They're one of the best bands you'll ever see live
Truly.
Had the pleasure of seeing them for the fourth time a couple of months ago. Despite their age, they still got the energy.
You gotta remember...these dudes are old lol. They were old when I was young hahaha. But my number 1 favorite band bar none and one of my favorite songs. Bruce sounds like hes got a come though
Saw them a few weeks ago, they still have the same sound and energy
I agree, in cred i ble
Rime of the Ancient Mariner live is a must!
Live flight 666 version please cheers 🍻
Absolutely 100% agree
Live 85 pls
Sing of the Cross in rock in rio 2001 is great too 😎
Live after Death version
One of the greatest live bands of all-time.
Eighteen songs in a row, no break, preformed with pure excellence, for 200 nights on tour, all over the world, for nearly 40 years. Up The Irons!
Check out "Fear of the Dark" and "Sign of the Cross". Both live in Rio.
I’m 57 years old, Iron Maiden is my all time favorite band, and they know how to put on a show. Never once was disappointed with any of their concerts I attended, always thought they were better Live than in Studio, and you’re correct that the energy at their shows is insane. They truly want to entertain their fans, and always delivered. Not a live video, but to kinda get a peak of how they are behind the scenes so to speak watch their music Video “Wasted Years”. The lyrics also are very informative and thought provoking 😉
Up the Irons!!! 🤘
59, them were the daze, i agree TYFYSvc
There hasn't been any bands since Maiden, Priest, Dio, Ozzy, etc in the early 80s( I;m 58 and saw all of them live multiple times) until now. There is an all-female metal band out of Japan called Lovebites that was inspired by these great bands that are putting out masterpiece after masterpiece. The lyrics are in English, this band will blow your mind on how good they are. Their guitar solos/duets are just as good or better than anything I've heard in the 80s. Go down the rabbit hole, if you like Maiden, you will like this. They have a new album coming out in a month called Judgement Day and the song Judgement Day is now available on You Tube. I will not miss this tour if they come here.
My first ever gig 1986 LIVERPOOL UK. I was 12 best ever when Dicko and Harris are on form won't get better live band
58 yr old school metal head kansas city...my fave band they don't make bands like this anymore 1983 piece of mind tour 300 shows in a year...metallica only band that has done that they r the benchmark...seen them 9 times...sound better live than on record up the irons!
Fear of the Dark, Rock in Rio if you really want a taste of what Maiden is like live.
yes!!!!!!
Their most iconic live performance!
Noooooo!!!!!
And "Blood Brothers" from the same show
The whole concert from Rock in Rio 2001 is just incredible!
Probably Maiden’s best song. Phantom of the Opera is a must.
The trooper and aces high are very good live. Live after death is one of my top live albums.
Iron Maiden is one of the few bands that sound just as good live in concert if not better than their albums.
You should check them at Rock In Rio 3, 2001. 20 years after the show from this video, but Bruce still running around like a madman!
Let me tell you
Iron Maiden live isn’t just a concert it’s an experience and it’s absolutely amazing!
I saw them back in the mid 80's and they put on a Phenomenal Show, more like an actual experience!!!😎🤘💯%
One of the best decorations on any metal stage the artistry was and is epic.
My first concert was KISS and I though it was the best when I was just 12 years old.. Until I saw IRON MAIDEN 'S show ,Omg,they Blew me away with their stage show!!!
The vocal in this live is epic and also in albums like "piece of mind" or "somewhere in time"... Very high peaks 🤟
We should get some Number of The Beast from Maiden or Run to The Hills
I like how Run to The Hills comes from both sides.
The Trooper is must watch live. At Rock in Rio.
Yes but I’d say like this, do the studio version first. Trooper is my #1 all time favorite Iron Maiden song I really want her to understand the lyrics.
One of the Godfathers of Metal. Iconic band, legendary voice; what I wouldn't have given to see them live. Up the Irons!
Their still touring dude.
Iron Maiden is a rare band that it seems the longer they are around the more energy they seem to have. Most bands seem to slow down the older they get but not Maiden. The first time I saw them was in 1991 and I saw them last in 2019 and they were still going hard the entire show. Now I'm not saying to do a third reaction to this song but if you want to see them really go for it then you should watch the version from the Flight 666 tour in Toronto. It starts by showing the lead singer Bruce Dickinson landing, hes a licensed pilot, their private 747 jet in Toronto for the show.
I love the Toronto version!!
Lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, is one of the few artists who can sprint and jump around stage while singing and NOT miss a beat or note.. even today as he's much older. He's taken remarkable care of his voice. Please watch more live performances. You'll love all of them.
Usually their live videos are better. I'm seeing them for the 6th time live in 3 weeks. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing this Lilly.
Lilly, great reaction. The reason they are moving on the spot is they were plugged in. Check fear of the dark rock in rio to see em unplugged. Crazy energy at that show and mind blowing video
So cool THAT reaction there is some talent, to 1 of de biggest metalbands outthere for the past 50 years off something like THAT
Oh man! I can’t wait to see Maiden next week!🤘🏽🔥
I wish this line up could have remained constant, finest Iron Maiden video imo
I seen them in Johnstown,PA in 1988 on 2 hits of acid what a blast lol
All Iron Maiden needs to be listen too live!!
