    I do not like to hand sew but I do it because I agree with you: the finished product looks so much better and neater if hand sewn. Nice tutorial once again.

      I may be wrong but I have a feeling, she concentrates more on her Half Yard Sewing Club nowadays. It is a monthly subscription you pay for patterns and I think Tutorials. Like a lot of people I do prefer the RUclips Tutorials, I started watching Debbie on here a long time ago as many of us did and loved the videos - sometimes still look at the real oldies LOL, with lovely Alfie in them awww

    Hi Debbie, just seen your mat for sewing machine so I’m trying to make one but having trouble with tension! When I sew on a scrap fabric it’s perfect but as soon as I place my mat with wadding, the bottom tension keeps looping every so often, I don’t understand what is wrong, have changed needles, cleaned machine, re-threaded several times, it’s perfect on several layers of fabrics, What can I do?

    • @debbieshore
      @debbieshore  4 года назад +1

      If the bottom thread is looping it's a top thread problem, don't adjust the tension dial, try re threading making sure the thread goes through all the channels...

      @@debbieshore ok, thank you Debbie I’ve managed to finish the mat and had made the machine cover couple months ago, very pleased with the outcome as a newbie at 66! Thank you for showing how it’s done, clear instructions, looking forward to my next project! Watched your video of this morning, thank you 🤗

    This may be answered by the time I get to the end of the tutorial, but if edges are straight why would you need bias binding?

    • @m0ther0ne
      @m0ther0ne 4 года назад

      You don’t need to use bias binding, but as you can buy it ready made, as the one Debbie used, its just convenient to use.

    • @jwhite3028
      @jwhite3028 4 года назад

      To encase all the raw edges

    • @wanitagons4269
      @wanitagons4269 4 года назад

      You’re quite right. It’s all straight lines so I’m sure you could use strips of a matching fabric, same as for edging a quilt. I suppose bias was used for convenience 🙂

    • @debbieshore
      @debbieshore  4 года назад +2

      Answers below correct, the binding doesn't have to be bias, I just happen to have quite a few rolls of it!
