The difference between the jump was 3.5 feet between the two bikes. Kudos to the efforts you guys put in for trying something new to compare these ADVs, but it could have included other important bits as well.
We once compared the two extensively at our private off road track; the xpulse can take a beating and still go on. Himalayan chassis is not that good, xpulse is well made but underpowered.
What happened to the braking test footage? I wish Hero would release a more powerful version of the XPulse as well, because the only letdown I see in an otherwise great package is the slightly underpowered engine, so it might be screaming its lungs out at around 80 km/h, which is a bit conservative.
The Himalayan broke the path for afforadable middleweight ADV motorcycles.. Since its launch continues to lead the pack of other entrants in the space. The bike is undergoing constant upgrading in terms of refinement. Having said that, I think more can be done to squeeze more juice out the engine with the existing block. An aftermarket 462cc and 477cc bore engines are being offered making the bike more exciting than it already is.. Perhaps R.E should consider offering one of the above as an OEM equipment, along with better brakes, a slipper clutch and brighter electrical.
I gotta say,on road with a pillion the xpulse struggles a lot and touches max of 90kph,and on himalayan we hit easy 110kph. You might say the displacement is the reason, but still xpulse throttle cant respond the way you expect and is lethargic!

M glad that hero has employed an oil cooler on a Bs6 xpulse which was badly needed.......This will definitely make the engine a bit more refined smooth and better equipped for off road riding and highways runs...... Engine has to be revved quite a bit to generate power while offloading....... so it has less speed, less forward air for cooling and high revs hence engine heats up like crazy infact I have feeling it will just burn out if kept on revving......I wish they had employed an oil cooler in the first edition itself....But overall the bike is good value for money.....