Live in concert is where maiden has always shined.Been to many of their concerts over the decades and never once was disappointed.Videos don’t even capture the energy and pure sonic talent from this great band
They excel in live performances!
Fear of the Dark - Rio version is a different level !
Welcome to the world of metal, it starts off great in the studio, and generally reaches a perfection on the stage.
If you watch some of their later gigs, especially post 2000 when they’re a six piece, you’ll see much more movement. I think this was just a smaller stage and they had wires everywhere.
one thing about Iron Maiden. they are a tempo changing band on every song. that's what I love about them
UP THE IRONS 🤘
Yesterday I saw Maiden in Mexico city, an unforgettable experience and this incredible song!!🔥🔥
Seeing them for the first time next July - up the irons!
Great job with your reaction and thoughts on the live performance of Hallowed Be Thy Name from Iron Maiden. Bruce Dickinson has a Amazing Voice and the rest of the Band Rocks 🤘🤘.
YES !
I love how happy you are hearing these songs for the first time
I think she already checked the album version in a earlier video but it's still so cool to see how much happiness the song generates"
If you liked this live version. You should really check out "Fear of the Dark" from Rock in Rio or from Flight 666... you will enjoy!
Steve Harris is the genius behind Iron Maiden. Not only is he one of the best bassists in rock history, but he's a top-notch composer. He's responsible for writing 95%+ of every note you hear from Iron Maiden.
Legend has it there is an alternate dimension where Bruce holds that 'Loooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww' for eternity
Absolutely are!
Im an biased old german Fart Metalhead, so, i am absolute sure, if you havent seen Iron Maiden, Nightwish, original Abba, Mötorhead, AND Micheal Jackson Live...you have missed the best Things in Life. Absolute Professionals with Devotion and lifetime training Lessons, never stop to improve, no Matter Lineup, absolute passioned about the Audience( yes ABBA was an Burner playing with the Emotions off the Audience, and damned loud life, believe me). And yes, not possible any more. Did i mention myself and the Mindset:)?
Great recap young Lady. You hit it, its about former mentioned Points, when Talent meets Devotion and pro Musicmanship, we are blessed if we can expirience the Performance. Been to 4 Maiden Events in the last 37 Years, and all were, for the Time and Sound, simply an Expirience, not an simple listen Live. Get yourself an Ticket, as long as they still breathe:). Sure they dont ran up the Stage all Time in Spandex any more, but still, and once in an Lifetime.
With the wonderful, late Clive Burr on drums.
Iron Maiden are one of those rare bands whose live versions of songs turn out better than their studio versions... Steve Harris (bass) felt that the band had this 'nervous energy' that makes them play w/ urgency on stage, that is not there in the studio. Maiden's 1985 live album 'Live after death' is considered one of the greatest live records in rock & metal... right next to live albums like 'Made in Japan' by Deep Purple and 'Unleashed in the East' by Judas Priest.
I would recommend the live versions of these Iron Maiden songs - 'Fear of the dark' (live in Rio 2001)... 'Wrathchild' (live 1980)... 'Phantom of the Opera' (live 1980)... 'Infinite dreams' (live 1988)... 'Run to the hills' (live 1985)... 'Afraid to shoot strangers' (live 1992)... 'Blood brothers' (live in Rio 2001)... 'The red and the black' (live 2016) 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Love the metal reactions. So happy to see another person experience the joy of great metal music, especially the live performances. One day you should attend a Metallica or Maiden or any great metal band concert in person. There’s nothing like it 🤘🔥🤘
It is interesting to watch their old shows compared to later ones. Here the guitarist stood pretty stationary, except when they climbed up and down those stairs. Think it was them being cool. Now when you see them they are all over having a great time. Should check out Fear of the Dark live in Rio to see a great later performance.
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
The bass at the end is Just epic.
This music in live version Rock in Rio Brasil 2001 IS Very much intense!
Fear of the dark. Live in Rio
I was a teen for the first 7 Maiden Albums- their best. I have been a fan since those days to this day.
Rime of the ancient mariner, the red and the black, powerslave( if possible from live after death) the trooper, phantom of the opera, aces high, wasted years; a animated one doe by the guys that started Pixar : writing on the wall from their current album also pashendale from death on the road(concert vid)
And In fact...you should react to more Maiden live 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes, they need to be heard and seen live. I have that buried in your first Maiden comments somewhere.
watch this on the brazil, chile en vivo with a few hundred thousand crowd singing along
Quick answer - yes,. Other brilliant live performances, clansman, sign of the cross, dance of death, blood brothers, when the wild wind blows from rock in Rio etc etc etc seriously deep rabbit hole is maiden
A live Maiden concert would change you at a molecular level
another vote for Fear Of The Dark.. or for true Rock Opera try, Rime of the Ancient Mariner (also the live version)
Live on Chile... ahí está Iron Maiden....
just think...this show was before the album was even released. this is the first time the audience has heard this song.
Best metal band ever walked at earth
Maiden always needs to be live ! Always!!
