For EVERYONE and anyone who have issues with taking it out, or experiencing a feeling of cramps, or just feel apprehensive: It's important not to "just" grab it and pull it out as is. You need to release the natural air pressure that gets created first. It can put stress on your cervix otherwise. The natural air pressure is usually the culprit when taking it out feels tricky. I figured this out after I struggled my first time - I'm many happy years into my period cup usage now 🤗
So if ANYONE feels a sucking kind of feeling or any pain inside upon pulling it out - stop and follow these steps instead:
When it's time to remove it, first put your fingers in and find the cup. Wiggle it a little if needed until you're able to push your fingers against the side of the cup. I use one hand. While keeping two fingers on the back of the cup to keep it from moving, I use my thumb to push it a little from the front. That way you get the cup out of shape enough for the air pressure to get released (you can usually hear/feel it slightly as it does). After that then pull it downwards, still off shape, until it's out entirely. If you can't hear the air pressure get released, you can still feel if it comes out easy or not! If it feels like its still "pulling" or doesn't glide out easily, try pushing it on the side more.
If you bleed more and the cup is quite full, try doing this in the bathtub for your first time. I usually do it over the toilet. Once you get the hang of releasing the air pressure using the cup becomes super easy! I got the hang of it after doing it just once so don't worry.
The reason this is especially important is because you can get cramping from the potential stress put on your cervix. This can happen if you just pull it out when the air pressure is still there, and you keep pulling it even if it hurts. Don't do that, just take a breath and go slowly ♡
The cervix pressure cramping can occur from having a period cup size that is too large as well. My friend has two sizes, one medium and one small. She starts out with the medium and switches to small towards the end of her period. When she only uses medium she can feel some slight cramps on the last day. I also only use medium/regular one size too and am planning to get a small one as well so I can change between the two sizes! It's also common to feel like you need to pee when you first put it in or on day one, even if your bladder is empty. That feeling will go away naturally as your body gets used to the cup.
Important side note: This type of cervix cramping can occur during sex as well. That's how I first learned about it. It's happened maybe 5 times total for me. The reason is when the cervix is placed low during the month, and something continuously pushes up against it too much, the cervix gets stressed and can then cause cramping. The cramping can last for a few minutes and sometimes much longer. It can feel very intense, however it's not dangerous. It's simply your body telling you to avoid stress on your cervix.
So be careful if you can when taking the cup out if you feel pain, and be careful during sex when your cervix is low. If you feel pain during sex try to take a break. You can also check if your cervix is low. Ask your partner to go more shallow and try changing the sex position. If still painful, just wait for a few days for the cervix to come back up and have sex then instead.
My whole life changed from switching to a period cup! Though I wrote this in detail because I want to help those who feel nervous their first time using a period cup (like I did).. Using a period cup really is SUPER duper easy. The issues you can get with pads or tampons etc, like bleeding into panties, on your clothes, or smelling strange or bad and having to switch pads/tampons constantly... all those issues literally DISAPPEAR from one day to the next when you switch to a period cup. With the cup you don't smell at all, and when it's right size-wise, you don't even feel it when it's there! If you feel apprehensive just go for it. You can read this and other guides before putting it in your first time! 😊
Thankyou for this!!!

Dude, the vacation part is so true! I switched to a menstrual cup just over a year ago. I took a vacation with my boyfriend recently and got my period. I would have been mortified having to deal with pads; potentially bleeding on the hotel sheets, the nasty used ones in the trash, chafing while we walked around, the smell etc. No worries with my trusty cup though!
That’s why there’s also tampons to use as well
@cassielong6617 the material of a tampon isn't always good. Plus , in the video, she mentioned the chemicals that are in tampons. The cup is a third option and works for people too. It's good that we have more options now.
I’m using the Saalt soft cup. I feel like we as women do not get enough education about our bodies and I have learned so much from youtubers like you. Thank you.
Same it’s one of the best thing I decided to do, it’s actually helping me learn more about my body and this definitely needs to be teach to women as how much better it is
My saalt cup is suppose to come in tomorrow. Its like early Christmas present and I am so excited
drakose1997 I wholeheartedly agree. Sex Ed needs to be reassessed (at least in the US where I’m from) or maybe a class specifically for women and learning about our bodies. I didn’t have my mom in my life and was raised by an aunt and uncle and it was weird to even think about talking to them about stuff like that.
Stevieandphil Oatsvall omg I am so happy for you! I’ve only had it for one period so far and it was amazing. I got the soft one because I had the diva cup and it was a firm nightmare for me. I don’t even feel the Saalt soft.

