it. Thank you ROYAL ENFIELD ❤️

I'm seriously thinking of trading my 2018 ATAS for one of these and an Interceptor, which I tested in September and absolutely fell in love with. Hurry up and start shipping to France!!

This is such a fantastic introduction to the 452!! Having followed the bike's development through scoops over past 12 months or so, this video hits right in the heart! It is wonderful to see the people who worked on developing the bike actually introduce it with a 5000+ kms ride. This Himalayan is really tempting me out of my cruiser love, the Thunderbird. All the best RE!

3:00 Love the torque curve. The hp goes up as the square of the rpm from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm, right where most people ride. It must be really difficult dealing with cost sensitives and emissions. If I designed the bike it would look like a KTM 1290 Super Adventure with upgraded bits. That nobody could afford and wouldn't pass smog.
