Towards the ending here u mentioned putting these in 4 cyl,. engine's...... u were saying the MODEL T..... I WAS IMAGINING THE 80' s / 90' s rides like the chevy citation x-11 ( but me i would some how graft in some sort of wagon read end in the x-11 )....MAKE IT VERY 1 OF A KIND & YET VERY VERY SPORTY TOOO.... or any of them rides we all wish in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I TOOO HAVE TON'S OF COOL OPTIONAL IDEAS FOR THE 80 's & 90' s rides
I have a 1968 HK model Holden premier which is an Australian Chev brand, I have had this car for 46 years. It runs a standard 307 cu in SB chevy, after watching this video with your daughter Emi's remarks, would love to put an EV motor in the shell of the SB 307, with engine mounts already in place and the batteries in the fuel tank, what a great conversion. The costing would be a hurdle but would love to have a ball park figure quotation Chris, I live in Tutukaka, suburb of Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand.
Hi victor. Yes the pricing is a big hurdle for sure. I am hoping in the next couple of years the prices will come down. Unfortunately it costs more to convert than buying a complete electric car at the moment. Hard pill to swallow for sure!
I have a 1984 Chevy G30 Minnie Winnie with small block 5.7. Love the old chevy's from when I was a kid. I did a rebuild on this old chevy G30 small rv. Now i just ran across your small block electric motor. Blew my mind. I am in my 60's and love chevy power. If you can sell some kind of crate motors on these let me know. Keep going. We might get a little older but never give up !!!!!
Passion, knowledge and vision at play, love it guys!!! What would you do with a natural power supply 7 kWh plus?. Unit available ready to be plugged in. Would love to hear your creative mind!
I know eventually I’m putting one of these in my 67 Camaro. It’s coming. Engines are cool but it’s the lines, the curves that make the classics so priceless. What an era I always knew I would own a classic. There is a new industry here with conversions. !!
Yeah but also with Propane conversions which are cheaper however I understand some like Electric better for me if I had a vintage car and Gasoline became more scarce I would convert to Propane god I am starting to sound like Hank Hill lol.
You could have a hidden turbo that pushes air sounds through the pipes. So, the car would sound the same as a high-powered gas car ... make them roar ... :)
Yes! Finally someone who gets it from both sides, we can still enjoy classic cars and slow down the effects of global warming if we start embracing more projects like this, I know that rumble is addictive but we cannot continue to destroy this planet with gas emissions, we put 37 gigatons of carbon into the atmosphere annually and some scientists believe we are already nearly at the tipping point of what detrimental and life threatening effects lurks on the other side of these circumstances, please guys I know that big combustion engine roar and vibration is very addictive but we have to find a better way for our children and grandchildren's future, let's save this world for them to have the opportunity to breathe clean air, thank you sir for your revolutionary ideas and humble hrs spent on your invention, and the best part is that it was all born from the love you have for your daughters, you should damn sure be a proud and praised father. 💯💚
Wow, you two are incredible. I love it. I have a 1992 E350 van with a 4 " lift. It has a 460 motor. I was wondering if I could covert it to electric powerfull enough to tow 4 tons to haul my metalart sculptures to burning man and other shows. I dont care if it's only rear wheel drive. Any ideas?
These motors I am using have 360 foot pounds of torque. There are motors they use in buses and trucks that have well over 1000 foot pounds . They are usually lower rpm motors so coupled to your existing trans would be perfect rather than having a single gear reduction. You are going to need a large battery pack on account of weight sucks the batteries down
I love the idea of electric ! I was wondering if its possible to do a flathead V8 that could bolt to a awesome henry conversion kit for ford 8N tractor
Along with Propane and hydrogen though the Hydrogen is distance future but I can see a future for Electric and Propane hot rods and love what these guys or well guy and woman are doing.
I was super-intrigued by your presentation. You guys are visionaries. Here is what I have observed. There is a cottage industry in restoration of old Land Cruisers and Land Rovers. I would love to have a Land Cruiser, but I can't. in good conscience. I had Land Cruisers before, which is why I love them. But I know they're getting like maybe 12 MPG. If they were electric ....
Man, I really got the wrong neighbors growing up. Hotrods old cars love it. We had mopeds and an old suzuki alto with only first and reverse gear haha.
Emily you rule. I would love a 1932 Ford model A changed over to electric. That way I could keep up with highway traffic instead of pulling over every 2 kilometers to let impatient drivers by. And hey my daughter is also an Emily. LOL
Granted, I realize that electric vehicles have been around since the late 1800s, but I think I like Jay Leno's idea. Have your daily driver as an electric to "save the environment" so that you can have your traditional (internal combustion engine) hotrod for the weekends. That said, I'm considering doing an electric build on one of the IHC Metro vans that I own. The roof is big enough that I could have enough solar panels to keep the batteries topped off when I'm not driving it to a car show.
I have a 32 Ford sitting in the man cave. Maybe when battery technology catches up and gives the car a 1000 mile range and a 2 hour charge, the project will be viable as a daily driver. There is nothing green about electric vehicles. Energy has to be created to make and recharge electric vehicles. People seem to demonize oil and gas but forget that the industry has given us such an incredible lift in living standards and taken us out of hand to mouth poverty from the late 1800's. No apology required.
Supposedly the localized energy production is cleaner than being localized in every vehicle even if the electricity is created by gas or coal. Plus I think half or more is made by hydro, nuclear, and solar-wind now too. Makes sense. It's easier to scrub one stack with a multi million dollar scrubber than counting on a million cats and OBDIIs to do the job. Final thought. In a SHTF scenario, I can make electricity but I can't make gas.
There is a whole world of EV conversions needed. It's sustainable, it employs locals and and creates regional economies, not shipping all the $$ to Detroit (or wherever...). Kits are a much needed supply chain item. Lots of do it your-selfer's can rebuild (or build) a cool car with a decent EV kit. I'd like to do a quality '57 Vette (replica) as an EV. Make it look mostly period correct. I don't need an SBC shell, I'm OK with battery packs shaped like a V8 (Like Icons 48 Merc) and laid flat under the floor. I want 250 mile range and plenty of go. But I love the older styling cues. I do not want to drive an iPhone on wheels - just not my thing. And I think a lot of folks are in the same mind set :-) Keep up the good work !!
Price will need to come down by about $45,000 before this is tempting. 50k-70k should include regenerative braking, HVAC, instrumentation and even then it is a steep.
How about converting a Dodge Magnum. It has plenty of trunk space. Usethw trunk space to add batteries upto the height of the wheel well flush. If you contact me, I can make suggestions as how to make it unique enough to make it worth it. If successful maybe you can pitch the idea to Stellantis and they can use it in their Chrysler 300. Both vehicles have similar body style. In the 300 trunk wouldn't be used. It would still be a skate board platform but the additional idea is what would make it fast charging, efficient and possibly more competitive to tesla
I can see using "the casting" as the shelf to hold the components in their most efficient configuration and as mounting points for a clean fully engineered replacement installation. For me, I don't need all the faux just a form follows function package that one could use to reactivate their out of date drive trains. Imagine a time when they are the same as a rebuild and you will own this market. Especially as most of these cars will be locally used and not for horsepower wars which nobody really cares about any more. Any new gas car will outperform any old hot rod and all anybody wants is just to drive these unique platforms. Bolt in Ned plug and play.