@@leep1770 yep. during the world wars, nurses used the gauze that was designed to soak up blood from wounds for pads and tampons. before then they used fabric pads.
Lol love it
I met someone in 2013 who had actually developed toxic shock from a tampon. She fell into a coma and no one knew why until hours later they discovered her tampon. She’s permanently disabled now. From a TAMPON!!!!! From then on I never wore one again so I naturally went to pads. I’m over it!!!! I recently made the change to a cup and I like it so much more. I do get frustrated because I’m learning how to place it....but I know I’ll get there. I also appreciate that I’m eliminating so much plastic waste from the pads and their obnoxious wrappers.
Love my cup. Best decision I ever made regarding my vaginal health. Also an advantage- helps you end your period earlier due to suction. No more lingering brown stuff at the end bc the cup just sucks it all away. When you’re done, you’re done!
I never realised this! It really did become way less after switching to the cup. Gonna keep an eye out for it now and see if it's actually entirely gone for me as well
I am a 53 year old woman. I wish I would have had someone like you to talk to and be so open with and talk naturally. I really think it's important that we as woman are more in control of our bodies. Thank you for this Beautiful video. You did a Wonderful job explaining everything. Thank you for showing woman that our bodies are Beautiful and work in a very natural way.

As a person who uses one do you have to take it out to pee? Like in all the vids I watch they don't mention it. Sorry if this sounds stupid.
Maddie Chattie nope you don’t have to take it out to pee! but some people find it difficult to poop so you might need to stick your finger up there to hold it in place or just take it out. but it doesn’t affect you peeing at all.
@@madelinehornsby9393 thank you the claim you can keep it in for 12 hours always confused me lol like I usually pee at least 10 times in that amount of time.
I know this was made 2 years ago, but I’m here watching it and am so appreciative. Thank you for shining a good light on our periods and how our reproductive systems are wonderful things! ❤️
Right. I just bought one yesterday so I'm watching all the videos before I use it today 😅
Immediately after watching this video, In ordered mine. Let me just say, the experience has been life changing. I felt less "dirty" or "gross", I do NOT miss the naustalgic smell of old blood in pads. showering between the rinses and baths have been a beautiful discovery that my cycle is a time for me to chill out. Realize just how fearfully and wonderfully made you are.
God bless the inventor of menstrual cups. I mean it, God bless you!
The smell was a huge thing for me too. I'm a big lass, so sweat and blood always made periods with pads an unplesant experience. Cups and discs stop that entirely, and it makes your period a million times less unpleasant.
i love people that finally realise that periods is a signal of life, and not something to be afraid or disgusted or ashamed
Yes! I embrace my fully
Yesss 🙌🏼

My teenager convinced me to buy her a cup after an environmentally conscious friend recommended it to her. I was skeptical about her being squeamish and dealing with it (she was 14 then) but she swears by it and it's been very successful for her.

