Pantera was never grunge...they pretty much invented groove metal. Lamb of God and other such bands wouldnt exist without Pantera blazing the trail. Some will say Megadeth is groove metal...thats just a song here and there, none had Phils soulful New Orleans sound mixed with 3 Texans who know how to rock out.
