my rating went from 1100 to 1500 after I spent like 2 weeks memorizing all the lines and ideas of the pirc, my middle game and endgame were decent but I never had a solid opening and would always blunder like 5-10 moves in, I’ve been able to stay consistently in the 1500 range but my peak was 1572, honestly the most solid opening I’ve ever seen thank you

I have recently stopped playing online to focus on chessable training. Am working through a chess structures course. I feel like I wasted a lot of time playing bullet with no development, and now I feel that bullet isn’t helping me develop my rapid chess calculations. For me, I need to commit to chessable training for the next several months. I think that will then get me from 1600 to 1900. How about you? ❤️

I am currently 1944 DWZ (German rating system), and at this rating range it's so close to ELO. And recently I noticed that whenever I play with black, I get in trouble from the opening if my opponent was well prepared against my basic openings with black. I always fight to draw or wait for my opponent to blunder a tactical or positional move when I play with black. And now I'm trying to find a system like PIRC to study it deeply to play it against almost everything that white can play. I tried it online, and I won a lot of games, and I kind of like it, but I'm still not sure whether to play this OTB or not.

I don't have any visual memory so I don't usually get anything out of opening themed videos, like for instance I would watch 12 hours of an opening and still only remember the first 2 or 3 moves that I knew before watching. So what I'm after is the rationale behind these moves and you don't get that much of this normally, but the videos in this series excel at their teaching and even the opening ones do. I worked my way up from lesson 11 on, and there's quite a few opening ones to come but I'm going to watch them all and not skip over them as not worthy of my time, these are all worthy, even to those of us who can neither visualize nor remember visually. I depend purely on analysis and am super happy I found this series to help me do that better!

@@NMRobertRamirez All manually, which is fine because it makes me watch the video's again and input each variation at the correct move. I'm not sure how to proceed, but I could share the study. I will obviously add variations in due time.
@@1968laugro yes, that repetition certainly helps us memorize the lines. I think that in order to share it, you have to click on "add members" and put their Lichess username. However, although I know you might not mind it, I think you should not make it public since you will be adding the specific lines you like and will play in tournaments. Again, maybe this is not a big deal to you, but keep it in mind just in case you end up showing everyone what your preparation is 😎

Robert thanks for the great video; @ 17:53 after 5...c5 6.dxc5, Qa5 instead of the mainline 7.Bd3 there is the odd looking 7.Qe2. After 7...Qxc5 8. Be3 Qa5 9.Qb5+ white looks to trade of Queens and the result is that in almost all lines white comes away with at least a +0.5 advantage.

I also started to read a book called (pirk alert a complet deffence agaist e4) and it is great. I think if you haven't shown or taught me anything. sure I will learn things but not at this speed not of this quality. I review my strategy studies. with hours of puzzles and tactics. my 15 hours of chess a day I try to organize my time so that my brain stays awake in terms of tactics etc. because the opening alone. only helps you to have a good position you have to be strong on the middle game and end game. find strategies. bring the opponent be in a positional and strategic game or be an open game and tactics etc. everything is important. that's why I'm reviewing my lessons. even beginner lessons. Someone actually played this against me after watching your video #69 on the pirc. He beat me but I played with 71% accuracy and he played with 91% in blitz. Which is weird cuz he was only rated 800 lol.
Nice tip perhaps: watch Seirawan's lecture on the st Louis Chess Club channel named "opening ideas : Pirc Defense". There he covers the Austrian attack and how Seirawan played against it.
Definitely the best lessons for pirc. I am playing pirc as main thanks to you. I have a few confusions throughout. Could you do a lesson on when is the right timing to play e5 break? Sometimes my opponent plays e5 before and miss the timing which gives me a hard time.

At some point, we want to move on to the Pirc but we both still feel a bit unsure of it when dealing with the Austrian attack. The two lessons you did covering the Classical Variation and 150 Attack are excellent though and we admire your fluid style. We very much appreciate your lessons and look forward to more Pirc soon!
@@teacherlee3527 the best thing is that when you guys decide to adopt the regular Pirc, it will be fairly easy since you have experience with the Czech variation. Regarding the Austrian, do not even worry about it. Take a look at the lesson we had on it (# 73) if you haven't and with that information, you will know more about those positions than anyone who would play it vs you as white.
Coach I have a question in 3:07 that when we play Qa5 what if our opponent takes the pawn on d6 because if we take it with e pawn it becomes an isolated pawn.
But what if after Nxe4 dxe7 now we can't take with king otherwise we can't castle and that pawn also stop our king to castle. And also he can try to attack our queen and after our queen moves he can checkmate our king by playing Qd7.
@@vidyangwagh1303 remember we have Nxc3 and if bxc3, we take again with our queen (check on their king) and then Nc6 cover the mate on d8 and gets ready to take on e7.