Girl bye.
First of all who said my hijab is uncomfortable? I can’t even feel it lol. Just like how you’re not supposed to feel a menstrual cup.
Also, men have their own “hijab!” God created us and so He knows how each gender reacts to specific parts. He knows His creation best. You’re probably also mixing culture with religion. Islam liberates women. It gives us so many rights, many that women across the world still don’t have till this day. Culture, especially middle-eastern culture is often assumed to be part of Islam when in reality it’s not. Islam doesn’t say that you can’t hug your spouse in public, but many cultures do. It doesn’t say that you can’t drive or freely go out shopping with your girlfriends, but many cultures do!
Odette X it’s apart of their culture and they can where whatever they want so leave her alone.
God bless u . Now I will try it
@@AD-eg9cw your comment is rude and insulting. I'm sure she CAN run her fingers through her hair and feel the breeze. Just cause it's thick doesn't mean she can't get her fingers through it.
@@AD-eg9cw 🙄 she maybe a revert who chose islam for herself, you being a middle eastern does not qualify u or make you an expert in islam clearly you know nothing about Islam (women don't wear it for men) .mind your business
I have to take mine out in the shower, and I’ll tell you, it’s almost a religious experience seeing the intensity of color flow with the water. It’s kind of amazing, and you’re the first person I’ve ever heard talk about it this way, thank you for appreciating this amazing product of our bodies❤️❤️
I felt the same about it the color!! When I first took it out in the shower I was literally just staring at it. Like “holy shit… this came out of me” but not in a disgusted way?? This might be tmi… but it was warm and such a nice shade of red and it was the most blood I’ve ever seen at one time. I was actually a little impressed. Idk if I’m just weird but it was fascinating
Now I’m excited for my first period with the cup! After 8 years of getting periods this will be a game changer
I love my cup! I love not having to buy pads and tampons. Best thing ever. There were times i actually forgot i was on my cycle. I love it
Have you ever been swimming in a menstrual cup?
If so, how was it?
Best thing they Invented!! I love my cup!
I still keep pads but don't have to stock pile anymore. I've saved so much money on tampons, pads and feminine wipes because my cycle is a beast. Friggin Godzilla-ya hear me. So sometimes I need a pad.
I used feminine wash to clean it and store it in the bag. Lessened my carbon footprint and couldn't be happier.
Ali FootieTricks i did and its just as if youre not even on ur period.. it doesnt leak and you dont feel it either !

Instead of throwing pads and tampons away, maybe donate them? Menstruation is one of the most difficult things about being homeless.
Great point. However i was taught that when traveling to give underwear is an insult. How can i feel comfortable donating tampons and pads at this point.

You are amazing! Thank you for such an uplifting, inspiring and comforting video. I got my first cup this week and I love it!! Absolute game changer, for some reason I feel even more in control of things, almost empowered! You are so right about the amount it collects over the hours, I was so surprised. Also, videos like this and hearing others talk so freely about periods has built up my own confidence to talk more about it... it's ridiculous, I'm in my 30's and come from a family where we just didn't talk about periods or sex or anything you go through growing up, but thanks to you and others alike I finally feel comfortable about being honest about the subject.
It’s so much better for the environment too. Reduces so much waste.

Corvivid Art Tampons are the closest, but you change it and use the correct absorbency to stay safely
Corvivid Art girl my mom made us wrap that stuff up and take it to the garage.
She did not play with nasty garbage in the restroom.

