    Would it be best to never fill etanol fuel in this engine and go with ASPEN - 4 0 etalon fuel thats build on alkylate. And is it better to drain the 0 etanol fuel when storing for 6 months to a year or drain the full tank aswell.

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  Год назад +1

      I just shut off the fuel valve and drain the carb bowl by letting it run till it stops. I just leave the tank full over winter with the valve off. I use an ethanol free pump gas, but that aspen stuff is amazing and it would be a good idea to run that as your last tank for the year, then just shut off the fuel valve and you're good to go!

      @@UtmostOutdoors can you tell me if your Camlock A fittings or C have sizing on them like DN40 or A150AL and what is the hose size in milimeters.

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  Год назад

      The size of the threads on the pump are 1.5" NPT. An online supplier might describe one as 1.5" female NPT threads to a 1.5" male camlock fitting. I buy from a local store called "greenline hose and fittings", maybe check their website for part #'s and info.

      @@UtmostOutdoors last question the PVC hose i ordered is rated working pressure 3bars and explosion max pressure at 9bars the wx15 is 3.5 bars or 57 psi do you think the hose is safe on 100% throttle aka 3.5bars.

    Nice! I’m looking into getting this same pump for dredging/highbanking. I’m on the fence about is it really worth 600 vs the harbor freight pump for 225? I’m a small time hobby prospector and just discovered your channel while looking for vids of the wx15. Keep up the cool content brother

      Well... looking at a 1" harbor freight pump that weighs 39lbs, vs the wx15 that weighs 20lbs, and can be run at lower rpm... my honda is coming on 10 years old, I change the oil as required and turn off the fuel valve when it sits over winter... still running strong. It's a clear winner. But for someone starting out, it's a big purchase. I might even consider a bilge pump setup vs the harbor freight as a way to see if you're as into the hobby as you hope to be. But as for a gas unit, I have never regretted my Honda WX15.

    So if you wanted to run a hose spray nozzle off of this for washing you boat could you twist the water nozzle off or would the pump continue to build pressure and blow the nozzle off? Thanks in advance for a reply

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  4 года назад +2

      If you're asking if you can run a garden hose off of this with a spray nozzle, then yes, it would work fine and you could turn on and off the nozzle periodically without damage.
      As this is a centrifugal pump, it only builds pressure to a certain point based on rpm and flow. If at any point you were to shut off your spray nozzle with the pump running, it would just keep going with no problems until you started spraying again. The only issue is that the water in the pump would eventually heat up if you left it running with no water flow for an extended period.

    I wonder what this pump is like for running a couple hundred feet of hose. Is the water pressure still strong?

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  7 месяцев назад

      I use the wx15 at about half throttle even with 80 feet of hose on my newest highbanker (which requires at most 40GPM). So long as the lift isn't too high. For very long runs, you can swap to 2" layflat hose to help reduce the line losses. Also, the closer to max output you require, the more hose length will affect output.
      I like to run a pump that can double the flow I think I'll need, then throttle down as needed so that I always have some power to spare. If your planning on maxing this out at 100%, it will be noisier, and you may want a larger pump.

    • @UtmostOutdoors

      I use G941W-150 from greenline hose and fitting here in Calgary. They have stores across Canada. It's a very flexible transfer hose that can be used for both suction and discharge. I use a short section on the discharge to prevent kinks in the layflat hose going up to the highbanker. The intake filter is from princess auto and I just wrapped it with some fine screen and electrical taped on some flexible wheel weights to keep it from floating.

    Let's see if I am as lucky with my WX15X as you were with yours... mine was run once to test for fire prevention and must be about 25 years old. Too bad you did not mention changing the oil and what weight oil after sitting so long. Good luck finding that gold!

    • @UtmostOutdoors

      Good luck with it! Honda recommends 250ml (8oz) of 10w30.
      I use the same 5W30 full synthetic that I put in my car, arguably a better oil.

    do you think i can burn the pump if I reduce the output to 1inch ?

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  4 месяца назад

      The pump will not be at risk of overheating unless the flow drops down to near zero. Basically the water will cool the pump so long as it's moving fast enough to do so.

    for a drilling job that requires 1500 feet of 1 inch water line, I'm wondering if I should go with the WX10 or WX15.

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  4 месяца назад

      I have no idea. If your required lift is within the pumps capability, it depends on flow requirements. I like the WX15 as the extra weight doesn't bother me, and it allows for more options. Too much water, throttle down...
