I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.
*My old camera started flippin out so i bought a **Newest.Technology** one. Was really excited about the talking feature but my friends said “we can hear your voice through the front door.”10/10*
Have a Wyze Outdoor V2 Camera with Base Station and a Wyze Outdoor V3 with power plug in. Trying to reach barn 200' away. V2 works perfectly with Base Station 20' away from WiFi & closer to barn. V3 not so lucky as Wifi connection is not good although IPhone shows 2 bars. Question can V3 Camera use the V2 Base Station as a Wifi Connection and if yes how do you get them to pair up? If not any suggestions on getting the V3 to work? Would a WiFi extender work?
The V3 with the power cord built in is meant to connect directly to your wifi network without the use of the hub. So it is not able to use the hub that came with the outdoor version. I wfif extender on the other hand could help with the connection issues of the V3.
Pls explain the feature and settings ! Night sensor only works to get clear video at night but you still need some light ? When it is 2am it is pitch black how will it record ? Outdoor cam v2 review coming ?
Startlight sensor is so that you can have colored video at night. However, it needs a little light from somewhere to do that. If not it uses IR lights and has a black and white image. Using this it can record whenever. Outdoor cam v2 review is on the list, but have a few things ahead of it.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews hi question on this. How do I get the audio to come through to the camera? Do I just hit the speak button? When I do I can only hear myself on my phone? Or do I have to hold the speak button, say whatever I need to say then wait?
@@ashleynicole2768 You would press and hold the mic icon and say what you want then wait for the person on the other side to say something. There is a delay so it might feel like you are waiting longer then you normally would think.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews it doesn't seem to work. I'm trying to use it for my dog lol I have 2 dogs ones old and the other is young. He continues to destroy her dog beds while she's sleeping. I wanted to use it to yell at him through it when he's chewing her bed up. Doesn't work :/
Thanks, the travel mode to me feels like something that was slapped on in development just to help give it something else that other outdoor cameras don't do.
Might be a dumb question but how do you review the entirety of videos recorded to SD card? The only option I seem to have is to review a specific event and cannot view a specific time. With the Wyze cam v3 there is a button and the bottom (view playback). The outdoor cam doesn't seem to have that. (I have SD cards in base and camera.)
The outdoor camera does not support recording video in real time. It will only record clips. This includes if you use an sd card in the camera itself as well as the base station. This was done to prolong the battery life. This may change in the future with an update now that Wyze has introduced a solar power source for this camera.
Great review. I am just now learning about security cameras. If you are outside in your yard, will you get continuous motion alarms or will you have to turn on and turn off to avoid that. Thanks.
Hi Wonderer, I am looking into using the camera especial for travel feature. I want to use it as a cheap recording device for high school sports to analyse players during a game. I'm planning to have 4 of these cameras dissecting the play field into 4. Is the video quality good enough for the task? I'm not looking into having a high resolution camera, but is the quality should be good enough to identify active players. Ur help will be appreciated.
It sounds like it could do what you're looking for . However the battery life we concern me . As bees are generally motion-activated cameras even in travel mode Unless you override it they would be motion activated . If you try and Just have a continuous recording the battery will be depleted very quickly Even running Time-lapse I noticed a 10% drop in battery .
@@Wanderer001_Reviews thanks, but if u say ur concern is the battery, I would only need it for 2hrs max. if I do continuous recording from a full charge, how long can it take?
I can't get my base connected. You mentioned switching to different networks. I don't know what I've got or how to switch them. I also tried the QR code but it wouldn't work either. I admit to being technically challenged! Thanks for your help.
What I need to do was change over to the network that I had associated with the Wyze app before. If you only have one network at your home you would not need to change anything.
We are not on a payment Plan......We have (2) Wyze Cameras indoors, we just got one outdoors camera that works well but, when we leave the house it will not transmit to our phone so we can see what's going on at our home outside.....The indoor Cameras transmit just fine out of town....(the outdoors work only when we are home)....What is the Problem?
It sounds like the jump from the camera to the base station is not pushing the last part to your phone while you are out of wifi range. How far apart is the camera from its base station?
@@Wanderer001_Reviews I can see everything and hear everything on my outside on my phone as long as I am at home....can't drive down the road.....not nothing.....
I think 200 As a little far for its range I have it at about 75 And with that I go between 1 and 2 bar signal strength. Wyze Claims it can go 300 feet in open field . So really it sounds like it's dependent on your setup .

Does the base have to be plugged into your router forever? Or just during setup?
Now just during setup. They updated the base so that you can use it wirelessly after setup.

I have the accessibility to hardwire a camera. Would you recommend this Wyze outdoor cam or a Wyze v3 with a waterproof case for outdoor purposes?
Only if you don't have a power supple. Also, I would go with the v2 of this as they added the starlight sensor to it.
Finally. An empirical review!!

Yes you might have to turn that feature off while you're outside. If I don't do it I get stacks of notifications.
Can its sensor activate the lights on the house to alert people?
You can set a rule up that if it detections motion to turn on a wyze plug or wyze bulb.
I’ve set my Outdoor Camera with a Solar Panel. Unfortunately the panel does not fully charge to 100%.
Does it keep it topped off at least?
What’s the time duration to initially fully charge WCO battery and recharge the battery when the battery gets low?
About 3hrs depending on how low you let it get.
Good review!
How does the video/picture resolution compare with the Cam v3 ?
V3 is better. It is more comparable to the v2.
How can you increase the notification response. Event is over and gone before I’m notified.
There is no way to increase the notification response time. It's a push notification from the wyze app.

Which camera are you using for 24/7 recording please
Battery life is just sad tho
Depends on amount of activity in the area it is placed.
The biggest fault with ALL their cameras is the 32GB micro SD cards. Only 3 days max of playback is insufficient.
Officially they only support 32gb, however, several people have shown that you can have a 64gb on with no issues.