I'm a new diva cup user, so I've been watching all the menstrual cup videos here, and this is seriously the best video out here. Thank you! Every little thing you say is in alignment with everything I've been feeling. What a liberation, I wish I had switched 20 years ago when I first heard about the diva cup.
I absolutely love this video! And the point made about smelling the cup? Absolutely!! Tampons and pads have chemicals in it that alter the smell of the blood we've been literally conditioned to think our blood smells when an actuality it's the pads and tampons!
WHEN SHE SAID SHE SMELT IT I DIED!!! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY WEIRDO. You become so in tuned with your body using the Diva Cup. The slightest changes (smell, colour, consistency, amount) are noticeable which is actually very helpful. I love the new understanding of my body that I gained using the Diva Cup.
Also changing it in public was a big fear of mine but I honestly rarely have to change it in public since it can be left in for 12 hours and once you get familiar with your cycle/flow you can safely leave it in longer.
I'm sorry I love the cup so much I love sharing information about it
Girl!!!!! I feel you! It’s such an exciting thing and to make period life easier is like THANK YOU LORD!!!! 🤣
You should know your body's scent to tell of you're healthy. Dude, when you smell that iron rich metallic smell and not the ocean-you're good. No copay necessary.
Chenai David THANK YOU FOR THE SMELL BIT
I always smelled whatever came out of my vagina. I never was squeamish about anything. I taste and look at everything. How can I expect someone to go down on me if I don't try it first..? And tampons and pads smell HORRIBLE no matter how fast I changed them. They are also so often brownish oxidized...
since I use a cup I actually feel soooo much cleaner.... not like gross shit is seeping constantly out of me. The blood all just comes out clean, no smell and deep bright red. It's soooo good.
I still haven’t emptied it in a public bathroom because I’m terrified I’ll drop it!! I’m in Korea so the stall are very private unlike in the US.
But I haven’t smelt it. Now I’m curious!!
I tried one my first time a week ago when I was on vacation hiking in the mountains and I'm in loveee like I don't have to worry about changing every 2 hours and I didn't feel it when I was hiking like YES PLEASE. but I did leak a bit of blood everyday but I think it was because it didn't 'pop' open, I found it really difficult to reach for the circle to feel if it popped open, but for first time using I am really happy about it!
This with thinx underwear at night changed my LIFE! I always try to make these points with any woman who will listen.
I’ve been wanting to try the thinx underwear for a while but i know I’ll have to spend sooo much to have at least 3 so I can rotate and use them . Ive been holding off on buying it also because I’m scared that it really won’t get alllll the blood lol

Then I bought just one period panty and I would use just my cup and the period underwear during the heaviest days and it was great. Now I bought 2 period panties more. No more leaks at all. And I wash the panties at the end of the period with very little blood. Great!
J M Knix is a great brand that can be much cheaper than Thinx. Also Knix period panties have up to 3 tsps for all styles (except the thong which holds 1 regular tampon’s worth) I know right now that there’s a really good sale if you’re still interested.
J M Try Modibodi. It’s about $15-$20 cheaper than Thinx. I also prefer Modibodi over Thinx because I’m the kind of nerd that researches companies like this before supporting them or giving them my business. I want to try it, because I HATE pads and tampons are really uncomfortable... but this sounds so scary
I just bought a June cup because they are being sold at cost ($6) due to covid. Life changing. Scary at first but so worth it. The community of women who use cups is so supportive too.
No joke i bawled my eyes out for an hour cuz i couldnt get the cup out since i couldnt get a grip of the stem & felt the cup getting sucked into oblivion 🤣🤣
@@dannnarutam Now I'm worried
@@jamaicanflavor3737 once u take the cup out, it really helps if u use both hands cuz using 1 gets really tricky; 1 to lightly tug the stem, then 1 to squeeze the bottom portion of the cup 😊😊
Okay, being someone who is on her second day of using a cup, let me share my experience. I couldn't get it in on the first day of my periods because I was so tensed. So I decided to try it on the second day when there will be more flow and hence more lubricant. I also watched some informative videos that night. The next day I tried it again. Yes, there will be a bit of a pain but it is mostly the fear that is going to cause the pain rather than the cup. You need to first put in your finger and figure out the direction it will go and then try interesting the cup. Also, you will have to push it in. There may or may not be a pop sound but you'll know it's properly in if you don't feel anything at all. If there is a sight discomfort, try pushing it further.
Removing it is much easier I feel. You need to exert pressure on your stomach, like during a bowel movement. It will automatically push it downwards a bit. You need to just grab the circular thingy and pull it out, slowly. The first two times if changing it were tricky, ngl. But by the third time, it became much easier and I'm guessing it is going to her easier in the next few cycles. I don't even feel like I'm on my period tbh.
Tip: try to cut your fingernails as short as possible for the first few tries. You won't be scared to hurt your vag with your nails and grabbing the outer circle or pushing it in will be much easier. Hope it helps.
p.s. it will obviously be easier for people who have had intercourse before. But if you haven't, try figuring out your vag beforehand. The feeling of something going in your vag wouldn't be new then.
I’m not shocked there was no smell. When you think of why there is a smell in the first place it’s probably because with tampons and pads the blood sits.
ruclips.net/video/xi8u9DcC0_Q/видео.html
Blood starts to smell only after it meets oxygen from the air. Menstrual cup basically blocks out the air and the problem is gone :)
Oxygen+blood=smell
I heard it smells because of the chemicals in pads/tampons
Vanessa Williams blood+oxygen=smell. When you use a menstrual cup there’s no smell because the air isn’t touching any blood. 👍🏼