ok great idea...but for 50k to 70k for 1 motor this is rediculous... i can get a tesla model s motor for 3k... so idk... theres alot of room for improvment on the price...and concidering a cyber truck is 40k then 6 and 70k.... how the fuck are you going to sell this...we can get a whole cyber truck for 70k.
The problem with electric motors are batteries. They are bad for the environment to make and dispose. They are heavy. They are expensive. And a large majority of them can't be repaired. A motor that can run off water is where it's at. Steam. Just need ro figure a way to make it practical.
She said cutting down on greenhouse gases for the environment. She sounds like a Democrat LOL I wonder if she knows that you're still using energy to power that vehicle and that energy comes from a coal-fired plant. It takes coal to make electricity to power that little vehicle. But whatever. I'm not interested I don't like instant to work I don't like not having a transmission and I don't like not having sound. But hey to each their own I think it's a very intelligent invention I think they're very smart and hey if it works for them I wish them the absolute best of luck. But it's just not for me
I Doordash because Lyme disease 🦠 has got me. Daily migraines and vertigo popping it’s ugly head and I want To convert my 2005 CRV INTO a 1 💯%. Love this set up!
It would be awesome to see a Roots-type blower made into a cooling fan for the batteries in the block. Keep up the great work
YES great idea, maybe dual eclectic turbos as well
Thanks for sharing. Ive been looking into your kit for a couple of my projects. Keep up the amazing work.

