I have a 2013, Chevy Avalanche with a Chronic P0451, P0446, and a P015D.. I don’t know if this truck has AFM//DFM but Texas don’t have any real mechanics in Central Texas I can trust in the Gatesville area because they drive old 1980-1990 trucks and cars.. I’m not 100% mechanic inclined but I use a scan tool to figure out what the error code is..
Should I give up on GM and Ford for a Dodge or Honda vehicle since GM sabotaged their own vehicles? I didn’t know GM vehicles were so slow, fragile and weak when Kia, Hyundai and Dodge fly by me doing 95-115!!
I learned my lesson when I got bait swapped by a second rate used junk car dealership in Central Texas. I’m not rich enough to afford lawsuits but I trust Karma.

Frame your windows square, with the house wrap, window tape, sealant, silicone and the slope of the actual frame, window sill ( should have a 5% slope for drainage) you should be good . Make sure you shim the windows!!!!!!!! Window tape; side tape first then the top, do not tape the bottom of the window. If you do you’ll create a damn /trap for any water that may get in and will get inside.
Genius idea for the other walls! You’re doing a great job. You’re a STUD brother! Aloha 🤙🏼

Stick with doing both the career and the channel. The channel could dry up at any point in time. If the career is solid, you still have the funds rolling in where RUclips might not.

I personally truly admire your never quit, no job too big or too small attitude. That is what will make you successful and has made you successful thus far. I would only caution, tread lightly on throwing all your irons into the fire. Having a solid plan other than just 200k subs, is critical. I’m sure you have thought this all through already. So, full steam ahead. Good luck.

As much as I like your channel, the car & truck stuff isn't really my jam, so truthfully I might end up watching less after the shop is done.

I would have suggested either ordering some glulams to span the vertical supports or make your own with 2 2x's and osb in between. Then, use that as your upper plate. Or you could have sistered a 2x6 to each of your vertical supports and run your outer framing horizontal.

When you get ready for your lift make sure you check out the 4 post lifts. Almost all of them come with a caster kit to make the lift mobile. On nice days you can roll it outside, and on not so nice days you can roll it around inside wherever you want it. With your large trucks, you’ll probably want a 9000lb lift. Check out Wildfire lifts. My suggestion.

Oof, that "oversight" sucks! At least its reasonably manageable, and while a bit time consuming, overall a fairly inexpensive work around that you can work through. Looking great! And the worst part of doing this on your own is that no one tells you when you are missing something.
Its always something little that comes up, but keep on going!
The chance to go full time has to be scary, and exciting. I hope the decision brings all the benefits you are dreaming of, and any problems are as easy to work through as the wall solution ended up being. With the family support you are in a great spot and cant ask for more. Make sure you have your savings in place in case of a dip or slow down, keep any professional designations or credentials up to date as a fail-safe, and pursue the dream as long as it makes sense!

Aloha nui my bradah. Save your knees and your back: put the chopsaw/mitre saw on a cutting station/table. I've framed with guys who would build a whole house off the ground. Take 5 minutes to knock together a quick cutting table. 10$ saw horse jack, 3 2x4 x 8s and a sheet of ply. This also allows you to set up stop block for when you need to make a bunch of the same cut, you just run the board into the stop block/index block and boom, chop it, just keep count of how many you need. So much faster than measuring and cutting over and over again.

Love your videos! One thought to consider when you're thinking about going full time. I'm guessing you have two different audiences here. Maybe they overlap, I don't know. I'd just caution that when the building is done if there aren't other construction projects that your viewership might go down. Perhaps you've already thought this through and have figured out a way to continue to mix the cars and construction I just wouldn't want you to be caught off guard if something like that were to happen. Keep working hard, loving that family of yours and trusting the Lord.

Another time saving tip. take both your top and bottom plates, lay them down on edge together, pull your tape down them and mark your layout, then come back with your square and mark your reference lines. so now you pop your plates on top and bottom, then line your studs up to your reference marks and you know you're plumb. Also, measuring the bay side of the stud for plumb isn't as important as checking they are plumb on the edge (exterior/interior) as that will show up in siding and drywall.

It's looking fantastic bud! I love the fact you're reaching the 200k mark! I got the floor poured and the spray foam completed on my shop build, now it's time to finish the inside and complete all the wiring, so much to do yet but I'm so thankful to get to this point of the project, I only wish the bills would stop coming in, just the floor was 67K in concrete! Take care and don't work too hard bud!

Well, I personally love your positivity and just your personality in general as well as love seeing your videos come on my feed. I don’t know what your financial situation is like but I don’t know if 200k subscribers will allow you to do that. If it can, go for it, but if not, there’s no sense in rushing it. You’ll get there I’m sure.

Grasp what you can do today as tomorrow may bring challenges. Always have a plan B. RUclips is an awesome platform but…will it outlast you and how it provides for your family? Stay diversified. Rock on 🎸

You might consider getting a mitre saw stand so you get off your knees. You will appreciate it at the end of each day. See DWX724 model.

Whats nice about your design, you can always add on a lean-to style addition on your west side without any drastic changes, or visual changes.🙂 HOA approved obviously 🤣
