If you haven't gotten an answer as to what that stuff is, www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=sill+seal Don't know what specifically he choose, but
2 post lift. Only one to go with is, Bendpak. They’re end game. Great job on this project. Truly inspiring and incredible what someone with no fear and determination can do.
I second the comment about running wiring asap. Helped my dad build his shop. We ran CAT5 from the house to the shop underground. Then added a RJ45 cap on it so he can have internet inside the metal shop for TV and computer. Once the shop was completed just grabbed a router and tv and mounted it up inside.
Not even needed with WIFI now. I have a metal pole barn and I just put a range extender inside on the wall towards the house where the router sits and it works perfectly for my security cameras and my phone when I'm working in the barn. With only the router in the house it would have signal but sometimes drop.
Wow, that's great your father in law is close by and the house is beautiful!! Your videos are great quaility and so enjoyable!! Another one to watch 2X's😊
BendPak Two-Post Lifts. They have them from 7,000lb all the way up to 18,000lb but bendpak is a realy good brand to use and they can install it for you. also they work with youtuber like Matt Carriker / demo ranch. they may spencer a video.
You didn't need to put those 8' 2x4's across that many purlins. Spanning a short 2x4 across 2 of the purlins would had worked and saved money on lumber and screws
Your Milwaukee framer has a shot counter on it. Any Milwaukee service center will be able to plug it in and tell you how many shots have been fired. No reasoning for this. But since I work at a shop, I always check mine after a project because I geek out on knowing how many nails my fence took 😂😂
Chad did you ever figure out your path forward? Keep working at Frito Lay or go RUclips full time? I have not seen any Plumbing in the Shop, are you not going to have water for a Mud Sink or Lavatory?
Go around and drill some 2 1/2 holes in your blocking. You never know when you want a wire or conduit in the walls. Holes now could save you many headaches in the future. Holes are free...... Challenger Lifts.
This is awesome to watch and gives me motivation...... >>Sits back in chair, thinks about last room in house that still needs to have it's floor finished after almost 5 years of thinking about finishing floor, loses motivation
Fantastic work always happy when I see your notification come up. Love the energy in your videos I also this you might be part of the ADHD club cause your clips are all over the show and it's awesome. Teach your kids to love cars that way they won't have money for drugs.
Couple of things, go with a Bendpak for a two-post lift, but go ahead and get the 12K LB Capacity model, just in case you ever want to put a heavy diesel truck on it, cheaper to do it now, than to regret not doing it later. Secondly, how much have you enjoyed the Milwaukee Framing Nailer, I am a huge Milwaukee fan with so many Milwaukee M18 and M12 tools but looking at the FRAMING Nailer for convenience of not having to get my air compressor and all the house out to run my Air Nailer. Secondly, did you consider the Milwaukee Compound Miter saw, looks like it would have been convenient to have on site on a cart to roll around the shop with you while you cut the blocking as you go. Love your videos, can't' wait to see it complete.
It’s the first framing nailer I’ve owned so don’t have anything to compare. I love not having to lug around a compressor and hose. I got the Dewalt saw on a Black Friday sale ✅ smokin’ deal. 🤙🏽 thanks for watching!
The Shop is coming along so well. It is a dream for any man to have such a gianormiss shop at their disposal. Plus knowing you built it mostly yourself is a priceless bonus. a CA fan
With all that flat surface to work on, I would be on the lookout for a good used sicisor lift to finish the inside. Rental companies like United and Sunbelt have good used lifts for sale, and at this point, forward in your build it would sure be handy, safer too.
I see a lot of Bendpaks in the comments, Bendpak makes great lifts. But I hear a lot of my customers complain about their customer service. I personally use a Rotary lift, works great and customer service was phenomenal when it got damaged in shipping.
Mahalo! I have been seen your videos and I got a serious question for you, so far I have not seen even plans for some solar panels, have you not even consider that on this age?! (I know your stand and I also am a knob head or better saying a rotor guy since I'm more into rotaries like 13B, 20B, and other "Bees"🐝 specially with turbo🐌whines and 🔥🎆😏 I got an '88 RX-7 FC3S turbo II and an E30 BMW, but I also like other platforms and engines) That It will be an investment that will help your savings in a long term, not only for the home but specially for the shop!! AND PLEASE MAKE THAT HELLARADO COME TRUE!!! I BEG YOU!!!! even if you have to find a wrecked car to save the engine from there(I dunno if you still have the chance of buying a crate with that engine and all you need to get that done.) On other note and to finalize... I wish all the best for you and all your lovely family, thank you all for your great vibes and videos and sharing all your passion with us!!!
