From 2010 to 2021, Ben Richey was the exclusive house musician at top-rated and internationally awarded winery Bowers Harbor Vineyards located on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City Michigan.
Over 400 songs fill his playbook with a wide variety of genres spanning 70 years of music.
Also been deemed the house musician for large scale companies, namely SteelCase and Priority Health of Michigan.
Guitar: 2009 Wechter Pathmaker Elite with D'Addario ebony pegs, D'Addario auto-trim tuners and Abel Armrest.
Strings: Optima 24K Gold e/b with either Black Diamond Black Coated wound or GHS ThinCore wounds or D'Addario PB
Effects: Line6 POD, Boss RC50 looper
Vocals: ART tube preammp/compressor
Mixer/Amp: Soundcraft GigRac 1000
Cajon has an internal mounted kick drum mic into an ART tube preamp
Recorded direct out of the mixer into a Zoom recorder and blended ~20% with the ambient GoPro audio.

I love all the cover but solo omgg
That solo was better than most players can do with an electric guitar, distortion and a whammy bar. Unreal!
The 22 fret Whecter helps, plays like an electric with custom 10-45 strings. Wish I had a whammy bar on it though!!
it definetely doesnt sound as a good as an electric with distortion and a tremolo system, but it wasnt bad for a one man act
Ben's phrasing is so close to the way Dime played it. That's what makes this so good. Check out other YT covers of this solo. Ola Englund comes pretty close to perfection, but most people make a mess of the phrasing.

Being live, had to start with the rhythm recording loop for the solo. Since I spent time with that section already, left out the interlude instrumental section. I’d like to record another live version, of which I’ll leave out the recording loop intro for RUclips and post a true version of the song.

I hear ya. Playing this particular song at a winery was a little intimidating to be honest. I’m sure most customers had no idea what it was though ha. This venue is pretty relaxed overall, a little too relaxed.