As a martial artist, I love this thing. Used the cup for 3 years, every time. No worries about leaking. No worries about risk of toxic shock syndrome like tampons have. No worries of having to change it every four hours. I just have to change it when I wake up and when I go to bed. Saves you a ton of money in the long run.
So you can use a cup and not worry about leaking while exercising?
Gravii Tea yes, I have no worries about it leaking as long as I change it periodically. If it’s heavier I have to change it in within 7 hours or so to prevent any leaking. But you can go as long as 12 hours without removing it. I’ve had no problems with leaking during practice because of movement, even when I’m doing intense exercise.
Nobody ever mentions toxic shock syndrome. Why do tampons cause it and cups don't? What s the difference?
Beverly Marsh I’m thinking it’s because of the material that each are made out of. Cups are made out of silicone, which is considered non-toxic to humans (it’s the material that makes up breast implants among many other things), while tampons are made of cotton, which make it much easier for bacteria to grow if left in for an extended period of time (pun not intended). I think there are potential infections from using a cup, like a yeast infection, but you just have to make sure to sterilize the cup by boiling it after your period ends, and wash your hands before inserting it. I’m not a doctor, so you might wanna get better info from a gynecologist.
@@JoannaKumar I think it's also good to add that one can still get TSS from menstrual cups, since TSS happens for a specific bacteria growing inside and oxygen is one of the factors to encourage the growth of that bacteria. Cups actually allow for more oxygen to enter than tampons, but as long as the cup is properly cleaned and isn't left for beyond the designated time (8-12hrs) it's very low risk
Girl...your hair is giving me L-I-F-E right now
You’re so calming and chill about it I love you so much , new Subbyyy gained ❤️
Welcome to the Tribe! 🤗
After the first week of using a menstrual cup in was so pissed no one put me on sooner. HUGE game changer for me. Takes set it and forget it to another level.
Shay_Loma Literally!!!! I can leave it in for up to 20 hours on light days with no risk. No worries, no leaking, and no discomfort
Been using the cup for two years and just now trying the Charlie Banana pads. My future daughters will have the easiest, cheapest puberty ever..
@@denyshadials5702 may I ask a question... When having sex and stuff doesn't it feel like your vigina has loosened?! I mean I'm scared it will make me more open down there...
an intellectual's observation
Never had sex🤷🏾♀️ sorry...
Edit: However I’m told a vagina has quite a bit of spring back and the elasticity is affected much more after birthing as opposed sex. So I think you’ll be ok. Plus there are cervix cups too. Might want to look into that.
@@anintellectualsobservation3563 I can only speak for myself but I've not experienced this at all. The cup expands and suctions to whatever shape your cervix is rather than expanding and pushing your cervix open, if that visual helps.

Had to subscribe sis cuz you got my life alllllll the way together just from this one vid! I purchased one and of course got frustrated, I felt at one point it was stuck and I couldn’t take it out. But you made me feel so good and confident! Thank you so so much! I agree with your whole convo of our culture too

Sneezing , coughing and laughing aren’t as uncomfortable on your cycle .
Not to mention when you urinate you don’t have to worry about the tampon string getting wet 🤮