I’ve seen iron maiden live a few times and they are always so good live my favorite time with him was when they co headlined with Judas Priest that was an awesome show
One of my favorite Maiden songs is The Trooper. A lot of energy when they play live.
The band works together as 1 unit no one better than the other and it's masterful!
I get to see them at the end of this month lol
The best band there was, is and will be!!!
UP THE IRONS!!!
I Love this Song❤🤘
There are two live versions that I've seen but you nailed by picking the one from back in the day, this is the better of the two for sure.
The guy in the dark colored jacket couldn't move much as he was bandaged up with some bruised or cracked ribs. Normally he was a bit more active. It isn't on the level of Phil from Motorhead drumming an entire tour with a stick taped to his broken hand but still he gave it all he could. Bruce, the singer, being a fencing enthusiast, did most of the wild action onstage. He could run all over, make fantastic leaps, and still have the breath to sing flawlessly.
I was at that concert.... a young 15 year old drummer front row Dave Murry side of the stage....it was their first North American tour...I dont know any of my musician friends who weren't influenced by Maiden... its a family, world wide... You should check one of their more current live performances... they're all amazing talents to say they least, and true gentlemen.
all there live performances are top notch darlin
Iron Maiden is a great band to see LIVE. SAW SOMEWHERE IN TIME tour.50 ft Eddie came out shooting lazers in cyborg form. Awesome
Some bands are studio bands, some are touring bands. Maiden is the ultimate touring band.
you get it for sure
Iron Maiden is better live. I’ve been a passive fan of Maiden since the 80’s. I finally got to see them live about 12 years ago, & the show blew me away. The band plays super tight, & they are true masters of their craft. I’m seeing them again in October, & I’m super pumped! 🤘
I always loved "Run to the Hills" and "The Trooper".
FEAR OF THE DARK LIVE, AMAZING
Dance of Death from En Vivo is a must watch
You should check out some more recent concerts. They are all much more active, jumping and running all over the stage.
amazing
Thank you commenting this band never disappoints
One of The greatest bands of all time, at the height of their powers, in a performance for the ages. Up The Irons \m/
Something different about Iron Maiden , check out the kids of The O'Keefe Foundation doing Number of the Beast, Ghost of the Navigator, also check out Motion Device(now called Quarter After Three) The Trooper
Hi Lilly Jane, Iron Maiden is awesome, I don't know why people don't request the song. Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter. From Iron Maiden, unless they never heard it before. It's an awesome song, I think you should do a reaction to it. Keep up the good work from Dave in Australia.
I like Nico best (The Drummer). He is allways very open and nice to there fans. And also very skilled.
Nicko is the man, stellar drummer
Run To The Hills because Iron Maiden is history class for metalheads.
Studio and live are all great +/-, it’s subjective, but live you can experience their performance visually too, and also the crowd engagement!
Been to a lot of concerts from a lot of genres and the best shows(with minor exceptions) by a long shot are metal or rock bands
Lily
In their later years' live concerts, Iron Maiden's musicians are more alive than their early years. In this time, they are having fun. Back then in 1982, Iron Maiden were fairly new to broader audience. Drummer was Clive Burr, and he died few years ago. In 1983, Nicko McBrain replaced Clive.
I saw them on the Legacy of The Beast 2022 World Tour. They are wild live!!! The Clansman live is phenominal. Go see them!!!
to be very honest, my first heavy metal band at the age of 7 was Ac Dc (1976) so I can consider meself a hold school of Heavy Metal fan. No, I really didn't like iron maiden was and I'm a fanatic for Ac Dc but around 1986/87 I fell in love with the cover of the Album Power Slave and a friend took the opportunity to show me some bands of Iron Maiden to see if I started to like them, Transilvania and Strange World with Paul Dianno, but I still thought I fell in love with the themes that were missing something and that's when I asked him to put Playing the album Power Slave, the lyrics were magnificent I learned a lot of English history from them, lyrics that had to do with me with my day-to-day as Fear of the Dark. Nowadays I can say that I've seen 7 Iron Maiden concerts being the first "Some Where in Time" (Some Where on Tour) but I've also seen my favorites 3 times.
Anything by Sabaton. Live is a must with them. They put on a hell of a show. Same with Rainbow/Dio as well.
Yes!
Every song is a free history lesson too.
Live version of rock/metal songs are always hupe and they and new things here and there and you can see the real technoques they use... Its just art at its fullest!
Saw them live, Powerslave tour.
...And now you know why Bruce Dickinson is the one, the only, "Human Air Raid Siren."
My recommendation would be to react next to Unleash the Archers -- Abyss, or Brittney Slayes singing the lead vocal on a song from Arjen Lucassen's album Star-One called "Fate of Man." If you do react to either song, you'll get to hear why Brittney Slayes is called "The Female Bruce Dickinson." Bruce not only influenced Brittney's singing style, but even his on-stage performing style influenced her, such as putting one leg up on the speakers. Give Brittney Slayes and Unleash the Archers a chance -- I guarantee you won't regret it!
Fear of the Dark from the Rock in Rio concert will turn you into a Maiden-head for life.
you remind me of my step daughter shes been a metal head from 6yrs
