Walmart sells plug-in timers in the hardware section. Dial on the front with 24 hours on them. Just pull/push the hour tabs you want on/off. Set it and forget it. Seems like less trouble than an app-based plug.
@@69Accord69Yes but it does require you to have your Internet working and Wi-Fi working if there is an outage the device will not be working. With your stone-age variety timers you can use them with a generator no problem.
I have two of them for my outside rope lights and back yard string lights. Every time Wyze does an update, I have to manually unplug and replug them. Every time the power goes out, I have to manually unplug and replug them. They connect using wifi, and they are the LEAST reliable smart devices in my house. What I don't have connectivity issues with: my hubs (Smartthings, lutron, eero...) I'm a minimalist at heart, so I wanted to avoid the systems that needed their own hubs. I was excited about MATTER. But I started building my smart home six years ago, and as far as reliability goes, hubs win hands down. Even through my love/hate relationship with Smartthings, their reliability has been rock-solid!
Just fyi if your now going to leave those lights plugged up permanently you need to change the cover on your outlet. That is not a “in use” weather proof cover so it’s only providing protection to your outlet when your not plugged up. You need to change it to a bubble cover.
wankers. You can buy a switch that plugs in at the socket. Now you can turn your lights on when you need them instead of wasting power on a schedule that turns them on when you aren't there.... WHY would you schedule the lights? Unless that alcove is your family room where you do stuff on a nightly basis (Which i doubt, looking at the furniture).

True, but with this one you can do automation. When doors open during night time, lights will turn on without going to the app.

I Have a couple of those, love them. Happy with all the Wyze equipment i have.
Sounds like the perfect man to ask then 😊 do I need a hub if I buy this or it can connect to my wifi on its own?
You just need to connected them to WiFi no hub needed

I mean, there's a roof over it.
Just buy a photo cell outlet maybe like 10$ you never have to turn it on or off again
Do you need a hub or utsvenough to buy this and it will connect to my wifi on its own?
does this require a subscription?
Now @ $5. Home Depot.
Does it work with Apple HomeKit?
No