@LonestarHawaiian I recommend that you add another layer of the black flashing paper taped to the outside of the Zip sheathing and onto the brick ledge. The way you have it now, moisture will accumulate at the bottom and soak up the edge of the particle board. Brick absorbs water. Sun will drive the moisture into the gap between the Zip and the brick. There are lots of building science videos about this.
Good stuff man! Rotary Lift SPOA10-AV is a good option. 10k lb capacity and adjustable to lift all your vehicles. Fast operation with the Shockwave feature.
Hit up Robby Layton or Paul Cox (FabRats) and ask about their new Challenger Lifts. Challenger has been taking good care of several RUclipsrs. They look like high quality lifts.
I think I remember you burying conduit for the wiring? Hopefully, your to smart to not have planned that out. It's coming along beautifully, keep this up and you will be dried in in no time.
Bendpak is the only answer and run more receptacles than you think you'll ever need. A 220 receptacle is a great idea for welder in the future. Do it now while it's easy
Look for used car lifts my cousin got one for 1500 bucks new one 5,000 it can lift 6500lbs just make sure it’s single phase for electric. Ps are you going to see the solar eclipse?
Looking good. Bet you can't wait to be done. If you want to keep the rain from splashing mud up around the outside of the building, throw some hay/straw around the outside perimeter.
I am wondering why you used full 8 foot 2 x 4's on the purlins to attach the side walls. You could have just used 2 foot or 4 foot lengths and save a lot of money. Or are you gonna strip the entire ceiling that way. All of the steel in your building is well grounded through the rebar and bolts on the base plates so you should be safe. Looking great.
Use a corded or cordless leaf blower to run that water off your concrete in a hurry . And obviously after you wash your vehicles. Love the videos & vote against HOA !! Cheers
No clue on the twin post but I have a mid-rise lift and love it. Makes getting the quick tire change for racing and brake jobs so much easier when it's a drive on.
Have u thought about having the top of the door meet the top line abpve the the windows either side of the entrance? Could stick in another window eh bud lol bit great job ...love watching this and your energy is immense! Hats of
Hey brother I really look up to you and appreciate what you do. It’s not easy to diy everything. Especially when you have never done it before. I wish I had the same drive you have
I am building my own 40x60 shop as well so I have to say thank you for the screw shout out - I could not figure out what screws to use to connect my wooden framing to the iron i-beams. Thanks to you, now I know!
Just a heads up I would put dead wood in areas that you could potentially hang Sheetrock, cabinets, or even tool cabinets to make your hanging easier. And you can use your scrap wood to Do it as well
The price I charge customers is reflected by the pump. I get homeowners and landscapers trying to beat me up on price all the time. I don't budge and they pay or I leave and they call my competition who charge the same.
I hope you are planning on insulating the entire building. You won’t believe how hot that roof can get, then the heat radiating down inside is tremendous. Plus it will be easier to heat and cool down the road. Surprised you haven’t installed any water lines or drains in the floors. Maybe see that down the road
1:10 Not smart to leave scaffolding up next to a vehicle. I'm guessing that you did not have enough time to take some of the scaffolding apart, or tip it over, so that it could not tip over, onto the truck.
What was the price comparison between the steel framing vs wood? Looking at doing something similar or a combo of wood post steel. Beg pro to me is strength and overhead space.
The two post lift talk bendpak lift they also could sponsor you because you do a lot of car videos and truck videos so they might even give to you for free.
One thing i did to my shop was add a channel drain down the middle. Not too late, you can still saw cut the area and install a channel drain. Not that challenging and you can do it by yourself without much help.
$300,000....all of the steel in this build is useless. Would have cost half the price building just with wood 2x6 framed walls and wood scissor trusses. I've been building for over 40 years !!
Yup! Post frame construction is awesome and inexpensive. I said it at the beginning that $300k was a lot of $$$ for this build. That's why its taking so long and the electrical portion hasn't even begun!

