  • HIGH-PRESSURE AT WORK
In order to demonstrate the MINI-STRIKER® advantages over a general purpose pump, we’ve set both pumps side by side and observed how they perform at the nozzle when progressively adding up to 5 hose lays to reach 125 feet of elevation.
Given the current terrain configuration we gain roughly 25’ of elevation for every hose length of 100’. Consequently, we expect to lose about 14 PSI of pressure at the nozzle for every length of hose.
Based on this demo, it is obvious that the MINI-STRIKER® outperforms the WX15.
The extra-pressure produced by the MINI-STRIKER® helps you move water farther and higher than what is possible to achieve with a general purpose pump. The additional performance results in a better flow at the nozzle and provides a safety factor in critical situation.

Nice demonstration and the Mini-Striker is a great pump, but... you can buy two or three WX15's for the price of a Mini-Striker.

We understand it can be a big investment, and we can assure you that the MINI-STRIKER® offers benefits you won’t find in a lower-cost alternative.
Performance, reliability, and power-to-weight ratio is what makes the MINI-STRIKER® the best of its class. WATERAX’s pump head results in greater maximum head, pressure, and flow, which is what it’s all about when you’re moving water. When it comes to stopping a fast moving fire, this can be enough to make the difference between initial attack success and failure. Beyond containment, having a higher pressure pump expedites the mop-up process. In short, the MINI-STRIKER® outperforms other competitive products of its category.

All good but I can't find this pump in Europe where Honda in widely available :(

The pump for my hose only needs to push water 200 feet at most and there is no slope.... The waterax is great for the forest service, but the difference in price and my specs are waht works for me.

Can someone please tell me if you can turn off the nozzle while it's running? Will it hurt the pump if you do? Will the back pressure ruin it? Or is that ok to do?

You can turn off the nozzle but we wouldn't recommend having it shut off for longer than a minute in order to avoid the pump end overheating.

You can turn off the nozzle and keep the pump running as long as your recirculation valve is open. This way you don't need to shut the pump while not losing water ether.

Nice toys in that lush green environment. Those things aren't capable of much more than a serious camp fire. Why don't you come and test them in the south eastern Australian environment where the bush literally explodes in extreme conditions. Seriously I've had enough of manufacturers selling toy fire pumps that couldn't reach a serious fire base because of the radiant heat. 17 bar 1700kpa 3" hoses 600lt/min or cook.

WATERAX manufactures various pumps for different topography & fire behaviours. Working in British Columbia, Canada on an Initial Attack crew, we're restricted in gear manifest weight while flying in helis so we can't always fly with the MARK-3® (380 psi) and we much prefer using the MINI-STRIKER® over the Honda WX15 as it is more powerful. I recognize that Canada doesn't have the same fire condition as Australia but the MINI-STRIKER® definitely serves a purpose.
