It's not the tone that's bad, guys. It's the fuzzyness or static sound from the recording. I'm pretty sure he fixed that in later recordings. Go watch some of his more "recent" videos for better audio quality. Kenny, keep making Pantera covers for our enjoyment. We actually love them!

Da Subtitles123 just ran this video through a frequency analyzer and results were shocking, the lows were slightly ok around -2 dB from normal, the mids were, NON EXISTENT, where did the space for the mids go then?
I then analyzed the highs and came to a SHOCKING conclusion, the highs were over 9000 dB and I just pulled those numbers from my ass because everyone knows this is a shitty guitar tone. Nice playing though.

Been plying for over 25 years. Anyone who questions his ton,or how high the mids or lows are,they're just jealous this guy can play better than them on a low price rig. Shut the fuck up haters,this guy is amazing when it comes to playing Dimebag. And Dimebag would tell you this guy is awesome. If you knew anything about metal,you would know that Mettalica started the style back in the day(yes they suck now-but anyway) that you turn down the mids and go up on the highs and lows. Know what the fuck you are talking about before you shoot a great guitar player down because you can't do it.
Matthew Harris yes , he is a good player, but the tone is shity and that is just reallity, no matter who invented it. Just be honest, what do you enjoy more, the tone on the original track, or this tone on this video?
Slaven Usoric Hey man, this guy can't afford everything Dimebag had. He did the best with what he has. And it reminds me of something EVH said in an interview back in the day. He said "For everyone of me,there are 10 guys playing in their garage that will never be discovered". So if this dude can do a SPECTACULAR job with the little rig he has-imagine what he could do with a kickass rig. We should not discourage people that can play at this level because they don have "this" guitar, "this rig", "these pedals"etc. I don't know if you have noticed-but the state of metal today is downright disappointing. So we NEED people like this guy to thrive,use the inspiration,and become our new metal guitar players professionally. Not all of us are born with a silver spoon,nor have the means the get the best gear-but this guy made lemonade out of a tomato.
Matthew Harris dude, this has nothing to do with his rig, it's about his adjustment. I saw kids making guitar covers on a Squier, or a cheap Ibanez GRG model, and their tone was really good, and I fairly doubt that they have a Diezel Mesa Boogie combo amp. This guy plays on a really expensive guitar and it's not the only one he has, just watch his other videos. Really good and expensive guitars, and even if he were playing just on a Rolland practice amp, he could get a really good tone (doesn't have to sound like Dimebag on record, just a good guitar tone, because this tone is horrible). So , either it was his intention to make covers with such a shity tone, so that he could proof that he is really playing the song and not just moving his finger around, or he doesn't know how to get a good tone . I honestly think it was his intention, and I still don't like the tone because it's crap, but as a player, he is fantastic

Hendrix has some really bad tone on some songs,but it's not about the tone,it was about his raw playing power.I usd to be like you-before I made money play8ng guitar-and was worried about what wood the guitar was made from, if it was a bolt on neck or not. EVH made millions with a piece of shit guitar because of the passion he had playing it. You're misiing the forrest for the trees.Enjoy how good this guy is. I can play VH all day long,on a good rig,but I couldn't nail this song in my wildest dreams. He hits the notes, and has timing and rhytm down-give him some much needed credit. Get off of that high horse and remember when you first started playing, like I did when I saw rhe video for Panama-changed my life,and just enoy the shredding. I have known a shitload of guitar players the would LOVE to anil the notes as this guy does,and wouldn't care if he was plaing through a Pignose amp. Get backt to the roots I say.
Slaven Usoric Tone varies from player to player-we all know this(or should). You can pick up my guitar after I just jammed-play the EXACT same thing,and it wouldn't sound the same. And that is beside the point! Why are you trying to bring a budding musician down by leaving such negative comments about his tone? He hasn't found his "brown sound" yet. Instead of pointing out,in a malicious way, everything he is doing wrong-why not say "Hey that was AWESOME,if you want to make it sound really good-) and then give him a helping hand by telling him how to set up his rig and all of his pedals and tone through his amp? As ANY metal fan knows-real metal is dead. We need young dudes and chicks out there trying to recreate what I grew up with,and you too. I am 41, I was an EVH fanatic when I was younger. I am sure when I first started to try and play his songs I sounded like shit. I knew the notes but didn't have the "tone" yet. over the years,with encouragement from other's who knew more than I did-I learned to nail it. All these dang kids here talking smack about the tone. Kenny did all this before DIs and DAWs were affordable, accessible, or hell even operational. Normal computers did not have the resources to handle such things; the lag was UNREPAIRABLE no matter what you did.