Honestly with you doing it yourself it’ll have more structural integrity than most contractors would make it. Your doing a badazz job 🤙🏽
#1 lesson I've learned from all your videos.. don't move to wherever you live 😂
FLASHING is the word you’re looking for.
Bend pack is the company for lift & see that they could give a break on price if you promote & advertise!!
Wow, that's great your father in law is close by and the house is beautiful!!
Your videos are great quaility and so enjoyable!! Another one to watch 2X's😊
Love it! Love the 20ish minute video length too!!! It's like watching a TV show, keep er going!!!!
Bendpak makes the best lifts
I beg to differ They may have many years ago but now everything comes from China! Might look into Worth Equipment out of Mansfield Full Us Made Lifts
Always look forward to seeing the development of your dream garage! Looks fantastic!
Great job on your wall framing!
As a consumate Do it Yourselfer; I really appreciate and respect your can do, DIY altitude!
Well done, Sir!

Sill plate flashing is what you are looking for between your slab and the brick veneer
You should make it louder maybe some headers, x pipe, and slp loudmouth axle back and a cam. That’s how you turn a C5 into a NASCAR as a c5 owner
Chad did you ever figure out your path forward? Keep working at Frito Lay or go RUclips full time? I have not seen any Plumbing in the Shop, are you not going to have water for a Mud Sink or Lavatory?
A restroom would be top of the list for me
Nothing in the Floor to support any of this. But as close as he is to the house. Personally when nature calls, get out of my way.
This has been so awesome watching this come together! Keep up the great work brotha!
Go around and drill some 2 1/2 holes in your blocking. You never know when you want a wire or conduit in the walls. Holes now could save you many headaches in the future. Holes are free......
Challenger Lifts.
Anyone who says Bendpak has never heard of Mohawk! Even a 20 y/o Mohawk is 10x better than a Bendpak...
Hey, I just got a 2.7 custom is there anything you would recommend I add on like a cold air intake and stuff like that?
Everyone says bendpak because thats what other automotive channels are useing , not because they acually have one
Once the sheathing is up you’ll be enjoying your new shop. At least it will feel so much more motivating to keep going.
Bendpak 2 post lift are the best
This is awesome to watch and gives me motivation......
>>Sits back in chair, thinks about last room in house that still needs to have it's floor finished after almost 5 years of thinking about finishing floor, loses motivation

Has anyone noticed how long this is taking? World record on slowest garage build.
Since you have blocking, if you plan to run ethernet out there, do it before you close those walls up!
Couple of things, go with a Bendpak for a two-post lift, but go ahead and get the 12K LB Capacity model, just in case you ever want to put a heavy diesel truck on it, cheaper to do it now, than to regret not doing it later.

The fact you used your fathers construction site as a background for your add... wow lol
bendpak as they support a lot of garage builds to save some money

That building product seems like some sort of flashing. You should collab with Matt Risinger!

100% go for Benpak 2 post lift. They’re amazing just ask Kevin from Junkyard Digs!
2nd that
Then you end up with moldy hay/straw
It's looking great, outstanding job. This is going to be so amazing when you get it done.
Man I haven't seen your videos in a long time looks like you struck gold since the old silverado days lol. Dream shop looking awesome !
Bendpak lift. They will probably sponsor you if you get with them. Bendpak does alot of lifts for youtubers.
DIY is the way of the future. I'm building my own house because of housing prices! yay world
For a 2 post lift, can’t go wrong with a Mohawk Lifts. Over engineered and should last a lifetime.
I'm a Bricklayer and we would using plastic ploy which is what it looks like what they used. I've also used blue skin and of course metal flashing
Generally u have concrete, waterproof plastic stuff, then wood. Stops any damp seeping up into the wood.
Man, if I lived near you, I’d be offering to help. I’m not pro but I love building things with my hands.
I know you may never but think about if you ever want to get an Rv you should make the big opening at least 15’ just a thought. Build looks great.
Have u thought about having the top of the door meet the top line abpve the the windows either side of the entrance? Could stick in another window eh bud lol bit great job ...love watching this and your energy is immense! Hats of