@@starwilson6327 why would you ever do that unless its full... simply move your string to the side... or switch to a cup... definitely is a game changer
@@JanceAnderson i got through almost a while box of tampons on my period. And yes they are full. But im scared my flow is to heavy for the cup and it will leak. Do you know if that can happen?
@@leoofchild8039 there are different sizes to choose from usually. Diva cup has three I believe :)
She said” I smelled it “ I was like girrrllllll me tooo I was surprised🤣 btw you’re so pretty
So do I!😄
the 'smell' is when it mixes with the air and chemicals in the tampons & sweat & your normal skin bacteria & me too... it was fab... LMAO
the way you shared your experience is sooo entertaining and pretty comforting!! thank you for giving your honest thoughts on yours. ❤️❤️
31yr old Canadian - just bought my first Diva Cup and I gotta say THANK YOU my mind is def at ease now! You're amazing and gorgeous
why i love it:
its saving so much waste
it saves you so much money omg
its so easy just changing it once in the morning and once before bed
I have very heavy periods and had to tip the cup out every 1.5 hours or it leaked, absolutely useless !
mary burger have you tried the ones for heavier flow? I’m pretty sure there are different sizes that hold more blood.
Exactly my thought! The reasons why I want to get this.
And you can be on your period, chilling in the hot tub, sauna or swimming pool comfortably. I only have to think about my period twice a day.
But what if the user is still a virgin? Wouldn't it hurt?
Tried it to get away from wearing wet sticky pads and never went back!
DIYWithDara does it hurt to take it out?
Positive Equine I’m late but I wouldn’t say it hurts. It takes a bit of practice to take it out but I never experienced any type of pain so far with my cup. I just started with this cycle and so far I’m really happy with it. Honestly my biggest struggle was learning to put it in the right way. I’m almost there though!
Gail B your not late in my books at all! I haven’t gotten my period yet so I haven’t tried the cup. That’s great to know! I hope it works for me because I really hate using so many disposable pads and tampons during my period and I don’t like how many chemicals there are in them either! Would it be weird to ask if you could keep me posted on it? 😂 thanks btw
Positive Equine yeah that’s pretty much why I switched. I get 10 day long periods and having a sopping wet pad for 1/3 of every month is just too much haha... check out the Put a Cup in it channel. I’ve been watching them my entire cycle while I try to figure this out lol I did manage to go the last 2 days so far with only the smallest of spotting. I think I’m annoying my sister with how much I talk about it now
Gail B oh yes I love put a cup in it! Oooof ten day long periods would really suck. I get six day periods but I have heard that cups can make them shorter? I’m not sure if that true but I’ve heard from a few people that they do
Hey Girl! Love your energy and love that mentality about celebrating our periods and our bodies as women.
I had a hysterectomy 15 years ago and I still sat and watched your whole video because you were so interesting and informative.
Ok you really got me excited about trying this cup thing!! Thank you for making this video & being so TMI with it because this is the info I needed to hear!! 😩🙌🏼❤️
Girl you are not the only one who notices a sweet smell 😂 i feel less weird thanks
Yes! I thought I was the only one that noticed the sweet scent lol
Literally the first thing I did when I took it out the first time was smell it😂 I legit thought something was wrong with me because I kept hearing "it doesn't smell like anything". I was so happy to hear it smells sweet for other people as well.
Me too! Lol
Same! Haha
Giiirl!! From all the videos I have seen on these cups, yours has been the best to make me feel comfy going up in there and figuring it out! No shame or nerves no more and it worked! ❤
I love how you are normalizing everything about this! Great job!!
I love how honest she is!
Her enthusiasm is amazing! 😃

what you said about the smell, the color, the beauty! the appreciation is so real.women dont even realize how godly periods are. celebratory for real