You guys are awesome. How much would one of your motors cost? I would like to put one in my 81 CJ7 Jeep
Great job Emily! I have a ford crossfire that I want to convert.
You could have a hidden turbo that pushes air sounds through the pipes. So, the car would sound the same as a high-powered gas car ... make them roar ... :)

What do you think of a GMC motor home conversion from 455 Olds front wheel drive V-8 to electric?

I would like to do a conversion on a VW Rialta Winnebago RV. They have weak transmissions and I would love to be able to pull a small boat with it.
What motor would worst best with 2nd gen dodge?
I love the idea of electric ! I was wondering if its possible to do a flathead V8 that could bolt to a awesome henry conversion kit for ford 8N tractor
Love what you're doing! EV hotrods are the future.
Along with Propane and hydrogen though the Hydrogen is distance future but I can see a future for Electric and Propane hot rods and love what these guys or well guy and woman are doing.
Do you have a package that's minimalistic? Motor/controller/battery/gear reduction - without the "extra" that makes it look like a SBC?

can you put an electric motor in an rv and have it powered by solar panels on the roof of the recreational vehicle? just wondering,
Its awesome to see that you have progressed with this. Maybe drop by Totten Welding and give us an update
I have a 50 Chevy styleline deluxe and would love to electrify it. It's all original but that's the way of the future. I'll be in touch
Would you share the information regarding the company in California that’s selling electric conversion kits? Thanks

Man, I really got the wrong neighbors growing up. Hotrods old cars love it. We had mopeds and an old suzuki alto with only first and reverse gear haha.
Can you the GM 3.8 V6? The bulletproof engine.
Can you convert a 2021 F150 regular cab into an electric vehicle?
I would like to see your electric motor conversion for a stock looking Model A Ford.

I've had converting a broken down C4 Corvette to electric. This is interesting :)
I have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS that I can't let go of and would seriously consider converting it. Is this possible?
Yes
How about doing a ev for Cadillac DTS 2008 HOW MUCH for THAT?

Love to have one, until I saw the price. My dreams were shattered. May be I saw the wrong price.
If only you guys could use parts from the old engine to make the electric engine seem more authentic.
How much is this kit? Would like to install one for my 1994 year Mitsubishi pajero truck

How about a power stroke into EV
You guys are awesome. So glad to see you preserving the old vehicles. I started building electric cars with my students 11 years ago in a high school auto Metal Shop. Check out the video from 11 years ago ruclips.net/video/7MQS_ewzHNc/видео.html
Hey thanks for sharing that. That’s a cool vid
Is there a EV motor club to connect with nationally (US) that can do these conversions? 66’ CK10 w a lift kit that I’m willing to phase into the restoration
i like my old cars and truck i wont to do my truck k1500
No one that crazy
Put the electric motor behind the engine and make a cut away.
Use plastic molds for motor Looks. Weight is the enemy
True weight and EV’S don’t mix. I do love the look of aluminum though. And I need strength in the side panels ,good suggestion,Thankyou
Stupid question
It would be legal to drive on the road
Oh ya I drive it every day in my 36 Hayes
ok great idea...but for 50k to 70k for 1 motor this is rediculous... i can get a tesla model s motor for 3k... so idk... theres alot of room for improvment on the price...and concidering a cyber truck is 40k then 6 and 70k.... how the fuck are you going to sell this...we can get a whole cyber truck for 70k.

Wind pipes can be used to make muffler noise