Bendpak two post hoist. Handles 10,000 lbs and is less than $6K. JEGS sells 'em.
Bendpak, they may sponsor you like they do with other car RUclipsrs
Just a heads up I would put dead wood in areas that you could potentially hang Sheetrock, cabinets, or even tool cabinets to make your hanging easier. And you can use your scrap wood to
Do it as well
I’m late with this tip, but it’s easier to shoot your blocking in before you stand the wall. Snap your chalk line and shoot em in.
The price I charge customers is reflected by the pump. I get homeowners and landscapers trying to beat me up on price all the time. I don't budge and they pay or I leave and they call my competition who charge the same.
Recommend rotary Asymmetric 2 post, and go higher capacity than you need, just in case you get something heavier in the future!
Очень круто 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It doesn’t take that long bro get better suppliers n hire Mexicans for one day of work 🤣as much as you spent alrdy
I get tired just watching you do the work. Lol Kudos to you, dude. Looks killer.
Main door height needs to be 13’8” for the semi cab your going to get to haul all the toys, think ahead and positive 😊
I hope you are planning on insulating the entire building. You won’t believe how hot that roof can get, then the heat radiating down inside is tremendous. Plus it will be easier to heat and cool down the road. Surprised you haven’t installed any water lines or drains in the floors. Maybe see that down the road
You mean other companies make 2 post lifts, I thought that was only @Bendpak
1:10 Not smart to leave scaffolding up next to a vehicle. I'm guessing that you did not have enough time to take some of the scaffolding apart, or tip it over, so that it could not tip over, onto the truck.
Get a Bendpak
@bendpak sponsor this hard working family man!! Everyone repost! #bendpak
@bendpak #bendpak
Nice work buddy, i am a garage door installer here in North Texas it would be awesome if i can install garage doors for you guys.
What was the price comparison between the steel framing vs wood? Looking at doing something similar or a combo of wood post steel. Beg pro to me is strength and overhead space.
Shops looking good. Did you get a Milwaukee sponsorship too? I’m seeing a lot of red 👍🏻
The two post lift talk bendpak lift they also could sponsor you because you do a lot of car videos and truck videos so they might even give to you for free.
Brick flashing. Use 18 inch instead of 12 inch for more coverage.
Check out the garage that Obsessed Garage just finished. I think he used the Nuesbaum lifts.
Great Job!!! Coming along Nicley. Kind of, LOL JK
You need a buddy working party all the buddies come by help and have a BBQ
One thing i did to my shop was add a channel drain down the middle. Not too late, you can still saw cut the area and install a channel drain. Not that challenging and you can do it by yourself without much help.
I see a lot of people recommending bendpak, i have 2 and am not impressed, do your research.
Ignore the comments telling you to run ethernet to the building.. run fiber.
imo i recommend Bendpak you wont regret it
Definitely go with bendpak best in the game and sponser alot of youtubers
That plastic sheeting, atleast in Australia, is called Viscourse or damp course.
BendPak 10,000 lbs 2-post clear floor Lift
Nice painting skills. Can’t wait for the next update.
If I was going to get a two post lift I would get one that is American Made none of that Chinisium crap !
$300,000....all of the steel in this build is useless. Would have cost half the price building just with wood 2x6 framed walls and wood scissor trusses. I've been building for over 40 years !!

You have put so much blocking and studs in this building it should survive a tornado.
Brah, you still building your shop? Go home depot grab some help lol.
Been following this build your doing a great job!!!!