I included a chapter which has all of Mr NM Robert Ramirez's recommended moves so that in the listudy you can select that chapter to test all the moves since I don't think there is a way to study multiple chapters at the same time in listudy.
First Robert, these videos are tremendous - you are talented teacher! Second, I've been playing the Pirc and I've been facing 2. f4 quite a bit. Should we just play our normal Pirc setup against that, assuming the Austrian Attack is probably coming, or do you have another recommendation? I found a LiChess study where Black played 2. ... d5, but that seems odd moving that d pawn a second time so early.

Hey, I’ve been recently getting back into chess and I was wondering how you’d counter 7.h3? The set up is exactly like on 24:07 except there was no Bb5 so I never needed to do Bd7. White moved their pawn to e5 so I moved my knight to g4 where it got attacked by h3.

Hello Neil! Thanks a lot for your feedback. I truly appreciated! The important thing to remember is that the Czech Pirc (lesson # 51, 53) does not include g6. This one is more about trying to do e5 quickly and deploying our bishop to e7. The regular Pirc (lesson # 69, 70, 71, 74) is more about g6 and Bg7 and eventually we prepare the e5 push. The best way to get the hang of them is to watch the lessons where I am playing games with them (# 53 for the Czech Pirc and # 71 for the regular Pirc). That way you can see the plans and ideas of the opening and middlegame. Please, let me know if this makes sense 👍

Robert thanks for the great video; @ 17:53 after 5...c5 6.dxc5, Qa5 instead of the mainline 7.Bd3 there is the odd looking 7.Qe2. After 7...Qxc5 8. Be3 Qa5 9.Qb5+ white looks to trade of Queens and the result is that in almost all lines white comes away with at least a +0.5 advantage.

after having seen and reviewed all the lessons of pirc. I tried it in games. unfortunately my opponents opt for classic variation hehe. I won I think 19/20 games. i made a blunder in a game heheh. but what I wanted to tell you that if we understand the variants very well by playing them. we will have a lot of strategic and tactical ideas later with a very good position. I also started to read a book called (pirk alert a complet deffence agaist e4) and it is great. I've been reading it for a week with the review of your lessons and my tactics training etc. but really a big thank you !!! you are a really generous man. thank you for the section on your website and all the humble efforts you make. thank you very much master. I think if you haven't shown or taught me anything. sure I will learn things but not at this speed not of this quality. I will never forget it.

Someone actually played this against me after watching your video #69 on the pirc. He beat me but I played with 71% accuracy and he played with 91% in blitz. Which is weird cuz he was only rated 800 lol.
Nice tip perhaps: watch Seirawan's lecture on the st Louis Chess Club channel named "opening ideas : Pirc Defense". There he covers the Austrian attack and how Seirawan played against it.

Definitely the best lessons for pirc. I am playing pirc as main thanks to you. I have a few confusions throughout. Could you do a lesson on when is the right timing to play e5 break? Sometimes my opponent plays e5 before and miss the timing which gives me a hard time.

At some point, we want to move on to the Pirc but we both still feel a bit unsure of it when dealing with the Austrian attack. @@teacherlee3527 the best thing is that when you guys decide to adopt the regular Pirc, it will be fairly easy since you have experience with the Czech variation.
Regarding the Austrian, do not even worry about it. Take a look at the lesson we had on it (# 73) if you haven't and with that information, you will know more about those positions than anyone who would play it vs you as white.

Hello Vidyang! The trick is that if they do cxd6, we have Nxe4 and now their pinned knight form c3 is attacked by our queen, knight and bishop 👍
But what if after Nxe4 dxe7 now we can't take with king otherwise we can't castle and that pawn also stop our king to castle. And also he can try to attack our queen and after our queen moves he can checkmate our king by playing Qd7.

Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes, I included the change from the pinned comment. I included a chapter which has all of Mr NM Robert Ramirez's recommended moves so that in the listudy you can select that chapter to test all the moves since I don't think there is a way to study multiple chapters at the same time in listudy.

Second, I've been playing the Pirc and I've been facing 2. f4 quite a bit. Should we just play our normal Pirc setup against that, assuming the Austrian Attack is probably coming, or do you have another recommendation? I found a LiChess study where Black played 2. ... d5, but that seems odd moving that d pawn a second time so early.

Hey, I’ve been recently getting back into chess and I was wondering how you’d counter 7.h3? The set up is exactly like on 24:07 except there was no Bb5 so I never needed to do Bd7. White moved their pawn to e5 so I moved my knight to g4 where it got attacked by h3.
h3 may force some exchanges but ultimately Nh6 then head to Nf5.

Hello Neil! Thanks a lot for your feedback. I truly appreciated! The important thing to remember is that the Czech Pirc (lesson # 51, 53) does not include g6. This one is more about trying to do e5 quickly and deploying our bishop to e7. The regular Pirc (lesson # 69, 70, 71, 74) is more about g6 and Bg7 and eventually we prepare the e5 push. The best way to get the hang of them is to watch the lessons where I am playing games with them (# 53 for the Czech Pirc and # 71 for the regular Pirc). That way you can see the plans and ideas of the opening and middlegame. Please, let me know if this makes sense 👍