I'm terrified of using my cup for the first time but this video made me excited that I made the right decision for my health! Thank you so much for this gorgeous 🖤
I'm 32 with hormonal issues, I've never had a period this month will be my first. I'm terrified but I want to try one of these. Thank you so much for helping me and other women. It's super hard being 32 and knowing nothing about periods and products for it. I appreciate you so much, thank you!
Wow. Were you athletic ask your life? Sometimes that’s a contributing factor
It doesn't smell because it's not exposed to air.
Aly true! Blood oxidises when in air which makes it smell irony and coppery!
I learned this years ago on "PBS" or some other channel that talked about health issues late at night.
Hey You guys my cup is starting to stain and pick up an order. Idk why, my period is very light, only 3-4 days and I change it once in the evening/night and again in the morning. What could I be doing wrong? Should I have it replaced after so many months?
@@cbreeze123 you do boil it for about 5 min straight after and before evwry period, do you?
MsLilyFay nope but I did yesterday. I was only washing it with water and a mild soap. I didn’t know I was supposed to boil every time but that makes sense. I used hydrogen peroxide and water soak, then boiled afterwards. Good as new
I love that you speak about the fact that our periods are a sign of health and fertility. I’m 41 and have had 3 pregnancies resulting in 4 beautiful babies. I’m not ashamed but our culture tells us to be. Thank you!
Same but I'm 26. Does it get easier, my twins are a nightmare at the minute 😂😂
@@FaithMcCaffrey oh it gets so much easier. It’s all downhill after 5. Mine just turned 15 2 days ago. They are good boys.
Thank you for talking with no shame! You are so real and so much how everybody needs to talk about it. Also your hair is fantastic and you are so beautiful!
You hit every key point. (TMI) I came across this channel because I actually got mine stuck because this is my second month using it but man I love it. I have told so many women it. Great video and definitely game changer.
I’ve finally got my menstrual cup a few months ago!! I finally got it after educating myself on alternatives to pads and convincing my mum to buy me one, I’ve been wanting the cup since I started my period and it took literal years to convince my mum to buy me one!!! It honestly made me so happy getting the cup, it honestly the best thing ever and I say this as someone who went from pads to the cup without ever using a tampon.
I also feel so much more confident now that I have heard your story and seeing how excited you are about it now I’m ready to try it...thanks
You're openness and honesty is so helpful thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
I came on RUclips to watch a review about the diva cup after a few seconds of this queen speech I paused the video and immediately made my purchase, can’t wait for delivery
i just love how she explains every single detail
My TMI: I had really hard and terrible time putting AND taking it out when I used the Diva cup. the diva cup was too long and big for me. It was very uncomfortable! So I bought a small Ruby cup and same thing happened not going in all the way. I found out that my cervix was really low especially when my period comes. Then I tried Flex disc and it was somewhat comfortable but still felt it was too wide. Now I ordered Nixit and waiting for my next period. I did not give up! I will keep try different things because I have bad cramps and I want to get rid of it! Also did not want to make more trash (like when I am using pads and tampons) Thank you for sharing your TMI and that helped me I should not give up and try things that will fit for my body. I hope every women try them out!
You should try the Lumma Unique disc! They come in 3 different sizes. The large size is about the same size as the flex disc
Let me know how it works out. And for cramps and stuff I don’t get those a lot but this soap I yoni soap I buy has deleted cramps and UTI’s and stuff from people. And since once used it I’ve noticed that I really don’t get cramps at all anymore. The company is called @salt.xo on instagram
Hey! I own a organicup and have used it for one period now. The first 2 days it felt really uncomfortable/painful to use it and I also thought the cup was way too big. I still kept using it, because I thought it might be a thing you need to get used to. Let me tell you, IT IS! Your body needs to get used to the cup as well! The first 2 days my body “rejected” the cup, but after those first days my body actually moved the cup a little bit higher every time I put it in and I dont feel it at all. I now realize that it’s not too big, it’s just your body getting used to something new. I dont know how long you’ve tried the cups for, but this is my experience with it and I thought I’d share it with you :) This might not be the case with you, but for me it was just a game of trying not to think about it and accepting the discomfort in the beginning. I hope you find something that works though!
You should take the put a cup in it quiz @ putacupinit.com
You could try the Saalt soft version in the small size. Soft version is nice and flexible. It's a little trickier to get to open, but it will be more comfortable.
I'm considering giving it a try. Thanks for your transparency, Sis!
how was it?
Thank you so much for this honesty. You answered so many of my questions. Things even dr don’t wanna talk about.
I actually fold mine in half because it opens easier that way. I used to do it the way you fold it, but sometimes it didn’t open correctly and I had small leaks. That hasn’t happened since I use the fold-in-half method :)
Same with me!
Me too! I was using the first method she showed but experienced leaks so I tried the half fold...SO MUCH BETTER! I wish every woman would use one.
Im going to try this!
Yeah, it didn't want to open with this method when I tried it too! I think it's not that much of a deal how to fold it, as I thought in beginning. Just do whatever you're comfortable with, I'm actually making it look like H shape because such small folds open up very easily. Most of the time at first time actually, even when I'm a lil sleepy in the morning :D
Do you fold it like a C or a U? How do you fold yours in half?
Getting a period cup LITERALLY changed my life. That statement is so overused but seriously... couldn't be more true.
Can you sleep with it?
@@calmandrelaxationessential2407 Yes! You just need to take it out and rinse it once to twice a day. People vary on how often they need to take it out but that's worked great for me. Oh and disinfect it in boiling water for a few mins before the period starts (i.e. you only disinfect it once before and once again after the period has ended, so twice a month total)
That's exactly why it's so lifechanging, you barely even have to think about it! I feel so much fresher ever since making the switch.
I want to ask something, I’m 15 and would it be healthy to use a diva cup in that age?
@@Nami-he7jz That's awesome that you're looking into getting one at 15! I'd say from experience that it's good to start with a brand that offers a small sized one (S/M etc) to start with. I started using one in my 20s, got M at first and later switched to S. Size really just depends on one's anatomy. Personally I'd also recommend getting one that's transparent since research isn't conclusive on the dyes yet. There are no specific issues in regards to young age as far as I know. You can check with the manufacturer just in case as well :)
I just started wearing the diva cup. Thank you for this REAL video. And GIRL....YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!!!! I LOVE YOUR HAIR
I JUST picked one up and watched your review, I went from “I hope this is for me” to “yes can’t wait to try it!” THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for your honesty, frankness, and courage to post this. Today is the first day if using a diva cup (I’m from 🇨🇦 too 🙌🏻) and your truth felt so supportive and validating. ❤️
I use to have a very painful period that lasted for 14 days!!!! I made the change to the Diva Cup, cloth pads and cloth panty liners 3 years ago. That was the best decision I ever made. I now have a 7 day period and only have mild pains on day two. My period and I are now friends.
Just the comment I was looking for. IF it alleviates cramps I'm all for it! Ty! Ty! Ty! LAWD TY!!
@@xxena4753 , you have to change everything. Cloth panty liners and cloth pads help to reduce the chemical that are entering your body on a daily basis. Add in the Diva Cup and you should be good.
@@nicoleharrison4715 I shol will! lol 🤜🤛
I used to have baaaad cramps before I had a baby. Now they’re bearable. I still use pads but I’ve changed to the chemical/dye free pads. I’m wondering if trying the cup will further lessen my pain. When you first switched to the cup did it take a while before the cramps decreased? Just the thought of putting something in my vagina while already experiencing pain down there is frightening to me...and the only reason I haven’t tried this cup yet.
@@itsbibifam, each period it changed more and more. It took 2 cycles for pains decrease. But I found that once I changed my pads and panty liners that the pains only occurred on day 2. I went to cloth pads and liners because the other organic ones had wood chips or shavings. I have a couple of cups and every once in a blue I use cotton tampons. An I am good.
I love how she spoke about her period in a healthy light. All the videos I watched just acted grossed out and scared the whole time. I thought it was funny wen she talked about the smell bc I did the same and to see how huge of a difference the smell is with pads and tampons compared to the cup is literally jaw dropping. I’m 19 and I just got my first cup yesterday so I’m still fairly new, but so far I’m impressed. Coming from someone who is extremely sensitive, I could never really use tampons and pads are just messy and they smell. So I would definitely recommend this healthier alternative to my ladies ❤️👋🏽
